Today we’d like to share some tooltip styles and effects with you.
Tooltips are normally used for providing some kind of extra information
and they can be found in almost every website. Those tiny little helpers
offer a great opportunity to add some subtle and unique effects to any
design. So today we want to show you some possibilities of showing those
elements in style.

We only use CSS transitions via hover and also some SVGs to create unique shapes. Icons are from Font Awesome and the profile pictures are from the Random User Generator.

Please note that we use some modern CSS properties, like 3D transforms, which only work in modern browsers.

There seems to be an issue
with using a percentage-based transform-origin value for SVG paths in
Firefox. You might not be able to see the correct transform effect, so we recommend using Google Chrome to see all the examples working correctly.

View demo Download source

Last year we posted some inspiration for modal window effects
and today we’d like to share some fresh ideas with you. Styles and
trends change and this calls for different effects that fit to a modern
UI. This new set contains some subtle animations and also some more
fancy SVG morphing techniques for dialogs.

Please note that this was tested in latest browser versions only.

Please also note that IE11 does not seem to support vieport units in calc() which we use in some of the animation transforms.

View demo Download source

Sometimes we wonder how to pack all those possible actions into a UI.
From buttons to drop-downs to menus—there are certainly many
possibilities. Another idea is to employ some kind of drag and drop
interaction. Today we want to share some explorations in these kind of
interactions with you. The idea is to allow to drag an item and then
show some droppable area that stands for certain actions. This saves a
lot of UI space and gives an interesting dynamic to interactions. There
are many applicable scenarios; think of categorizing and organizing
content (i.e. like the Pinterest boards) or performing any type of
actions (like in mail apps or in content management systems).
The demos are just some experimental ideas of how these kind of interactions can be imagined. We’ve based our demo script on Draggabilly
by David DeSandro, and extended some of the behavior, i.e. allowing to
scroll and treating drop actions. There are also other libraries out
there, like for example jQuery UI but Draggabilly is very solid and it supports touch and multi-touch, which is really great. We’re also using Font Awesome for the icons and based the box-shadow expansion effect in the icon demo on the one seen in Palettab, an awesome Chrome extension that will give you color inspiration with every fresh tab.

Today we’d like to show you how to create a simple grid layout with a special header effect.
The idea is to initially show a fullscreen image with a title and a
toggle button that allows to change the view to a grid. The header with
the fullscreen image animates upwards and reveals a grid of image
anchors with a title. We’ll be using some techniques like Flexbox and
CSS Transitions for modern browsers. For the trigger
button that toggles the views, we’ll create a vector graphic with two
groups, one containing a little grid and the other one containing a
cross. These two groups will have their visibility toggled according to
the current view (fullsreen header or grid).

We’ve updated and added some more effects to the Hover Effect Ideas. The second set contains some fresh styles that include the Font Awesome
icon font and SVG backgrounds for some effects. The structure of the
demos was a fullscreen grid before, but now we’ve adjusted it to contain
single rows of figures where it’s easier to see how an effect looks in
its normal state and when hovering.
As in the previous set, we try to make the effects as smooth
as possible, not using any transition on properties that affect layout
or painting. But trying out new things (like we do with SVG in the
second set), there could be some glitches in Firefox on Windows (tiny
border of SVG shown).
Please note that the effects have been tested in the latest
versions of modern browsers. They might not work as expected in older
browsers; you’ll have to provide a suitable fallback if you’d like to
support those.

In this tutorial we’re going to learn how to resize and crop an image using the HTML5
<canvas>
element, and while we’re at it, let’s create some fancy controls for resizing, commonly seen in photo editing applications.
In a real world example a website or app might use a technique like
this to resize and frame a profile picture before uploading. Whilst we
could do this on the server, it would require the transfer of a
potentially large file, which is slow. Instead we can resize the image
on the client side before uploading it, which is fast.
We do this by creating an HTML5
<canvas>
element
and drawing the image to the canvas at a particular size, then
extracting the new image data from the canvas as a data URI. Most
browsers have good support for these methods, so you can probably use
this technique right now, however just be aware of some limitations
unrelated to browser support such as quality and performance.
Resizing very large images can cause the browser to slow down or in
some cases, even crash. It makes sense to set reasonable limits on the
file size just as you would when uploading a file. If quality is
important you may find the resized image looks undesirable due to how
the browser resampled it. There are some techniques to improve the quality of images downscaled with canvas, but they are not covered in this tutorial.
Take a look at the final result in this demo or download the ZIP file.

Today we’d like to share a simple morphing effect with you. The idea
is to have a search input in the upper right corner of the page and once
the input is clicked, the whole search element expands to a fullscreen
overlay. The fullscreen overlay has a bigger search input and some
elements for showing related items or the search results. Note that we
just made a dummy that does not actually search dynamically.
For the morphing search effect we use several transitions that
animate the dimensions of the search input, the font size and some other
elements. Please note that it’s very experimental and only tested in
the latests versions of modern browsers.
The background image used in the demo is from Unsplash and the icons are from Font Awesome.

Today we’d like to share some inspiration for adding elasticity to
elements. The idea is to integrate an SVG element into a component and
then animate it from one path to another with an elastic animation.
Using SVGs like this can make things like menus, buttons or other
elements more interesting and make the interaction look more organic
with a natural feel to it. It’s of course important to keep things
subtle and not exaggerate the bounciness. The nice thing is that we can
give a more “realistic” interaction feedback to the user. Especially
touch feedback can benefit from using this kind of effect. Based on this
idea, we’ve created some inspirational examples of contexts where a
morphing shape animation enhancement could make sense.

The main idea is to have a restaurant menu with the different menu categories displayed. Each content are will have some foods/drinks listed. Once a content box is shown, the menu items are going to disappear. If we click on the close button to close the box, the menu items will be shown again.

Parallax Slider with jQuery

Happy New Year! We will kick start 2011 with a vibrant image slider tutorial. We will make use of the parallax principle to move different backgrounds when we slide to an image in order to create some nice perspective. This will give a great depth to the whole slider when it’s in motion.
The wonderful images are taken from Tetsumo’s Flickr Photo Stream: http://www.flickr.com/photos/tetsumo/
So, let’s start!

Sweet Thumbnails Preview Gallery

In this tutorial we will create an image gallery with jQuery that shows a preview of each image as a little thumbnail. The idea is to hover over the slider dots and make the regarding thumbnail slide into the previewer. When clicking a slider dot, the full image will slide in from the right or left side, depending on the currently viewed image.
Update: If you are interested in integrating the thumbnails preview slider you might want to check out the new post on how to use only the preview part:
Thumbnails Preview Slider with jQuery
Today we want to share our latest experiment with you: the 3D Wall Gallery. Using the Safari browser the images of this gallery will be put into 3D perspective, when scrolling or sliding. When viewed with another browser, the gallery will be shown normally, retaining all the functionality.
For seeing the 3D effect, please try the demo in Safari.
Summarized, you can do the following things in this gallery:

Hover an image to see a description

Slide through the images using the jQuery UI Slider at the top

Use the mouse wheel to scroll through the images

Use the thumbnail previewer at the bottom to choose an image

Use the hash anchor for the image in the URL to get to it directly

Click on an image to slide it to the left (notice the hash anchor in the URL)

Turn it into a 3D wall when scrolling/sliding (Safari users)

Flipping the perspective when changing the slide/scroll direction (Safari users)

We are using the jQuery hash change plugin by Ben Alman:
jQuery Hashchange Plugin
And we are also using the jQuery Mousewheel Plugin by Brandon Aaron:
jQuery Mousewheel Plugin
The beautiful photography is by Alan Antiporda from Illusive Photography and you can find his Flickr Photostream here: Illusive Photography Photostream

When viewed in the Safari browser, you will see the perspective happening while scrolling or sliding. When changing the direction of scrolling, you will notice that the perspective will tilt to the other side.

You can navigate through the images by either using the jQuery UI slider at the top or your mousewheel.

You can also use the thumbnails previewer to click on an image and get to it directly.

When hovering over an image you can see a little description at the top.
We hope that you enjoy our little experiment and find it useful!
In this tutorial we will create a fullscreen gallery with jQuery. The idea is to have a thumbnail of the currently shown fullscreen image on the side that flips when navigating through the images. The big image will slide up or down depending where we are navigating to. We will add navigation controls for the mousewheel and for keys. The thumbnail will have a zoom and and a fullscreen option, making the image in the background appear in fullscreen mode or as a complete image, resized to fit in the page.
We will be using Flip!, a jQuery plugin by Lucca Manno that flips elements.
And we will also be using the jQuery Mousewheel Plugin by Brandon Aaron.
The beautiful images are by talented Polina Efremova.
1) Rapidshare Hack (For Firefox Users) :-
The hot new Firefox plug-in takes browser customization to a whole new level by letting users filter site content or change page behaviors.
The glory of open-source software is that it allows anyone with the inclination and the scripting knowledge to get under the hood and hot-rod their computing environment.
But most of the time, that advantage is available only to people with the programming skills to make the changes they want.

That's where Greasemonkey, a free plug-in for Firefox, comes in -- it simplifies hacking the browser.

Released at the end 2004, Greasemonkey is the latest in a growing arsenal of Firefox customization tools.
It changes how Web pages look and act by altering the rendering process.

http://greasemonkey.mozdev.org/

1) Install the Greasemonkey extension>>
http://downloads.mozdev.org/greasemonkey/greasemonkey_0.2.6.xpi
2) Restart Firefox
3) Go to http://rapidshare.de/files/1034529/rapidshare.user.js.html
4) Right click on rapidshare.user.js and choose "Install User Script".
5) Run FireFox.
6) From 'File' Menu click on Open File then browse to whereever you saved the 'greasemonkey.xpi' plug-in.
Open it, wait a couple seconds for the install button becomes active.
7) Click on it to install this plug-in then CLOSE FIREFOX.
8) Run FireFox again.
10) Click the Tools Menu then click on Install User Script then click OK.
11) Close FireFox.

The script will let you enjoy "no wait" and multiple file downloads......!

2) Rapidshare Hack (NIC Tricks and MAC Cloning) :-
Rapidshare traces the users IP address to limit each user to a certain amount of downloading per day.
To get around this, you need to show the rapidshare server a different IP address.
Here are some methods for doing this-

A] Short-Out the JavaScript:
1) Goto the page you want to download
2) Select FREE button
3) In the address bar put this- javascript:alert(c=0)
4) Click OK
5) Click OK to the pop-up box
6) Enter the captcha
7) Download Your File

B] Request a new IP address from your ISP server:
Here’s how to do it in windows:
1) Click Start
2) Click run
3) In the run box type cmd.exe and click OK
4) When the command prompt opens type the following. ENTER after each new line.

                  ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
exit
             5) Erase your cookies in whatever browser you are using.
6) Try the rapidshare download again.
Frequently you will be assigned a new IP address when this happens.
Sometime you will, sometimes you will not. If you are on a fixed IP address, this method will not work.
If this works for you, you may want to save the above commands into a batch file, and just run it when you need it.

C] Use a proxy with SwitchProxy and Firefox:
1) Download and install Firefox
2) Download and install SwitchProxy
3) Google for free proxies
4) When you hit your download limit, clean your cookies and change your proxy

D] You can use a bookmarklet to stop your wait times:
1) Open IE
2) Right Click On This Link
3) Select Add to Favorites
4) Select Yes to the warning that the bookmark may be unsafe.
5) Name it “RapidShare No Wait”
6) Click on the Links folder (if you want to display it in your IE toolbar)
7) Click OK
8) You may need to close and reopen IE to see it
9) Goto rapidshare and click the bookmarklet when you are forced to wait

Airtel Hack for free internet

Step – one
You need a PC or a Laptop and the required connectivity tools ,ie.,
Serial/USB cable OR Infrared Device OR Bluetooth dongle1) Activate Airtel Live! ( It’s FREE so no probs)
2) Create TWO Airtel gprs data accounts (yep TWO) and select the
FIRST as the active profile.
3) Connect your mobile to the PC (or Laptop) and install the driver for
your mobile’s modem.
4) Create a new dial-up connection using the NEW CONNECTION
WIZARD as follows
Connecting Device : Your mobile’s modem
ISP Name : Airtel (or anything you like)
Phone Number : *99***2# / Try 99***1
Username and Password : blank
5) Configure your browser and download manager to use the proxy
100.1.200.99 and port 8080.( My advice is to use Opera since you
can browse both wap and regular websites)
6) Connect to the dial-up account. You will be connected at 115.2
kbps (but remember, that is a bad joke).
7) Pick up your mobile and try to access any site. You will get “Access
Denied…”(except for Airtel Live!). IT DOES NOT MATTER.
Keep the mobile down.
8 ) On the PC ( or Laptop) open your browser, enter any address ,
press ENTER and…….WAIT
9) After a few seconds the page will start to load and you have the
WHOLE internet at your disposal. ***************************************************************************************************************

TWO

Under DATA COMM
~~~~~~~~~~~~
APN : airtelfun.com
USERNAME : blank
PASSWORD : blank
PASS REQ : OFF
ALLOW CALLS : AUTOMATIC
IPADDRESS :
DNSADDRESS :
DATA COMP : OFF
HEADER COMP : OFF
Under INTERNET PROFILES
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
INTERNET MODE : HTTP or WAP (both worked for me)
USE PROXY : YES
IP ADDRESS : 100.1.200.99
PORT : 8080
USERNAME :
PASSWORD :
No Risk Here, Try it and Enjoy

Three

1st go to settings menu then to connectivity tab now choose the option Data comm. then “DATA ACCOUNTS” go to new account now the settings r as follows
APN:airtelfun.com
usr name: (blank)
NOW!
go to Internet Setting in connectivity here choose intrnet profile–go to new profile setting are as below
NAME:A1
CONNECT USING:A1(which was created in data comm.)
choose streaming settings now in connect using option choose a1 that we created leave the use proxy option as no itself
THESE R THE SETTINGS
now access airtellive! from ur activated SE phone goto VIDEO GALLERY OR VIDEO UNLIMITED(varies according to states) choose live streaming then choose CNBC OR AAJTAK WHILE CONNECTING TO MEDIA SERVER cancel AFTER 9 or 10 sec then type any web adress if it shows access denied then once again select CNBC and wait for a few more sec than before if its fully connected also no prob its free then cancel it or if ur connected then stop it and the internet is ready to take of .GOOD LUCK SE AIRTEL USERS

alternate

For All Airtel UsersRequirements:
1. Airtel live (available 4 free)
2. Nokia series60 handset eg 6600,6630,n series,7610,6670 etc
3. Opera wap browser 4 mobile
Procedure:-
1. Go to ur connection settings and make a new internet profile using the default settings of airtel live. name that new profile as nething(for eg masala); change the home page of that profile to nething u like for eg www.google.com.
2. Go to ur Opera browser and set the default connection as AIRTEL LIVE. this is the original settings u received thru airtel.
3. Go to the services(in n6600) and Web(N6630) and change the default profile for connection as masala (newer one).
**Note: always make sure that ur access point is airtelfun.com
Apply:-
1. Open Opera and u will see that homepage of Airtel Live is opened. Minimize the application.
2. Now open web using the duplicate Profile and u will see that two gprs connections will work simultaneously and at the web or the services page it will show “Unable to connect” or any error. well thats the signal of ur success.
3. Simply go on the Opera with web on and open any site u want for free. No Charges No nothing.
U can also use it through ur computer……….

someone said dis too

The main principle behind this is we hav 2 fool the bsnl techies 2 activate portal and thus get gprs activated / get “G” signal on ur cell as bsnl portal (wap.cellone.in) needs “gprs signal on ur cel (whether gprs is formaly activated/registerd or not (by my method )i dont know)NORMALLY THEY DONT DO THAT INSPITE OF THE FACT THAT THEY SHOULD ACTIVATE GPRS SIGNAL SERVICE FOR PORTAL!!!
AND THEY WILL GIVE U NO OF REASONS—-
—THAT portal is message based , so go to cellone icon in menu and use that sms based portal (what the f**k)
—THAT portal service will be activated when u will activate gprs by filling up form and registering at nearest CCN!!
—THAT ur handset has some problems (if u say that “G” signal is not present)
—-etc,etc!!
U HAVE 2 ACTIVATE PORTAL FIRST WHICH IS FREE AND U CAN EAT UP CC’S FOR THIS REASON!!
SO WHAT U HAV 2 DO IS–
1) SEND PORTAL to 3733 AND CONFIRMATION SHD COME WITH 5 MIN AT-MAXIMM !!
2) SEND FOR ATLEAST 20-30 TIMES (CAN B ANY MORE THAN THAT)
JUST S**K UP THE NETWORK(3733) WITH THESE MESSAGES !!!
THAT’S FREE NO!! BOTH ON POST AND PRE!!
3) NOW ALONG ALSO SEND 20-40 SMS AS GPRS TO 3733
(NO OF SMS DIRECTLY PROPORTIONAL 2 HATE FOR BSNL AND HOW EARLY U WNAN GET UR GPRS ACTIVATED) this is also free both on post and pre!!
4) U WILL GET CONFIRMATION IN BOTH CASES AND MSG TELLS U 2 GET SETTINGS FROM 9400024365, THE NO OF CC!!
HERE AT MY PLACE I CAN DIAL 9419024365 ALSO!
BOTH R TOLL FREE AND BOTH R LOCATED IN CHANDIGARH!!!
(((((((AND SOME OF THE CC’S SAY they cant give such sensitive information that where they r located, as if thay have a 3 rd world of their own! and the other dumbs said that they r in chandigarh!!!!)))))
I WOULD ADVISE ALL FIRST, 2 call them once 2 get the settings!!
(most of the times that is incorect but gives u an idea of settings in ur area))
Try and in ur 1 st call only,
talk roughly and tell them u r calling 10-20th time just for settings and is that their service!!!
5) Now when u get them save them AND plz post them here!!!
6) now GET ATLEAST 2-3 COMPLAINTS REGISTERED( each after 1 day) THAT UR PORTAL HAS NOT ACTIVATED AND GET THEIR SERIAL NO.
and in the end bombard them abt the status of all those complaints !!
b4 registering ur complaint they will hesitate much and always say taht they will b sendin new settings which r accurate! but dont belive them and just register complaints!!
6)AFTER THAT, u have 2 only wait until “G” signal is there on ur screen!!
LOOK, WHAT I HAVE WRIITEN ABV IS METHOD by which i got activated my “G” service !!! without fillin any form or such and without any money drain!!
may be since it bypasses the formal way of registeration, that is why this trick is working !!!!!!!!!!!!

U may also Try this

first open ur msg window and type LIVE and send it to 2567 so that after 5 min u get the setting of Airtel Live or if u have already no need for this procedure.
now then open that setting and copy all the settings from it and create one access point manually which has all the settings like Airtel Live has.
now only one change will be there and it would be in access point name which is “Airtelmms.com” instead of originally “Airtelgprs.com”.
ok u’ve done it just active that setting and access free airtel gprs on ur phone.a recent comment says dat

Create an Amazon Books Widget with jQuery and XML

One thing to remember as you seek to try this out on your own is that Internet Explorer security settings do not allow you to make XmlHttpRequest calls from the local file system. Even though you are not using a server-side language, you still need to run the source code from a Web server like Apache’s HTTP Server. Uploading the files to a Web hosting account would work as well.
This tutorial is using the minified jQuery 1.2.6 core JavaScript file, which can be downloaded here from Google Code. No other plugins are necessary. Here is a screenshot of the widget in its final form:
In addition, you can use any element to trigger the file selection window. The plug-in creates a semi-transparent file input screen over the button you specify, so when a user clicks on the button, the normal file selection window is shown. After the user selects a file, the plug-in submits the form that contains the file input to an iFrame. So it isn’t true AJAX but provides the same user experience.
