இதில் நானும் என் தோட்டத்தில் பணிபுரிபவரும் பார்த்த வேலைகளுக்கான கூலி எதுவும் சேர்க்கப்படவில்லை.ரசாயன உரம், பூச்சி விக்ஷம் ஆகியவை பயன்படுத்தவில்லை. இவற்றைப் பயன்படுத்துவது பாவம் செய்வதாகும் என்ற நம்பிக்கை எனக்கு உண்டு. இதனால்தான் கிராமத்தில் எனக்கு நான் சொன்ன பேர் வைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது என்பதை தயை செய்து குறித்துக்கொள்ளுங்கள்.

மேலும், இந்த சாகுபடி நடந்த காலத்தில் நான் வருமானம் தரக்கூடிய வேறெந்த வேலையும் செய்யவில்லை. விவசாயமும் ஒரு வருவாய் ஆதாரம் என்பதும், வேறெந்த வேலையைக் காட்டிலும் இதில் புண்ணியம் சேரும் என்பதும் என் நம்பிக்கை. இதனால்தான் நகரத்தில் எனக்கு நான் சொன்ன பேர் வைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது என்பதையும் தயை செய்து குறித்துக்கொள்ளுங்கள்.

My 'no movie month' - Jan 2010

There were days in the history when movies were made to inspire good will and good virtues in human beings. You got certainly benefited seeing a movie. Since it went boring, slowly the entertainment came into it. Now cinema is virtually entertainment only. (Now it looks like even press has learned this money making lesson from cinema).

I stay in Chennai, India. I see cinema ads on the walls, inside state buses, pasted outside state buses, so almost everywhere i turned. Even the good quality newspapers like 'The Hindu' almost virtually does not come without a cinema news or a few tons of cinema advertisements. I wonder why it should be so important (money is important for them right?).

Worser than all, even government here takes care to give awards to cinemas without clearly stating why the awards are being given or how the society has been benefited by the awarded cinema (it is the people who pay all the [award]money through taxes).

So it is very clear that how much the society here has been influenced by cinema, without any proper ground or logic. Have we all forgotten that cinema is only acting? If we realize, how would we make them our life heroes? How would we spend so much time keep talking about them? I stop here.

I do not know how many got affected by this. I did get affected. I felt the influence. I found myself seeing too many movies, sometimes forgetting other 'more important' things. So i decided to stop this (if i can't, it seemed like i am a slave to it) and control it in my arms. I announced a 'no movie month' for myself. I decided to see no movie in Jan 2010 (actually it started nearly in Dec 20, 2009 - so for nearly 40 days). Many tempting releases occurred near this time frame (Avatar, Vijay's Vettaikaran [I like Vijay] etc).

I withstood against them all and did come out successfully. I am yet to see a film after that.

I feel the temptation to see movies has decreased considerably. Now i have decided to see only one movie per month (one good worth movie that i find) [I am not going to work in cinema industry to see films all the time to learn their arts]. Now i will not see a movie just because I saw too many ads and got influenced by it. I will see a movie because I chose to see it. Now I don't get controlled by the media or the mass power of a cinema hero(ine), I control it.

I am happier.

Who can buy a car?

This morning (14 June 2008), driving thru my street (in Velachery, Chennai) on my bike was unusually much harder.

I was seeing one of my wildest dreams coming true. Almost there was no space on the street for the vehicles to move. Reason : Many cars are parked on the side way blocking almost half of the street.

This is unusual. Not sure, may be some function in one of the houses in the street

My thought was, what would happen if similarly all cars are parked on the street in every street? (Tata Nano is coming!)

Cars are getting cheaper. Adding to this, more international brands are coming in.

Result:
1. More and more cars.
2. More advertisements.
3. More money for the car makers, models and advertisers.
4. More money for the governments in the form of fuel purchase and taxes.
5. Lesser purity in the air we breathe and thus every one is loosing their basic right to inhale pure air (even cigarrete smokers influence this)
6. Lesser space on the road and people lossing their basic right to walk freely on the road (this has happened already in Chennai almost).

Government and people should already be thinking about all these things. Would be nice if something is done before worser things happen.

Coming to the question I asked : Who can buy a car?

Question 1 : How can a person be allowed to buy a car if he doesn't have money pay for registration and insurance?
Answer: Who allowed it? Have you gone nuts?
I'm Sorry, I should not have asked that question!

Question 2 : How can a person be allowed to buy a car if he doesn't have space to park his car at home?
Answer: ???

I would say if a person doesn't have space to park his car inside his house where he stays, he should not be allowed to buy a car (this thought should be developed well to fit well legally). Otherwise people will keep dumping their car on the street ways and will keep blocking others passing thru the way. Is this not encroachment?

Will government authorities look at this?

my google app search

I was using a google app long before. For some reason, i was not able to take a look at it for a few months. Forgot its name, felt a bit lazy to try to remember (very much the outcome of all sophisticated softwares, search engines - making man as lazy and as comfortable as possible). A hope looked like dawned. I remember a list of apps displayed somewhere by google. I searched using google - 'all google apps', 'google app list' etc, etc ... I found this page which i expected http://www.google.com/options/ I went thru the list one by one, only to find out that the app i looked for did not exist.

Was surprised that the google app list and google search did not come to my aid... My friend 'brain', finally helped me remember what i wanted, i got it.... it was 'google analytics'. I typed analytics.google.com and google dutifully forwarded it to google.com/analytics and... i was able to find all the information i wanted there. cool(ness?)!

I was really amazed how this app was removed from the list...

I could not understand what was google's plan about how users would search and find out these apps. Are these 'neglected' apps in google?

CRT Monitor gives better color contrast than plasma monitor ?

I use plasma monitor in office (dell laptop) - which i use most of the time.

I occasionally use CRT monitor in office/home.

I find lost of color contrast difference between both. CRT monitor always gives a better, pleasant color contrast than plasma monitor. Just try.

ps: I am not aware of the difference in the eye-friendliness (vision health) between both.

tata nano explosion

I am expecting an explosion in the number of cars in India after the arrival of tata nano.

Tata Nano, is a blessing, for the middle class, that very much includes myself, when you see just with an eye of a travel convenience.

Just imagine how much more pollution will happen on the arrival of 'more and more cars'.

Tata nano should be one of the cars which the indian government should have an eye on - on the pollution levels - because it is going to explode in numbers once it is released. If this is done in the elementary levels, in the levels of formation, it will apply for all the cars which are going to be produced.

Google mail (Gmail) bug

I added a contact group (email list in yahoo) in my gmail account with 4 email addresses.

When I entered the group name, only two email ids showed up, and the mail was sent only to those two email ids.

When i checked again, it shows all the 4 email ids in the group.

This should be a bug.

'Contact Us' - You should have seen a small - gray - almost invisible link in many websites.

The very show of the link gives me a feeling 'Dont contact us'.

This has become like a mere formality.

You click it, you will get a web form to fill up - Name, email id, subject, message. After you have filled em up, you will get a message - We have recieved your message, we will contact you.

Most of the sites dont contact back, or they take infinite time.

Hello hoster............. when you keep that link, you need to reply back! May be not as an obligation. If you dont reply, why do you keep it?

Come on... some one comfort me. I went to the movie with lots of expectations. I really did not want to 'miss this one out', as I missed '23rd Pulikesi' in theatres.

I felt really bad to have 'chosen' this movie last saturday.

They have really failed trying to make our 'vedivelu' a hero on many fronts - a child lover, a play boy,.......... finally unimaginable - a preacher.................. God...... Had some smell of 'Baba'. [Hey.. Hey.. only a slight smell ya............ I am not comparing......... dont get furious].

Songs were really out of place. May be you can watch one. Certainly not all.

Too much of anything is really good for nothing.

Ok, let me stop complaining....

I have read your post with great interest. Guess there are lots of girls out there who have similar questions like yours. Please allow me to analyse your situation as a professional investor. My annual income is more than $500k, which meets your requirement, so I hope everyone believes that I'm not wasting time here. From the standpoint of a business person, it is a bad decision to marry you. The answer is very simple, so let me explain. Put the details aside, what you're trying to do is an exchange of "beauty" and "money": Person A provides beauty, and Person B pays for it, fair and square. However, there's a deadly problem here, your beauty will fade, but my money will not be gone without any good reason. The fact is, my income might increase from year to year, but you can't be prettier year after year. Hence from the viewpoint of economics, I am an appreciation asset, and you are a depreciation asset. It's not just normal depreciation, but exponential depreciation. If that is your only asset, your value will be much worried 10 years later.

Ans: Increased awareness has increased incidents. Also, edentary lifestyles, smoking, junk food, lack of exercise in a country where people are genetically three times more vulnerable for heart attacks than Europeans and Americans.

Qn: Is it possible for a person to have BP outside the normal range of 120/80 and yet be perfectly healthy?

Ans: Yes.

Qn: Marriages within close relatives can lead to heart problems for the child. Is it true?

Ans : Yes, co-sanguinity leads to congenital abnormalities and you may not have a software engineer as a child

Qn: Many of us have an irregular daily routine and many a times we have to stay late nights in office. Does this affect our heart ? What precautions would you recommend?

Ans : When you are young, nature protects you against all these irregularities. However, as you grow older, respect the biological clock.

Ans: Every race is vulnerable to some disease and unfortunately, Indians are vulnerable for the most expensive disease.

Qn: Does consuming bananas help reduce hypertension?

Ans : No.

Qn: Can a person help himself during a heart attack (Because we see a lot of forwarded emails on this)?

Ans : Yes. Lie down comfortably and put an aspirin tablet of any description under the tongue and ask someone to take you to the nearest coronary care unit without any delay and do not wait for the ambulance since most of the time, the ambulance does not turn up.

Qn: Do, in any way, low white blood cells and low hemoglobin count lead to heart problems?

Ans : No. But it is ideal to have normal hemoglobin level to increase your exercise capacity.

Qn: Sometimes, due to the hectic schedule we are not able to exercise. So, does walking while doing daily chores at home or climbing the stairs in the house, work as a substitute for exercise?

Ans : Certainly. Avoid sitting continuously for more than half an hour and even the act of getting out of the chair and going to another chair and sitting helps a lot.

Qn: Is there a relation between heart problems and blood sugar?

Ans: Yes. A strong relationship since diabetics are more vulnerable to heart attacks than non-diabetics.

Qn: What are the things one needs to take care of after a heart operation?

Ans : Diet, exercise, drugs on time , Control cholesterol, BP, weight.

Qn: Are people working on night shifts more vulnerable to heart disease when compared to day shift workers?

Ans : No.

Qn: What are the modern anti-hypertensive drugs?

Ans : There are hundreds of drugs and your doctor will chose the right combination for your problem, but my suggestion is to avoid the drugs and go for natural ways of controlling blood pressure by walk, diet to
reduce weight and changing attitudes towards lifestyles.

Qn: Does dispirin or similar headache pills increase the risk of heart attacks?

Ans : No.

Qn: Why is the rate of heart attacks more in men than in women?

Ans : Nature protects women till the age of 45.

Good examples from the lord Jesus Christ.

The religion 'Christianity' came into being only after the life of Christ. In the Bible, only after the life of Jesus Christ the followers of Jesus where called as Christians (Acts 11:26).

Jesus Christ himself belonged to the religion of Jews (a caste/sect as well). The new testament of the Holy Bible records that these preists (of Jesus times) were themsleves perverted and they knew every way to keep people within their bounds specifying the religious rules (they called their own rules as religious rules).

Here is a funny rule specified in the Bible called 'Corban'. Hear the words right from Jesus (Mark 7:9-13).

9And he(Jesus) said to them: "You have a fine way of setting aside the commands of God in order to observe^[c] your own traditions! 10For Moses said, 'Honor your father and your mother,'^[d] and, 'Anyone who curses his father or mother must be put to death.'^[e] 11But you say that if a man says to his father or mother: 'Whatever help you might otherwise have received from me is Corban' (that is, a gift devoted to God), 12then you no longer let him do anything for his father or mother. 13Thus you nullify the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And you do many things like that."

Those priests said 'You need not take care of your parents. Give some offering to the temple and leave. It will still be taken as you obeyed God'. How profane and crooked they were?

We could see Jesus correcting the rules of the so called religion.

What I could percieve from here is : the rules of the religion are written only as guide lines, not to JUST follow them.

13Then he said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." So he stretched it out and it was completely restored, just as sound as the other. 14But the Pharisees went out and plotted how they might kill Jesus.

What i would like to stress here is : Religion is from God!, not from your priests and leaders. With respect to the religion, God is the only leader.

We see lots of perversions, misconceptions regarding religion because we hear from our priests more rather than sit and read our religious books (Bible, Vedas, Qur'an etc).

Dont want to say that all priests are wrong (still we see many are wrong. they run a big business in the name of religion). I stress to excercise your power of choice - on what to choose to follow. Not to simply follow everything that they say.

Cinema goes more than JUST entertaining

If you want to be real to yourself, stop saying 'Cinema is entertainment' or 'I go to cinema for entertainment'.

Now the lifestyle really runs on cinema. Young minds (which make the majority part of the population) just get affected by cinema. Their dressings, foods, habits etc are commanded (mentally) by their favourite hero/heroine. They look ugly to themsleves if they dont follow the style of their hero.

The movie 'sivaji' is a live example.

It seems the film distributors have 'learnt' how to market cinema thru this film (looks like they did not know before). Look forward to see more impact of cinema in the society.

If that is the case, its upto people to welcome/protest things they see in cinema.

Sivaji craze in offices

4 working days (13, 14, 15, 16 June 2007) went like holidays in our office. All over there were only talks about the movie - Sivaji, how to book tickets etc.

550 tickets relased by the company got over within 60 seconds, with many not getting tickets for their dream show.

Bad comments keep coming in the net, blogs etc (here is a nice analysis). But who cares. Even the person who hates, just keeps talking. In my team they just couldn't stop even after hearing the boss (my team boss) yelling at them 'hey stop'.
