Comment on Jason Momoa and Lilakoi (Lisa Bonet) welcome a daughter by Denise

I've always loved the name Lola, since its the name of an older family member of mine (Latina, short for her name, Dolores). I remember that Madonna used it and then it seemed to become really popular as a full name, rather than a nick-name.

Understanding that Lenny's alleged affair with Madonna was the straw that broke the camel's back, in the Kravitz marriage, I thought of that when I read that Lisa named her daughter "Lola" as well.

I like older names. My 8 year old daughter is Genevieve, which is an older name, now becomming more popular because of a Barbie movie a year ago or so.

My second daughter is Olivia, which is another name I've always loved, but I do think it was Lisa Bonet's character, Denise's step daughter (portrayed by Raven Symone) from the Cosby Show, who made that name so popular.

Yes I agree, it seems names are popular for a short time, then eveyone moves onto a different "era". And Actors, Musicians, and artist have a way of pushing these changes.

my first name is and always has been paris. people often ask me why my parents named me paris. they told me it was the only name they could agree on. but people were dis-appointed with such a boring answer, so I made up a story of romance, intrigue, and war worthy of a comparison to Casablanca. most people actually believe it. but there's always someone who says, "What war?" you see, the smart people figure out that since I was born in 1956, there was no war at the time. I tell them. "At sea, there's always a war". but alas, they don't believe that either. btw, I have personally met at least 20 other people named paris in my life. I think it's uncommon, but not rare.

Our son was named Jake because it was daddy's nickname growing up. It stands to reason that everyone had the same thing in mind!
