It was pulled from iTunes because of Amazon’s API contract excluding mobile phones or other handheld devices. Since the iPhone app syncs data from the desktop version of DL2, which gets its data from Amazon, it breaks the rule — in a roundabout way.

That really sucks, so I’m glad I already download the app. I love having all my stuff available to me on my phone so I know what CDs or video games I already own and who’s borrowing them.

This just seems silly and unnecessary. Does this rule apply to netbooks? How does Amazon define a “handheld device”? I’d like to know Amazon’s reasoning behind this and if they plan on letting DL2 back into the iTunes store.

I wonder if Pocketpedia will get pulled too. I’m gonna download that one also, just in case.
