						<title>Desain dan Implementasi Mesin Penggiling Singkong untuk Peningkatan Produktivitas UMKM Kerupuk Bu Ita di Kabupaten Lima Puluh Kota</title>

										<description>&lt;p&gt;Small and medium food enterprises in Indonesia continue to face challenges in adopting appropriate processing technologies, particularly in cassava-based production, which limits efficiency, productivity, and product quality consistency. This study aims to design and implement a food-grade cassava grinding machine as a technological intervention to increase production capacity at the Kerupuk Bu Ita enterprise in Padang. The research applied a Research and Development (R&amp;amp;D) approach using the Define–Design–Develop–Evaluate–Disseminate model with participatory involvement of the target users. The machine was tested through performance measurement, time efficiency analysis, and ergonomic assessment. The results indicate a substantial improvement compared to the manual process, where grinding capacity increased from 10–13 kg/hour to 70–80 kg/hour, representing a productivity enhancement of 450–580%, while processing duration was reduced from approximately 3 hours to about 1 hour, resulting in a 66% reduction in processing time. In addition, user evaluation shows that the machine is easier to operate and ergonomically more suitable for continuous use. These findings demonstrate that the developed cassava grinding machine significantly improves production performance and offers a practical solution for strengthening the competitiveness of SMEs. The study contributes scientifically by providing a validated prototype of appropriate technology tailored to the operational and ergonomic needs of small-scale food production units.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

						<title>Pemberdayaan Petani Melalui Pemanfaatan Limbah Kayu Manis Sebagai Energi Alternatif Dengan Pirolisis Drum Tertutup di Nagari Malalak Kabupaten Agam</title>

										<description>&lt;p&gt;Nagari Malalak Timur is a major cinnamon (&lt;em&gt;Cinnamomum burmannii&lt;/em&gt;) production center, but faces critical post-harvest challenges. Weather-dependent drying processes delay sales, while abundant stem and leaf waste are openly burned, causing severe air pollution and energy loss. This community empowerment program explicitly aims to solve these environmental and economic issues by converting cinnamon stem waste into clean alternative energy using an optimized closed-drum pyrolysis system, while simultaneously enhancing farmers&#039; technical capacities. The participatory action research approach involved the Toboh Organik Farmers Group. Implementation stages included waste potential mapping, fabricating a 30-kg-capacity pyrolyzer equipped with a Raspberry Pi Pico microcontroller and an electric blower for precise thermal control, and conducting comprehensive operational, maintenance, and safety (K3) training. Charcoal quality was evaluated against the SNI 01-6235-2000 standard. The intervention yielded significant improvements. Technologically, the pyrolyzer achieved a high conversion efficiency of 38%, producing premium charcoal with a calorific value of 6,780 kcal/kg and 6.2% moisture content. Environmentally, the integrated re-burning system reduced hazardous smoke emissions by 60% compared to open burning. Socio-economically, the program successfully decreased agricultural waste by over 60% and increased farmers&#039; overall income by 30–35% through the creation of a new marketable product. These findings confirm that the introduction of controlled, locally adapted pyrolysis technology not only resolves waste and weather-dependency problems but also fosters rural energy self-sufficiency. The establishment of the &quot;Malalak Hijau&quot; enterprise highlights the program&#039;s substantial contribution to sustainable community empowerment and circular economy practices.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

						<title>Hilirisasi Sereh (Cymbopogon citratus) menjadi Produk Hand Sanitizer untuk Pemberdayaan UMKM Pasca Bencana di Nagari Sipinang, Kabupaten Agam</title>

										<description>&lt;p&gt;The significantly disrupted socio-economic conditions in Nagari Sipinang, Agam Regency, particularly through the degradation of agricultural land and reduced household income. This study aimed to evaluate a community-based, value-added intervention utilizing lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus) as a raw material for hand sanitizer production to support post-disaster recovery and micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) development. A quasi-experimental community empowerment design was employed, involving 30 participants selected through purposive sampling. The intervention consisted of structured educational sessions on post-disaster hygiene risks, hands-on training in aqueous-ethanolic extraction of lemongrass, and technical assistance in formulation and packaging. Pre- and post-intervention assessments were conducted to measure changes in knowledge, skills, and production capacity. Product evaluation included organoleptic testing and pH analysis using standardized procedures. The results demonstrated a significant improvement in participants’ competencies, with mean knowledge and skill scores increasing by 80% (p &amp;lt; 0.05). Additionally, one community-based MSME unit was successfully established, producing hand sanitizer at a small commercial scale. The formulated product exhibited acceptable organoleptic properties, including a characteristic fresh aroma, and maintained a stable pH of 5.5, consistent with topical safety standards. In conclusion, the downstream utilization of lemongrass represents a scientifically grounded and economically viable strategy for enhancing community resilience. This approach not only contributes to post-disaster public health mitigation but also facilitates sustainable MSME revitalization in Nagari Sipinang.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

						<title>Optimalisasi Pemilahan Sampah melalui Teknologi Tepat Guna untuk Produksi Paving Blok di Bank Sampah Banjarmasin Utara</title>

										<description>&lt;p&gt;Urban plastic waste management remains a major challenge in many Indonesian cities, including Banjarmasin. The increasing volume of plastic waste has led to material accumulation and limited utilization of shredding residues, particularly high-density plastic fractions that lack economic value. This community service program aimed to improve plastic waste sorting performance in order to optimize the value of plastic shredding residues through the application of appropriate technology. The methodology integrated Participatory Rural Appraisal, Asset-Based Community Development, and Community-Based Technology approaches, involving 14 staff members of the Banjarmasin Municipal Waste Bank from June to November 2025. Technological implementation included the development of a waste sorting device, operational assistance, and training on utilizing plastic residues as raw materials for paving block production. Evaluation was conducted across technical, operational, and partner capacity aspects by comparing conditions before and after program implementation. The results demonstrated a significant improvement in plastic waste sorting performance, reflected in increased sorting capacity, enhanced operational stability, and improved work efficiency. Improvements in operational flow contributed to reduced plastic accumulation and increased utilization of shredding residues for paving block production. Partner capacity also improved, particularly in understanding circular economy principles, technical capability in paving block production, and awareness of business development based on plastic waste utilization. Overall, the application of appropriate technology successfully optimized the value of plastic residues, increased economic added value, and strengthened an integrated urban waste management system based on circular economy principles and community empowerment.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

										<description>&lt;p&gt;Organic waste from food scraps is a major contributor to environmental pollution. The Madrasah Aliyah at the Mu’allimin Islamic Boarding School generates approximately 15–20 kg of organic waste per day, which is directly disposed of in a temporary storage area without any treatment. This has the potential to cause odors, environmental pollution, and health hazards. Therefore, food waste management is necessary to address these issues. One method of waste management is solar biodigester technology combined with bioactivators, which is a simple, inexpensive, and easy-to-implement technology. This community service activity aims to apply solar biodigester technology combined with bioactivators to reduce organic waste. Success indicators include a reduction in the volume of organic waste, the production of solid and liquid compost, accelerated degradation time, and increased understanding among participants. The method used is Participatory Approach through stages of outreach, training in the construction and operation of solar biodigesters, and practical sessions on bioactivator production. Evaluation was conducted by measuring waste volume before and after treatment, observing the degradation process, and assessing participants’ level of understanding. The results showed that the application of solar biodigester and bioactivator technology was able to reduce kitchen waste volume by 50.8% with a faster degradation time compared to conventional methods, and participants’ knowledge increased by 52.68%. The integration of solar biodigesters and bioactivators is effective in reducing organic waste, accelerating degradation, conserving land, and being environmentally friendly.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

						<title>Penerapan Budidaya Ramah Lingkungan dan Branding Produk untuk Meningkatkan Kapasitas KWT Anggraini di Kecamatan Sitiung Kabupaten Dharmasraya </title>

										<description>&lt;p&gt;Environmentally sustainable agriculture has become a critical global issue in addressing climate change, land degradation, and food security challenges. However, at the smallholder level, its implementation remains constrained by limited knowledge, skills, and market access. This community service program aimed to: (1) improve the capacity of members of the Anggraini Women Farmers Group (KWT) in producing environmentally friendly agricultural inputs; (2) increase the adoption of sustainable cultivation practices; and (3) enhance product value through branding. The program was conducted over six months using a participatory community empowerment approach involving 15 group members. The methods included training, demonstrations, hands-on practice, and continuous mentoring. Evaluation was carried out using pre-test and post-test assessments and Likert-scale questionnaires. The results showed significant improvements across all indicators. Knowledge of environmentally sustainable cultivation increased from 20% to 100%, while skills in producing organic fertilizers and botanical pesticides improved from 30% to 80%. The ability to manage crop cultivation from planting to harvest increased from 50% to 100%. In addition, understanding of product branding increased from 10% to 100%, and promotion skills improved from 10% to 80%. The participant satisfaction level reached a score of 4.8, indicating high relevance and effectiveness of the program. This study demonstrates that an integrated approach combining technical training and marketing strengthening based on local resources is effective in improving farmer capacity and independence. The program has strong potential for replication to support sustainable agriculture development and enhance the economic value of smallholder farming groups.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

										<description>&lt;p&gt;The utilization of sawdust waste in the early stages of mushroom cultivation represents an effort to support environmental conservation. However, challenges arise when the growing media becomes non-productive and remains underutilized. Accumulated baglog waste may serve as a reservoir for spore development, with the potential for airborne dispersion or transfer via workers’ clothing. Such conditions can trigger contamination within inoculation rooms, degrade media quality, and ultimately lead to cultivation failure. In addition, improper disposal practices, such as open dumping or burning, may contribute to environmental pollution and reduced sustainability of mushroom farming systems. Bioconversion technology offers a viable solution by transforming baglog waste into value-added products, including compost. Program components consisted of instructional delivery through an extension session on baglog waste bioconversion and hands-on practice in composting procedures. Practical implementation was supervised by the facilitation team to ensure participants’ comprehension and skill acquisition in processing non-productive baglog waste. The participatory approach enabled active engagement of participants throughout the program. Program implementation demonstrated an improvement in participants’ knowledge and technical competencies, particularly among members of the Limau Manis Sejahtera Women Farmers Group, in converting oyster mushroom baglog waste into compost. Participants successfully understood the composting stages and were able to independently apply the procedures. Baglog waste that was previously discarded or burned was effectively converted into compost, generating added value while simultaneously supporting environmentally sustainable agricultural practices.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
