Whereas words do carry a disembodied meaning, otherwise they mean nothing and any text can mean anything. So, ultimately it leads to a poor hermeneutic. We can talk about action, but if we have no idea why we act, but we just do it because thats the only reason we will have meaning, then why act? The only words that then have meaning are the absolute words which state that there is no disembodied meaning.

Winners!

Winners!

Could it be that to be that involved would be unco...

Could it be that to be that involved would be uncomfortable? What if every Saturday or Sunday, no shops opened. People would completely slow down and rest. We would take a break from mindless consuming which we use to fill our time and energy. We have become slaves to consuming and it has become the substitute for all things meaningful, as if it promises something rewarding. I see it as the empty shopping fix people go on to fill empty relationships. There are people who go to the mall daily because they are lonely or looking for something that might fill what they are missing. Having a day where shops are not open, I believe would have a ripple effect. It may slow down the everyday busyness of life which ultimately robs us. Think of how much less we would consume because of it. Think of how few cars would be on the road. Think of the enviroment. And think of the Sabbath.

Thanks for your comment.
Maybe I'm just a dreamer.

Maybe I'm simple, or even just confused...

The industry scaremongers about loss of community founding... where do they think the money comes from if its not out of the community. Surely its better to give straight to the club that needs it than have over 2/3 taken out by the industry before it is returned to the community - onoy $1 in $3 makes it back.
