This version of JourneyMap is identical to the last (1.5.2).  It has simply been recompiled to work with the new Minecraft source code.

• Biome coloration now at the block level instead at the chunk level (smoother transitions)
• Ice is now semi-transparent and reveals the terrain beneath

The only fly in the ointment is that I still don’t have a workaround for multiworld multiplayer servers.  Your maps will still overwrite each other if you are on a server that uses WorldPortal or MultiVerse.   I play on servers that use these, so believe me I’m trying everything I can think of to solve this problem.   We really need the Minecraft server to make the world seed available again so I can tell when you’ve teleported.

The bad news for JourneyMap is that I was using the world seed to tell one world apart from another for multi-world servers.   So if your server uses MultiVerse or something like it, I’ve lost the most reliable way to tell when you have teleported / warped to a different world.

I’m sorry to say I missed this little feature change in JourneyMap 1.5.1, so anybody using that version on a multi-world server has two problems:

1.  All your old map data is now in a directory name with a world seed that JourneyMap can no longer discover.

2.  You are now getting map data in a directory name with a world seed of “0″ (zero), regardless of how many worlds are actually on the server.  This means that every time you change worlds, your new map data is overwriting your old map data.

Bummer.

For now, the not-great-but-better-than-giving-up option I’m trying is to create a hash from the unique placement of bedrock at the world’s spawnpoint.  This works in some circumstances, but there are other issues I won’t go into.

Sorry for the hassle / bad news.  I don’t know if I’ll be able to get noticed, but I’m going to appeal to Jeb and ask for a unique world ID that the client can see.  I won’t hold my breath waiting for it, but it can’t hurt to ask.

If you are fluent in a language other than English and would like to provide a translation, please check the list below and see if I have a translation for your language yet. Ideally, I would like two people per language – the first volunteer to do the initial translation, the second to review it and verify its accuracy. (If you want to provide a translation not on the list, just let me know.)

I have appreciated the hosting provided by dev.bukkit, but it isn’t a perfect fit for several reasons… One of them is that JourneyMap doesn’t actually use Bukkit anywhere.  So I’ll have the web stuff on the new domain and – for now – keep the actual files on dev.bukkit.  That gives visibility to the Curse network, so it’s a good thing.
