Here is my take on a new pattern by the very talented Sandy Hunter.
Sandy explains the pattern here.

Inspired by a tea towel

noreply@blogger.com (Lyndel) — Mon, 21 Oct 2013 09:11:00 +0000

Last month we had a lovely romantic weekend away at the gorgeous Karingal at Cygnet. While there my attention was attracted by a tea towel with this pattern:

It was quickly deconstructed and is fun to draw. I’ve called it Crosses - not a very exotic name I admit – because it is really just a combination of addition and multiplication signs.

New Tangle - Castle

noreply@blogger.com (Lyndel) — Tue, 03 Sep 2013 01:12:00 +0000

Inspired by this tile I saw while seeking bathroom inspiration, a new tangle pattern was born.

Finn's suggested name is Castle. Mark also suggested Hogwarts because it reminded him of the moving staircases in the Harry Potter movies.

Awesome

Tangles–Notebook Two

noreply@blogger.com (Lyndel) — Mon, 25 Mar 2013 11:06:00 +0000

I really should date my tangles! I think this was from June and July 2012 – certainly around the time I first drew Knyt.

Tangling–Notebook One

noreply@blogger.com (Lyndel) — Mon, 25 Mar 2013 02:18:00 +0000

I haven’t posted any tangles for a while and I have been filling up notebooks with them. I started the first notebook halfway
through because I couldn’t face that scary first blank page, So some are from last winter and some from this summer.

Knytting at a whole new level

Very talented Australian artist Helen Williams has taken my knyt pattern and raised it to amazing heights! Check it out on her blog

and while you are there have a look at all her amazing work.

My first new tangle: Knyt

noreply@blogger.com (Lyndel) — Sun, 08 Jul 2012 06:10:00 +0000

I was looking at the texture of a scarf Mum gave me (the green one, Mum) and got inspired to try to draw it. I was so excited when it all came together very quickly and KNYT was born!

Update: Knyt has been published on tanglepatterns.com - so exciting.

East Coast inspiration

noreply@blogger.com (Lyndel) — Sun, 08 Jul 2012 06:04:00 +0000

We went to the Bay of Fires for a long weekend break in June. The weather wasn’t great but we had a lovely campsite and managed a couple of campfires and lots of relaxing.
I was inspired by the shapes and textures to do lots of drawing.

Zentangle Obsession

noreply@blogger.com (Lyndel) — Sun, 08 Jul 2012 05:55:00 +0000

Some time ago Mum gave me a DVD by Jane Monk on Zentangle and quilting. When I finally got around to watching it in April I was instantly hooked and many waking hours since have been spent drawing tangles. It is sooo much fun and really relaxing. I am truly obsessed - my scrapbooking is suffering. Here are a few of my efforts so far.

Readings

noreply@blogger.com (Lyndel) — Sat, 26 May 2012 09:41:00 +0000

Template: Fiddle-dee-dee Designs – Fuss Free Daily Goodness (The Digi Files 36); Green Paper (Fern) and daisies: Lauren Reid – Call Me (TDF 36).
Finn was chosen to do three readings during the blessing of the new buildings at Huntingfield Campus. I joined the throng of VIPs and invited guests to listen to him. It was a long and involved ceremony and when it came time for him to go to the podium to speak he did so clearly, purposefully and beautifully. I was one very proud Mum.

Memory Quilt

I couldn't bring myself to get rid of some of my/our favourite t-shirts and when I did a sort through to make room for some new arrivals after Christmas I suddenly found I had 28 to work with. I ironed on lightweight interfacing and cut out 30cm squares, pieced them together and sewed them onto an old doona cover. Yes, it's technically a quilt cover, rather than a quilt - that was more within my skillset and probably more practical for frequent washing for my boy. I am really, really pleased with how it turned out.

Last month I happened upon this blog - about a family that has had so much to bear - and saw this beautiful quilt made with love (and t-shirts) for them. I hope it brings them comfort for many years to come.

After a week at Mt Macedon studying exercise management back in 2006 (the longest I've ever been away from Finn) I came back to a small domestic drama. My head was still in the exercise management space and I sat down and wrote the story up as an after action review. When I found the AAR recently I knew it was time to put the story into a layout.
