I don't know when it got started. If yawning is contagious, I would argue food cravings can be contagious too. The devil living inside me has an increasing tolerance and appetite for Sichuan food ever since I moved back to Hong Kong. In Paris, there's no such thing as walking in a fancy restaurant for a impromptu meal. Everything needs to be planned, and since most restaurants are not big in scale (at most 20 tables), serving one round per dinner and lunch, it is not hard to imagine how difficult it is to secure a table at highly ranked restaurants.
