The subway of São Paulo is administered by Companhia do Metropolitano de São Paulo (Metropolitan Company of St. Paul) and is in operation since 1974. Despite having more than thirty-five years has not been grown sufficiently as the city needs. Today it has just over sixty kilometers of trails in four rows and one under construction, the yellow line.
With this small extension, the Metro serves the downtown area and a nearby neighborhoods. From my house to I take the subway, I need to take a bus, before.

Here I present the works of building a new station, attached to the train station of Luz (Light), which is part of the Yellow Line, intending to be inaugurated in 2012.

O Metro de São Paulo é administrado pela Companhia do Metropolitano de São Paulo e está em operação desde 1974. Apesar de ter mais de trinta e cinco anos não se desenvolveu suficientemente como a cidade necessita. Hoje ele possui apenas pouco mais de sessenta quilômetros de trilhos em quatro linhas e mais uma em construção, a linha Amarela.
Com esta pouca extensão o Metro atende a região central da cidade e alguns poucos bairros próximos. Da minha casa para eu chegar ao metro eu preciso pegar ainda um ônibus.

Aqui apresento a obra de construção de uma nova estação, anexa a estação de trem da Luz e que faz parte da linha Amarela, pretendendo ser inaugurada ainda em 2012.

and worked tirelessly to develop that city. Not long ago happened the arrivals in lot of the people of that European country, and they came to work at coffee harvest and the emerging industry, like a Matarazzo's Family industry.

My great-grandfather, Mr. Umberto Bresciani, came to

near the Great War

Now, here there are the traditional neighborhoods known by the Italian culture. The way of Paulistan speech remembers the Italian.

It is the Italian Street, no much known here, because it stay in industrial neighborhoods. There is the Cantina Ouro Branco (Canteen white gold), where is very pleasure to me to eat a good pasta.

A cidade de São Paulo muito se orgulha do povo Italiano que imigrou para o Brasil e colaborou incansavelmente no desenvolvimento desta cidade. Não se faz muito tempo que ocorreram as grandes chegadas da população daquele país europeu, e foram trabalhar na colheita do café e na indústria emergente, como a da família Matarazzo.

O meu bisavô, Sr. Umberto Bresciani, veio para o Brasil em meados da grande guerra.

Hoje aqui existem bairros tradicionais e conhecidos pela cultura italiana. O modo de falar paulista lembra o sotaque italiano.

Aqui na Rua dos Italianos, não muito conhecida por ser uma região industrial, há a Cantiana Ouro Branco, a qual tenho muito prazer em comer um bom macarrão.

Monumento às Bandeiras

Ibirapuera Park, São Paulo, Brazil

The Monumento às Bandeiras (Monument to the Flags) is a sculpture created by Victor Brecheret commissioned in 1921 by the government of the state of Sao Paulo, for the fourth centenary celebration of São Paulo city, opened in 1954.
It was granite made and have fifty meters long and sixteen high (185x59ft), is next to Ibirapuera Park, opposite the Nueve de Julio palace, the seat of the legislative assembly.

Represents soldiery and horses pulling and pushing a boat.

There is a local story that only the last man makes all the effort, pushing. Those who go ahead keeps pose, as we can see the strings are loose.

O Monumento às Bandeiras é uma escultura criada por Victor Brecheret encomendada em 1921 pelo governo do Estado de São Paulo, para às comemorações do quarto centenário da cidade de São Paulo, inaugurado em 1954.

Feita em granito com cinqüenta metros de comprimento e dezesseis de altura, está ao lado do Parque do Ibirapuera, em frente ao Palácio Nove de Julho, sede da assembléia legislativa.

Representa uma tropa de homens e cavalos puxando e empurrando um barco.

Há uma estória local que apenas o ultimo homem faz todo o esforço, empurrando. Os que vão à frente apenas posam, visto que as cordas estão frouxas.

The Luz Station is one train station inaugurated in 1901 and was made with

iron imported from the England. Nowadays, pass there a lot of people, when they are going to your jobs and they return to home. There, arrives and depart trains to a couple of cities around the São Paulo city.

Because that, it is important city place one, and belonging to historical heritage.

The train in Brazil is one popular transport, but more used for poor

people. The rich ones prefer moving by cars.

A Estação da Luz é uma estação de trem inaugurada em 1901, construída com ferro importado da Inglaterra. Nos dias atuais, por lá passam inúmeras pessoas quando elas vão para seus trabalhos e retornam para casa. Da estação parte trens para várias cidades da grande São Paulo e arredores.

Por estes motivos, este é um dos pontos mais importantes da cidade, e tombada pelo patrimônio histórico.

Os trens em São Paulo são um meio de transporte popular, no entanto, mais usado pela população de baixa renda. As pessoas da classe média e alta preferem se locomover com os seus carros.

This is the one Airport of São Paulo. It is not an Internacional Airport, but here comes domestic flights. Here we have three airports, and only one Internation in Guarulhos. That is the big one of Brazil.

Yesterday I had no time to participate integrally in sketchcrawl, but I did some sketchs in my city. Here I drew two old cars, abandoned at the street. Some people do it, because it maybe have lot late taxes

Ontem eu não tive tempo para participar integralmente do sketchcrawl, mas eu fiz alguns desenhos aqui na minha cidade. Eu desenhei dois carros antigos abandonados na rua. Algumas pessoas fazem isso, quando deixam muitos impostos atrasados.

Ultimamente tenho adorado ir aos Restaurantes japoneses em São Paulo. Este aqui é mais um deles e fica localizado nas Imediações da Av Braz Leme. Fui com alguns amigos em um dia chuvoso.

O que eu acho bárbaro nesta culinária é a combinação dos ingredientes, mas entre tudo a apresentação dos pratos. Qualquer restaurante Japonês que se preze deve saber como se coloca sobre a mesa os Sushis, Sashimis, Temaki, Tempuras e tantos outros. Esta culinária é muito bonita e apetitosa aos olhos e especialmente agrada ao meu paladar no verão. Este prato foi um Temaki. Eu desenhava enquanto meus amigos comiam. Isso tem se tornado um hábito.

Cathedral of our Lady of Conceição, in Guarulhos, SP,

. This is considered the mother church of Guarulhos city. Was built in 1685 and I think it’s a beautiful place of that city, but sometimes his doors are closed.

For the Catholicism, She is one manifestation of Mary, mother of Jesus from Nazareth.

Here we celebrate the day of the patron saint of the city on December 8th

Rainy Friday

I had a pleasure lunch in the past Friday with my friends Suzuki and Mariko, we went at that day to a Japanese restaurant. Not the better of that region but to a nice one. It was a rainy day. After the lunch, we walked with our brolly to Copenhagen to drink the better coffee of that city, in my opinion.

This is another view of the Braz Leme street. I finalized it this sketch in my house applying watercolors.
For the ground, It remembers me the Bill Watterson style, when he paints his sceneries for the comic stories Calvin and Hobbes. I like so much of those pieces.

Sexta-feira chuvosa

Na sexta-feira passada eu tive um agradável almoço com meus dois amigos Suzuki e Marico. Nós fomos a um restaurante japonês localizado em uma rua escondida da Braz Leme. Não era o melhor restaurante da região, sim um bem pequeno mas aconchegante. Era um dia chuvoso. Depois do almoço nos fomos tomar um saboroso café na Copenhague, o melhor da cidade na minha opniçao.

Esta é uma outra vista da Av Braz Leme. Depois eu finalizei este esboço na minha casa, aplicando aquarela.

Para a pintura do chão, eu me lembrei do tradicional estilo de pintura de Bill Watterson, quando ele pinta os cenários das histórias em quadrinho Calvin e Haroldo. Eu gosto muito destas tirinhas.

At the Vila Rosária in the twenty meters street, there is this beautiful house, on the way home, where I pass everyday. Some persons said that is Vila Galvão because it is nearby the Lake of the Ducks (Lago dos Patos).

I went there in one rainy sunday and I stopped front to sketch, in my car with the glasses closed to prevent the rain.

Na Rua Vinte Metros, na Vila Rosária há esta linda casa que é um caminho por onde passo todos os dias. Alguns dizem que o bairro é a Vila Galvão, pois fica muito próximo ao Lago dos Patos. Em um domingo de muita chuva parei para desenhar. Ainda dentro do carro e com o vidro fechado para impedir a chuva.

Caixa d'agua do Picanço

Subindo a Avenida Timóteo Penteado existe esta gigante reservatório de água que é a famosa Caixa d água do Picanço. Esta avenida liga a Vila Galvão que faz limite com a cidade de São Paulo e o Centro de Guarulhos. Subindo esta avenida chegaremos a praça Getúlio Vargas.

A direita, no desenho descendo após a caixa d água começa a Rua Cachoeira que vai até o Jardim Moreira. Neste bairro funciona a unidade de longa permanência das Casas André Luiz, que é uma fundação beneficente e de orientação Espírita e tem um importante trabalho com crianças que possuem deficiência física e mental de todos os níveis e é mantida por doações e trabalhos voluntários. Sempre que posso, mas menos do que gostaria, vou até a André Luiz e procuro de alguma forma auxiliar este trabalho. Desde muito jovem estive ligado a esta fundação. Uma das poucas lembranças da minha primeira infância foi quando a minha mãe levou uma caixa de brinquedos para doação e em alguns anos pude lá trabalhar. A André Luiz apensar de ser mantida por trabalho voluntário possui um quadro de funcionários contratados.

Quem sabe em um futuro próximo eu possa colaborar mais ativamente como voluntário nesta bela instituição. Lembro de uma frase de Emmanuel que diz “quando o trabalhador está preparado, o serviço aparece”.

At the last block of Doctor Timóteo Pentado avenue is the Vila Galvão burgh, well known in that neighborhood. There haven´t any attractive, nor is the greatest and sophisticated area of Guarulhos. The one thing most notable there, is the Lago dos Patos (Lake of Ducks), quoted in another post. I think the most sophisticated place in Guarulhos is the Jardim Mais with his park.

That´s the building of that corner of Timoteo Penteado with Rua da Quitandinha (street). In the bar, above in sketch, there is a good Chopp and is very popular on weekends.

No final da Avenida Doutor Timóteo Penteado está localizado a Vila Galvão, que é bem famosa nas redondezas. Ali não existe quase nenhum atrativo, tampouco é a área de maior desenvolvimento de Guarulhos, o único ponto mais notável é o lago dos patos, que citei em outro post. Acho que em Guarulhos a área que mais se sofistica é o Jardim Maia, famoso pelo bosque que ali existe.

Este é um prédio localizado na esquina da Av Dr Timóteo Penteado com a Rua da Quitandinha. No bar que existe abaixo do prédio tem um bom Chopp e muito freqüentado nos finais de semana.
