Google sues over work a home scams

This gets interesting a company called Pacific Webworks was sued by the search giant Google because they are misusing their name to scam innocent people’s out there.

The company filed a lawsuit on Monday in federal court in Salt Lake City against Pacific WebWorks and other, unnamed defendants alleging trademark infringement and dilution, unfair competition, federal cyberpiracy, and violation of consumer sales practices. The lawsuit can be amended to add the names of additional defendants as they are uncovered.

The previous headline is a complete lie Google is not hiring nobody to work from home, and for this action the search giant filed a law suet against Pacific Webworks.

Consumers are asked to pay an “instant access” fee for access to a members-only portal or a “shipping and handling fee” for a DVD that supposedly explains how to make money through the program, according to the lawsuit. Many victims who pay the fees, typically a few dollars, either do not get DVDs, they receive DVDs that contain viruses or they get access to an unrelated free site, such as Google’s online help center, the suit says.

Meanwhile, people who have provided their credit card information, e-mail, and home addresses find that their credit cards are thereafter charged $50 to $79.90 every month, according to the lawsuit. Consumers find it difficult, if not impossible, to cancel the charges or get refunds, the suit alleges.

I know how hard is to you or me trying to make money and a scammer artist like the one mentioned here promise you money and then steals your money taking out all your hopes away. Beware don’t pay nothing to make money, legitimate companies don’t ask for money real companies don’t ask for money first.

Microsoft will kill Windows XP SP2 Support

For those that still using Windows XP SP2 Microsoft is reminding that customer support will be cut off by July 13, 2010 and is encouraging users to upgrade their computers to Microsoft latest operating system Windows 7. But if you don’t want to upgrade yet the other option you have is to upgrade Windows XP to SP3, since it mentions that only Sp2, Windows 2000 server, and Windows 2000 server client will not have support after July 13, 2010.

Microsoft is reminding customers that the end date for support for Windows XP Service Pack 2, as well as some other versions of the Windows operating system, is already on the horizon.
The company will officially end support Windows XP SP2, Windows 2000 Server and Windows 2000 Client on July 13, 2010, according to an official company blog post.The software maker is encouraging users of those operating systems to upgrade systems to Windows 7, Windows Server 2003, or Windows Server 2008 by the cutoff date. It’s also reminding customers that upgrades directly from Windows 2000 to Windows 7 are not officially supported.

Users in the latter category will first have to upgrade to Windows XP, and then migrate over to Windows 7.

Microsoft has released a number of tools designed to ease the pain of upgrading systems to a new OS. “We have created an End-of-Support Solution Center to help with the planning of your migration strategy,” said Microsoft’s Stephen Rose, in a blog post Sunday.

The online resources include a Windows XP-to-Windows 7 migration guide, the Windows 7 Automated Installation Kit, and the User State Migration Tool.

While seven months might seem like plenty of time for businesses to prepare for the end of Windows XP support, the fact is that all but a handful of enterprises are still using the software as their main OS for end users.

Few upgraded to Windows Vista due to concerns about application compatibility and performance issues, and Windows 7, on the market for less than two months, remains too new to instill IT managers with much of a comfort level.

that most corporations weren’t planning to move to Windows 7 until at least a full year after its release—but with Microsoft’s deadline looming, many may now be forced to reconsider their plans.

Microsoft is likely to continue providing major security updates for Windows XP and Windows 2000 after ending support, but won’t offer performance patches, service packs or other non-critical upgrades.

Google goggles a cooler way to search

If you have a cell phone that runs Google Android operating system I have good news for you, Google had created an application called goggles that simplifies the way you search using the phone camera in this case a T-Mobile MyTouch or G1 device. If you have a G1 or MyTouch and had used the phone to search in Google.com you know that you have to ways two do it.

(1) enter the phrase in the search box manually or (2) speak the word and the phone will search automatically, well not anymore because Google has another way to search now and it’s by taking a picture of what you want to search about and the phone will automatically do the search for you, cool huh? the above image is a demo of what the user wants Google to search using goggle.

I laugh because Google fanatics makes our lives easier and easier everyday and why is that? well it turns out that now you can access your Google mail faster with a G Board, what’s the heck is a G Board? it’s a little USB keypad that can be added to your existing computer keyboard but with specific Google mail functions. Here is a picture of the peripheral.

So this is the famous G Board, in my opinion this would be a perfect gift for a tech fanatic or a friend that wants to have access to it gmail messages. This price is OK by me it’s cheap and looks very high quality.
