Lulu White on Basin Street is yet another installment set in New Orleans during WW II centered around Billie’s mentor.

As the trains would come into the station on Basin Street they would roll past Lulu’s three storied “Log Cabin”, where the girls, tiered white, creole, and black would promenade on their respective balconies. The soliders would fall out of the cars the press against the windows was so thick.
