Wouldn’t it be great to shave off a few years instantly and with very little effort? It’s possible to look younger in just a few minutes with these simple, but practical tips.
Wear the Right Scent Studies show that certain aromas can influence age perception. "Rose" has been shown to remind men of "older women" while the scent of citrus denotes "younger women." The world’s first anti-aging perfume, Ageless, incorporates pink grapefruit with pomegranate, jasmine, mango and musk, a combination that’s been proven to make men perceive women as eight years younger.
Use Sunless Tanners A nice tan can be slenderizing and give the appearance of a youthful glow, but sunbathing can also make your skin wrinkled, leathery and uneven in tone. Today’s self-tanners are effective and natural looking. The Solerra Sunless Tanning Mitt is my favorite way to get the slimming, youthful effect of a healthy tan without the self-tanner ever touching my hands.
Take Care of Your Hands Hands can show your age, but here’s a quick way to fool Father Time. Research shows that photos of hands with nail polish and jewelry look younger to study participants than photos of the same hands without polish and jewelry. Also, hiding blue veins and other imperfections on the hands is simple using a tinted moisturizer with SPF 15 or higher, such as Olay's Touch of Foundation.
Incorporating these quick shortcuts into your regular routine can put you on the fast track to looking younger and feeling more confident.

A few months ago, I tried my hand at acrylic painting. It was fun and relaxing. The paintings did not turn out exactly the way I envisioned but it was an overall success. The true reward was allowing myself the freedom to be creative and uninhibited.
Being a very serious person, I am fascinated by what sparks creativity in people. What makes some of us think in terms of black and white and others swirl with tye dye? If you were wondering, I am the black and white voice of reason and practicality in my family and the “boys” are both 100% tye dyed!
If you are having trouble sparking your creativity or breaking out of the day-to-day routine, try some of these fun suggestions from Doug Hall author of Jump Start Your Brain and Jump Start Your Business Brain. These suggestions will help you get in touch with the uninhibited person you were as a child.
- Inhale the contents of a helium balloon.
- Buy a joy buzzer, pepper gum, black soap, and fake dog poo and learn how to use them properly.
- Climb a tree.
- Fly a kite. Pretend you are the kite.
- Hang by your knees from the monkey bars.
- Roll down a hill.
- Swing as high as you can.
- Write a letter in crayon.
- Visit a fun house.

In a prior blog I talked about detoxification for enhanced health and prevention of illness. One huge component that people most often overlook is probiotics. Fiber as a colon cleanser steals the show. Probiotics also have their good points. They are good germs and good bacteria that live within us and just like fiber has been proven to prevent disease and improve health.
Without adequate levels of probiotics in our intestinal system, we become toxic. That’s why they are an important part of a detox program. Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium are the main bacteria that colonize our gut. They create an acidic environment where bad bacteria and yeast cannot grow. Lactobacillus produces substances that kill bacteria. Lactobacillus even manufactures vitamin K which helps our clotting system (without enough vitamin K, we would bleed to death and die!). Their levels decrease from use of antibiotics and even worse, bad bacteria and yeast such as Candida Albicans can take up residence. Although these new inhabitants can cause disease, they have evolved to be very discreet so many of us will not even know they exist.
