Things have been so busy around these parts that I am very behind with my blogging but can’t believe I haven’t shared this sweet little boy with you yet! What a gorgeous Mum and bub they are and such a beautiful session we had. I just love capturing the “calm” of newborns. It might not always feel like that for the parents (particularly at 3am) but the soft quietness of a new baby is such a sweet thing. And its hard to resist a cute baby bum.

It’s hard to put into words how fabulous a JinkyArt workshop is, and how much fun it is to plan a dream shoot. Put together a gorgeous location, beautiful models, a sweet little pony and a rabbit, not to mention dreamy light…and its photographer heaven!

Thanks again to Barb for such a magical weekend! I loved every minute of it and can’t wait to do it all again next weekend!!

I am so excited to once again be hosting the amazingness that is a Jinky workshop! Everytime I attend or host or assist at one its like I get a shot of creative adrenaline and can’t wait to go out and try new things and create beautiful images

And I’m also very lucky to have shot this session with Barb – my gorgeous girls (well I can say that – in my biased Mummy way!).

I just love love love being asked to photograph a family for the second (or third or fourth…) time! Its just so lovely seeing the kids grow up and getting to know my clients better…and this family were no exception. Their little girl was only 6 weeks old when I first photographed them and look at her now! Such a gorgeous big brother she has too…he has the sweetest smile and some pretty cool toy cars

A few months ago when my gorgeous friend Barb of JinkyArt asked me to come to Bali with her to assist with shoots and her workshop….well, let’s just say it didn’t take me long to say “absolutely!”

It was a whirlwind trip – driving all over Bali to shoot in some absolutely stunning locations, meeting some gorgeous gorgeous Indonesian families (and their totally stunning and adorable children) . Ironically, I didn’t actually take a lot of photos as I spent a lot of time running around, fetching things, balancing cameras and helium balloons and blowing raspberries to make the kids smile – it was definitely a lot of fun! I did manage to sneak in a few images here and there….

It was my first time in Bali and I was just so struck by how lovely and friendly the Balinese people are, particularly our wonderful wonderful host Cicilia! Plus its always a bonus to make more new photographer friends who attended the JinkyArt Workshop. I look forward to staying in touch with you all!!!

Wow things have been busy around here…I have so much catching up to do, blogs to post, images to share and gorgeous families to showcase.

This family was just sweetness personified…a family I had photographed before when their littlest was just a baby. Now that baby is a funny, cheeky gorgeous toddler … her older sister is still just as beautiful…their bigger sister and brother so gorgeous…oh and let’s not forget their super cute new cousin!

This time of year, there’s always a pretty clear trend in the bookings I take….family. As Christmas approaches (and it always approaches so fast!) and people start to think about what to get their loved ones as presents, the idea of family photos pops up. I do love this time of year because I get to meet so many lovely families and see the connection they have to each other. This family’s images are some of my favourite so far because not only do they show how gorgeous this family are, but also what a beautiful connection they have. I am always draw to images that show that interaction – sure we all like to have a photo of everyone smiling at the camera like the first image here (great gift for the grandparents!) but for me the images that show how a family *is* together are the most special.
