Well, as many of you know, I'm lazy. But then again, we all are. And, if you have pin straight hair like me, it could get really annoying to curl it. I remember when I was younger no matter how much I permed my hair, it would still come out not curled at all, and curling irons back then didn't do that great of a job as it does today. Awhile ago, I used to curl my hair with straightening irons and that worked out okay. Except I didn't enjoy those times where I had to pull my hair using the iron to get that curling effect especially now that my hair is at waist length. So, I decided to purchase a new curling iron (40$ at winners retail at >100$) and gave it a go.

The straightener comes with 2 hair clips and a glove (so your hands don't get burnt)

This is how my hair looks when its pin straight.

First, start off with sectioning hair into 2 parts (left and right) and then at each side, part evenly from back and front making 4 even sections in total and then clip the front of the hair.

I usually start off curling my hair from the back, so taking that entire section of hair, I wrap it around the barrel for exactly 60 seconds (count if you like) and then let loose.

After curling both sections of one side of your hair, this is the result that you should get.

Do the same for the other side.

Finally, shake out your curls using your fingers and if you'd like, add hair spray to your curls for hold.

End result.

Note: for those of you whose hair cannot be easily curled, throughout the day, your curl will loosen and by the end of the day, your hair will be more wavy than curly at the bottom. For more of a wavy effect, instead of holding the section of your hair for 60 sections, try 30 seconds instead.

I'm finally back, yet with another post. I know I have been away for a few months (3?) to be exact, mostly to catch up on my school work, and just in general taking a break from blogging. I am lagging behind with my Youtube videos mostly because in general, I found my videos to be a bit in low quality, as I only have a webcam. So, until I can step up my game with the quality of video recording, I won't be doing them anytime soon.

I haven't bought any new cosmetics in a long time, because I realized that my makeup has been stacking up with countless eye shadows, blushes, lip glosses, etc. As much as I like to use them all, I only have one set of eyes, 1 set of cheeks, and one mouth. More importantly though, I realized that not every single colour is very flattering on me, and recently, I have been using only one palette which is Lavshuca BE-1 to do my every day makeup, because I found the colours in that palette suits me the most without me putting much effort in my everyday makeup.

I have though, recently been on the search for new pairs of coloured contact lenses, and this time, with prescription. I have seen many bloggers getting their contact lenses from Shoppingholics.com, so I decided to give them a try. I went on their site www.shoppingholics.com and found that they gave out free shipping with orders over $60 US! plus free contact cases and gifts(more gifts, the more pairs you order) ,great!, so I decided to order 3 pairs.

I received my order around 2 weeks from the date that I placed my order which is quite reasonable as I live in Canada, and I realize that the order is coming from Malaysia. They also include a tracking number so you know exactly where your package is.

I was so excited to received my package!

I received the package in a big envelop and they bubble wrapped everything, which was well done.

I unwrapped my stuff and saw that I received 3 lense cases plus some gifts :Osmei soothing eye patch, a compact mirror, lashes, and a dariya hair fastener (used to place your hair out of the way while doing makeup). They even included a thank-you note!

Review: These lenses are super comfortable. Aside from the fact that they don't look natural, they're absolutely gorgeous. Though if you have dark brown eyes like me, they look more like violet than gray. Also, these lenses don't look that great by itself if you're not wearing make-up

Brand: Japan Barbie Eye
Style: Eye Ring Brown
Review: Again, these lenses were comfortable as well, and I was able to go through 10 hours with them on without drying my eyes. These lenses tend to give my eyes the anime eyes effect and the brown matches my eyes perfectly. From afar, its not obvious that you are wearing lenses. however, up close, you are able to the swirls, If you're looking for a semi-natural lenses and have dark brown eyes like me, then I would definitely recommend them.

Brand: Geo

Style: Brown Circle Lense
Review： These are by far the most natural looking lenses. Unfortunately, compared to both of these above, they are the most uncomfortable lenses. I wore them for 2 hours and had to take them out and they made my eyes go red. I find that with Geo lenses, some of them might be "defects". I used to only wear Geo lenses but I must admit, some of them are SUPER uncomfortable and they were unwearable.

I Cut My Bangs Again!!

After all this time having my bangs grown out, I've decided to not cut it again because it was so annoying to manage and my hair is always so pin-straight! I went to this Viet-owned (I THINK) hair cutting place called JulieQ just off of Castro street and on Dana street (I think that's the name). It costed me $10 USD for the bangs to be cut and then I gave another $2 USD tip.
To be honest, I'm not really satisfied with the result, I could just have easily done it myself =_=, but recently, I don't trust myself to cut the bangs, so here's the results:

All these images has been photoshopped by this app on my phone called Camera 360. I wish I have perfect skin like so, lol. While on my way back, I sat close to the Caltrain station for a few minutes. It was such a lovely weather that way, and such a change from Toronto & GTA (where I hear it began to snow recently >.<).

Mascara Duo That Really Lengths Your Lashes

I was experimenting the other day with mascaras and was too lazy to take the mascara that I was already wearing off and it seems that my lashes has really grown in length without the use of false lashes! But ofcourse, its not as lengthy as false lashes but I think its still pretty good

Revolon Lip Butters Review

So while in California, I had a chance to stroll down the streets of downtown Mountainview (?) I think by myself. Since I don't have a car or anything, I couldn't really go far. The weather was so warm and lovely, unlike Toronto, where its still snowing. I stepped out in my Liz Lisa dress and felt like it's spring time already =)

I stopped by the CVS pharmacy to see what they had to offer in there. I decided to pick up 2 lip butters because I've been hearing great things about them and also it was because they had the buy one get 1 1/2 off. I picked up two colours: a bolder one and a light girly colour.

to be honest, I can't really tell the difference between these and lipsticks except for the fact that they're more moisturising. The colours aren't exactly sheer, they have the same pigmentation as lipsticks except they glide on quite well. I suffer from dry lips alot and when I apply lipsticks, often they exaggerate the effects of my lip wrinkles, but these do not. I think I will definitely be purchasing more colours =)

So today's blog post is going to be a little different.
And obscenely long and perhaps even boring. Nonetheless, this took me actually around a week to complete because I keep on learning new things to think about and to reflect every single day..so...brace yourselves (and be prepared to be overwhelmed by my lack of English and grammar skills lately)

Maybelline Baby Lips - Walmart (awesome for hydration)

Today, I am going to talk about something that's had a huge impact on most of my life, a word called: relationship. Funny that I should talk about this, because really, even though I have come a long way from my past experiences (since 14 years old) I still feel like I haven't aged at all in that area. I felt like I have never even learned one single bit ever since my first relationship. Although, I admit I have gotten a little less shy, and able to talk, somehow, I still still STILL get scared/nervous that I will do something stupid in front of them. However, that's not what's important. The important part is that...I still have not learned my lesson from my first heartbreak. I will still somehow, fall for him quickly, believe him, and go head over heels for him even though I have only known a guy for not even a week. The only thing that's changed in that area is that the me now will do these for different (wrong-ish) reasons as opposed to the 14 year old me.

The teenager years of me have went or guys that has liked me first, and then I dated them only because I was able to make them happy. And then, my feelings developed as I was in the relationship with them. It worked for me back then. Ofcourse after my highschool years, I realized why can't I get what I want? Why can't instead, I go for the guy that I like? So as I grew up, I began to change the way that I look, got into make-up, changed the way I dress, etc, all these things that a typical girl would do (about time, huh?). And all for what? Well, I WANT to say, all for myself.....well.....that is only 40% true. The other 60% is for the sole purpose of trying to either attract that someone or guys in general. And here is where I didn't want to admit it. I've done a good job of lying to myself all these years and eventually, even I believed it. Then, it became a routine for me to wake up early, to do my make-up every single day (where would I be without make-up? certainly not on this blog), to carefully pick out my clothes every single day, and to stare at the mirror for a pro-longed period of time......Okay I'm going off on a tangent here.

Okay so, going back on track, I have always thought the two statements below were always true and have lived by them for so many years when it comes to relationships:

a. Just as long as you keep on trying, you will always be able to get what you want.

b. It doesn't matter if the guy doesn't have a job right now, just as long as you love him and he loves you the same, and is happy with him, he will come around to change.

NAIVE right? I couldn't have been more wrong, wrong....WRONG. Maybe I have been brain washed by all these Taiwanese dramas that I've been watching recently (In these shows, they always feature good looking guys who always do sweet things for the one girl and is never a player...anyways, back to reality) So I am going to break it down this way in what I have gathered:

For the Statement a:
i) The guy will always do what he wants and nothing will stop him from doing so (ty for snapping me out of my lala land, s) I used to think that maybe with a little effort, I was always (I am so vain) able to get any guy to be wrapped around my midget fingers....oh man. Instead, recently I have finding myself wrapped around theirs, and man, was it hell. Why didn't they teach you in schools that in reality, as you grow older, falling in love is so painful?

ii) No matter how many times you show you like him/love him/lust for him/ whatever, if a guy likes you, he will show it, but...BUT....do not be confused with a guy that merely lusts for you. And I admit, I've been/have/is a victim of such case. Sometimes, in the beginning, you simply just can't tell if a guy actually likes you or just simply wants you for sex. SOMETIMES you will not be able to find out until after you may/may not have committed this mistake.

For the Statement b:
Let's get real here. Which girl does not bear the VERY LEAST materialism at all? Now I'm not saying the kind of girls that takes shopping sprees at Louis Vuitton (oh, how I envy thou), Holt Renfew, Chanel, Hermes, [insert as much designers you can think of here] etc, but you know, we all want to look decent/attractive, likes good looking guys [that comes with a fat wallet], etc...isn't it funny how that the guy that you said that you would never date instantly became attractive when you found out about his figures? I mean com'on, its all part of nature. Survival of the fittest, and at this point in century, in most cases, good looking girls still attracts the guys (initially anyways). Well at my age of 23....relationships just simply can't only be based on eachother's feelings anymore (why is it that the older you are, the more complex you realize the world is?)....as much as I've tried in the past, this IMO simply cannot be done for those of you that is at and/or around my age (if you can prove me wrong, then I really envy you - hence the "true love").

Unrealistically, every single girl wants these things in a man (just admit it):
a) Hot/Good Looking (this definition varies by girls)
b) Income of 6 figures (in USD currency) or make enough to be able provide for you
c) He caters to your every needs
d) In his eyes there is only you, you and you.
e) He is romantic

In TV dramas(mostly the ones that I watch anyways), the guy is all of the above.
In the real world, the 99.999999999999% (rounded to the nearest decimal point) is either
i) a) + b)
ii) b) + c) + d) + e)
iii) a) only
iv) b) only
v) c) + d) + e)

So based on which ones we value more, we choose the guys in either of the categories. As for me, in the I have always been choosing guys in catagory ii) or v). But I want to ask, don't you sometimes find these kind of guys a little too "safe" and sometimes "boring"? Why is it that us girls are always so stupid and always fall for the jerks, and never the nice guys? So, after passing my 20th birthday, I have been (and still sort of) guilty of going for guys mostly in the catagory i)

Okay so now, I'm going to cut to the chase. Recently, I have came across this picture on 9Gag.com

Wise words indeed.
I took a big step back, and I thought about everything that I have done.
"Am I in love with him, or his 6 figure digits?"
"Why is it that I let myself get hurt?"
"Why do I rush into things?"
And with that, I went on an immediate shopping spree in-between my classes to the closest mall.
While walking and looking at clothes, I answered my own questions and came to several realizations

a) Patience is everything (as well as a virtue, as commonly told). As hard is this is for me, but I really need to keep this in mind. The sooner the relationship progresses, the sooner it ends. (ty. J).
b) If you want to meet classy guys, you have to dress and act the part.
c) When it comes to finding Mr. Right, what matters in a guy the most is that
i) he treats you right
ii) not a player
iii) stable enough, but doesn't need to be insanely rich
and as for everything else, you will just need to learn to accept the person for who he is.

And Here comes the most important matter to a relationship: TRUST.
How much can you trust the person? Are you the type that is either: innocent until proven guilty or the type that needs the guy to earn your trust before proceeding?
Well there's a problem with the latter one: you just simply cannot enter any stage in a relationship with no trust unless ofcourse this relationship is solely based on materialism and you absolutely don't care for one another to which I don't know why you would be in that kind of "relationship" (or lackthereof) in the first place. On the other hand, I am always the one that always trust the person until they do something to break that trust. But then, I always doubt them and then I try to find out more by involving their friend. Wrong move. I had recent talk with my friend recently, and he told me
"You can choose what you want to believe in".
Well, then, I said
"I want to believe the truth", and then he told me
"Yes, but you cannot find out the truth".
Unfortunately, that made me realize, that is the sad truth. Indeed, I will probably never know the real truth, so I can only choose what I want to believe in. So I choose to believe him. Another new thing that I learned that day. Your relationship is ONLY between you and your new man, no matter what his friend(s) say, believe his words before anyone else's. Furthermore, it should only involve you and him, and no one else. Problems? Talk to HIM about it. Not to his friend(s). I learned it the very hard way and gave myself the complexity of the relationship.

Now I have one more thing to talk about, again I was talking to that same friend the other day, he told me something that went beyond my beliefs when it comes to relationships. Apparently, feelings do not last forever, and it is a matter of finding what eachother needs and that is what will determine stability in the relationship*cringes*. I have always thought you need feelings (the most, basic FOUNDATION to any solid relationship), but is it true that you don't need feelings to continue and that the feeling will fade away? I was told to look at it in a wealthy (elder) men's prospective. A common stereotypical image of a wealthy elder men usually has a super model hot girlfriend by his side. Why? Clearly, the girl is with him for his money, and not for him, BUT he still accepts this. Because of one reason: Stability. As long as the guy has money, and the woman holds her looks (thanks to plastic surgery now these days), both of them has what they want, and the woman will never leave him and vise-versa. I reflected this upon into my own love life. Its true. The younger me valued feelings > stability. Truth is, If I could go back to my old 21 year old self, I would never have gave that up. I thought about this and its true. Some people say (myself included) that after they marry, they will NEVER divorce no matter how bad things get. You marry, and you committed your life with this other person. As time pass, is it true that they still have the same feelings for each other as they first had? What exactly is love? What is the difference between love and infatuation? Sometimes it is very hard to tell. Even you,yourself may say that you love the person, but simply, it might just be the infatuation talking. I thought that love is when you care very much about that certain someone, but then again, you can care for your friends the same way, but you have no feelings for them. So isn't that how most of the time, long married couples end up? Anyhow, freeing myself from a stable relationship that I've had in the 2 years, I have learned a whole bunch. Certainly has made me a better person in knowing how to cherish the good ones, and also gave me a more realistic outlook on what exactly relationships is all about in the end.

Anyways, this is what I came home with on a shopping therapy while thinking about these thoughts:

No Makeup Makeup for Natural Brown Eyes

Nails of The Day: Crystal Gradient Nails

I have done (tried and attempted) to do 3 different kind of nail designs before this one, and unfortunately, it kind of turned out really ugly because of my unsteady hands and ofcourse my nails being really short lately. So finally, after getting a few inspirations from ViVi magazine, I came up with this simple design.

Step 1:

With any sparkly white nail varnish, apply 1-3 coats of it, depending on how transparent your nail varnish is. Apply until opaque and let dry. I used the Sephora kind (I forgot the name)

Step 2.

With any pink Polish (I used a no name from that I got from Anime North lol), first apply a thin coat 1/2 way down the nail, then 1/3 of the way, and etc. until you get to the tip. This way, you are gradually building colour towards the tip of the nail.

Step 3.

Finally With a brush on nail glue, I used Nailene brand. You can use a clear nail polish instead, but I find using this dries faster and the crystals will stick on better. Use 2 crystals and stick them on the middle of the nail on the bottom as shown. Finish with a top coat if you desire.

You're done =)

Nails of the Day: Royal White

Usually, I wouldn't do my nails if they are short, but since its just the starting of the term and I figured I might as well be creative with nails before the term progresses and I get busy and won't have any time to make any blog posts, I figured, why not?

Step 1:
Use a pink nude sheer colour and add 1-2 coats of polish. Let dry, I used Sally Hansen Salon Manicure - Camella

Step 2: Using the nail guard sticker, place it near the cuticles of your nail

Step 3. Use white nail polish to paint the "tips" I used OPI

Step 4. Use the crown nail decals and place where the white polish meets the pink nude one

Step 4. Add a silver gem to the middle of the brown. Add a top coat, I used OPI - Original Nail Envy which results in an amazing shine

And repeat this for all nails and you're done =)

Skin 79 White Reviving Skin Radiance Solution

Skin79 is one of my favourite BBcream brands so far, and 1 month and a half ago, I was browsing online for Korean cosmetics, I came across this bottle of whitening serum on sale:

Sorry for the dark picture, but the whitening serum came in a box(to which I threw out) and in this attractive bottle like this.

So this is what it claims on the back of the bottle:
"Highly concentrated whitening solution containing Flora-WH, Niacinamide, which prevents pigment deposits, brings brightness to the skin from the inside.

Directions: After using softener, evenly spread a moderate amount on entire face and allow to absorb"

I have been using this serum for over a month now, and I absolutely love it! I can already see the whitening difference (even though on the camera, it shows up as my face more whiter than the rest of my body, LOL).

After rubbing it into the skin, the serum leaves a freshly scent like you just took a shower. Moreover, there is a slight cooling sensation that lasts for a few minutes. I have added this serum into my daily morning routine. Sometimes, I also use this instead of a moisture and it really does the job =D

Janice Man Inspired Makeup Tutorial

Plastic Surgery Makeup (Without the need of Plastic Surgery)

Ever since when I was a teenager, I realized that my nose has been very flat =_= and truthfully, I have considered surgery or a nose injection (and I still am) because I don't have a nose bridge, and its really frustrating when I wear glasses because alot of the times, my glasses keep on sliding off, and of course, there's that beauty side (a flat nose, in my opinion, just doesn't look that flattering). So recently, I've been experimentation with make-up and discovered a way how to "fake" a nose bridge and as well as making your eyes seem bigger and your face slimmer.

Absolute Total Diamond Skin 79 BBcream Review

So far, Skin79 has been my favourite BBcream brand ever, and recently, I've decided to spend a little more on the Diamond Version of this bbcream. To me, this one feels no different than my already favourite, Super+ bbcream also by Skin79.However, I can feel that it gives a more thicker coverage than the Super+ Bbcream, and it feels like it has the same coverage as the Missha BBcream. Moreover, I feel that this cream gives a better coverage than most foundations. Again, it gives a rather dewy finish and sort of feels oilly, so moisturiser is not needed. The only difference that is labelled is that this one has a better SPF37 PA++ whereas the other one only has a SPF25PA++.

The shade is slightly lighter than my hand

And this is how it looks like when used as a foundation: (I only use the bbcream + translucent powder to set, and used NO concealers)

Notice the imperfections on my forehead? It does a good job at covering it

I think this is the bbcream that I would use during my bad skin days. It is quite expensive when it is bought at pmall (around $30-$40). Fortunately, I got this from ebay which was only around $15. I think I have just found my second favourite bbcream =)

My Beauty Diary Eye Mask Review

Recently, I've visited T&T to buy some My Beauty Diary masks, and came across My beauty Diary Eye Masks! They were around the same price as 1 box of masks (10) $7.99, but the eye masks only came in 7 per pack, so they were kind of expensive.

So what these masks are are vitimin C enriched Eye masks, and they have the special design that covers the top, bottom and the side of the eye.

When taken out of the package, it looks like this:

I love this mask the first time I tried it, after 20 minutes, my dark circles seem less visible as well as those fine wrinkles under my eyes (which I have alot of)

2 Days ago, I really got bored of my hair colour and decided to change it back...closer to my natural hair colour but with reddish undertones. I've been wanting to use those Japanese hair dyes instead, but one of the dyes do not contain enough dye to colour all my hair, not to mention, they are pretty pricey, more expensive than the L'oreal hair dyes which are priced at around $12/box. I picked up a Clairol Nice & Easy Foam Dye which is priced around $8.99/box

Quick & Easy Day to Night Eye Makeup

Ever since the first moonshadow baked Palette that Sephora featured, I've fell in love with it. Sephora recently brought out another palette, this time, featuring silver laced design called "In the dark". I love the colours that came with this palette, and it made eye contouring so easy! The top row have the lighter eyeshadow shades and the bottom row has the darker contouring shades to match! You don't necessary have to use the combo that's suggested, you can also mix and match the colours. They are so wearable, and sparkly!

So with that in mind, I've decided to do a really simple eye makeup that takes you from day to night without taking any makeup off! Instead, just layering it on.

The best thing about this is that the gloves can be worn alone for 20 minutes OR with the intensive hand cream to achieve the hand softening effect.

So, first. here is what my hands looked like before: (notice all the cracks and peels)

After applying a small amount of the hand cream on both of my hands and then I slip on the gloves for 20 minutes. The results:

The cracks and peels are alot less noticeable and my hands feel super soft! Its recommended that you use this treatment twice a week to treat your hands =).

Shiseido Eyelash Curler Review

II have recently heard alot of raves going on about the Shu Uemura eyelash curler. I was in the New York City for the weekend and wanted to head to Sephora (they have a Sephora on every corner!) to pick up one. Since they are much cheaper there ($19 USD compared to $30 CAD). It around 9pm and was walking around near the Times Square and I finally found a Sephora. Unfortunately, they were out of the Shu Uemura eyelash curlers so I just picked up the closest thing to it, which is the Shiseido Eyelash Curler. I went online and saw many beauty gurus were bloging about the difference the two. Since I've never had the chance to try the Shu Uemura Curler myself, I don't know its performance. However after trying otu the Shiseido curler, I loved it!!

The Package came with the curler itself and an extra replacement rubber band. the curler is flatter than most of the eyelash curlers which fits the Asian eyeshape really well. Another thing about the curler is that instead of plain metal coloured, its in black which gives a more of a professional tool feeling.

I usually wear false eyelashes since its really to hold a curl on my lashes. But with these curlers, they really curl my lashes! In these pictures, I have curled my lashes and have the Benefit Badgal Brown Mascara

Ofcourse, the curl doesn't give you the effect of false lashes (that's the mascara's job) but nonetheless, its a really good natural effect. Overall, I'm really happy with the performance of the eyelash curler =)

Benefit Badgal brown Mascara Review

I never bought any mascara in any shades other than black. But recently, I have received this mascara for my birthday and I decided to give it a try, and to be honest, I was impressed with the results. Moreover, I did not really try any more benefit products for 2 years now. The products describes itself as having deep brown mascara for mile-high lashes. The brown colour doesn't really show up on my lashes, as my lashes are really black, but you could somewhat see the colour in sunlight or any sort of bright lighting. As for the mile-high lashes, it did lengthen my lashes, but it doesn't hold a curl. As many of you guys know, I do have short asian lashes that goes straight down. The texture of this mascara feels really heavy and sticky, so if you brush too much of this on your lashes, it will look clumpy.

both products has the mascara! Look how long these lashes are now.

Overall, I would recommend this mascara to use for everyday wear, but it would be better if they can hold a curl + the lengthening that it already has.

I've been meaning to do some few hauls, but I've never got around to it, since I've been so busy with school, with assignments, had my first midterm yesterday, but nevertheless, I finally got around to doing another tutorial. This time, using the same pink Majolica Majorca pink eyeshadow as the last tutorial. I think its a really pretty colour.

So I went on www.adambeauty.com yet, AGAIN to purchase some Japanese cosmetics. for those who don't know what that site is, its basically an asian cosmetics (mainly japanese and korean cosmetics) online store. The interface looks a little ghetto, and all the explanations are all in Chinese (traditional), but nevertheless, its the cheapest online store I've found so far. They offer a flat rate of $2 USD shipping worldwide =). So here are my latest purchases from them from the discounted section:

I actually purchased this by accident =_= I never thought the midnight dresser would only contain TWO eyeshadow colours: silver and black, which I already have tons of duplicates of siiiigh

This is a really nice dark pink sparkly shadow that was also on sale =)

What I love about Japanese cosmetic palettes is that on the back of the box they show you where on the eyes to put the colours =)
