Times are hard AS ALWAYS. But we don't fret - we just try harder to dig ourselves out of own hole. Thank gosh, we are not in debt. Just living check to check. Here is what Jorge is doing these days.

This is one months worth of work - an average survey can take up to 15 minutes, a video about 1 minute, and email about 1 minute and the spins, depending how many he's earn can be about a minute. Its work and if your on a pre paid inet - it's not worth it but if you have unlimited or free Internet is very worth it if you have the time to invest. We've clipped the progress of what's made in one month above - its about 1-2 days a week because we do have a prepaid broadband and to use this much time on this paid site - just isn't worth it, so he'd work on it when ever we made it to the library using their free signal. This is worth it too us. MyPoints just paid us $60 in food card that saved us this month and I can't be more grateful for that. I'd say keep plugging away at it and cash it in when times are hard. You just NEVER know, you can also donate your earning to someone who really does need it.... Moving Day

Moving day. However its been a hard working day. SMOKERS why must you smoke in your home? The value of your home goes down just with the smell. Red walls is our battle for the week (my week, hubby is still working his summer job) - so I am up at 3:30 am stressed about getting that odor our of our home. Paint and all of that of course makes sense - but its a rental and a wee bit tricky here. Carpet cleaning is our first order of business and a lot of wall washing fun.

I awoke before the chicken today - I so kid you not. They are all making their noise now and for me it brings back memories of farm life when I was a child.

Our first night - the landlord hosted a dinner for us. OMG can they cook... Burger where awesome. We can't thank them enough for feeding us - took a big load of stress off our backs for there is not a lick of food in our new place yet.

We even went home with eggs from both their chickens as well as from their ducks. We'll do a blog article on eggs in the next couple of days and add pictures of their farm animals.

We are on a MAJOR budget. So we'll be talking about food a lot and games and free activities we'll be doing all this winter. We have 1 year to come up with a mighty house payment for our new home. So we hope to have your support/tips/prayers/woot woot cheers and such...

We have Matthew Maguire (1882) to thank for this holiday. He is the first to come up with the idea of the celebrating day. While Oregon was the first to celebrate the day.
However fast forward a century later and most of us have to work this holiday. So much has changed. We choose to work today because of the nature of our business. We may make a paycheck today but tomorrow may be a different story.

Kids have a different view of the holiday all together - to them is means SCHOOL. By now all schools have started or will start tomorrow in with tradition of starting after Labor Day.

Here is our proof of Labor in which when sold, helps us earn our new home in 364 (yes we started our new plan Sept 1st).

Bulldogs have been a passion of mine for about six or seven years now. It all started when my sister Allegra got a Bulldog. My entire family including myself fell in love with this perfect little dog despite her special traits: smash-faced, chubby, stinky, and loud at night due to snoring. As part of my graduation from college my mom and dad bought me a puppy, my six year old English Bulldog named Bronte, and I continue to fall in love with Bulldogs each time I see her. I find Bulldogs to be fascinating and hilarious and they have become my inspiration for the unique handmade art that I offer in my shop.

Know Your RV Weight

Know your RV weights....

GVWR - Gross Vehicle Weight Rating
This is the maximum total weight the vehicle and its contents or trailer and its contents is allowed to weigh according to the design specifications of the manufacturer. Don't go over the GVWR!

GCWR - Gross Combined Weight Rating
This is the maximum total combined weight that the vehicle and anything it is pulling is allowed to weigh according to the design specifications of the manufacturer. This rating can also be used as a gauge for what towing performance might be like. The closer you get to this rating, the worse towing performance may get, especially in windy or hilly conditions.

GAWR - Gross Axle Weight Rating
The maximum weight that can be carried by the axle, including the tire and wheel.

UVW - Unloaded Vehicle Weight
Sometimes referred to as "dry weight", this is what the vehcile or RV is supposed to weigh empty. It also usually (but not always) implies a "basic" or "standard" model...no optional equipment.

TW - Tongue Weight
This is how much weight is on the trailer tongue and is usually measured when the trailer is empty.

NCC - Net Carrying Capacity
This is how much additional (cargo) weight the vehicle or RV can carry. Be careful with this one though. The manufacturers use a simple formula...GVWR minus UVW...to come up with this one, so it doesn't include the weight of any optional equipment.

WHY? - An RV is illegally overloaded when it exceeds gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR),
- When you slam your brakes with illegal overlead weight leads to blowouts, result to a blown out tire which is particularly dangerous while the vehicle is moving.

Weight Stations are just not for 18-wheelers folks.... Get weighed and get legal can lead up to a long life ahead of you. Also if you see an overweight RV stay beyond far from that vehicle and pray for them.

RV Communication Tips

I understand that these tips may or may not work for you. With that said, let me whine for a moment and say. We make a living from our on-line stores so communication/access is so important to us.

We did the whole 2 year contract thing, and it did not work for us, half the time we are parked for month on end with no signal but yet had a $240 bill every month no matter what. So we chucked the contracts and went pre-paid. And it so works for us.

I pay $90 a month for the Mifi and $30 a month for simple cell phone service that include 1000 messages. That's $120 a month and its a savings for us. When we are in a non-signal area for months at a time, we are able to shut our service down with no worries and we are good.

We use Verizon for our computers/kindle and we use Straight Talk for our phone service
