BFF days out..

So we (BFF and I) that Kim Soo Hyun aka. King Hwon in Moon Embraces the Sun was london bound and ever since that second I was restless..I was like I need to see him I need to see him! But as is life I got busy with work and wasn't able to go out 'Stalking' ---- note we don't stalk like saesang fans...!! yeah just wanted to say that lol

The first day he was here one of our friends actually saw him in oxford street while he was on his way out of TOPSHOP we were all like AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH spazzing as she was updating us on fb!! I was like omg...my future husband I need to see u!! T.T lol

The next day we went out as a fun day out, the sun was shinning ( not for very long -.-) and we met a new friend a long the way..so it was fun we walked down Oxford street shopping and 'hoping' to bump into him..but guess what...he didn't show up!! :( I was a lil sad until we started taking pictures and I totally forgot about it!! hehe It turned into a really fun day out and we shared a LOT of laughs - to the point where people were starting to look at us and think we were on something!! lol

P.s Around 2 months ago...we did get to meet Siwon from Super Junior...had eye contact, shook his hand and actually was told 'Nice to meet you'....I was standing there like O.O wait...is this really him??....didn't sink in till like 2 weeks later when I totally spazzed out!! haha here is a candid pic I took of him since we weren't allowed any actual pictures..

Kdrama in early 2012

2011 ended with some brilliant dramas and to my delight, it seems that 2012 is also featuring some fantastic dramas even though it has only been less than a month of this year!

First of all I would like to start by saying HAPPY LUNAR YEAR!! I hope you guys may have a brilliant year!As always I have been keeping my eyes peeled for any new dramas that would excite me and any of my readers and well I wasnt disappointed.

I can honestly say 2012 has started with a bang mainly because of 2 dramas that I am watching and with the prospect of another starting just around the corner :) - Dream High- 30/1/2012. Because the dramas are still currently airing I can't do a full review on the dramas but here is my first impressions:

1) Bachelor's Vegetable Store

I wasn't so interested in the drama when I read the synopsis since not a lot of detail was given BUT man was I wrong...this drama is awesome!!!!!! The first couple of episodes I couldn't peel myself away from the screen because I just had to know what was going on!! It is a story about an orphan child who grows up to be a very successful vegetable store owner- sounds boring right? TRUST ME it isn't...!! the story has a massive twist right at the beginning so you are left wanting to know what happens next all the time! Its a very well written very well acted out drama!! It doesn't hurt that the actors are cute :P and for Running Man Fans...you get to see Kwang Soo more!!

I absolutely LOVE IT so far!!

2) The Moon that embraces the Sun

Again this was something that I wasn't jumping to watch because I thought oh just another period drama...and again- I should really learn- I was totally wrong because this is a period drama with a dusting of fantasy. Its essentially a love story - best kind- between a king and a normal girl who then becomes a shaman. It is ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!! I was in absolute tears at ep 4-5!! The drama is written beautifully and the young actors have done a stellar job at portraying their characters! For the mature character Kim Soo Hyun and Jung Il Woo take the lead....and well with that pairing who would wanna watch this drama?? really cmon?? KIM SOO HYUN and his smile *melts* heheheh

Again I absolutely LOVE IT!

Another classic romantic drama :). Filmed by the same director who made “ Autumn Tale” a big hit !

Boys over Flowers- 2009

One word 'EPIC' ron-com! My 2nd most re-watched drama :) (1st being 'My girl')

Hilarious and heart-warming ron-com. My first and fav Lee Seungi's drama :D. A phrase you are most likely to learn after watching this drama "namu namu namu chiowahae/really really really like ----". Lee seungi ♥ Shin minha.

"Dream High" 2010

Like Minaz said, korean glee. May be a little bit better version :p. Kim hyun joong is in the 1st ep i almost fainted!! - p.s its minzi! haha

"Mary stayed all night" 2010

This is where my JGS fever started, he has the cutest n most charismatic KILLER SMILE *sighs....*. My first JGS drama :D. Both of them started their acting career from a young age. No wonder they are so good at acting, they look so cute together in this drama :).

The funniest drama of 2011 so far! I'm LOL-ing like a fool in every ep. Hong sisters are the best when it comes to comedy in romantic drama ! If you like 'my girl' or 'you're beautiful', you will love this too :).

" Scent of a woman" 2011

I thought this drama would be sad and depressing after reading the description of it. But I checked it out anyway because it is the first drama of Lee Dong Wook from " ♥ MY GIRL♥ " (my fav k-drama) since he's out from his military service. I was hooked from the first ep !!! It's up the 8th one now and there isn't a single ep that I don't love watching. There is something about this drama that makes me wanting more and more !!! It's witty and heart-warming :). I really hope the ending won't be sad, I'm a sucker for happy ending :P.

Cute and funny ron-com drama. It's up to ep 4 now, so far so good !!! I luv every ep of it and can't wait for the next week !!!

A typical korean rom-con with a touch of anime quirkiness and adorable characters, which make this drama refreshing. A bit like BOF in a way since both of them have 4 flower boys :p! This drama is definitely worth the fuzz :D !!!

RON-com I was initially put off by the name and the official poster of it on 'dramacrazy'. But after watching a few episodes, I absolutely love it! I've seen up to ep 13, so far SO GOOD! Really interesting plot and quite romantic ^_^.

*99 days with the star* 2011

Japanese Ron-com. I initially watched this drama for Kim Tae Hee but I later found Ok Taecyeon( 2PM) as a side bonus! Even though I needed a few eps of Japanese accents adaptation from Korean accents, I really started to like the drama, the plot and even the romance/a bit of chemistry between Kim Tae Hee and this old Jap actor :p!

I absolutely love this song, it's a shame the Jap doesn't do the Ost properly or doesn't post it on youtube.

Kdrama in 2011..

It has been ABSOLUTELY too long since I last posted on this Blog..I have been so bad and so busy with just life..Graduating and finding work and becoming an adult is hard going lol! Even so I have not been posting I have definitely not stopped watching and looking out for new dramas and movies to melt my heart and to make me ottokae beyond belief and 2011 wasn't short of any excitment...

1) Flower Boy Rameyon Shop

BaWool, Cha ChiSoo, EunBi, Choi Sasang, HyunWoo

I have LITERALLY just finished watching this and could not wait to share with the world what I thought about this. This is a new drama that has been sending the hearts of girls all of the world on fire with a great script, very well written characters and ridiculously cute ottokae moments...I don't think I've squealed so loud in ages and of course damn hot 'flower boys'

** Lee Ki Woo I love you Marry me?**

This drama is a romantic Comedy *the best kind really* that tells the story of Yang EunBi (Lee Chung Ah) who is an ex volleyball player training to become a teacher and Cha ChiSoo (Jung Il Woo) a rich high school student who strangely falls in love with Yang EunBi. Of course no romantic drama is plain sailing, this is were the other leading man Choi Sasang (Lee Ki Woo) *tan tan taaaaaaaaaan* and the other fun characters come into the picture and provide the laughs and the back story. This quickly turns into a Love Triangle with Cha ChiSoo and Choi Sasang fighting for EunBi's affection and omg one lucky girl because if I had Jung Il Woo and Lee Ki Woo looking at me like that well..I dunno I might have fainted!! I don't want to give too much of the story away but if you want something that makes you feel like a total teenage girl squealing I would def recommend this drama!! *Teaser- the scene between Choi sasang and Eunbi - the picking up scene O.M.G I was rolling in my bed giggling!!*

Unlike other dramas I surprisingly didn't cry and was kinda rooting for the other leading man because as you might have guessed already I love him! lol BUT none of the less the ending didn't lack emotion and the OST were totally addictive! I have got all the OST downloaded and uploaded onto my phone! :)

One of the best dramas of 2011! Possibility of season 2 next year YES PLEASE!!!

2) My Princess

I also recently finished watching this drama...This was my first Kim Tae Hee drama...everyone kept talking about her and about the drama I thought I should give it a go..and well shame on me for not watching it before..!! I also ottokae-ed a few times during this drama and could not stop watching!

This also is a romantic Comedy that tells the story of a normal college student Lee Seol (Kim Tae Hee) who finds out she's the only living decent of the late king..i.e the princess of korea. The president of the Daehan Group works hard to return her to the Monarchy and his Grandson Park Hae Young (Song Seung Hun) is put in charge of training the Princess and make her Monarchy worthy. The drama really kicks off when he finds himself totally attracted to Lee Seol and her cute charm but is faced with a dilemma when he realises restoring her to the Monarchy will be the reason behind him loosing his inheritance.

The chemistry between the two leads is like bursting at the seems...they are soo damn cute together its incredible! When I started watching the drama I thought oh he's okay looking and ended it it thinking wowzaaaaaaaaaa come to mama!! haha he is def swoon worthy and the storyline between them is sooo well written. The push and pull the not knowing if they will be together and confession even the kiss I was like OTTOKAE!!

Its a very heart warming story not to add Lee Ki Kwang is in it and is as cute as ever!!! *Beast fans rejoice wohoooooo* and I can see why people in Korea and so KIM TAE HEE IS AMAZIng...she is a brilliantly good actress!!!! The ost is catchy I've been listening to it all day..!! I did end up crying at certain points in the drama because you just feel so bad for her!! * it seems that's how I rate how much I've liked the drama haha*

Def a recommendation for 2011!

KDrama Update..

Very Long overdue update!!!
So many things have happened since I blogged last...too many things to mention here but I just thought I would do my K-drama update since I have been LOVING what I was watching!! I have also seen quite a few dramas but I will be talking about the ones I would really recommend and break it up into installments so its not too long...so lets get started!

1) 49 Days

This one the one I have JUST literally like JUST finished watching today..and I can honestly say....it is an absolutely BRILLIANT drama. From the Story..to the characters to the chemistry to the acting..and even the fashion in this drama...everything about it was awesome!

This is romantic fantasy drama ( my favourite kind ) that revolves around a girl called Shin Ji Jyun who is cheerful naive and with a heart of gold yet totally oblivious to the things that are going on around her. After her engagement she has a car accident that leaves her in a coma. She finds out from 'The schedular' (Gorgeous Jung il Woo) that she had actually died before her time and was given a second chance at life with a condition; she has to collect tears from 3 people who sincerely love her.

This drama leaves you wanting more with EVERY episode...it was so hard to stop watching and go to work!! lol the plot is absolutely fantastic!!!! Also I think one thing that made the drama even more heart wrenching especially towards the end is definitely the actors. They were soo commendable for their portrayal of the characters..I mean that's what you call acting....they sucked you in..and before you knew it..you are in tears (if ur anything like me :p). Lee Yo Won once again shows how versatile and brilliant her acting abilities are...she is magnificent to watch!

I think you learn quite a lot about love and friendship in this drama..plus its full of....O.o O.M.G nooowaaaayy moments which is brilliant here is nothing worse than figuring out what will happen half way through watching a drama. OST songs were brilliant too!!

I would definitely say this is one of my top 3 dramas ever!

2) You're beautiful

I watched this particular one quite a long time ago actually..I'm surprised I haven't written about it. I initially did not expect this one to be as good as it turned out to be. The main reason for watching it was that it ranked at #1 on Dramacrazy so I was like how bad can it be...and my answer was....not at all!!

Essentially a romantic comedy..Its the story of a girl training to become a nun called Mi Nyu whose twin brother Mi Nam gets surgery just before his debut in the hottest Indie band A.N.Jell and has to stay concealed. The drama follows her story as she steps in for her brother as the 4th member of A.N.Jell and everything else that comes with being in the band.This was a very enjoyable drama...I laughed ALOT and obviously due to the handsomeness of the cast (YongHwa- CNblue-, Hongkki-FT island- and Jan Geun Suk) stared alot!! Park Shin Hye really shined in this drama...she did a brilliant job and made a totally cute couple with Jan Geun Suk who as always was awesome and so funny---his expressions were priceless! lool YongHwa also did a brilliant job for his first time as an actor..Hongkki acted like a 5 year half the time but it was so cute to watch!

Bonus Picture!!

The music was very good and the main song was soooo catchy! The fashion was a bit....different..lol but I guess it was meant to fit the style of the idol group. Hey Jan Geun Suk can put anything on and look awesome! kk bias much!?! Good plot...good story...not too heart wrenching and very this century with the whole idol crazyness!

If you have time I would def recommend as one to watch if you like to have a laugh and like a little bit of romance thrown in..

London IMATS Haul

Its been ages as usual BUT I've got blogger on my phone so be expecting really weird train posting!! haha
Anyway since last time I wrote on here...were life has been pretty boring lol but I did go to Imats which was extremely exciting!

For those of you who don't know IMATs is like the international make up artist show. This year we have the Pixiwoo sisters, PurseBuzz, Enkore makeup -Koren- and Gossmakeup as guest guru speakers and a bunch of different make-up brands displaying their best....it was a really fun day!!

I was lucky enough to be accompanied by my cousin Ana, since she loves make up just as much as I do! Unfortunately we didn't take pictures when we were there because we were too busy looking around the booths! It got slightly chaotic --- we even got pushed out of the way at the Crown Brushes booth because SO many people were there...p.s their brushes are awesome!!

I did buy a few things mainly brushes and sleek make-up! I was so excited to see sleek's full range there since my local superdrug haven't actually got the new stock out yet which is weird but anyway....here are the things I got and swatches..

Sleek Makeup

Blushes -

Rose Gold - Peach blush with pink undertones and gold shimmer-
I absolutely love this blush for everyday wear! Its been raved about as a dupe for Nars Orgasm...well I don't own orgasm but I can tell you this...this colour looks good on everybody!! Its perfect to give highlight to your cheeks and adds just the right be of colour without looking like you plastered your face with makeup! It is a bit powdery but its still amazing..

Rose Gold

Pomegranate - Pink blush with almost burgundy undertones and a pinky sheen...*a lot of pinks ay*
Now this colour I was absolutely IN LOVE with the moment I saw swatches of it online and was even more in love with it when I saw it...I had to get it! Its so beautiful its soo pigmented you only have to take a tiny tiny bit on the brush and it shows up so nicely! It adds this really nice flushed look to your cheeks! Ah I love..!!

Pomegranate

Flushed - Matte Bright Pink-
Now this colour is a basic pink! I have so many blushes that are shimmery I just wanted a change and wanted something totally matte. This is so damn pigmented I had to kabuki brush my face to make it subtle! lol be careful with it...anyway its a great everyday colour if you're going for more understated lips and eyes.

Brushes

One of the reasons why I was so excited about IMATs was the brushes....no one can have enough brushes and I was in desperate need to actually buy some new brushes. They had 2 massive booths at this year's imats one for crown brushes and the other for Royal and langnickel brushes. Here are some of the brushes I picked up..

Crown Brushes

The busiest booth by far!!

Fluffy Brush similar to the mac 224

I mostly use this fluffy brush for applying and mixing in my concealer. It gives an even and light coverage and allows me to apply a good amount without it looking too cakey! its awesome for blending eye shadows and stuff..

Angled face brush

This brush I use for contouring my face. This brush if small enough to fit into the hollows of my cheeks and allows me to be precise since I have a small face!! The other picture is to actually show you how small it is compared to other face brushes..I really like this brush its dense enough to deposit colour properly and is quite soft..

Small flat top angled blending brush

I will honestly say that I bought this brush because I honestly just LOVED how it looked! haha I was like omg flat top and angled sweet! I have tried it since and its awesome to blend in the crease colour with the highlight colour..its surprisingly dense and allows the eye shadow to spread evenly..its a good purchase!

Royal & Langnickel Brushes

This booth was the first that we went to...and its awesome! I didn't even know about them to be honest but they are very very good and have a WIDE range of brushes. I only picked up 2 but wow...like they are awesome!

Tight Spot eyeliner brush

This I was sooo excited about!! I'm always on the hunt to find something to make putting eye-liner more efficient easier and the result more consistent...is that makes sense. This is very similar to all the other brands out there like I know coastal scense do one as well. This is a great brush make the application smooth and easy peasy even for those who don't have a stable hand!

Mini Majestic shader brush

This one is called shader ...but Ana and I were super excited about this one because it was sooo small and so good for those tiny spots where using a large eyeliner brush totally fail to reach like the inner angle and stuff. This allows you to be very precise with your application...its awesome! I love it..

So that's all I got really....I thought I would spend sooo much money but I ended up doing a good job and buying only what I needed...well kinda! haha

Kdrama Update!!!

Yo!!

Ow yes I have been at it again!! Me and my TV shows..we're just inseparable and let me just get this out before I go further...my conclusion is that Korean people REALLY know how to make good shows!!! I mean seriously good shows! Like tugging at every heart string, making me laugh out loud on the train on my way back home and make me cry all at the same time. The hot guys don't hurt either haha...So lets get started shall we...

1) Personal Taste/ 개인의 취향. Staring Lee Min Ho (omg he's so hot...faint! lol) and Son Ye Jin (who is equally gorgeous!).

I have recently like yesterday lol finished watching this...Okay lets start of with the story..now when I first heard the synopsis I was a bit hesitant and didn't want to watch it straight away. Well that was a dumb thing to do lol because it was FANTASTIC!! 2nd favourite of all time after BOF..(isn't it funny LMH is in both hehe). So anyway its about this Architect Jeon Jin Ho who pretends to be gay in order to mean into Park Gae In's house.

Its a story of how they fall in love and how their live unfolds and how they bring out the best in each other. (Sigh) So for those of you who are unlike myself and are not into the whole lovey dovey thing...this might not be your cup of tea but MAN did it hit the right spot with me. I mean I was awwing like crazy....and praying really really really hard to god to help me find a guy who would love me like that hahah! It was romantic and ow so funny at the same time. It was refreshing because it touched on a lot of social issues that are usually avoided like moving in together before marriage and the whole gay issue. It was done very tastefully and I loved every single minute of it! P.s the music was really good in this!

2) Mary Stayed out all Night/ 매리는 외박중. Starring Moon Geun Young and Jan Geun Suk.

So I watched this Drama a couple of weeks ago when May (My KDrama watching partner) recommended it to me. I was like well Alright..lol you don't need to convince me! haha so I started watching it not knowing anything about the synopsis or the story or anything. The story revolves around a girl called Wi Mae Ri who is being forced to marry a rich guy by her dad in order to clear his depths and the guy she truly loves Kang Moo Kyul. Its not awfully romantic and man do those 2 fight a lot. Its an edgier more real type of love story.

It was a very enjoyable show...I know I like it when I stay up until 4am watching it lol! It was good.. the story was a bit lacking and there was like a twilight situation where she found herself between 2 good guys who love her and then it turns into a quadrangle of love lol The Music was good in this...a bit repetitive at times but the lead actor sang most of the songs which I thought was pretty cool. I was a bit sceptical about their 'cool' or 'edgy' clothing tho..but who cares the guy wearing them was pretty cute! hehe

I've been watching the rest of my shows that consist of Glee, 90210, TVD, Nikita and the rest of it all lol..so that's on going. The new season of Greek came out too so I'm waiting to watch that! I've also accidentally watched an episode of life unexpected and now I'm intrigued...is it a good idea to take on another one? Maybe I can catch up while I wait for the other shows to come back from winter break or whatever its called...? lol << can u see how I'm talking myself into it?

P.S - so I'm knew at all the Kpop stuff so don't know much but I think I might be slightly obsessed with B2ST/Beast...is it wrong considering I'm older than old of them?? lol Their music is really good tho! Doesn't hurt that they're cute too :P

New start to life...Love it and yourself!

Hey!

So the start of the New Year has been a bit of a rocky one for a lot of people. The world seems to be in chaos what with all the shooting happening in North of America, the floods in Australia...and personally there seems to be a lot of people around me leaving our world.

The weird thing was even though I didn't know them that well, their departure as well as the manner of their departure really got to me. I'm not a psychologist and have never been in a position to take my own life so I'm not going to sit here and preach about it. All I wanted to say is that they were amazing people in their own right. I can't imagine what must have been going on in their heads of their hearts for them to take such a big decision.

The world around us is so full of hatred and anger and disappointment, so many bad feelings that could make even the strongest of us crumble and fall. So I have decided since it’s the New Year I will TRY my hardest to make everyone in my life happy. Do whatever I can do to try and help who ever needs help and bring a smile to their faces. I'm not saying my life is perfect but I feel that I have enough happiness to share around with everyone. Share the love as they say!

However, before 'sharing the love' I think it is even more important for every individual to love THEMSELVES before expecting other people to love them. Everyone has imperfections...no1 is perfect but it is important for every person to look in the mirror and remember that something about you being here is special. You have a purpose in life...you have not been put on earth for no reason. To you, you might not be important or feel worthless/incompetent whatever it is that brings you down... but you never know to someone else you might someday mean the world, you might be the catalyst to their change as well as yours. So never underestimate yourself, your beauty, your strength, you power and especially the power of your love!!

Make sure you try and smile every day, look in the mirror and appreciate yourself. Appreciate the life you've been given no matter what situation you're in. Be thankful to god and know that someone is always watching over you even if you're the lone sole on top of a mountain.

Happy New Year everybody!!

I know its like 2 days late and all but hey better late than never I guess! Its already almost the 3rd of Jan...seriously the days are going by too quick already!! hehe ^^

So once again I have been completely MIA and lost track of how long I haven't posted any updates on my blog! So lets quickly recap I guess ay...first of all ummmm I turned 22 years old eekk! I starting to feel it man! I went out to a really nice Morocco-ney restaurant in London with a bunch of my favourite people and then had ice creaaaaam in Hagen Daaz *best ice cream ever* in Leicester square! It was FREEZING COLD as it should be I guess lol it was the end of November!

We also went to Go-Ape for Madhu's bday (the girl in white ^) which is like this outdoor group activity where you basically swing through trees - wearing a harness and stuff of course. It was soooo MUCH FUN even though it was like freezing and we were all shattered bruised and battered afterwards, we couldn't have enjoyed ourselves more!! It was terrifying at some points I had to breath in and out, calm myself down and just go for it! At the same time it was such a fun team building activity...and it definitely brought out the inner monkey in some of us hehe!

After all that fun it was time for the Islamic New Year and so the start of the Holy Month of Muharam. The death anniversary of the Holy prophet's Grandson Imam Hussain (A.s) coincides on the 10th of this month, making this month especially important in our calendars. We usually spend most of this month and especially the first 10 days in mourning. -- Maybe i'll write a separate blog post on this -- it'll help explain what the whole event was about and how we commemorate his death each year.

Well now its the NEW YEAR yay!! 2010 was a very exciting year! A lot of things happened this year.. an even though it might not have ended in the best way possible... it is now time to concentrate on the future. Lets hope 2011 is the best year in our lives so far! Don't be afraid to go after what you want...dream big and never give up! Lets build a new unforgettable chapter in our lives and may you all stay happy and healthy!

One of the many new year's resolutions I've made is to keep this as updated as I can! lol which I will try my bestest best to do...and also to start off my own makeup youtube channel which I'm like so scared about...but I've been wanting to forever...Ill keep you posted on that one!!

What I’ve been watching lately!

So lately I’ve been doing a lot of...let’s call it relaxing...lol! I’ve been catching up on sleep and since I’m still ill...I’ve been trying to recover. To keep me entertained I’ve been trying to fit in as much tv as I can before the ‘busy’ period kicks in! So here are some of the things I’ve watched so far...

So since I was going through my Korean obsession I decided to watch this because it has Kim Hyun Joong in it...lol and because it got 5 stars on mysoju! This drama series is based off a Japanese comic and has been very popular...so I was like what the heck let’s do it!

It’s a cute story of how this girl had a crush on this ‘perfect’ absolutely horrible cold totally hot guy in high school...she followed him around everything (which I thought was a bit stalker-ish....I don’t remember high school being like that but hey maybe it’s just me lool)...As the story goes on you are able to see past the coldness he portrays ( and let me tell u there is a lot of mean-ness and cold-ness portrayed) and see traces of some of his true feelings for the girl. A lot of the time though I was left thinking o.m.g how mean can a guy get SLAP HIM! Lol but maybe again that’s just me and I wouldn’t ever stand for a guy being so obnoxious to me .......I think it would have been good to know a bit more of what he was thinking during the whole process...

Anyway if you’re a total sucker for romantic comedies because I could not stop Awwwing in various bits of the series like out loud awwing..! Some bits were just way too cute! The end was even sweeter! aw! lool its definitely something every girl interested in Korean dramas should watch...!

Overall, its funnny, good cast, VERY entertaining, and does tick a lot of teenage dream boxes...For a total of 16 episodes it was good!

It gets a 4.5/5 from me!

Inception

Yes yes I have FINALLY been able to watch that...I know what you’re thinking...took me long enough but hey I was busy when it came out in the cinemas!

Lemme just said this OMG THAT WAS SO FREAKING GOOD! I mean wow...I was hooked straight away! To be fair I had to pay attention to everything to be able to understand it but wow it blew me away... the effects, the acting, the story...it was all so damn good! It got a lil confusing when they were talking about all the different layers but who cares I was just memorized about all the stuff they were talking about....Can you imagine if inception was real...or just being able to go into someone else’s dream...to be able to build you own dream? C'mon that too good! I was afraid to dream that night! Lool All the stuff with his wife was soo messed up as well like wow...it was good!! Being back in reality and thinking you're still stuck in the dream world....how messed up is that!

*SPOILER ALERT*--> as in don't read past this if you haven't watch the film yet...

The ending even through was frustrating was GENIUS!!! Like the fact we don’t know if he’s still in dream land (which I think he is) or he’s in reality is just too awesome!

IF you haven’t seen it yet DO SO PLEASE because it’s awesome 5/5!

Social Network

Now this movie was raved about so much! Apparently it had Oscar buzz all around it...I was finally able to sit down with my cup of coco and actually watch this...and I can honestly say...I was slightly disappointed.

Not that it wasn’t a great film because it was...I mean I did NOT know all that about Facebook...I mean half way through the film I kept thinking...wooow I actually have facebook...like me I have facebook...! lool it’s so easy to take technology for granted these days...and the phrase ‘facebook me’ I actually use that more than I use any other phrase since I’m a proud fb addict!

Even though it was so interesting and intriguing to find out how this social networking site that started off from a Kirkland house dorm room has taken the world by storm ...I didn’t feel like it was Oscar worthy..I mean the blind side...now THAT was Oscar worthy it was such a good film..Full of emotions and ordeals and it was just SO good (watch it if you haven’t I cried my eyes out at the end lol) ...the acting in this was good...I mean Jesse Eisenberg’s acting was really good and so was Andrew Garfield’s (who is totally cute btw)....but Justin Timberlake don’t get me wrong its Justin ‘rock ya body’ Timberlake..lol but Oscar worth acting? I don’t think so..? 1 he wasn’t in it for long enough to actually deserve and Oscar and 2...yes it was a good performance ...he is undeniably talented...but it was a little one dimensional if I dare say...or maybe that was his way of portraying Sean Parker...I dunno I just didn’t think he was in it for long enough to deserve one..

Overall, it was a good story, it was interesting and kept you wanting to know more...it does make you realise how important social networking is though...!

I’ll give it a 3.5/5.

I’ve also been watching my regular tv shows The Vampire Diaries, Nikita and Gleeee...because life would be so boring without them! If you haven’t checked them out do because they get better and better as the seasons go along!! Nikita is relatively new but its so kick ass!!!

I think that is enough of a review so far..Hopefully I’ll be going to watch due date soon enough and I’ll let you know how it is...I loved the hangover let’s hope this lives up to it...!

Life Update!

I've been away for too long once again...its amazing days pass by so quickly and before you realise it..a month's come and gone..and so much has happened this month...

Firstly I've been down with this terrible cold for the best part of 2 weeks now and I can't seem to shake it off its getting annoying now...even though I'm kind of enjoying the husky voice since I'm known as squeaky! lool!! Its different..I do miss my squeaky-ness though like the other day I finally got my boots Card and I was so excited but my voice was like non-existent so I sounded hyper-sonic! lol

Anywaaaaaaaay I've been trying to make myself useful since I'm a graduate and there are hardly any jobs going SO I've literally been trying to experience as much as I can to see where I fit in and what my niche is..and I'm liking where its going...

I've got 2 teaching jobs at my university, yes the same one I graduated from but this time I walk in with a staff badge instead of a student badge so weird but I Lurv it! I still get to see all my medic friends and the 3rd year physios woop! aw i do feel old! and even though the days are variable its keeping me busy and I've realised its helped me a lot with my anatomy and all which is all good! Its given me more confidence with presentation as well...valuable transferable skills...Check! I've also got as a physio with a sports team which I am EXTREMELY excited about since this is exactly what I wanted to be experiencing! I'll keep you posted on how it goes...I was terrified on my first day but it wasn't too bad! =) I know more than I thought..go me!

However, the days where I have nothing to do I've literally been just resting to recover from this cold, playing around with my makeup, Online shopping, and just youtubing...*sounds boring but slow pace is what I need* and ow lets not forget watching like a billion shows! I think ill post reviews of all that I've seen so far in the next post..!!

Other than that, everyone's been really busy lately, with family stuff, uni stuff, work stuff and I haven't been able to actually meet my girls for a while so I'm suffering from core 4 withdrawal symptoms! Next week if the week though so its coooool!!!

Smiles.....*cheesy Alert*

So you ask what is the deal with smiles...they can brighten up your day, they can start a whole new chapter, they are great ice breakers...and from someone you love can shatter the earth and make your heart melt...

As you can tell I have a slight weakness for smiles..!! So my inspiration for this piece came after watching the accidental husband starring Uma Thurman and Jerry Dean Morgan...good film totally predictable...I did aww which means it was good...but it was soo plain..and easy watch! ANYWAY...the point is...Jerry Dean is the point! The guy has a KILLER smile..like the way he looks at Uma or did look at Izzy in Grey's anatomy...ah that look..and the smile...Ah! Totally gets me! His smiles reminds me of what a smile really should be like...warm and safe and loving...lets not forget about Ian Somerhalder, Robert Pattinson and Chace Crawford haha..the list can go on to be fair..

A smile that will make me blush...a smile that makes me feel safe...a smile that will make my troubles disappear...a smile that would make my heart flutter and beat faster and make me slightly breathless....you must be thinking ur expecting a guy to do that with a smile?! Goood luck finding that sister! lol I do understand I sound stupid....and like a total hopeless romantic but what can you do...

Now all this might seem like it exists in fairy tale land..but I disagree...How you might ask? Well I would say..the smile my mum gives me when I'm in tears and can't stop sobbing..that gives me warmth..makes me feel like I'm being looked after..makes me feel happy even thought my heart feels heavy...

Another example?...the smile I got from my little 2 year old cousin when I went back to visit after a year..she gave me her almighty grin and ran into my arms and whispered 'I love you'...now that smile truly made me feel loved I actually teared up!

And if you're really noisy like I am and totally bored on the train..just take a minute and see how some couple look at each other...the loving smile a guy might give to his gf...the I am so happy I am spending this minute with you right here..*well not on the train..but like in her company lol*...those little smiles can do soo much!! they mean so much at the time..they're such precious jewels..

So next time you're on the train...and you see someone looking upset or down...just smile at them..you never know if who's day you make with your smile...or who could fall in love with you because of your smile ;)

It doesn't take long..and besides it takes less muscles to smile than it takes to frown..so go on try it..brighten someone's day!

So I've been feeling a bit under the weather and totally un-inspired that's the reason why I haven't posted anything in a long time! I just didn't know what to write about...what to focus on...how to get your attention and inspire you...

Last week I was talking with one of my childhood friends Salma...(I've known her since like primary school that's how long I've known her!) and during conversation I agreed to do a 'guest blogger' fashion piece on her blog..It was so exciting! Be who you want to be!

If you speak ever to anybody who’s either in high school or has been through the whole high school experience....they’ll all tell you how it’s not as easy and fun as it looks...to some they might be the best days of your life! But to others it’s a time not to remember!

For those who were lucky enough to be totally cool and have not experienced much of what I’m talking about..I’m so happy and thankful for you! but unfortunately in today’s society this doesn’t apply to high school anymore this behaviour is not only being practised in school around children anymore...adults..Knowledgeable adults in our day to day life still act in this manner. Whether it’s at work or social gatherings, families where ever it may be...behaviour like this shouldn’t be tolerated.

There’s a great Anti Bullying PSA campaign that was launched in America this week featuring a lot of well known faces like Tim Gunn, Iain Somerhalder, Anne Hathaway.. etc talking about standing up to bullying...and never giving up. It’s a great motion to support and get behind.

Personally, I’ve been lucky enough not to come across major bullying in my high school years I was always the kid who got along with everybody and was nice to everybody....or so I thought! I didn’t experience the nasty bullying some kids these days go through but there certainly were a lot of things that could have made me less miserable in high school. Peer pressure, the pressure to conform and be just like your friends to fit in...to talk, act, dress in a certain way so that you don’t stand out..the back stabbing the bitching the jealousy...ahh all that drama!!

Only after I moved away and came to the UK that I felt that I could be completely myself...to talk like myself to act like myself because no-one knew me and it was my opportunity to be the person I wanted to be...

I feel going through what I did in high school even though was stressful...Definitely!! But at the same time it has helped me be the person I am today. I’m no longer afraid to voice my opinion, I can dress the way I want...talk to whoever I want ...be completely and totally who I want to be and if people don’t like it....well they’ll just have to deal with it. Through this I have made amazing friends, friends I can be so completely and totally myself and it makes me thankful to god that he’s allowed me to share my life with such people...overall I did have a great high school experience I wouldn’t change it because I do have great memories..But most of all I don’t think I regret any of it...

I think what I’m trying to say from all my rambles is...don’t let anybody tell you you’re not good enough...you’re not pretty enough...you’ll never be as happy or successful as someone else. You have to live YOUR life..you have to make your life a life you’ll be proud of when you look back at it..Build you happy memories share them with those people who make you feel alive...wear your heart on your sleeves and most of all be strong...because those people who put you down now..Might be doing it because they’re missing something in their own lives...And the only way to get power back is to put you down...so don’t let them get to you!!

Don’t be afraid to speak out because remember everything you’re going through today will make you so much stronger ....I always remember one thing Kandee Johnson said on her youtube channel and it literally struck home...the more people break you down..The more they make your heart shatter into a million pieces...the louder/brighter you’ll shine! Because a million shattered pieces reflect even more light to even more dimensions and places!

So never give up! Smile and let the world smile with you!!

You are all beautiful in your own special way...and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise!!

Ever thought about how we speak of ourselves ladies.. i dunno about you gals but i’ve always heard us talk like we are the prey.

These are just some, im sure there’s plenty more. But do you see the pattern. I guess its nature, men are naturally the hunters, they pursue women and prey on us until we succumb to their powers. The thing is we love to be preyed upon; we taunt them with looks and our bodies. We secretly pretend that they don’t matter to us but we all know everything that we do is DIRECTLY related to them.

Dont you just love it when the guy chases you? There’s some sort of a rush about it, the feeling of being bait to a man is more alluring to us than ..i dare say CHOCOLATE! Yes i said it, god forgive me..

Despite this feeling, we are in their world. We wait for them. We act as prey for them. Think about it, if a guy doesn’t give you attention you will try and get his attention but if he doesn’t take the ‘bait’, well you move on. It’s their decision.

It truly is a Man’s world despite how far women have come since the caveMAN years we will never be the natural hunter. There are exceptions, there always are but for the majority of us, i don’t think we’ll ever be predators. However once we’ve got them bound to us legally, i think the true predator in us unleashes MUAHAHA!

The search for ‘the one’ waste of time or wait worthy?!

So this is what I wrote a couple of days ago when I was really feeling frustrated and annoyed at everything going on in my life!

People usually say you’ll find your ‘one’ one day all you have to do is wait.....

I’m sure as any girl would tell you, it’s usually effortlessly easy to sit there and think of all the qualities this ‘one’ will have and what he might look like what he is going to treat you like...and all those films like the notebook don’t really help! Lol you end up lying on your bed wishing upon stars to someday find this person...

What happens when you’re ready to find that person? When you’re thinking I’m ready to move onto the next chapter of my life with someone? So you open your heart and allow these people to enter your lives in order to find out if they really are your true match...

But what happens when you have met so many people and not one of them seems appropriate, what happens when all the prospects around you are so bleak that you’re thinking...when is my day going to come? I think my biggest fear by far would be to give my heart away to someone who wouldn’t take care of it and make it happy the way I always imagined...to settle for somebody because I couldn’t find my one..

A depressing thought I agree but it was becoming more n more of an issue in our lives...no1 around me seems to be finding anyone appropriate...our standards too high? Too picky? I don’t think so...so what if I would like him a certain way...so what if we try and match out dreams to a certain degree...doesn’t everybody?? But I was really starting to question my standards like seriously..

Going away for a while and taking myself out of this situation brought clarity to me that was really refreshing! I came back with a total positive attitude...I came back thinking yes he must exist...someone who will make my heart flutter and my palms sweaty and make me stutter and blush..he must exist..So what if I have to wait..So wait if I have to be patient *I’m not known for my patience..so it’s hard lol* but all this will make him even more special to me...it will allow me to treasure him more when I do finally find him?! I’m not saying I’ve been dreaming of Iain somerhalder and I’m holding out until I’m with someone like him..*haha..but seriously he is hot lol* not by any means..but someone that makes me happy someone that would make me glow from the inside..bring out that secret inner smile...

I am not giving my heart away to someone who will not take care of it! I will hold out and gift it to someone worthy! I Don’t think any of us are picky I just think our hearts know better when someone comes along...

Girls should stand up for what they want and what makes them happy no matter how hard to road my seem!

There’s this little thing called LOVE..

It’s been going on in my head for a few years now, ‘What is this love?’ I have to know what this feels like. Whats the big deal, i mean its just a four lettered word, why is there such a weight put on it?

I’ll tell you why because its the most deepest word out there, it has the power to stop people from their normal routines, it has the desire to make one feel elated, it possesses the power to pull you towards someone like no other force. Not that i know how that feels.. i mean ive learned all this from watching movies. Big whoop!

The definition of love for me is non existant, i don’t know what it means, what it feels like and im afraid i won’t know when its my turn. I mean i thought i was ‘falling’ in love with someone waaaaay back when i was a kid but c’mon who can take a child’s feelings seriously. I blame that on the hormones. But if someone’s never known what love is then how is one meant to identify it? What if tomorrow i meet someone and it becomes serious how the hell am i supposed to really know if its TRUE love?

I think they should invent something that could identify this. Some sort of a barcode gun that when you point it at the persons heart it will scan it and reveal their feelings to you.. invasion of privacy i hear you say but dammit it would solve my problem!

But before all that can begin..we need to find a true match. What a depressing thought!

Korean Dramas...Yes I love them!

Now you might be thinking...Korean dramas? What? How? Do you even understand them?

Unfortunately the answer to that is no I don't but thankfully there are amazing people out there who subtitle everything into English to make it easier for people like mee!! So I first got into them in High school with my friends May who is Burmese and Garbo who is Chinese...how neither one of them is korean lol but we still sat there and watched all these shows in subtitle..the first one we watched together was My girl which was Hilarious and ow soo cute!!

Now again you're thinking but WHAT? there are shows like Glee, Vampire Diaries etc etc that you could be watching..and I DO! believe me I love those shows too but these dramas have a certain charm about them...I can't seem to stop watching when I start...! They are just so captivating, the stories they tell are so touching *the ones I watched at least*, they tug at every heart string you got *even tho i kno this is scientifically incorrect* and make you feel like you can't stop crying and smiling at the same time..

Plus, even though I am Asian there is a big culture difference and its just soo interesting to watch the differences in the way they interact and stuff...ow and THEIR FASHION omg I love their fashion sense I always have and always will...I love how coool and modern they look when they wear their clothes and only they can pull it off to be honest..

So anyway the one I certainly just finished was called 'Boys over Flowers' which is a south Korean Drama based off a Japanese comic I THINK..I'm not too sure...anywho I really really recommend it if you're a total sucker for love stories..I mean I was proper addicted to this.. every time I was on my laptop its like I couldn't help but watch a bit of it..its about this girl Gneum Jan Di and the story of how she got into this rich kid school and what happens when she meets this group the F4 and stuff....there's a great love triangle!! I really don't wanna spoil it..so I won't say much but o.m.g I LOVED IT!

Now after watching the show it is VERY HARD not to fall in love with the characters because how well they are portrayed...even though each one of them appears all happy and content they all have their own story and their own struggles and the actors do a fantastic job at peeling back all the different layers these characters have to reveal their different dimensions..I was in a totally dreamy lovey mood at the end...I keep sighing every 2 mins!

Anywaaaaaaaaaay me being the geek I am...I kinda youtubed everything and omg half of them are like pop stars in korea...especially the other lead actor..Kim Hyun Joong is like the leader of a boy band called SS501..who btw have quite good songs *yes i dont understand them but those have subtitles too n the beat is good so yeah lol* n OMG he can dance I was like woow *i sound 16*

Drop Dead Awesome-ness

Yo!!

So about a year ago through my love and addiction of US sitcoms, I came across this show called 'Drop Dead Diva'. Now I thought ow what a cheesy name saw the advert and thought hmmm interesting..this hasn't been done before..well that I know of or seen atleast...

So the show is about this hot model called Deb who gets into a car accident...goes to the 'waiting room' which is before heaven and hell and presses the 'return' button that was on her angel's desk. Now something goes wrong and her soul comes back to earth but get this..the twist is...it enters the body of a how would you say this.. voluptuous super busy lawyer called Jane.

Now you can understand the difficulties that might arise with being in a totally different body but she slowly starts to appreciate her life the way it is and even starts dating. However through the series she still holds onto the hope of one day telling grayson *Deb's ow so cute bf* that she is in fact Deb and not plain Jane.

ANYWAY...I won't spoil it u gotta watch it...I finally watched season 2 finale last night and OMG like seriously it was good! So season 1 was funny, exciting full of singing and dancing because she was getting to know her self and finished off with a big cliffhanger. This season was a bit more dramatic and serious compared to the previous season BUT fear not because its still full of cute *aww* moments. You can see the relationship between grayson and Jane develop further AND stacey & Fred still there so its all good!! Stacey is Deb/Jane's bff and is sooo damn funny because of her blondness..! i love her! There are even a few musical numbers which are always fun!

BUT *SPOILER ALERT--->don't read further if you actually wanna watch the show* omg this season's cliffhanger!!!!!!! I was like NOOOOOOOOOOO at the end it was like dudes please don't KILL HIM! Especially right at the end when he goes Deb?? and its like ow god no no does this means he's really dead???

Anyway I think I spoke too much..ahh okay so I love the show can't wait for it to come back on..in june 2011 *gasp june 2011 I know how am I meant to wait for that long*

Fraaaaaaaaaaaaance!!!!

Bonjourrrr!!!!

So I've been hiatus-ing again this time we were whisked off to France by my lovely dad!! We went to visit some family friends in Marseilles..and it was SUCH A GOOD TRIP!
I had never met the family before ..they had spent a summer in Dubai with my dad and brother while mum & I were stuck in London around 2 years ago..so it was all HIII and owww this is your daughter ahh! lol

We were there for 5 days and it was soo good! I mean it wasn't what I expected France to be like to be honest because it was full of Arabs (Hi5) so it felt a bit like home and it was sooo relaxing and since Marseilles is an old city the road were big enough to fit 1 car! I tell you those people have guts to drive on those roads they were soooo steep and so narrow and they were 2 way!!! it was like ow god don't die don't die! lol!

Everyone was extremely friendly and welcoming, we were taken to all these scenic spots that took my breath away! They were soo peaceful and soo beautiful, I can honestly say that we met some amazing people who welcomed us so completely into their lives and showed us around..I feel so privileged to have spent 5 wonderful days with such generous people. I'm hoping we can show them the same generosity and kindness they showed us when they come to visit at the end of the month *yay excited*...well okay only Omar and tata but still..

So I think all of us have come back with the determination of learning a bit more French before out next visit to France...however that might not be possible since I'm going to Paris for the day for my friend's b-day this week..Hollllaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!! lol

Yoo-ness!!!

Soo I have been gone for what seems like forever since my very first post..which isn't very good BUT I have a very good excuse. As you know...*or maybe don't* it has beeeen the month of Ramadhan which is basically this month where all the muslim worth fast from sunrise to sunset..well in England it has been like a 17 Hr fast which i thought was gonna be HORRENDOUS but surprisingly hasn't been so bad!

Anyway we we usually go to mosque and its a very spiritually uplifting month so have been super busy with that and family get together to that's my excuse for neglecting the blog...but now I'm back! woop!

Right so before the month started we actually did a lot of things that I kept thinking oo I should post that..and that..and that..so it begins now! lol

A day before Ramadhan started my lovely cousin Abrar (Absi) and my friend Zahra K went on a cupcake expedition around london. I had seen this video on youtube about these 2 girls doing it around their home town and got encouraged so this was our adventure around london....That aim was to buy 2 cupcakes from each shop their most popular and one we liked the look off and then grade them against how yum they were and how soft and moist they were...

This is the first shop we went to, I loved the look of this shop is all pink and colourful and the decore inside was adorable!! So this place sold cupcakes * that were more muffins than cupcakes*, fudge cakes and lots n lots of sweets...

2nd place we went to was.....Ella's this place is solely for cupcakes! its awesome...it was very hard to choose only 2...looks very fancy doesn't it!

3rd place we went to wassssssssss...*drum roll* Primrose Bakery who again specialise in cakes and cupcakes..they make cupcake tier wedding cakes and alll...they even have their own primrose bakery recipe book how cool..

The 4th place we went to was........Hummingbird Bakery! Now this one is really fancy and is very well known...my cousin who recently got married got her wedding cake from there and it was DIVINE!!

They are very well known for their cupcakes especially their red velvet one *DROOOOOL*...they also have their own recipe book they're THAT good lol...

Finally the lassssssst place we went to was whole sale foods...it wasn't for the cupcakes really but we found some anyway! hehe so they had these beautiful cupcakes and some vegan ones too which were interesting...all organic! woop! I picked just 1 up from there...it was the most beautiful one and the rose was actual cream!!!!

The verdict:

Hummingbird Bakery won by a mile!! Their cupcakes were the best priced for the quality you got...they were soft, moist and the icing was amazing...my favourite the red velvet cake came out on top as rated by all 3 of us..I mean its was just delish! Close second came the double chocolate cupcake from candy cakes soooooo good!...the rest were okay average for the taste and price.....

So there was one of our adventures...hope you get to go out and try these yourself!!

Hellooowww!!!

So as this is my very first post I'll just start by telling you a little bit about myself!!
So my name is Minaz and I'm a 21 year old londoner who has just recently graduated and is now an official Physiotherapist (i.e. Physical Therapist). I am obssessed with everything make-up, vampire diaries/twilight, shopping and shoe related!! I am also a massive football fan so watch it religiously!

Here I'll be sharing everything from make-up stuff to day-to-day to sharing new/old experiences I might have..basically I'll just share with the world as much as I can.. =)
