Yesterday the boys rode their bikes to school for the first time. Both Jeff and I rode our bikes to school when we were kids but things are different now. Thankfully their school is only about 2 miles but they had to cross one of the busiest streets in the city. I woke them up before I left for the airport and told the Big One to text Jeff and me once they got to school. After my plane landed and I didn't see a text, I was just about to call Jeff, when the text arrived. They got there safe and sound.

They loved it, except for the freezing part. They didn't think to wear anything but t-shirts and shorts. Yeah, even though we live in California, the mornings get chilly. It was about 50 degrees yesterday when they left. So next time they'll be bundled up.

Missed a call from American Airlines this morning. No message was left. I'm flying five days out of seven next week, haven't received any schedule changes so I thought I'd call to make sure there were no radical changes to my flights.

AA Reservations looked and said everything was good and transferred me to the Platinum desk in case they were the ones who called. Helpful agent said they hadn't called and maybe I missed an invitation because "sometimes American Airlines will call to invite people to things and if they don't answer they go on to the next person."

The big thing coming up with American Airlines is the Oneworld MegaDO 2012, beginning on January 23rd (the international portion) with the domestic portion starting on January 25th.

So American, if you called me this morning to invite me to the Oneworld MegaDO 2012, I promise to answer the phone. I wasn't screening calls, just indisposed. I promise to now bring my phone with me at all times...

Sitting patiently waiting for the call back from American Airlines....

"I made $4 today." the little one told me this evening.

"How did you do that?" I asked.

"I sold 4 candy bars to my friends." he replied.

"Way to go! High five!" I responded.

His entrepreneurial spirit is coming out. That's my boy.

He has his business name picked out, "Little One's Store". Now to sit him down and start working on his business plan...

Nose picking, how far is too far?

Nose picking, apparently everyone does it, and in all sorts of places, even in public. Jerry Seinfeld did it in his car, albeit, it was just an itch but his girlfriend dumped him anyway.

Senator Hillary Clinton does it, and on the floor of the Senate no less.

So I guess it's ok to pick your nose when you're on a plane?

At least the guy seated next to me on the flight from Los Angeles to Chicago O'Hare thought so. He wasn't even trying to be stealth about it; he was going all the way, digging for gold.

At what point is it ok to offer assistance, like a tissue? I've offered Kleenex to someone who was sneezing, but when they are picking their nose, is offering a Kleenex a faux pas?

What happens if they get offended? Will they flick or wipe a booger on you?

The American Red Cross 6th Annual Battle of the Badges has begun.

The Vista Fire Department and Vista Library Teens are having their blood drive today and tomorrow at the Vista Library located at 700 Eucalyptus Avenue, Vista, CA 92084, in the Vista Library Community Events Room.

January 3, 2012 - 8am - 2pm

January 4, 2012 - 10:30am - 4:30pm

All blood drive participants will receive a Battle of the Badges t-shirt, a coupon for a free appetizer from Mimi's Cafe, and a voucher for two (2) tickets to a Los Angeles Clippers game.

While waiting for our flight home from the Tampa airport, I noticed four of the WWE Superstars: Alex Riley, Justin Gabriel, Mason Ryan, and another guy but I can't remember his name. Although it's kinda hard not to miss then when they tower over everyone and they can squash you like a bug.

They were flying on US Airways to the military base in Fort Wayne for a benefit for the troops.
