Uhmm... I have been home for toooo long...

2012-01-30T07:46:00.002-03:00

This is boring, this is stupid, been spending too many hours on Facebook since I came home.

Flight ticket booked... GOD DAMNIT NELLIE! Get rid of the party swedish! I´ll see you next week!

Be Trang og Be Phuong = Double trouble yay yay yay!

I loooove this feeling of booking flight tickets! It´s like chocolate, coffee, snus and chorizo at the same time!

21 Signs You’re a Travel Addict

2012-01-28T20:05:00.000-03:00

Been home for 31 hours and I´m bored already! I´m having a fever so I haven't stepped out of the house since I got home. So all I have been doing today is looking through the pictures from my previous trip, stalking people on Facebook and reading about traveling
And I found this article on Tripbase.com. Maybe it is the fever, but I find these kind of things pretty fun! Check out if you are a travel addict!

1. Your travel bucket list is 4 pages long - 4? Mine is 10 or more!

2. Coming home is more like a vacation from traveling - The problem is that I don't really enjoy this vacation from the vacation.

3. On your home-ward flight, you’re already planning your next trip - Normal

4. Once home, you’re already booking your next trip - Guilty

5. Staying in the same place for more than one week makes you fidgety - Staying home for one week makes me fidgety

6. Films make you want to travel - Off course

7. Books make you want to travel - Off course

8. Music makes you want to travel - Døøøh..?

9. Every day brings a new destination idea - Every hour brings a new destination idea

10. You work to fund your next trip - I work to live, not live to work.

11. 9 to 5 makes you feel like you’re in prison - I don't do 9 - 5.

12. You don’t wait around for people but take off on your own - I don't wait for people, people wait for me.

13. Thinking about all the places you haven’t been makes you feel anxious - Hmm.. No, not really. Thinking about home and vietnamese boys makes me feel anxious.

14. When you’re not traveling you fantasize about traveling - Not only about traveling, but yes guilty

15. You say you could stop traveling whenever you want - I wish!

16. You’re happiest on the road - No doubt

17. You’re constantly counting countries and continents - Guilty

18. Booking flights gives you an amazing high - Ooo... You have no idea!!! It´s like a joint and chocolate in the same time!

19. The high street in your hometown plunges you into despair - Luckily, the high street in my hometown is pretty short, but yes it makes me depressed.

20. You’ve tried living a stationary life many times but you always fall off the wagon - Can´t say that I tried many times, but no this is not the life I want.
21. Your parents have suggested you seek professional help - They are forcing me to marry a vietnamese guy to keep me home. BebeJezuus. I don't do dwarfs. Once you try Chorizo, you never go back to mini sausages.

Hi, my name is Yvonne, and I’m a travel addict.

How did you score?

Well... I know, this pictures has nothing to do with this post. But I was bored so I dressed this kid up and I think he is cute. Whatever, this is my blog, I can publish whatever I want.

Home is not the bad at all...

2012-01-27T15:47:00.000-03:00

104 hours, 6 countries, 9 flights, too many chocolate and too many tears. I'm finally back to where I call home. The trip back to Norway was not enjoyable at all! Too many flights, too many countries, eternal waiting, the flight from Puerto Rico to Frankfurt got cancelled so I was stuck on the island for 20 hours. Aaand I had to buy a new flight ticket from Frankfurt to Norway. But I'm home now. And home has never tasted so sweet like now...

Always a pleasure to see my adorable Goddaughter again, and I also got "hello and welcome home" flowers from a good friend :)

Oooh hello Odin! You are cute and useless as always.

My brother and his wife are preparing the dinner for the princess. Duck, duck, duck. Not bad at all! Mmm... I can get use to it.

Bella gave me this weirdo drawing. It´s okay darling. I still love you.

Tomorrow´s breakfast.

Norway is not that bad at all. Let´s see how long this happiness last.

False alarm, the princess is not coming home tomorrow!

2012-01-26T09:27:00.000-03:00

Dear people of Norway. False alarm, the princess is not coming home tomorrow! Flight cancelled. So, I´m stuck in San Juan, Puerto Rico for at least 20 hours. My Readers know that Im not a complainer. Not at all. Never. I would never complain in a situation like this. Never. Even when I have to stay in a four-stars hotel next to the beach. I guess I just have to do something with my tan, now that I am here...

Just another vacation from the vacation...

2012-01-02T13:14:00.002-03:00

Hard life. I´m having another vacation from the vacation. Funny how the beach, the sun, good people, good food and good times make you exhausted. No blogging for a couple of days.

By the way, Happy new year!

A different Christmas celebration. I like, I like!

2011-12-29T02:08:00.001-03:00

This Christmas was my first Christmas without my family. Which was really strange, but it was definitely a special one that I will never forget. I invited my closest ones in Buenos Aires over for dinner.

It was mucho, mucho, mucho of food (Very, very important)!!! Everybody made a dish or two each and we had the dinner on the rooftop. Amazing people, amazing food in an amazing city!

FELIZ NAVIDAD! MERRY CHRISTMAS! GOD JUL!

2011-12-24T11:59:00.003-03:00

Mừng Chúa Giáng Sinh!

Feliz Natal!

Selamat hari natal!

Felix dies Nativitatis! Joyeux Noël

Gleðilig jól!

Shnorhavor Surb tsnund!

It´s a tradition in Norway were the guys don't shave their mustache from December 1 until Christmas Eve. I tried to grow my own mustache, but didn't succeed. But mustache, we still have. It´s important to keep the tradition running. This is how Anna and I welcomed Christmas Eve in Buenos Aires. We walked around the street and showed up at Frank´s Bar like two taco-seller.

This Christmas is different from the other Christmas I´m used to. No family, no asian food, no karaoke, no asian Santa Claus, no presents under my Christmas tree. It´s weird, but I'm exited. I´m going to spend Christmas with my closest ones here in Buenos Aires. Foodparty at my place tonight! Yay!

Merry Christmas, amigos!

Enjoy and take care!

I don't have much to give, only cupcakes made with love. You might disagree, but cupcakes make people happy. They make me happy. They make kids happy. They simply put a smile on people´s face. And of course a couple of pounds on people´s waist too.

Thanks to Nellie and Grant who helped we with the cupcakes :)

Christmas party with Club Unión de los Pibes

2011-12-21T13:29:00.001-03:00

Hello, follows! So here are a few pictures from the Christmas party for the kids in Barracas.

These pictures are from my iPhone, so the quality is limited. I´ll post the rest of the pictures from the other camera later. I know, I´ve been lazy with the blog lately... Funny how busy you can be even you don't do anything.

The sweetest Christmas story ever told...

2011-12-19T14:27:00.000-03:00

Where is the Christmas spirit? Where is the snow? The cold? Where is the shopping stress?
This Christmas is going to be a bit different than what I´m used to. It´s 32 °C here in Buenos Aires, the sun is shining and I´m walking around in my summer dress all day. Weird. A good friend sent me this adorable video this morning, and it actually spiced up my Christmas spirit for maybe 10 minutes! These kids are so sweet and charming that I actually played the video on repeat a couple of time!

Talking about adorable kids and Christmas. The Christmas party for the kids in Barracas was a wrap! I´ll post the pictures later tonight. Time for sushi.

Hello, kids! My name is Yvonne and I come in peace.

2011-12-17T14:04:00.000-03:00

Peace and cupcakes.

Christmas Charity Project I: Feed the kids in Barracas with my cupcakes today. 15 PM at Polideportivo Don Pepe, Barracas. Come, come, come and see the kids get fat!

Yes, I do bake a lot of cupcakes. And you might wonder where I do with all the cupcakes. No, I don´t eat up all my cupcakes. I have been taking part of Club Union de Los Pibes since I came to Buenos Aires. Club Union de Los Pibes is a small, voluntary organization in Barracas, Buenos Aires. What the club basically do is helping the kids in Barracas with their homework and offer lessons in art, English, drama, cooking ++ We also arrange picnic event for the kids now and then. So my job is to bake cupcakes. I love it, and the kids love it. Check out Union de los pibes website. I know, we need to update the blog.

Anyways, today is a Christmas Party for the kids in Polideportivo Don Pepe, Barracas at 15 Pm. Please come and join us if you are in the neighborhood! These kids are really lovely. One of them is so fat and cute that I might going to bring him back to my apartment, so I can feed him with more cupcakes.

Have a nice Saturday, amigos! Gotta go, I have kids to feed.

2011-12-15T14:06:00.001-03:00

Lime sorbet, choco/dulce de leche and strawberry ice cream. mhmm

Tango show and dinner with Alejh.

Alejh was done eating for a while now. But we kept going strong.

No food on the table, look at that grumpy face.

At Muu, our favorite spot every wednesdays. Half price for girls, which means that Nellie can eat more for the same price.

The day she discovered Chocolate/Dulce de leche ice cream.

Snacks time. Peanut butter mixed with Dulce de leche.

What she likes about being social - The eating part.

Day 1. She was disappointed over my fridge so this was the first thing she did when she came to B.A.

Breakfast. Normal.

"Hi chicken, I can't wait to have you in my mouth"...

The best way to get to know a culture is to eat your way to it.

2011-12-14T01:50:00.000-03:00

In this case, Nellie is a champion when it comes to getting to know a new culture.

I remember how exited I was about Nellie visiting me in Buenos Aires. I couldn't wait to show her the city, my new home... The feeling of picking my best friend up at the airport still feels fresh. It feels like yesterday´s memories. But 2 weeks since she got her have passed by, and now she's back in Norway.Time goes fast when you are having fun. So fast that I didn't have time to absorb the things we did. I was pretty upset the day she left. So, I locked myself in my apartment for the whole day and looked trough the pictures of the last 2 weeks. Emo, nothing new. But what actually gave me a good laugh is that the pictures I have of Nellie are only pictures of her eating. It was her first time in B.A, first time in Argentina and yes, first time in South America too. And what did she do here? Eaten. She ate day in, day out. It was hardcore from the first day she arrived. We started her B.A experiences with a Thanksgiving dinner at Autum´s place. And then we went straight to another food party - dessert party at Clara´s case. And of course we baked cupcakes that day too. We planned to go to Le Tigre, didn't happen. We had a picnic at my rooftop instead. We wanted to spend our afternoon in the beautiful cemetery in Recoleta. Didn't happened. We baked cupcakes instead. We did go to Calle Caminito and acted like tourists for one day. Hated it, felt like retarders. And all we thought about was food. So we went to a parilla and ate all type of meat for 4 persons. We also visited China Town, but of course not for sightseeing....

So here is a sneak peat of Nellie´s stay in B.A... Ps! If you expect to learn something about B.A in this post. Don't bother
to read the rest.

Day 1. Thanksgiving dinner

Still day 1. Dessert party

Ooo no she is not done! This is a coffee break. Ready for round 2 pretty soon.

Day 2. Cupcakes to breakfast at 7 AM. This one is hardcore...

Hahaha She is just like a fat kid who eats everything you give her. Always happy when she gets food, even she woke up with a nazidick on her face...

"Mmm... This soup is good, but I really want morcillas to dinner tonight. And could we please drop in the supermarket? I want salami and some chinese snacks... Mmm.. Mooncakes!". FYI: She always plan her next meal before she is done with the current.

This was one the way to the supermarket...

She wanted morcillas. So here we go... Haha Nellie! The food is on the table, not next to you! Don´t give Fercha that look, you creepy asian.

Preparing my birthday dinner... Her specialize: Chicken salad. But it wasn't much chicken in the salad... I wonder why..

Eating her own salad after she finished half of the chicken.

Salad for Danni, cupcakes for Nellie.

Nellie is always the first one out. And always the last one too.

Ok. Check out the difference. I was posing. She was actually enjoying the cupcake.

Snacks at 5 Am. Normal.

This girl made this birthday cake for me. Even she was the one who ate most of it, she is still the best :)

Babe, B.A will never be the same without you... This Norwasian tour is just getting better and better. Just to let you know, if you had a penis, I would for sure married you!

Sexy time, crappy breakfast and bedbugs...

2011-12-10T12:49:00.001-03:00

So, i'm back in hostels. Last night was my first night at a hostel in a while. The vibe was good, friendly people and really interesting conversations. But there are three negative things That I hate about hostels:

Crappy breakfast. No fruits or fresh stuff, only bread and jam, Cereals and milk. I'm allergic to milk, so I'm screwed.

Bedbugs! Not so sexy bed company... But, hey! It's hostels not 5 stars hotels.

Sexy time. No, people don't get less horny even it's dirty here. So yes, they do have sex even there is other people around. The neighbor dorm had a pretty intense sexy time last night, and I think the whole hostel heard that. Now I remember why I was tired of the hostel life...

At least, I'm here with good people... So, crappy breakfast, annoying sexy time and creepy bed company... I will survive :) So far, Mendoza has been an OK host. Time for wine tasting!

I need a vacation from the vacation...

2011-12-09T00:41:00.001-03:00

It´s true! Too much has happened lately... I´m taking a break from Buenos Aires, heading to Mendoza for the weekend. I have no idea what I´m gonna do in Mendoza, all I know is that I´m gonna meet Agnese, my sister from another vagina. So perhaps she has done her homework and have a plan for us. I don't even know where to stay, and my flight is leaving in 2 hours, which means that I have to leave my apartment NOW!!! But I just got of the shower and I don't know why I´m writing this stupid blog right now... You never learn, Yvonne! Oki, gotta go... I have a flight to catch... Again...

Me and my beloved sisters... The yellow one is back in norway now... White girl, I´ll see you soon!

PS! It´ has been 61 hours without coffee.... So far, so not good at all... Can´t help that I´m addicted to good coffee!!!

Getting ready to look like shit again...

2011-12-08T17:34:00.001-03:00

I´m sending 2/3 of my stuff home. Bye bye high heels, gorgeous bags and beautiful dresses... Hello cut out tank tops, same old shorts, fisherman pants... Hello backpacking lifestyle... I´m looking forward to see you again...! Well not right now, but pretty soon!

And then I found this hilarious t-shirt that Chris gave to me as a "welcome back to Colombia" gift. Who gives t shirt with a print of itself as a gift? Weirdo Australian...

The last quality time with my baby, Mulberry before I send her back home with Nellie....

Bye bye lovers... I will see you again one day!

I´m sending this one home too. She eats too much. Can´t afford to support her any longer.

What to do when you are emo in Buenos Aires?

2011-12-06T13:23:00.001-03:00

1. Get pierced. Not 1, but 3.
2. Attend a food party. Comfort eating is the best way to satisfied the depressing.

Yesterday was my emo day. No special reason, I just like to be emo sometimes. I´m sure you know how it feels. You need a couple of emo days to make the other days happy days, right? Yes, thats my theory.
We didn't do much yesterday. Nellie and I went to a cafe to say goodbye to Dani, my german friend who is gonna leave B.A for couple weeks. And then we decided to drop in a piercing studio just to buy a couple of flesh plugs for Nellie. Bad idea. For some reasons I always get a kick and excitement when Im at a piercing studio. I don't know what happened, but we walked out of the studio with 5 piercings richer. 3 for me, 2 for Nellie. I love that Nellie is a person who is easy to persuade. I got her to pierce her nipple last time we where in NYC. And that was her first piercing ever! Haha poor girl, she is going to turn to an emo kid just like me. She is doing a good job so far, we just putted 2 microdermals on her body! FYI, a microdermal implants is a form for body modification where you basically place a single piercing under your skin where only the one part of the piercing is visible on the skin’s surface. This girl placed the microdermals on her neck, one on the back and one below her ear. For me, I got a Helix (at the top of the ear), and two microdermals too. One on my chest and the last one on my neck, below my ear too. Im really happy about the results. And yes it made my day better! I think I can see the pattern for this piercing addiction. I did the same thing when I was in Nicaragua. I was emo, what did I do? Got a septum piercing. Costa Rica, emo, what did I do? Got my septum and nipple pierced again. Colombia, emo, a helix. Oooh snap, now I sound like a super emo kid. Some people may disagree, but I think piercing is a beautiful form for body art. And I love it! I have all together 11 piercing on my body. It used to be 14, but I had to take out my surface piercing back on my neck and two helixes because of infection. And no, I don't mind to get more.

Getting exited about my new Helix! Im like a fat kid in a candy store when I get a new piercing!

This is Nellie after traveling with me.

Here we go again...

Nellie`s turn... Crazy, crazy chick!

Placing my new baby on my chest.

Nellie`s nipple piercing

Another microdermal

But in a good way, and it´s worth the pain!

Nellie´s first surface piercing. Beautiful!!!

My left side.

Me gusta!!!!

I love my microdermals, but if you are considering to get one, please think twice. It´s semi permanent!

If you get tired of it. There is only one way to remove it!

Time for comfort eating. We are not playing emo.

Look at this fucking retarders

A random lady on the street, I just can't get over her money maker. Gotta share this.

No worries. The sun is shining, Nellie is still in B.A, I´m happy today.

Love from B.A

Whoops! We just past 20 000 pageviews...

2011-12-05T03:46:00.001-03:00

Hurray for people who don't have better things to do than just reading meaningless stuff on the internet!

Really? Do I have friends in Hungary??? Random.

I really like that the top search keywords for my blog are "old lady", wife material" and "old chinese lady"

Lets celebrate with a cupcake :)

Good night stalkers from South America. Good morning stalkers from Europe!

"Yvonne, come home... It´s time to grow up"

2011-12-04T13:44:00.001-03:00

"Come home, get a job, get a man, get a house, grow up! You are 24 , and you are not getting younger"- Mummy. Auch!

So, I talked to my mum. You know, this kind of "Hi, mum! Im still alive" conversation. But this one was a bit different than the other conversation we used to have. She didn't ask much about what I have been doing lately. I guess she is tired of hearing the same old things: I have been baked cupcakes, I saw this and I saw that, I ate this and I ate that, I´m running out of money, I´m getting chubby and bla bla bla.... Instead, we had a mum and daughter conversation! She told me that I have to come home soon and it´s time to grow up. And that I have to stop wasting my time and fooling around like this. I guess it´s true... Maybe it is time to get serious! What have I been doing lately beside baking cupcakes? What have I achieved the past year? Of course I have grown, but not in the head, more in the size. So, I had a pep talk with myself and decided to book my flight home. Home, Norway, home, home, winter, same old faces, same old stories, routines, work, winter, home... So I booked the ticket, but not home... Bolivia! Weh weh weh...

Mum, I love you. But I have to disappoint you. I´m 14 in my head, and it will take me 10 more years until I turn 24. But don´t worry... I will come home one day....

Time to bake cupcakes, that´s what adults do...
