I used to paint in oils and have great admiration for those who... I've started taking some of my images and working with them using my software [Aperture, Color Efex Pro, Photoshop Elements] and attempting to make them more 'painterly'.  I used to paint in oils and have great admiration for those who do, there's no substitute.  But there are times I much prefer something less 'perfect' and want to create something more abstract-seeming.  This is one of these and I'll be putting up a few more over time:

I was in Venice in January 2008 and with a photographer-mentor visited a gondola repair shop on Giudecca.  This image is of a workman's jacket hanging on the iconic metal prow of a gondola.  The actual image is more black & white, but I played with it a bit and it looks pretty good in bluish tones but also sepia or others.
