A new ebay listing

I need to start over with blogging. So out of practice. Using a chromebook and thought the link to my listing might work.

Getting back to blogging and also working hard on eBay. Please check out my listings on seller name papel1. I have listed quite a few new First Day Covers.

Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas. 2021 has been an interesting year. I live in a retirement home and really like it in Merced California I did a lot of crafts this year making cards with my die cutting machine. and practicing Doodling. Now I have been given a large number of antique postcards and look forward to sharing them soon That is my goal for 2022. I bought a chromebook and a small HP printer so will be ready now to post come pictures. Or I may use my iPhone to take photos and write my posts there. So many ideas. Watch soon for new posts. I might write one tonight.

Miner's Lettuce Edible but can be toxic

2019-03-30T15:39:00.002-07:00

Miner's lettuce, a native winter annual broadleaf plant, is part of a complex of species and subspecies with slightly varying characteristics. It is found throughout California (except for the lower desert areas) to about 6600 feet (2000 m). Miner’s lettuce inhabits natural plant communities, agricultural land, and urban areas, with a preference for cool, damp conditions. It dries up with the onset of hot spring weather. Although the leaves are sometimes cultivated or collected for salad greens, occasionally it accumulates soluble oxalates, which can be toxic when ingested.

Back on ebay Lots to come vintage fabric book now1

2019-01-24T19:50:00.002-08:00

I am still recovering from being a "double Hippie" That means two replacements with learning to walk without a limp. Good movement with hips just the tendons and muscles that are old and need to be stronger. So today I decided to get me back on ebay and try to downsize. Here is a book I have listed.

Click here. For Ebay auction. A very useful book for identifying vintage fabrics.

Happy Thanksgiving

2018-11-11T10:21:00.001-08:00

Great recovery from double hip replacement surgery. Use cane at times but feeling better. Of course this gives me time to do some shopping. All ONLINE. Now I just have to wait for the items to arrive in the mail. First using bonus points I am getting 3 flameless candles with a remote, an embroidery kit of birds, jewelry to wear made of lavastone just add a drop of essential oils. Kewpie postcards, Wow what fun. Will share later with some links. Oh and some hand dyed embroidery floss.

Charm squares ready to make a cat blanket.

Broken jewelry ready for a project.

I enjoyed stitching this praying mantis.

Hand Embroidery while recovering from Hip Replacement

2018-08-02T18:35:00.002-07:00

I am not so much into postcards or other ephemera since I am not selling on ebay. I have spent most of the last months recovering from Hip replacement surgery in April. Good results although I still need to use my cane and get stronger. Good news I will be having the other hip replaced next week. I hope then to feel better although my knees are looking a little big. I need to walk more but with smoke from the California fires and the heat I do not walk outside as much as I should. I sure miss RVing but maybe soon.

Staying at home mostly with shopping ventures and weekly sewing gatherings. I have been doing quite a big of hand embroidery which I will picture below.

Bear peaking in our window

2018-06-07T20:27:00.000-07:00

We had a visitor who took over the countryside homes. He or she proceeded to walk on our deck (gate was open) and looked inside to watch us. No amount of noise scared the bear off and he found our garbage cans. He visited the next day but went across the highway and sat on the porch of our neighbor. The trouble he could not get back into his house after walking down the hill to his mailbox. Fish and Game finally came and a few shots (sheriffs came by then) scared the bear up a tree. We haven't seen this bear for a week and hopeful it is fine and going back towards Yosemite

Hip Replacement Surgery for both hips

2018-03-17T20:24:00.001-07:00

I usually would tie in my Ebay listings and other ephemera of interest with my blog. I have bone on bone osteoarthritis and have not been with my blog. I am taking a break from Ebay. I the middle of April I will be having the right hip replaced. I am thinking that maybe I should keep a blog diary of my progress. Will try to drop in here every week. More later.

Welcoming the New Year 2018

2018-01-10T10:09:00.000-08:00

Due to health issues I have been neglecting my blog and since I have started the New Year with Journaling this would also be a good place to write. While reading my emails some from friends, others from crafty and creative business people I get new ideas. Today an article about 2018 popped my interest. It said to pick a word that would be encouraging for the year. Well I was thinking of HEALTH, HEALTHY WELLNESS but decided to pick a phrase that was in one of our doctors reports. It was AGE RELATED. Everytime there is some problem, usually minor,we now say it is Age Related. I will be 76 and need to face Hip Replacement (maybe) and working on diet for Heitus Hernia.

But I pass the days with hand embroidery and now working with Essential Oils which feel good on my hips. I wish everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR. Not selling much on eBay but planning on using my boxes of ephemera in making JUNK JOURNALS

Good Bye 2017

A break in blogging

2017-10-08T16:36:00.001-07:00

I am rather behind with blogging. It has been a summer with forest fires with evacuations. Then I started Physical Therapy as I learned from xrays that I have advanced osteoarthritis of the hips. It is in both hips and is quite painful. I will be seeing an Orthopedic specialist in a few months. But I still craft and go to sewing class and try to stay active.

A blogging afternoon with lazy dazey days

2017-07-13T14:36:00.000-07:00

I went out this morning to feed the cats, check the water bowls for all the visiting animals, then sat on the deck with a cup of coffee. Sewing class at the senior center was on my mind so I gathered my embroidery projects set off down the road to a wonderful gathering of sewists.

When I came home I ate lunch and then napped. I now sit by the water cooler reading emails and checking my eBay Auctions. Several of my listings that are on mentioned on twitter have the hashtag #ChristmasinJuly. It is 97 outside not exactly December weather. But it does make for lovely mornings and after dinner evenings.

Won some covers and am waiting to receive them in the mail. I will now be researching Twin Bridges, Montana.

2017-03-02T17:02:00.002-08:00

The Alaska Packers' Association (APA) was a San Francisco based manufacturer of Alaska canned salmon founded in 1891 and sold in 1982. As the largest salmon packer in Alaska, the member canneries of APA were active in local affairs, and had considerable political influence. The Alaska Packers' Association is best known for operating the "Star Fleet," the last fleet of commercial sailing vessels on the West Coast of North America, as late as 1927.

Ugly Sweater Cookie. Merry Christmas

2016-12-25T10:22:00.000-08:00

It is pretty ugly. This was a pre made cookie in kit from Traders Joe. All I had to do was frost it (in kit) and add sprinkles. Then I ate it. MERRY CHRISTMAS.
