You may remember this ridiculously STUNNING couple from their Los Angeles engagement shoot last year! Ambra & Aaron were married at the gorgeous Scarritt-Bennett Center near Downtown Nashville. Then we were off to the Hutton Hotel for their reception. Ambra & Aaron’s wedding was such a great reflection of their personalities- smart, stylish and sophisticated, but not stuffy. When it came time to party and celebrate their marriage, they had no problem cutting loose, especially on the dance floor! I’m so grateful to have been a part of such an incredible day! I’d been looking forward to working with Mary Alice Sublett of A Delightful Day Event Planning for quite some time, and this wedding created the perfect opportunity to do so! Congrats, Ambra & Aaron, and thanks for allowing me to share in such an amazing day!

Autumn & Kyle are incredibly unique and beautiful people! This is perhaps the most laid back couple I have ever photographed. They exchanged vows in the quaint King’s Chapel in Franklin, Tennessee. Autumn walked down the aisle barefoot to bluegrass music strumming in the background. Love that! This happened to be a VERY special wedding for us because Kyle’s mom, Karen, is a very big part of our lives. Karen, aka “Ms. Karen” is a dear family friend who helps us with our boys during this very busy time in our lives. If you happen to be a working mom, you know the immensity of this role. Ms. Karen is the true definition of a Godsend, and we couldn’t imagine our lives now without her! We have tremendous love for Karen and her husband, Jack, and they’ve truly become family to us.

That being said, shooting this wedding sort of felt like when I photographed by brother’s wedding eight years ago. Just a joy to be around such special people. Both Autumn and Kyle come from amazing families, and this wedding was really a result of the creative collaboration of those closest to them. All of the decorations, flowers, bouquets, corsages, centerpieces, etc. were made by Autumn’s parents and five siblings. Even the food was catered by her cousins. They all did a fantastic job! It’s weddings like these that are a great reminder of what this special occasion is really all about. It was an amazing and beautiful day, and I feel blessed to be the one who captured it. Congratulations, Autumn and Kyle!

Wow! What month is it?? We just took some time off for some much needed family time, and now I’m BACK and ready to hit the ground running with lots of incredible shoots to share! Every summer we block off some time to make sure we get up to my parent’s house on Bainbridge Island, WA. This year, we stopped through Denver first to spend a couple of days with David’s side of the family. One of my favorite times to shoot is when the sun first peaks through the clouds just after a storm. We just happened to have one of those magical moments in Colorado, so we gathered all the cousins together to take advantage of it. I love what this shot represents in our lives right now: sunshine after the storm!

Introducing….the beautiful baby Kylie!! Baby Kylie is the product of one of my favorite 2008 couples, Evelyn and Louis. You might remember seeing Evelyn’s maternity shoot a few months back…she’s GORGEOUS! I was so excited to finally meet this little pumpkin, and could not stop smiling while I was editing these pictures. It’s amazing to be such an intimate part of this journey with a couple…such a blessing!!! Evelyn and Louis, I just adore you both and I’m so proud of the incredible parents that you have become!! xox

From our very first phone call (over a year ago), I just knew that Heather & Brendan were the perfect match for us! David and I had such a blast with these two in Lancaster, Pennsylvania…aka Amish Country. It was a surreal day exploring the beautiful amish farmlands, and discovering abandoned barns and buildings that seemed to be begging for someone to come and take pictures in them. These two are my dream couple to shoot; totally in love and completely trusting of my crazy ideas…braving rotting wood floors, questionable ceilings and 25ft hay bales, all to get the best shot. I am so super excited for their wedding at the beautiful Cairnwood Mansion later this summer. It was so hard to narrow these down, but here’s a few of my favorites…

Wow, Lauren & David had such an incredible wedding! These two have such a sweet and honest love for each other. The way David looks at Lauren is enough to melt your heart! I found myself smiling all day just knowing that these two wonderful people have found each other, and will be spending the rest of their lives together. Their fabulous ceremony and reception were held at the regal Biltmore Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. It was a day where I was able to witness a couple confirming their deep love, and watch the joining of two wonderful families. Lauren & David, I’m honored to have been part of such a monumental occasion! I’m so grateful to my incredible client, and now friend, Candace Lee, for connecting me with Lauren & David.

I just love these rings that have been passed down from David's family. The inscription means: "I am beloved and my beloved is mine." Love it!!

When I have clients tell me they don’t like getting their picture taken…I REALLY get it!! I’m soooo much more comfortable creating the art than being the subject of it. Here’s a little secret, ONLY use a photographer that you feel super comfortable around! When David and I talked about getting some pictures taken on our 13th wedding anniversary, I knew Jillian Bisinger was that girl for me! Jill is a good friend of ours, and a super talented artist. It’s a good experience for every photographer to get on the other side of the camera. It really shows you how important it is to have that trust with each other in order to get the intimate, vulnerable shots. I am a strong believer that every couple, at every age, should take time out in their relationship to document their love. When I look through the pictures from this shoot, it makes me so grateful that 13 years ago I said “I do” to the most incredible man I’ve ever met. Jill, thanks for the AMAZING pics.
