First European Cat Cafe open for purriness

Done shopping? Why not chill at that cafe and have a cup of tea while petting a lovely furry cat. First it was only possible in Japan and rest of Asia. But now Europe has its own very first cat cafe! Cafe Neko has opened this month in Vienna, Austria. It took the owner, Takako Ishimitsu, 3 years (!) to realise her cafe because of the government concerns about hygiene issues. How cute!! I love this and will definitly visit when I am near. I would probably die in that cafe because of my allergies but this idea is awesome. Hoping more cat cafes will follow and spreading the purr love!

Shit peacefully on largest public toilet in Japan

Public lavatories: you just want use it as quickly as possible and leave as soon as you can. Yet you have to pay for it. For what? Dirty toilets with ugly, yucky it-used-to-be-white-walls, with a horrible odor of cheap air freshener (OK, there's one exception: 2theloo in Amsterdam). And you can't even leave out Mr. Hankey (or Mr. Poopoo if you're not familiar with Hankey) quietly and peacefully, because you might get embarrassed by his sound and smell.... Sometimes you wish you could have some more privacy, right?

Well, people in Ichihara (Japan) are sooo lucky. Last month, the town opened the world's largest public lavatory, designed by Sou Fujimoto. It's a single toilet in a glass cubicle surrounded by more than 2,150 square feet garden! So while sitting on the toilet you have a beautiful peaceful view over a garden of cherry, plum and peach trees and potted plants. The entire garden has a fence of more than 6 feet high. And trains on the Kominato Railway Line provide the background noise. So, no more yucky view, no more horrible smell, no more people nearby. You can just do your thing quietly, peacefully and in private. How lovely is that?

Eat your OWN homemade meal at Basis Bar

Having diner with your friends at a fancy bar/restaurant with your own food? And without being the chef at this place? What the..who the...ehm... for real? Yes, that was what I thought when I heard about Basis Amsterdam.

Basis Amsterdam is a bar where people are allowed to bring their own food, homemade or just ordered at the local pizzeria (for example). And enjoy their own meal together with friends. Yes, it sounds odd, but I don't think this is a useless concept. First of all, the bar provides dishes and cutlery. So if you're too lazy to wash your own dishes, just eat at this place and they'll do it for you. There are even microwave ovens where people can heat up their food. And it's a perfect place for people who don't have enough space at home for having dinerparties. So this way, people can still enjoy the experience of eating out with friends, without spending a lot of money (well, you only have to pay for your drinks).

Hmmm, too bad that I have to travel all the way to Amsterdam. It would be nice if I can enjoy my jummy-smelling meal (while others enjoy the smell of my meal too) of delicious aromatic Natto (=fermented soybeans) with a fruity dessert of fresh pieces of Durian (yellow Asian fruit) outside home. Ikea, a paradise for people who are always having difficulties to build a simple table or something like that. Maybe, it's the name (that has been given to a piece of furniture) that confuses people when building furniture. Luckily, Ikea has manuals! And these manuals are sooo simple to 'read'. It's like as if it's written especially for the clumsy furniture-builders.

OK, if you dream about sushi, think about sushi, if you just want to EAT sushi, then I recommend you not to eat this sushi. This is burnable sushi! No, no don't expect to get a baked piece of fish on some rice. It definitely won't taste jummy (well you can try it). The only thing you'll taste is wax or paraffin. Yes, these beauties are real sushi candles. Now you have an excuse to play with your 'food'!

Meet goth-loli Vocaloid Mayu

A few weeks ago a new Vocaloid has been introduced to the public: the gothic-lolita girl Mayu. This one sounds and looks less sweet than Hatsune Miku. Yes, Mayu is even holding an axe with her right hand on pictures. And the music, well, she sounds a tiny bit less cute than Hatsune. She's more a pop/rock vocaloid.

But are we really waiting for another Vocaloid? No, not me. But for Vocaloid fans, there's some good news. The creators, Exit Tunes say that 'people are free to use Mayu’s character design, voice and name for items sold or distributed in a limited scale without the permission of Exit Tunes.' So, no more restrictions, you can use the character for all your creations. This gives fans something extra. Hmm, if you want to come up with a totally new type of Vocaloid, why not use a male version. How would that be and sound like?

Anyway, check out Mayu's songs, maybe you'll like this one better than Hatsune Miku...

When I go to the candyshop, I often see a candy shaped like a hamburger. Mmm hamburger...one bite of the hamburger and the only thing I taste is extreme sweetness and sugar. Hm, too bad. Wouldn't it be jummier if the candy really tasted like a hamburger?

Well, Japanese brand Kracie, came up with something really cool. Make your own little candy hamburgermeal in a few minutes! RRcherrypie prepared this meal. And this person says that "It tastes like real hamburger, bread, cheese, ketchup, french fries and cola". Jummy! This looks sooo jummy! Would you buy this make-your-own-hamburgermeal or would you buy a real hamburgermeal?

How to survive a Robopocalypse

Sometimes they look so cute. But sometimes they're scary as hell. For example the realistic clone of a Danish scientist: the Geminoid. Or the one that can think for itself (and is also self-learning). What about the hair-washing worker. So, the day will come that they'll take over a lot of our own work. OK, what am I blabbling about? ROBOTS!

It seems like science fiction. But what if they really are going take over the world? Well, there's a person, Daniel H. Wilson, who wrote the sci-fi book "Robopocalypse". Daniel is a robot-expert. Now Epipheo interviewed Daniel to find out exactly how to survive a robot uprising. It's pretty interesting and the interview is not too technical, so everyone can understand it. Oh, by the way, Steven Spielberg has committed to direct a film based on Daniel's book Robopocalypse. It will be released on July 3, 2013. And I can't wait to see it!!!

Review: Jean Paul Gaultier x Coca Cola Light

The design bottles of Coca Cola are back and this time the drink is bottled in a Gaultier couture!

And ofcourse I had to try it. The design of the pink bottle is sexy, and has the typical Gaultier look! Personally I liked the ones by Karl Lagerfeld more. I had this bottle for a while being pretty in my fridge. But yesterday I was craving for some sparks, so I had to open this bottle.

Without the cap, the bottle is kind of useless. Also it looks a little dull and I can't put the cap back on. Maybe if you are a big fan of Gaultier or Coca Cola, then there's a reason to keep the bottle. Mine disappeared in the bin. Sorry Jean Paul! :)

The coke inside was just Coca Cola Light. Again, when seeing the bottle, I expect an exotic strong drink. Maybe my eyes are too spoiled... To me this bottle was nothing more than another Coca Cola bottle.

Meet the Hair-Washing Robot

If you're too lazy to wash your own hair, then this new invention might be perfect for you. And you don't even have to ask a person to wash your hair, but....a ROBOT!

Last month Panasonic introduced the Head Care Robot, a real Hair-Washing Robot. It's a special machine attached to the chair. The machine has three arms. One on the left, right and one beneath the neck, each with eight fingers. This way, the robot can massage the shampoo and conditioner better in your hair.

The robot is in trial at Hair Salon Super Seo in Nishiyama City (Japan). Originally it's designed to support staff at hospitals and care facilities with hair washing. But I think that if it really becomes a success, we will find these robots in hair salons too (in the near future). Hmmm, do you want to try this robot out? The small thick fingers of this robot look too scary to me. You can't ask the robot to massage your head more softly. What if the robot suddenly freaks out and presses your brain out, OMG ieeeekkk!! YES! Vans is back with a new Vans Summer 2012 Hello Kitty collection! It's not the first time that they work together with Hello Kitty. Last year Vans introduced the Hello Kitty x Vans collection for the first time. Of course Vans had to discuss the collaboration with Sanrio AND Hello Kitty herself. Hmm, have you ever fantasized about a volcano where not lava, but molten chocolate comes out of the crater? Uhm, I mean, when you were younger...

Stop fantasizing, because now you can have your own chocolate volcano! Designer Stéphane Bureaux created FUJISAN. It's a chocolate cake with a chocolate candle in the middle of it. Light up the candle and see how it melts slowly. This way, it fills the crater of the cake. Now you can see in front of your eyes how beautifully hot lava flows out of the crater. Chocolate lava, jummy.

Make music with floppy disks!

Who would have thought you can make music with floppy disks! But wait, do you still remember floppy disks? If not, go wikipedia it! ^_^

I still have some disks laying useless in dust, my PC now doesn't even have a disk drive! Nowadays you can't think of having a disk with only 320 kb of saving space on it!

Some guys manipulated their floppy disks and transformed them into a musical beatmachine. Star Wars' Imperial March, Haddaway's What is love? are among the creative highlights.

Sadako (the Ring) in 3D

Guess who's back.....SADAKO iieeeeeeeek!!! She's the scary girl with the white dress and long black hair hiding her face. And she likes to crawl out of your TV. Yup, the girl from the best horrormovie I've ever EVER seen: The Ring (or Ringu in Japanese). I still remember the day I saw the movie. That day I was toooo scared to take a pee alone at night (at home!), so I had to wake up a friend in the middle of the night, to escort me to the bathroom.

Anyway, Sadako is scarier then ever. Director Tsutomu Hanabusa made the movie Sadako 3D. Yes, it's in 3D, OMG! The story is pretty much the same as The Ring series. Yet this one has a modern twist. Because we live in a digital social media society, Sadako crawls out from computers screens and smartphone screens, instead of TV's. I don't like to watch 3D movies, but I really need to see this one!

Sadako 3D will be released in Japan on May 12. There was a huge promotion campaign in Japan. Last Sunday, fifty people dressed in special costumes recreating the scene where Sadako crawls out of the TV, invaded Tokyo's Shibuya Crossing. And a huge replica of Sadako crawling out of a screen has been put on the back of a truck, driving around the city. Check out the video of the truck:

Hello Kitty loves to wipe your snot

My, oh my. It seems like Hello Kitty can't get enough of cleaning and wiping our human parts. Last time we've posted about the buttcleaning Hello Kitty. Now she's in the mood to blow and undo our nose of snot, teary eyes. And wipe our I've-eaten-too-much-bulgogi-mouths and sticky icecream hands....

Our lovely Dutch drugstore Kruidvat has Hello Kitty tissues! These tissues come in small packages of five and tissueboxes. I bought a tissuebox. The tissue consist of three thin layers, with pink Hello Kitty motives on it. During fabricating, things went a bit wrong, I guess. There's a white stripe in the middle of the tissue. Ah well, these products are not expensive, so I don't mind. It's nicer to see Hello Kitty wiping our nose then just a plain blank tissue, right?

Big Bang welcome you to Korea

These guys, with their tough, almost bad boy image, suddenly look like innocent sweet little boys, starring in a new commercial.

Yup, they have been chosen to participate in a public campaign 'Hello Korea' to encourage visitors to come to the country. Director Han Kyung Ah, of the marketing department said “Popular idol group Big Bang’s friendly, approachable image pairs well with our campaign concept. We hope that through our partnership, visitors will warm up to the idea of visiting Korea.”

Well, it doesn't take much to persuade me to visit Korea, because I'm already dying to go there (for sure, I will eat 24-hours non stop, from the moment I set foot on the country), but I don't have the money, *boehoeh*. Anyway, back to Big Bang. In the commercial they greet foreigners in Spanish, French, Japanese, Chinese, Thai and English. And the way they greet, hahah omg, with a Disneyland-ish voice, Mickey Mouse Club dance, hahaha lovely, as if they really welcome you to Disneyland. Last year, we've posted about flying with Hello Kitty airlines, or well, Taiwan airlines - EVA Air. EVA Air transformed three airplanes into real Hello Kitty planes. The exterior in Kitty-style and also things inside the plane, from papercups, cushions and Kitty shaped food. Well, that's not the only Kitty thing, because now you can also check in at special Hello Kitty self check-in kiosks, carrying a special....Hello Kitty boarding pass! Cool! Manga Jin becomes Korean dorama

Finally I've reached the last episode of the Korean drama Twelve Men in a Year and I love it! The final episode is fantastic! So, what's next?

Well, a new drama has caught my eye: Time Slip Dr Jin. Originally it's a manga written by Motoka Murakami. This medical drama is about a surgeon who goed back in time to the Joseon Dynasty in the 1860s, and works there as a doctor. In this past, he struggles to adapt his medical practice.

Hmm, I'm not a big fan of historical dramas, but this drama has a top-cast! Manly-man Song Seung Hun has the leading role as the surgeon *eheh*. He's also known from My Princess and Ghost. Kim Jaejoong, who played the cutie in Protect the Boss, has a part in this drama too. And Park Min Young (from City Hunter) has a role. Hmpff, why didn't they cast someone else. I don't like her acting, her voice, her face, everything!!!

Anyway, I still need to wait 25 more days, before the series will start airing. Review coming soon!

Waiting for the Hello Kitty bus

More then ten years ago, our little town had special Christmas trams, during Christmas-time (duh). It was completely green and when you entered the tram, you could also hear lovely Christmas songs. I couldn't wait to take this special tram. It just made the trip a bit more pleasant and peaceful. Unfortunately, these trams don't exist anymore. Well, because it's not Christmas and I think less people nowadays don't appreciate theme-trams or buses. Too bad. Would people appreciate Hello Kitty buses? Well, I do!

Yup, a Japanese bus company, Hatobus, has Hello Kitty themed buses! Besides the outside, the seats and ceiling are Kitty too. Isn't that cute? These aren't regular buses, but special tour buses driving in Tokyo. Check out the pictures, here at JUMI!

UBIQ again with Hello Kitty sneakers

UBIQ still loves Hello Kitty. Yup, last year we've posted about their sweet colored Hello Kitty sneakers, which reminded me of the Jeremy Scott's. Now UBIQ worked together with Japan's Earth Zone. And they've created some new Hello Kitty sneakers. They come in two colors: white/red and pinkypink (with of course a yellow nose)! These Kitty's are, like the Reebok Hello Kitty's, fluffy. So I don't think it's a very good idea to wear them when it's raining. The Hello Kitty x UBIQ x Earth Zone will be released next month.

Imagine this: It's rush hour. The buses, trams, subways and trains are packed. Suddenly an elderly man gets into the bus. But there are no seats left. What do you do? Will you give your seat to this old man? Or not? Well, sometimes it might be wise to do so.

The people in this short animation had bad luck one day. An elderly man got into the subway, and nobody gave their seat to the man. Not so friendly. And not a good idea, because he's a Jedi! And it has some consequences...
