I recently noticed that I was being billed each and every month for HBO the Works, which I did not even have access to on my television. I called the customer service department and requested that they refund the charges, back to when they began, as I did not have HBO channels available, nor did I request them.

I was told by the “friendly” customer service representative that as the customer, it is MY job to review my invoices in detail and see if there is an error. If any errors are not caught and brought immediately yo their attention (before the next billing cycle) they are not responsible for the billing error, nor will they refund the billing error.

Again, if your cable and/or high speed internet service is serviced by Insight Communications review your invoice thoroughly for any inaccuracies or you too might find yourself waiting for hours on hold with one of Insight’s “friendly” customer service representatives.

A flash flood warning was issued for the city of Louisville in Kentucky at 10:03 AM on 8/4/09. It is now 11 AM and over 6 inches of rain and hail have fallen over a large portion of the city.

Local news authorities are reporting major power outages, floating manhole covers, barricaded viaducts, closed expressways, and even several water rescues.

More than 9″ of rain has fallen on the city in the last week. The problem is now compounding in that the ground is saturated and any and all rain received will simply be runoff – causing ponding and flooding.

Louisville Flooding Hardest Hit Areas:

The hardest hit areas of Louisville are: Downtown Louisville, the University of Louisville campus, St. Matthews, and Shively. Shively police report that nearly every street in Shively is closed due to flooding and/or ponding.

St. Matthews area residents report flooding on Shelbyville Road at I-64 and by both Oxmoor and St. Matthews Malls, a highly trafficked area in St. Matthews.

The Mayor’s office reports That I-65 North into Downtown is closed in at least 2 locations: @ Arthur Street and @ Grade Lane. A spokesperson for the Mayor’s office says that almost all viaducts in the city have been barricaded: Please do not try to go around them. They also note that many water rescues have been made within the 1 hour the storm has been over the city. One is currently going on at this time. Luckily there are no natural gas issues at this time – LG&E confirms this statement.

The Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) have received more than 1,500 calls in 1 hour, asking that they respond to an emergency. They are currently running 25 calls in the rear and ask that those involved in minor traffic accidents do not call LMPD to report them unless there is an injury.

Shelters will be open this evening for those displaced by the storm.

Louisville Flooding Power Outages:

Duke Energy, servicing Southern Indiana, has reported that more than 4,000 households are without power, only 1 hour into the storm. Louisville Gas & Electric (LG&E) is not reporting an official number of outages at this time, as they are constantly changing, but they do report that there are a number of blown transformers across the city that are being addressed.

Several LG&E servicing centers and mainframes and MSD headquarters are without power and running on generator power. LG&E is still in the assessment stage and does not have an estimated time for restoring power. Many outages are expected to continue into tomorrow. LG&E is bringing in outside crews to help with the restoration of power to those who are without.

Louisville Flooding Floating Manhole Covers:

Metro Sewer District (MSD) reports that due to the massive amounts of water going through the city’s sewer system numerous man hole covers are missing and water is gushing from the open holes at a high rate of speed.

Local authorities warn Louisville residents not to walk through water, not only because of the sewage that may be contaminating it, but because there is a chance you may fall into a hole, should a manhole be missing.

If you see missing or floating manhole covers, please report these to MSD. There is not currently a boil-water advisory, but stay tuned to local television and radio stations for up-to-the-minute reporting on that.

The University of Louisville, an area synonymous with flooding, is experiencing ponding water in excess of 13 feet. The entire West side of the campus is currently barricaded and the evacuation of students living in dorms is being considered. All scheduled classes for today have been canceled.

The City of New Albany in Southern Indiana asks that all residents stay put until we know more about what the storm is going to do. Louisville is not currently asking residents to stay put, but asking them to use extreme caution when getting out, and asking them NOT to go out if at all possible.

This is the worst flooding in Louisville, Kentucky since the flood of 1997 when 11 inches of rain fell in a 24 hour period. The current Louisville storm is classified as a “Flash Flood” since more than 3″ – 6″ of rain has fallen in 1 – 24 hour period.

Compounding the problem is the fear that additional rain will be coming through the city at 2:30 PM with potential for intense rain, upwards of 4 inches, and wind speed in excess of 50 MPH.

Not long ago Google released their mobile operating system called “android”. I used it for a while on the first release of the G1 with T-mobile and although it was new and cool it did lack many features and was sub par compared to the iPhone (which I currently have the 3GS). The Google Car

Next, we have the possibility of a Google car!! The car is not going to have a seat, steering wheel, etc. It is supposed to be comfortable with bench style seating and confronting you with “Where would you like to go” when you first enter the car. Electric at its best…

Do you think Google will take over insurance as well? Will Google reimburse me when the car gets in an accident. Will you only be able to have Google insurance? Lots of questions in my mind. Article Link

Ya, I don’t update the blog often anymore after all its been up forever now! Just wanted to go over a few things in the industry and life of me… (my blog eh)

First, yes I finally moved into my new house and its been really exciting although a ton of work so far. I think (hope) it makes me more productive and really motivational!

Next, facebook seems to hate me lately and I just keep having to adjust the few campaigns I got on there as the change their rules. FTC has a press release coming out tomorrow about all the grant offers on fb. Not sure exactlly what its going to say but I stopped running my cheddas blog etc.. Also, on wf they said all the auto rebill offers are going down asap! This means most everything you currently see on fb so start expanding your ads!

Then, I also have been working on two new ideas I had. One will help me to go into the advertiser side of affiliate marketing for the first time and the other idea is a new website (which wont be ready for a while) but will hopefully take over its niche… all around seo and ppc etc!

What’s even more chilling is that this the second time Louisville residents have been without power on such a wide scale in less than sex months!! See Louisville Power Outage. However this time the outage is not as depressing for me because we have power at my house. On the September 15th outing, we were one of the last houses to have our power restores – 7 days without electricity in the middle of summer!

I had never been to Vegas before so Jonathan and I stayed at the Venetian and out of pretty much all the hotels we visited we agreed besides the Bellagio the Venetian was by far the best themed hotel to stay at! Here are some pictures of the hotel and our hotel room:

The first night we went to a party sponsored by Wickedfire and someone else (whom I forget) at a mansion. The pics are of the indoor pool..

Then I took Jonathan around shopping to buy a watch and low and behold you can’t take him anywhere without running into trouble. He was looking at the watch he liked and he amazingly gets it stuck on his jacket! It was quite hilarious at the time!

A couple of days ago I thought it necessary to purchase a new digital camera before the Affiliate Summit West in Las Vegas, and I decided on the Nikon Coolpix S550, advertised on t.v. by Ashton Kutcher. I searched the Internet for the best deal, and found it at OnTimeDigital.com, where they advertise the Nikon Coolpix S550 for $119.00, with a Retail Price of $299.99. I placed an order for the camera and paid additional to upgrade the shipping.

When I did not receive the camera after a couple of days, I called the company to track my order. I was then placed on hold for a ridiculous amount of time before a rude sales associate came to the phone to assist me with my inquiry. I soon discovered that the camera had not even shipped! They informed me that they had planned to call me to ask me which battery I wanted to purchase for the camera, as it did not come with one.

My options for the battery were between a 2-hour battery for $45.00 or a 5-hour battery for $65.00. I questioned the associate several times why the camera did not come equipped with a battery, since every retail store that carries the camera includes a battery with purchase, and they could not give me a reason. And before I could even get another word out, they asked if I would just like to cancel me order! Completely unsolicited!! Apparently, they know they are scamming people.

Needless to say, I found an identical camera at Murphy’s Camera, a Louisville, Kentucky-based camera store, for only a few dollars more. And for that small additional amount paid, I received great customer service and a 2-year warranty backed by the store. I am sorry to say that sometimes, something are better purchased off line.
