Meredith & I couldn’t have asked for a better kick off to our Fling Sessions. The weather was overcast and the heat was behaving itself. All that we had to contend with were a few rascally bugs and our allergies. Our first shoot was for a couple of brothers. In true boy fashion, they came armed with waterless water guns and boorish bodily functions at the ready. And their expressions? Priceless.

I was worried that we may not be able to put these two young lads at ease in the short amount of time we had but they both are such awesome characters that they could not help but be entertaining.

Next up was a family of five. Coordinated in blue and sweet as could be, we lost track of time running around the yard with this clan. It was completely delightful!

Look honey… the kids are growing up! * sigh*

Jazzercise Headshots

As some of you may know, I am a Jazzercise Instructor in Haymarket, Virginia. I teach classes there with ten other fabulous instructors and over the past few weeks, I have had the pleasure of taking their picture as well.

I am creating a Instructor Headshot Wall which will be on display inside the Jazzercise Center. I’ll post a picture of the wall in its entirety once it is complete.

These are just a few of my favorites shots.

Let’s Get Manual

We are having a little party at Tagaloo in June…okay, it’s more like a class but it is sure to be a blast.

We’re looking for a group of ten women who have a digital SLR camera and the burning desire to learn how to take amazing pictures. We all know how a big camera feels when you hold it in your hands but the heavy, hard to understand manual? Not so much.

At Joslyn Place Photography, we make it our business to use natural light to capture priceless images of your family but before we became a company, we were moms who simply yearned to use our cameras better. Sound like you? Read on.

During this 2 week session, we will meet for 3 hours each Saturday morning to talk exposure, aperture, shutter speed and all that goes into taking your best photograph. We will go outside to use our cameras each class and you will have some optional weekly assignments to keep you busy during the week as well as help you hone your new mad skills. Instructors will be available online for feedback and support should you have any questions.

Dates: June 19 and June26 @ 8-11am

Bianca goes to school with my little boy, Henry. That’s how I got lucky enough to spend a few minutes with these young ladies. And as gussied up and precious us as they were, these girls got down on the ground, ran after dandelions, chucked them hither and yon, jumped over the stream and played hard. Kids and spring are unstoppable and perfect.

Meet Bianca. Henry can’t even say her name without smiling. She’s in the middle. So is Henry. They must have so much to talk about.

Meet the oldest sister, Eva.
