You would think that since engines today give you more power, they’d be bigger – wrong. Think about iPods : when they first came out, they were huge & barely able to fit in your pocket! Today, the smallest iPod can hold so much music! It honestly amazes me every time I see them. Do you see what I’m saying? If you go to an Auto Salvage Yard in your area, you can probably find an old engine that produces as much power as the new engine. The main difference would be that the engine that’s newer is more compact and will seem that it can’t power a big huge car! I don’t know about big semi trucks .. but it will be able to power a big car; I guess it just depends on what size.

1. Parts are cheaper so you don’t always have to go to the dealership & spend a gazillion dollars.

2. People are nice.

3. They’re local so you don’t waste gas.

4. They have tons of parts that you can choose from.

If your car was really & truly airtight, the windows would have no chance of ever defrosting, it would get miserably hot inside the car, no one in your car would be able to breathe, and you’d probably have to take your car to a Wrecking Yard since it’s not save to drive in it.

If you can’t breathe, then I’m pretty sure that should be what triggers you to take your car to an Auto Wrecking Yard .. just saying.

When there’s a cylinder that’s not needed in an engine, it’ll shut down. That’s part of the newer technology that’s in the newer engines. If you look at older engines in Auto Salvage Yards , all of the cylinders will work at the same time which will cause them to waste more energy and eventually, more gas. Why do you think cars today get so much better gas mileage?

When you wax your car, it helps protect & maintain the paint job on your beautiful car by preserving oils in the paint that help to prevent oxidation. Since cars in the Auto Junkyard don’t get waxed, that’s why their paint job looks like the way it does.

When you go to the Wrecking Yard to get the shocks that you need for your vehicle, you have to first make sure which shocks that you need for your car. You don’t want to buy them and then they don’t work with the type of car that you have. You pretty much have two choices: you can stick to the ones you had originally or you can upgrade.

I don’t think the engines from Auto Junk Yards are going to be that old, but they’re not going to be that new where you can just swoop them up and put them in your car. You have to remember that the engines back then just had to keep up with horses, now they have to drive on the freeway.

As time as gone on, there are so many financial responsibility laws that it make it super hard to keep up with – you don’t even know which insurance policy you need! What’s pretty annoying is that police officers have the right to set up traffic checkpoints to make sure that you’re driving with insurance.

Therefore, make sure that your car doesn’t end up in any Car Salvage Yard across town.

This is the part where we cover the last numbers that are part of your VIN. The last six digits (12-17) are categorized as the production sequence numbers. These are the numbers that identify the vehicle itself – I guess you can say it’s like a serial number!

Since every single car manufacturer has a different code, and every car that’s made in the same factory has it’s own production sequence number, every car that’s made in a certain year has it’s own unique VIN. Some Junk Yards will separate them by this and some will just jam all of the cars together. I guess it all depends.
