Hello... I Have Been Busy For The Past 6 Months!

Hi,

I have been so busy keeping my blogs updated and also caring for my mother who had a stroke a few months ago.

My income has been constant as I did not manage to find the time to push up my potential earnings but just to maintain it only.

However, my friend who started blogging with me has double his income before the year is ending!

So bottom line, one must be focus and also put in sufficient effort to see your earnings grow too!

But I am glad to say that I still managed to maintain a constant income despite my spending some time caring for my aged parents and other distractions within the family.

With so much distractions, I am not able to do much but will have to review my strategy and do some forward planning now for year 2010.

So seriously, my friends, you can definitely make some income from IM but you have to start NOW.........

And then slowly make your income grow with time as there is no magic formula or overnight success but pure hard work like any other job.

Hi,

If you have not done anything yet about your Internet Marketing business then you have to act now!

After working on my Internet Marketing business for slightly more than a year, the stream of income is coming in slowly now. Though it may not be sufficient to replace a proper income yet but if I work hard on it, I am confident it will grow slowly.

So my advice to you is that if you are serious about going into Internet Marketing business, you have to take action and start now. It is going to take some months before you can see some income coming in and then you have to grow it.

Blogging is a basic skill that you need to start to work on and it will help you in your IM business.

One more important thing that you should also note is that you should not worry about writing perfect English. Use features like spelling check etc....

Commission Junction - My First Sale

Hi,

I was going through my affiliate programmes that I have joined and I was surprised to find that I have made my first sale with Commission Junction in Jan 2009.

A commission of $10.00 !

Wow.....

This is after one year of effort though.

It seems that 2009 is a good year for me as I started to have a steady stream of income from my Text Ad Link on a monthly basis.

The challenge is to put in more effort to increase such income from the different streams like ClickBank and Google Adsense too.

So I have to worked harder too and push up my income for 2009 and beyond.

ClickBank - Dormant Accounts Policy

Hi,

I just realised that my ClickBank account have been debited $1 for the past two months so I wrote to them to enquire on the debits.

I just got their reply and I was initially taken aback by their policy on dormant accounts.

I think it is important to share it with you as follows:

"Dormant Accounts

Accounts with a positive balance but no earnings for an extended period of time are considered dormant. Dormant accounts are subject to a charge of $1 per pay period after 90 days of inactivity, $5 per pay period after 180 days of inactivity, and $15 per pay period after 365 days of inactivity."

Well, It looks like if I do not get anymore sales, I will eventually lose all my income. However, I suppose they are charging me for administrative charges if I am not active.

But the sad truth is that I am active but not making any sales for the past 3 months!

So my friends, please be aware of it when you sign up with ClickBank as you will have to make an average sale every 3-4 months to keep what you have earned otherwise they will be debitted slowly ove a long period of time.

So I have to push my sales up and not lose my income and meet the threshold value so that they will issue me a cheque.

Be motivated and not lose hope if you are in a similar position.

My New Income Stream - Text Link Ad

After one year of blogging, one of my sites was approved and a text link ad was sold to my site.

In Jan 09, I got an income of about USD6 and estimated USD10 for month of February 09.

So I look forward to some constant income from this stream of income; plus Adsense, Affiliate Marketing, etc...

So I hope by sharing this information, you are motivated to pursue your own IM initiatives accordingly.

ClickBank Cheque

As I mentioned in my earlier post, my friend ,who started with me in IM a year ago, recently received his FIRST ClickBank cheque after earning more than USD100 from his affiliate marketing initiatives.

Moving Forward Into Year 2009

Hi,

I hope you have taken advantage of my compiled Xmas giveaways and the video on how to make use of the Graphic Wizard to make an eBook cover.

I avoided participating in this year Xmas and New Year giveaways as I do not want to be distracted and subscribed to many of the 'experts' for the freebies.

If you are totally new to IM and have time to spare, then go ahead to experience it.

So what are you goals for IM this new year, 2009?

I have been thinking over the Xmas and New Year holidays and here are a few of them :

- Improve my Affiliate Marketing initiatives as I did not make any income from it last year

- Come out with at least one new product to sell

- Continue to maintain , if not improve, my Google Adsense income as it has been a bit irregular monthly

I think it is important to have some goals in mind to keep you on track but make sure it is realistic and achievable, of course.

It would be nice to say that I want to make my first million in year 2009 but it is likely to be a dream than an achievable goal, I think!

But do not stop dreaming as dream do come through later if you work on it.

So have a good year in 2009 and stay healthy too.....

P.S. BTW, I got some new income from offering one of my top traffic site to host advertisement. Very excited about it and what a way to start the new year. So it only shows that hard work will pay off eventually.

I have not be very productive this past week and distracted by other activities.

In fact, I am also taking about 5 days off in the coming week for a short break with my wife too.

Anyway, last Dec when I was quite new to Internet Marketing, I signed up with one or two IM Christmas Giveaways.

Posting Articles To Article Directories

Hi,

Time flies when you are busy at work and I have been busy uploading my articles to the article directories to direct traffic to my eBook launch website.

Traffic has increased slightly but still no sale yet!

Will continue to push traffic and see how it goes.

I may want to try my hand at creating my own product in the new year 2009. The problem is that it may not be a niche product but more of a hobby that I have been enjoying all these years. I am quite passion about it so it may be easier to do it.

Article Marketing - To Generate Traffic

Launched My Own eBook Product For Sale

Hi,

I just completed launching an eBook for sale yesterday after about 1 calendar week of work.

Just to share with you what I did... and this is one of the approaches to launch your own product for sale.

So how to create a new eBook product?

1. Either you write from scratch, something you know well or source for Private Label Rights (PLR) materials.

Of course, you should research whether you have found a niche topic to write.

In this case, I found that I have purchased some PLRs early this year and did not use it at all so I decided to make it into an eBook eventhough it is already a popular market niche. I just want to try out the approach.

So the PLRs are in WORD or text format and I have to edit it and do some formatting to make it more presentable. I also read and amend the contents, if necessary since I am familiar with the topic.

2. I then drafted a Sales Page or some may called it a Squeeze Page to market the eBook. This is the page you see when someone is trying to sell you a product.

Or copywriting is another term. I suggest you looked at a few of them on the Internet and then tried to learned their style of writing and formatting too.

You can use WORD to do a draft and then use a free tool like PageBreeze to generate the html codes. It will help if you know some basic html codes so that you can do some simple editing, if necessary.

3. Similarly, you will need to create a Payment page for the customer to use PayPal as a means of payment. You need to log onto PayPal and generate the 'Buy Now' button and copied the codes over to your Payment page.

Upon successful payment through Paypal, you must load the Download page.

4. Similarly, create a Download page for the customer to easily access the eBook on-line immediately after successful payment.

5. Upload your eBook and the 3 pages into your website or domain using ftp utility like Filezilla.

Then test the pages and make sure that the Sales Page, Payment and Download pages worked as expected.

6. Now then how do you get customers to come to your sales page?

I use US Free Ads to advertise my eBook and also another site that is based on this niche market.

I am monitoring the traffic and hope t get a few sales, at least..!

Basically, once you have mastered the setting up of the pages... you can replicate it for other new products that you can create.

If you are doing affiliate marketing ( ie. selling other people's products ), they are likely to provide you with the salespage and you need not have to create the other pages as it is all taken care of for you. Once a sale is successful, your commission will be paid to your Paypal account.

You just have to adopt an approach and then tried it. If it fails, then analyse it and see if you can refine it or try another marketing approach ....

Site Traffic Statistics

I have been reviewing my traffic statistics of all my sites to see which sites have the heaviest traffic and also to tie them to my recent earnings.

Why?

So that I spend my time wisely on what to do :

- On those popular and profitable sites, I will look into what is attracting the income and can I do more to increase it.

- Do something to those sites that are not profitable.

- Just leave those that have no traffic and no potential at all. Move on to build new sites for another market niche.

I have been enhancing my few sites and they do bring in additional or new income.

Yes, you need to do some analysis and, hopefully, you get things right and traffic + $$ will come in.

If you do not have cPanel to monitor your traffic then go and install StatCounter into your blogger site, it is FREE.

So check it out at StatCounter here, if you need it.

Here is a sample of the summary but you can get graphs too.

Better still, I get an email report weekly and monthly to monitor the movements.

Affiliate Marketing - Earnings

I thought I should also give you some indication of my earnings from Affiliate Marketing to-date.
Adsense is growing slowly and I have shared some info with you in my earlier postings so Iwill not touch on it here. In my opinion, Adsense is small income and I am now focusing on selling Affiliate products or Affiliate Marketing as the commissions are much bigger.

One commission can be as much or more than one month's Adsense income.

However, there are a few gurus who specialized Adsense and claim to be making good income from it. You can check that out, if this is your interest.

I only made one sale in Oct......sigh!

Either I chose the wrong affiliate product or not doing the promotion correctly....?

Ideally, it should look like this; a snapshot I took from one of the more successful Affiliate Marketer.

This is my target....!

I have also just created an eBook for sale and strategizing how to sell it.....

Consulting or discussing with my buddy as he has done slightly better than me in this area of business, Affiliate Marketing.

Traffic in October

Another month has passed and this is my traffic statistics :

Well, my unique visitors is only 764 compared to 925 in the previous month....sigh!

As you can see, I have been putting in more efforts in the last 3 months but still plenty of room for improvements.

Again, this figures are considered very low compared to those 'gurus' or established Internet Marketers.

So I still have a long way to go.......!

Importantly, use these figures as a guide to reflect on what you have been doing and how you can improve on them.

So hang in there if you are in the same boat as I am or if you are doing better, I am happy for you too.

Become A Squidoo Lensmaster

You may want to try out Squidoo which is similar to Blogger, and it is FREE!

Squidoo is a single page that you can write about a specific topic of interest, just like a blog too...

It is quite simple as you are guided as to what you can put in; eg. text, video, etc... It is a bit more restricted compared to Blogger but you may feel that it is guided step by step so cannot go wrong.

But how do we make money...?

Well, there are 2 ways of making money with Squidoo:

1. Splitting of income - when visitors come into your lens and click on a link leading to them to buy a product or Google Adsense, income will be generated similar to your blogging.

However, Squidoo will split this income as follows : 5% goes to charity, 50% foes to you, the lensmaster, and 45% goes to Squidoo.

2. Link it to Affiliate Product - you can use Squidoo as another avenue to direct traffic to your affiliate website or any sites that you are earning money.

The second method was taught to me by the author of the Micro Niche FInder tool when I bought it. He actually teaches you how to make $ using his tool so that you can benefit from the purchase of his tool.

Anyway, check out Squidoo here as it may suits you and it is not that difficult to use.

I have created 2 lenses and started to make some money already and also giving part of it to charity at the same time, so why not have a go at it.

Be A Member of Forums or Communities To Drive Traffic

Hi,

Besides putting videos on your site, you can also join related forums or communities and participate in their discussions etc....

But it really helps if you are genuinely interested in the topics or areas of interest...

It is also very time consuming as you have to log into the forums and try to say something sensible and not always pushing your website or product. Otherwise, you may be told off or to leave the forum or community.

I am a member of a few communities that I have some interest so it is more tolerable and I get lots of emails daily. At times, I just browse through them or delete them without reading them.

However, I did get some useful info and learned a thing or two from the members as they are genuinely willing to share their info and experiences in those areas.

I do get lucky and on a few occassions, I could also share what I know and direct them to my sites. But I am sincere about it so it helps else you may look like a saleman or a hypocrite..!

In fact, I think one of my sites suddenly got very heavy traffic and it is the 2nd highest Adsense income source now, very much to my surprise!

So if you could find a relevant forum or community to join, you may want to try out this approach.

Video Helps To Drive Traffic

Hi,

Recently, I decided to make a video for one of my sites on a niche area and I believe this video has helped drive quite a lot of traffic to my site.

If you are not familiar with video or You Tube, please go there to have a look. You can practically find almost anything there.

I was surprised that my teenage son and his friends are learning how to play guitar from You Tube.

Just a quick guide on how to cut and paste the You Tube video on your site.

I will assume that you have registered with You Tube and uploaded your video so here is how you copied the embedded code , as shown below, and then paste it into your site.

This a sample of a video that I retrieved to illustrate on what I have been talking about.

Below is the final result after I have pasted the embedded code into this posting.

A tip for you :

It is very easy to make a video today as you can do it with a digital camera that has a video function and you can easily transfer the video from the media used in the digital camera, eg SD Card, and upload it to You Tube through your PC.

You do not need to buy an expensive videocam.

I am using my son's digital camera that cost us a few hundred dollars only.

Web Hosting Options

Hi,

My friend asked me to review another web hosting company before we both sign up for Hosgator to migrate our sites.

Apparently, it could be more user friendly and may give better value for money.

I have also done a second back-up of my sql database and Wordpress files, succesfully this time! I can share this info with you once I have successful migrated my site. I actually did a simple guide for my friend to follow. Since I am more IT literate and have more time to explore, I am taking the lead in this proejct of ours.

At the same time, I have been busy reviewing my 7 sites or blogs and enhancing the layouts. Hopefully, it will get me more Adsense and Affiliate incomes; this is like revamping or redecorating your physical store but at much lesser or no cost other than your time spent on it. Of course, I also need to study my traffic patterns and see what can be done.

Also, browsing through a lot of downloaded reports etc that I got over the past year. See if I have missed out anything.....sometimes, I may get a useful tip and I will try it out. I am thinking of compiling those FREE reports etc and see if I can share them with you. Saving you some time of going through what I have been over the initial months into IM; eg subscribe to a lot of sites or 'gurus' and gettting their reports but eventually, there is no freebies as they want to sale you their products or mentoring services...ha...ha....ha...

I stop subscribing to them now and better spend my time to market my own IM business instead; eg I wrote an article and published it to the article directories yesterday to generate traffic for my new site or blog.

BTW, my friend emailed me that he just got another affiliate sale recently....! Good for him and it means I better catch up with him....ha...ha.... We keep each other updated to motivate each other... so some sort of friendly competition and we also share some tips that we believe are working for us. Though it may work for his site and not mine as we are dealing with different niche areas.

So remember to Stay Focus, Plan and DO IT...!

A $8 Lesson For You !

If you are new to IM, you may want to consider investing $8 to make this purchase and learned form him some techniques; eg. his sale page, landing page, payment going through Paypal, etc.....

I have bought something from Roth when I first started and I think you need to spend some money as part of your learning process. Anything below $10 is reasonable if you believe you can get something out of it.

Below is his sale pitch ...
