While my skin is generally good, clear and problem free, I do find that as I get older, the pores on my inner cheeks are more dilated, and usually, at the end of the day when I remove makeup, I find debris or whiteheads trapped in them. Foundation tends to sink into those pores as well. I didn't expect any products to actually shrink pore size (which I was told was not possible), but I needed a product to at least fill the pores so the foundation/makeup won't settle in them. After a bit of research and reading some reviews, I decided to buy Shiseido Aqualabel Moist Coat Essence, which costs US$18 (plus US$2 shipping by registered mail) on Adambeauty.com, one of my favourite go-to places for Japanese goodies.

I don't usually buy Lavshuca makeup, because it's a younger brand meant for younger girls (I do own the Fairy Candy Cheeks which are powder balls for cheeks). But I really wanted a shimmery green eyeshadow, and the new Candy Pop Shadow looks so cute I just have to have it! I bought this from Adambeauty.com for US$9.50. It is tiny, and comes in a little tin can.

I bought this product solely because it claims to minimize the appearance of pores, and that I needed a higher SPF than 15 as a base. (I would have preferred to have at least SPF30) Kanebo Coffret D'or Full Keep Base UV EX just came out weeks ago, the EX version being an upgrade from last year's; and I bought it at ichibankao.com for about US$38.00, which I received in just 4 business days.

This is one of my recent Ichibankao haul. I bought just the refill, which came with a dual sided makeup sponge, one side of which has a fuzzy velour texture and the other side a regular latex sponge; I already had a Shiseido Integrate Gracy compact case and thank goodness this one fits right in!

When it comes to makeup colors, I am more of a Bobbi Brown kind of girl. I don't like vivid colors - I like to wear neutral, everyday shades. In my staples of eyeshadows there will always be a flesh tone color, a shade close to my skin tone but slightly lighter just to brighten my eyes, neutralize any redness on my lids (from allergies) and so on. My all time favorite shade is actually from Bobbi Brown - Bone - but it's also a little more than I want to spend! And I came across Clinique Color Surge Eye Shadows, which sounded promising. I like that the shade French Vanilla looks like what I want, and is hypoallergenic. The price is US$15/CAD$19, the cheapest of most of the brands I like, cheaper than Bobbi Brown. Let's see how it measures up!

This is L'Occitane's purifying line for normal to oily skin. I had this since last summer, when I bought it on sale at a L'Occitane store for 40% off. Though I don't have oily skin, the discount was good and I thought I would use it for the summer, but it lasted months so it was a very good deal!

I first tried this primer on the back of my hand last year at a Sephora store, and I really liked the finish. So when I ran out of my Sofina Primavista and Tarte primers, I bought Too Faced Primed & Poreless Skin Smoothing Face Primer at Sephora. In Canada this is a bit more expensive even though our dollar is near parity - CAD$38, it's definitely not cheap, and I had high hopes for it!

Lancome Hypnose mascara (the original version) had long been a personal favorite of mine, my HG mascara. Nothing else really came close to it; it curls, volumizes and lengthens to crazy effects like no other. I got this as my 100-point reward at Sephora last year and waited till all my other mascaras are used up; and now, I finally tried the new Hypnose Doll Lashes Mascara. Let's see how it fares against the original!

This is a brand new product from Kanebo's KATE line. I bought it from Ichibankao.com and received it within 4 business days, which was super fast and I had become highly addicted to shopping from them lately! I needed something more pigmented than a luminizer to brighten up the inner corners of my eyes to combat telltale signs of sleep deprivation, and something that won't irritate my very sensitive eyes. The price is good and the shades (in 2 shades: this one in beige and another one in pink) can't go wrong.
