“The money is in the relationship with the list“. However the saying goes, you can see why it’s so important to build a list of subscribers that you can promote to over and over again.

The problem is building the list.

You may be wondering what you could possibly do to get people to sign up and subscribe to your e-mail newsletter.

Today, we’re going to look at one of the simplest ways you can do that.

It’s called a “Squeeze Page”.

If you haven’t heard of the term squeeze page before, don’t worry, I am going to tell you about it. A squeeze page or lead capture page is a web page that is designed solely to capture someone’s e-mail address.

The format usually starts with a big headline in red that offers the person reading it a benefit or something to cause curiosity to keep reading. Then below in the copy of the squeeze page you need to have a list of benefits or reasons’ why the person should sign up to your e-mail list.

You can use a whole bunch of bullets that offer benefits or you could give some sort of a gift away. The gift that most people give away is something like a free report on the topic they’re looking for.

In exchange for the free report, the person will give up their e-mail address. Once you have their e-mail address, you’ll be able to send them e-mails any time you want because you’ve received their permission to be e-mailed.

The key at this point to make sure you build a long-lasting relationship with them. If you build a relationship they’ll be more than likely to buy from you in the end.

The squeeze page is just a mean to get them on your list so you can build a relationship with them. With a squeeze page, there are no other distractions.

They either decide they’re going to put their e-mail in the little box or they’re going to back out. It gives them a simple choice.  This is why many squeeze pages average over a 50% opt-in rate.

This is a great way to build your list and to make money from it.

Though people use Blogger in many ways, the key is to build Blogger blogs in your niche, so that the visitors have reason to click through links, which will send them to your main blog.

For example, if you have a main blog about auto parts, which you are trying to generate traffic for, you can build a free Blogger blog very quickly that is just about car batteries or floor mats, then put in links to your main site.

One word of warning, however, is that Blogger does not like “pop up” blogs that are all pointing to the same url, so be sure to have links to other useful articles that you’ve written on other sites, like Squidoo or Hubpages and other interesting, relevant material on the web.

Blogger has been known to shut down blogs that they feel are spammy and, because it is a free blog, they have every right to do so, so be sure to produce quality when building a Blogger blog, or you will be wasting your time!

There are many reasons why you should cloak your affiliate links with PHP.

The first reason is that Google doesn’t like affiliate links.

The second reason is than there are some internet marketers who would like to take your affiliate links and insert their own links into them.

The structure of Clickbank hop links is not offering you any protection and it is easy for other people to use your links.

It is not difficult to do the PHP redirect cloaking and you don’t need to buy some fancy paid plugin to do this.

Here are some easy steps that can teach you how to do the PHP redirect cloaking.

You should first get your own affiliate link and paste it into a notepad.

After that, you need to paste the following code into a notepad as well:

header(“Location:hxxp://youraffilatelink.”);
exit;
?>

At the end you just need to take your affiliate link and insert it into the above code while changing  “hxxp” to “http”.

You can save this notepad file under any name and you should use a .php extension for your file.

In order to save your file as a .php file instead of saving it as a .txt file, you just need to click on the drop down menu and select “All files”.

Next thing you need to do is to go to your file manager in CPanel and create a new folder that is in the root of your domain.

All you need to do now is to upload the .php file you have just created into that folder.

Your affiliate link is now cloaked and protected from other internet marketeers.

Making money as an affiliate marketing by promoting products from Clickbank can be a very profitable business.  There are a number of different ways to successfully promote Clickbank products, some are easier than others, some are free while others require some capital.  This article will discuss the top four methods for promoting affiliate products and making a great income with Clickbank.

1. Article Marketing

Article marketing is one of the most popular methods for promoting affiliate products.  It is easy and it is free which are two of the reasons for it’s popularity.

With article marketing, you write articles based around your chosen keyword phrases that relate to the product you are promoting.  Then you submit those articles to article directories to be published on those directories.  You will include a link to your website, where you promote the affiliate product, in the resource box of the article.

By submitting articles with a link to your website you are getting more exposure to your website through those visitors that read your article. Some article directories will allow you to link directly to the product you are promoting, while others will not let you link directly to an affiliate product so you will link to your own website.

2. Search Engine Optimization

Search Engine Optimization is a great way to earn money long term with affiliate marketing.  With Search Engine Optimization or SEO the idea is to set up your website so it is optimized for the search engines which will help you to get a higher ranking.

If you can get your website ranking high in the search engines then you will get a lot of free traffic that you can then promote your affiliate products to.

Good SEO can take a bit of practice and you need to learn this skill well to be successful with it.  If you do learn SEO and set up your site so it is highly optimized the results will pay off for long term success.

3. Pay Per Click

Pay per click is one of the very popular methods to promote affiliate products used by the ‘super’ affiliates.  This method is not so popular for those starting out and who are on a limited budget.  PPC can be quite expensive and if you don’t set up your campaign correctly then it could cost you a lot of money.

Pay per click does require some investment to get started but if done right that investment can pay off nicely.  PPC is all about finding the right keywords that you can get a lot of clicks through to your website without paying a high price to get those clicks.  PPC can involve a lot of trial and error before you find the right keywords and offers that pay off well.

You can often lose money when first starting out with PPC but if you keep trying and tweaking your campaigns it can be very profitable long term.

4. Forum and Blog Commenting

Forum and blog commenting is also a very popular way to make money with Clickbank.  Some people get this wrong by spamming forums and blogs and they will soon get banned from those forums.  When using forum and blog commenting you need to be professional and make informative posts and comments.

With forums, when you become an active member of the forum and leave informative posts, you will be able to put a link to your website in your signature.  If you are making short, spamming posts then you will get banned or not be allowed to have a link in your signature.

The most important point to remember with both forum posting and blog commenting is to be helpful and contribute to the posts.

When choosing a Clickbank product to promote as an affiliate you want to choose one that will convert well and make you a lot of sales.  It is advisable to have a good solid criteria to follow when selecting a product to promote to increase your chances of choosing a profitable product.  Some of the factors you want to consider are gravity score, competition, the sales copy, commission payout, product price and repeat commissions.  Let’s take a look at each of these in more detail:

Gravity Score

When first starting out it is best to stick to products with a gravity score between 20 and 50.  These will be products that are converting and do have affiliates actively promoting them, but at the same time aren’t saturated with competition.

When you become a little more experienced with affiliate marketing, then start promoting products with a gravity score of over 50.  There will be a little more competition, but with more affiliate promoting these products they are likely to be better converting products.

Don’t promote anything with a gravity score below 20 as these are not likely to convert well.

Competition

You should look at how much competition there is for promoting a particular product.  You don’t want too much competition but at the same time you don’t want zero competition.

If you look at the Pay Per Click ads on Google and see there are no ads for that product then chances are that people have tried to promote that product without success.  If there are PPC ads for that product then those people must be seeing some success to continue to pay for advertising.

So zero competition usually means there is no demand for that product.  So even though you don’t want too much competition, you do want some competition.

Sales Copy

The gravity score is not the only way to evaluate whether a product will convert well.  In fact, gravity scores can’t always be relied on as some vendors will boost their gravity score by selling their product through a number of their own Clickbank accounts.

It is always advisable to check out the sales page of the product you are considering promoting so you can decide whether you think it would convert well.  Generally, if you read the sales page and it makes you want to buy the product yourself, then it will be a good sales page.  If a sales page does nothing for you and you have no interest in the product at all after reading it, then it might not be a very good converting sales page.

Commission Payout and Product Price

When choosing a product to promote you want to look at the price of the product and how much of that you will receive in commission.  If a product pays out only a small commission then it might not be worth promoting. You don’t want to put in a lot of effort for very little return.

Higher priced products will pay out a higher commission and are often just as easy to sell as lower priced products.  If a product has a good gravity score then it might be worth trying to promote it.  It is better to promote a higher priced product that pays out well than promoting a lower priced product that pays out less than $20 per sale.

Repeat Commissions

Another factor that makes a product good to promote is if it has the opportunity for repeat commissions.  This might occur with a product that has a membership site where a customer will pay a monthly membership fee and you can earn a commission every month on that membership fee.  It doesn’t take any extra effort to promote a membership product than it does to promote a one time payment product so you might as well go for one that will pay you commission every month.

Conclusion

When looking for a good Clickbank affiliate product to promote, take into consideration a gravity between 20 and 50, not too much competition but still a little, high commission payout, a good sales copy and if possible a repeat monthly commission.  If you can get a product that matches this criteria then you will have a very good product to promote and earn affiliate commissions.
