This is Diljit Dosanjh, who has taken back his controvercial song 'Tu Haley Pandran Salaan To Ghat Sohniye' and had requested his fans to stop promoting it. Few days ago he has posted a request on his Facebook fan page.

Hey guys, I have officially cancelled '15 saal' song. But some how this song came on net without my knowledge. I don't know where it has leaked from? Whether from audio studio or video editing. Please do not share this song with each other, it's my request and we r trying to remove it. I'm tired of what has already happened. I want to live my life peacefully. This song became popular in days not because of its melody or beats, but because of community’s anger against its lyrics. According to the sources when the heat of this anger reached to singer, he decided to change the lyrics immediately. Soon the song was replaced with a changed version of lyrics on various channels. According to the new lyrics of this song, singer is ‘praising’ the girl not by naming her community but attributing her as ‘laal Pari’ (liquor). Now, perhaps, no community will be having any objection about this. By taking this wise and commendable decision on right time, singer has curtailed a big controversy.

It is right to mention here that from last few weeks Punjabi singers are facing a row of public agitation. People have started raising voice against the usage of intolerable vocabulary in the lyrics of Punjabi songs. Few days back, a women group staged a dharna in front of Diljit’s house and then the news of public interest litigation filed against the song ‘gaddi morange’ from Jimmy Shergill’s Punjabi movie Dharti came in to the headlines. The agitated behaviour of a particular community against Roshan Prince’s song shows that the silent restlessness is now uprising between the common listeners and it is ready to come out as a revolutionary uproar. Legal Notice against Song Gaddi Morange from Punjabi Movie Dharti

Many times you must have challenged the traffic rules by crossing red lights while song played in your car. Now the celebrities connected to this song is facing a legal notice served by high court. Kamaljit Soi, vice-chairman of Punjab Road Safety council has filed public interest litigation (PIL) against the celebrities related to this popular song. Next hearing of the case will be in the first week of January. Bollywood actor Jimmy Shergill is the producer and lead actor of the movie Dharti with Ranvijay, Surveen Chawla, Binnu Dhillon, Rahul Dev, Prem Chopra, Jaspal Bhatti in supporting cast. Song gaddi morange is sung by Mika.

In the coming year Punjabi music producers may face a stringent Public agitation for their choice of nonsense kind of lyrics. According to social analysts these lyrics are not only promoting vulgarity, violence, alcoholism and defaming the real image of women and Punjabis as whole but also inspiring youngsters to violate traffic rules.

Culminating days of 2011 are turning tough for few celebrities. In the beginning of this week women started protest against those singers who are using intolerable words in their songs against the sanctity of women. Now PIL against gaddi morange song is another blow for Punjabi music producers.

Soi says, he requested deputy commissioners to stop that song, and then he approached to Ambika Soni, the central minister of information and broadcasting department, but all efforts went in vain. Finally he filed a PIL against the song.

Soi told media persons that he has recently attended a seminar at Cambodia where a person during his presentation quoted this song from movie Dharti. He expressed his astonishment that how these kinds of songs are given approvals for the broadcasting. According to Soi, no censorship policy in India for audio broadcasting is the reason behind this trend. I have challenged this song because whatever the harm it has done can be stopped in future. More than 1.40 lacs people loose their life in accidents in India and Punjab is ranked second in the list of road accident deaths, Soi adds.

Diljit is number one in lending his voice to vulgar lyrics. Under the banner of ‘Istri Jagriti Manch’ a movement was started today with the launch of protest outside the ‘Panga’ boy Diljit’s house at Ludhiana (Punjab).

Withstanding the extreme cold conditions, a large crowd of women gathered outside the house of Diljit. The leader of ‘Istri Jagriti Manch’, Gurbaksh Kaur Sangha declared, “It is out of greed for fame and money that the singers have brought down the standards of Punjabi songs to an all-time low.” She also added that women are only looked upon as mere “show-pieces”. And it is because of this approach that crime against women is increasing day by day.

One of the members of the Manch, Amandeep Kaur said that Diljit Dosanjh had been placed on top of the list for singing substandard songs, whereas Geeta Jaildar and Gippy Grewal were ranked second and third, respectively.

“Our aim of organising this protest is to convey a message to the entertainment industry that they cannot tolerate such indecent comments in the name of entertainment. We are totally against women being portrayed in a bad light and have decided to raise our voice against each and every singer, who indulges in this practice for popularity,” added Gurbax Kaur.

The Manch had carried out a survey in villages of Patiala, Jalandhar, Sangrur, Barnala and Nawanshahr districts of the State and prepared a list of singers who were allegedly using indecent language and remarks against women in their songs.

In the survey, Diljit Dosanjh had been placed on top of the list for singing substandard songs, whereas Geeta Jaildar and Gippy Grewal were ranked second and third, respectively.

Diljit’s cousin was present when the crowd gathered outside his house. In a bid to soothe the hurt nerves and to keep things under control, Diljit’s brother said that if the songs sung by Diljit have hurt the sentiments of a particular community, he ought to be punished for that. He also assured the protestors that as soon as Diljit comes back after finishing the shoot, he will contact the ‘Istri Jagriti Manch’ and whatever decision is agreed upon will be made public through the press. It was after this assurance that the protestors agreed to suspend their protest outside Diljit’s residence but they also issued a warning that if Diljit does not contact them by 12 January, a series of protests would be again started.

Very soon we'll have another Maan singer turned into a film actor. And yes, it will be none other than the younger brother of the already established Maan in Punjabi film industry; Harbhajan Maan's younger brother Gursewak Maan. According to sources, the shooting of the movie has been completed and the post-production process has already begun. The movie has been produced and directed by Jas Cheema, who has already into his pocket projects like Chan Pardesi, Waaris, Rustam-E-Hind and many other Punjabi movies. He is the first National Award Winner from Punjabi film industry.

Gursewak Maan will be seen as the lead actor in the movie. Puneet Gill, ETC Punjabi Miss Punjab 2007, has been cast opposite Gursewak. The story and dialogues are by B.B. Verma, while the screenplay is by Baldev Gill. Santosh Kataria has given music to the lyrics penned by Babu Singh Maan.
