These days as blogging or having a personal website has become as common as having a home address, what better gift can one get for a blogging friend or family member, other than a domain name paid for a few years in advance? No more .blogspot.com or blogsome.com or tumblr.com attached to their personal site domain address.

Compared to when the worldwideweb started to be used widely a domain name could cost a fortune, however nowadays, you can easily purchase a domain name with a .com or .net (the most common ones) as low as 5 dollars. It's not something uncommon to get a domain name as a gift I'm quite sure, but just would like to re-share the thought here as I am also about to gift a domain name to a friend as well. I remember how thrilled I was when I first obtained my own domain name. Here's hoping that the person on the receiving end would love the idea as well. :)

Mannequin jewelry holder

I usually keep my jewelries or accessories in a jewelry box - a music box my mother gave me for my 16th birthday. However I'd like to be a little more organized with them and thought of getting one of these beautiful jewelry mannequins to display some of my favorite accessories on my dresser.

15 concealer palette.

One of the things that I got for Christmas is the 15 concealer camoflage palette. And I was so happy to get it. I'm glad that despite the horrible weather and the holiday season, I received this in my mailbox in good time.

The palette comes with 3 corrector colours - green, lilac and yellow - one white highlighting colour, and 11 concealer from light to dark shades. It costs only $5 including shipment.

The reason why I decided to get this is of course because of the many different shades. I don't really know what colour would be suitable for me and since I am a newbie in this, this palette is perfect for me. I can blend and match, and experiment on it as much as I want.

The texture of the concealer is creamy and easy to blend. I wore it once for some time and it didn't cause any break out. So I suppose for a make up that does the job and doesn't cause any break outs, it is a good bargain.

Cute N.Korean kids with drums

I once posted about cute North korean children playing guitar meticulously and recently I found a video of a couple of cute North Korean children playing the drums. They are cute! but creepily too perfect at the same time. Heck they didn't even have to glance at the drums.

I wonder if they have a set of kids playing the trombone as well. :)

Simple review: Kindle HD

I've had the kindle for about 10 days now. Here are my thoughts on it.

Things I like:

1. The dolby stereo speakers.
2. The ease of use.
3. The price
4. Whispersync for the reader
5. Parent control with kindle freetime for children
6. Standard compliant charger.
7. The customer support on Amazon.

Thing I don't like so much:

1. Lack of customization features (wallpaper, how the entire kindle looks etc)
2. Very little apps to choose from compared to itunes or in google play store. Not a huge boon, but it was a wee disappointing.

Well, seems like I have more pros than cons opinion on this device, so I am indeed quite happy with it. Next to my basic kindle, for me this is another best buy within less than a year.

Tony Moly backstage gel eyeliner

Another Tony Moly product that I've been using for a few months is the 'Backstage gel eyeliner'. I tried the black one and love it. It comes in a small pot with a retractable brush screwed on top of the lid.

The gel is very pigmented and you don't really need a lot of product. It is also very smooth to apply and is quite long lasting. I use it 8-9 hours everyday and it doesn't smudge. I just adore this product. So much so I ordered a second pot in the colour of 'Choco brown'. I like the black one better.

I bought these through an ebay seller located in South Korea. Depending on the seller there, one pot shouldn't cost more than $12 - $13. Online shopping rocks! I get most of my gadgets to make up online. (Now even thinking of checking out pest control supplies online. :) )

Kindle Fire HD

I just pre-ordered the "Kindle fire HD" 7 inch tablet as soon as I found out that Amazon will be shipping to a few more countries. I love my basic kindle but it sure would be fun to read books with illustrations or comics in colour.

I have to admit that I am a little apprehensive about ordering online instead of just going to a shop (when it's available) to buy, because of possible issues that may arise. If it is bought locally I may get someone to help immediately like a gadget and appliance service. But since I have never really had any problems with gadgets I bought online so I'm taking risk (as some of my friends would call it). Furthermore, I'm purchasing from a trustworthy site like Amazon.

I simply can't wait for the kindle arrive in my hands!

Cute sheds

Summer is approaching and there are more and more bicycles in the city. I've still yet to buy the bicycle that I've been wanting to get. Since there's the issue of storage. Living in an apartment has its disadvantages!

However, if one has a small garden perhaps storage issue can be solved easily. I saw some nice looking diy sheds at Sheds for less direct. The storage solution for every garden. :) Not to mention cute ones too.

Seems like a good size even for a small garden. Perfect for storage and perhaps a little garden office or work room. (I always dreamed of a small craft shed for myself) There are various materials to choose from - resin, plastic, metal, wood - and different sizes as well - small, medium, large and extra large. I like the wood ones the best.

Well, it would be nice to have a small shed in the common garden we share with the neighbors. Nobody else is really utilizing it anyway. Then I don't have to worry about getting my bicycle stolen if I leave it outside.

Essence colour arts eye base

I must admit that this blog has turned into a makeup product review blog. I've been trying a few new products lately. One of them being the 'Essence colour arts' eye base/primer.

I picked it up at a local drugstore and has been using it for about 2-3 weeks now. It has a gel like texture and gives a tacky feeling when you apply it on your skin. The tackiness enhanced the pigment of the eyeshadow in my opinion but makes it difficult to blend the eyeshadows. On an ordinary work day I leave it on for 10 - 11 hours, I can say I am satisfied with the long lastingness though it did create a little crease on my lid if I look closer.

So my verdict, will I buy it again - most probably not.
Do I recommend it? for the price and long lastingness... Yes.

SKINFOOD Red Orange Make Up Finish -Matte

I was reading the reviews on floyd rose tremolo from musicians friend when I remembered that I wanted to review another product from Skinfood which I have been using for a bit more than a month now. It's the Skinfood's red orange makeup matte finish.

The product comes in two types - matte and glossy finish. I decided to try the matte at first and I may go for the glossy one next.

It comes in an 80ml bottle and cost about 10 -14 usd depending on where you order them. I've been using it almost everyday and I've only used up about 1/3 of the bottle.

Now whether it works to keep my makeup long lasting. Well, I can say I am pretty much satisfied that it did keep my makeup looking fresh longer compared to not having it on at all. Though having a rather dry skin type, it was not such a good idea to have gotten the matte one instead of the glossy.

Will I buy it again? The glossy one, not the matte.
Worth it? I think so.

Dimples that many people find cute are actually a defect. Some people see bowlegs are sexy. While others see snaggled/crooked teeth as cute or beautiful.

The teeth needs to be prepared using a special powder and a mold that you can use to fit on your teeth to customize it to the shape of your teeth. Then the teeth is trimmed, stick on to the incisors and voila! a cute snaggle teeth look in an instant. :P

Kind of weird, but oh well... beauty is indeed in the eye of the beholder.

88 eyeshadow

After trying out the 88 warm eyeshadow palette, I couldn't help but order a different palette. This time I got the 88 full colour matte.

This too I got for less than $10 with free shipping off of ebay. The 88 warm eyeshadow is enough for everyday use but I still got this palette so that I can experimentally create fun looks. And what's my verdict?? The colour is as pigmented as the warm ones. I didn't regret buy these. I just love it!! Would I recommend? For that price and the acceptable quality.. yes!

I'm checking out ghs strings at Guitar Center and I'm going to order the shimmery ones. :)

88 warm palette eyeshadow

I just received my 88 warm palette eyeshadow about a week ago. I don't usually wear unbranded make up but I've made this an exception for the many recommendations by the beauty gurus on youtube. I glad I did.

I got mine on ebay for less than $10. Took about a month to arrive but I was patient enough. :) And my patience is rewarded at least with a good quality product. For that price, I'd wait another month if I have to. Just too bad that from laptops to mens leather briefcases to simple unbranded makeup the best price is through online shops.

Anyhow, back to the eye shadows. The colours are pigmented and it is long lasting. The first time I used it, people even complimented on the colours. Well, for one I am not the type to wear eye shadows everyday, but even when I used before people didn't compliment nor point it out, but when I used this, they seemed to notice more. :)

So would I buy again? Definitely.
Would I recommend? Yes!

My favourite animal has got to be the sea otters. The look so cute and cuddly and well they are just too darn adorable when they try to break a seashell to eat. Simply "cuteness approved". :)

Skinfood Egg White Pore Foam

My current favourite facial wash is the Egg White Pore Foam from skinfood. It claims to brighten the face and tighten the pores.

I've been having using this for almost a month now. I am not sure about the brightening part but I do feel like it does tighten the pores a little. Not to mention after usage, my skin felt supple and soft.

The price is okay too for 150ml for you just need to use a little at a time. Which means for a tube it will go a long way.

Will I buy it again. Sure will. But before that I think I will try another Korean facial wash. My makeup cupboard will soon need a "Disk defrag" just like a hard disk drive... ( I need reorganizing of my growing collection. :D ) Those who have tried out Korean beauty products will understand. :)

Lioele Auto eyebrow

Another Korean beauty product that I recently purchased is the Lioele Auto eyebrow pencil in number 3 the Gray black. A purchase that I am glad I had made. Why??

Well, because :
1. You don't have to sharpen it
2. The colour is just natural for people with dark almost black eyebrows. Due to the grayness, you don't have to be afraid that it would look so 'on your face' black.
3. Just like many Korean beauty products, the price is very reasonable.
4. I just love the brush that comes with it to tidy up your eyebrows. :)

Will I be repurchasing it?? Definitely!

Missha BB boomer

Other than the 'Goodbye pore ever' skin primer, the only other primer that I've used is the 'Missha BB boomer'. Yes, I'm crazy about Korean makeup and skincare products at the moment. :) This cream claims to create a dewy look to the skin and also helps bb creams to stay on the skin longer.

When applied to the skin, the cream appears to be a little pinkish - perhaps to create a healthy glow to the skin. For a person who has a yellow undertone, I am not sure whether this is a good thing. As to the long-lasting effect, well, I can say that it is not the best but it does help my bb cream to stay longer on my skin. So far I like it, but perhaps I will not repurchase it, but would try out other Korean skin primers instead.

The next skin primer I have in mind is the Face shop's face it velvet skin primer or Missha pore balm. Perhaps after I do a little online window shopping for brass mouthpiece at wwbw, I will decide which one to buy. :)

Wonder pore freshner

Another Korean beauty product that I recently tried out is this Wonder pore freshner. It is actually a water toner. It claims to:

deep cleanse the pores

maintain skin ph

controls sebum

minimises appearance of pores

refine skin tone

maintain pore elasticity

moisturize skin from inside and outside

I have a rather sensitive combination skin. I usually never used toner because many of them would dry out my skin. But this one doesn't dry out my skin and yes it feels refreshing to use it after I wash my face and it seems to pick up a lot of dirt and grime that the washing left out. I love it.

I bought it after reading numerous positive reviews about this product and after using it myself for about a month I'd recommend it too! :)

Etude house: Goodbye pore ever

Here is another Korean product that I've tried out - the Etude House's Goodbye pore ever primer.

It is in fact the first primer that I've ever used and I love it. I have quite big pores on the skin next to my nose and as it works as it claimed it would. Well, since my pores are pretty huge to begin with, I can still the pores on close up, but my makeup seems to look much more smoother. And I've been getting compliments at how my skin looks much smoother. Another thing that I noticed is that my makeup seems to stay a wee bit longer too.

I also love the fact that the price is so affordable - $11 for a 20ml sized tube - and I'm quite sure that I will be repurchasing this again.

Recent collection: Fridge magnets

If not all but most of us must have some sort of collection of something - from stamp collection to g&l guitars. Some people I know would spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars collecting things. I am one of those people. Though I don't spend thousands on such collections but maybe hundreds. :D A little collection that I just recently started on is : fridge magnets.

Photo's are just examples.

I buy them at places I visited or I get them through family and friends. Not a big collection (yet). But hopefully I will have enough to cover my entire fridge door. :)

Jumping on the lip tint bandwagon.

I've been contemplating whether I'd try liptints or not for quite some time. But being a "lipstick person" I finally caved in and bought the Tony Moly Cat Chu lip tint in Apple red shade and I got the cherry pink tint shade in sample size as a free gift. :)

There are 3 shades to choose from: Pink, Red and Orange. Having a medium dark skin tone, only the first 2 shades seems to suit me.

The tint is water based and it dries up pretty fast on the lips. some people complains about this, but for me this is not such a big issue. The colour is pigmented so a little goes a long way. Just dab a few dots on the lips if you want to just add a little natural colour to your lips. Apply generously and build up on the application as much as you like if you want a more daring more pigmented look.

It does have a strange bitter taste to it and it dries the lips quite a bit hence making it a necessity to add clear lipgloss or lipbalm over it.

Though it doesn't last as long as I would like it, max 3-4 hours if I eat and drink. But that is better than most lipsticks.

Overall, I love this product, and I would definitely repurchase this. :)

L'cret miracle magic lipsticks

I'm still in Korean cosmetic mode. :) I recently purchased L'cret miracle magic lipstick by Lioele. If you grew up in the 90's you may remember the mood lipstick that used to be quite popular. This lipstick is a mood lipstick with enhanced 7 in 1 formula that is said to last up to 12 hours - moisture and color.

The color is sheer when you apply on the lips. It doesn't feel like lipstick but more like lipbalm - so moisturized. However, wait a few seconds and the color will change to a bit more pigmented. It came in 5 colors - Sexy red, elegant purple, fresh green, neat yellow and fresh orange. Mine is elegant purple so according to the ad it is supposed to change to light pink. But mine turned a little fuschia. Different person will have different color results because the lipstick depends on the ph of the body.

Did it last 12 hours.. for me the color yes though it isn't as pigmented but after drinking, eating and wiping my mouth I still could see some color. Though the moisturized effect is somewhat diminished. All in all I am happy with the purchase and most probably will buy myself another color - looking at the fresh green. :)
