A recent report by measuringusability.com highlighted this importance by showing that when users' first website click is down the right path, 87% eventually succeed, but when they click down an incorrect path, only 46% eventually succeed.
why pay for SEO services?

We are often asked by our customers why they should pay for Search Engine Marketing (SEO) services when the content management systems (CMS) we deliver with our websites provide the capability for the customer to create and edit page content (including usage of header tags), meta tags and page titles. All of these elements can be used to add keyword phrases to website pages, which effects SEO, and it is a common belief that this is all you need to do to rank well for your keywords in Google.

Be they Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, foursquare, Flickr, Google Local, Google Maps, TrueLocal, Yellow Pages online, other Aussie local sites, Yahoo, MySpace, StumbleUpon, Delicious, Tumblr, Digg, Reddit, and of course blogging, each requires consideration as to whether your business should be exposed on it.

Our goal is not to add to the hype, but to see through it, and give you an objective view, so that you can make decisions based on information, not sensation!

It has been another interesting month in the mobile phone world. Apple CEO Steve Jobs admitted that his company isn’t perfect in reference to the well publicised iPhone 4 issues, which was news to many Mac devotees. Meanwhile the upcoming Windows 7 Phone was previewed this month amongst speculation that every Microsoft employee would be supplied with one of their own. A few years ago Microsoft reportedly banned their employees from using iPods, I wonder if they will ban iPhones too.

Welcome to Tech Talk, where we take a quick look at the technological picture in Australia, and what it means to business. Our goal is not to add to the hype, but to see through it, and give you an objective view, so that you can make decisions based on information, not sensation!

To look at the market right now, the Apple logo seems to be everywhere. In fact, you could be forgiven for thinking that we are living in an i-age, and the release of the long awaited iPad and iPhone 4gS has done nothing to challenge this perception. The question is, are these products just great looking, wonderfully marketed toys, or do they actually stack up when it comes to performance? Well, here’s a very brief look at the latest Apple releases and an exciting advancement from Google.

As a business, do you know if you are running the right technology and utilising all of the functionality available to you? Are you legally licensed? Is your network secure from internal and external attacks? Should you be considering virtualisation, thin client or cloud computing technologies?
e-newsletter tips

Electronic Newsletters are a great way to communicate with your business contacts in a targeted and cost effective fashion. Below are some tips for creating an e-newsletter campaign that we use at Joyer as part of our process.

Have a Strategy

The first thing you should do for any e-newsletter campaign is create a strategy. It doesn’t need to be a 10 page detailed plan, but be enough to clarify the intent of the campaign and how you will achieve and measure its success.
