In recent times, Jagapathi Babu is accepting key supporting roles in films in addition to taking up solo lead roles, just like Sri Hari.

These two actors are considered as lucky mascots by producers and directors, since all the films, where Jagapathi Babu or Sri Hari played pivotal supporting roles, were all big hits.

Now, Kalyan Ram and Jagapathi Babu are acting together in a film tentatively titled Ghanudu, which is being produced by Ramakrishna Raju. The female leads are played by Sneha Ullal, Sindhu Menon and Rupa Kaur.

Dhanraj is making his debut as director with this film, which is likely to go to floors in the first week of December.

Kalyan Ram seems to be back in the reckoning as he claims to have received tremendous response from audience and critics alike for his latest release Hare Ram, a xxxxxx thriller. "It has opened well and the response is tremendous" discloses Ram, brimming with confidence. And how did this change come about? Kalyan attributes this change to none other than his wife. He conceived the role of a xxxxxx after considerable homework with valuable tips from his medico-wife to make the role ‘unique’. "She has definitely helped us in creating a more convincing character " reasons the scion of the NTR family. Just as Kalyan acknowledges his wife's role in his recent success, we raise the issue of marriages among professional couples breaking up on flimsy grounds. We remark that in this age of professional couples willing to break up even over trivial issues, it is heartening to know that the young actor-medico' couple has had a smooth-sailing relationship despite their demanding professions. "I think understanding and transparency are the key factors in making the marriage of professional couples work. It has been 2 years since we got married but it took us just 4 months to strike a chord as we discussed the pros and cons of our respective jobs threadbare and gained each other's confidence," says Ram who rarely skips dinner with his spouse to discuss all issues under the sun. Besides playing double roles, he has also donned the role of a producer for his latest movie. "I love to be involved in every aspect of filmmaking. I put across my thoughts to my technicians but we finally arrive at a decision only after a healthy discussion," clarifies Kalyan who was determined to share his ideas and suggestions in an attempt to improve his performance and unwilling to repeat his past flip-flops. On whether or not lineage plays a role in achieving success in films, Kalyan believes that success is determined more by a good script than lineage. He strongly refutes that only films made by families with an illustrious background in films find patronage with the audience. "I think the big success of Happy Days and Gamyam proved that the audience is game for good scripts unmindful of the casting," explains Ram, who describes lineage as a 'double-edged' sword. "We receive appreciation for good work but at the same time we get severe flak even for small mistakes," says Ram who created a sensation of sorts by bringing all the stalwarts of the Nandamuri clan on one stage to release the audio of Hare Ram sometime ago. "We do meet at private functions but this one turned out to be a public function and like always, generated hype. But all said and done, now I am happy about living up to the big expectations," concludes the youngster.

This is Kalyan Ram's second movie on his home banner. His efforts are seen in big way. He tried to showcase his acting prowess as spilt personality.

Story:
The film is about an IPS officer Hari (Kalyanram) who is busy investigating the murders of a news reporter (Prabhakar) and then a well known doctor (Rajeev Kanakala) and then discovers that these are the murders done by his conjugal twin Ram (Kalyanram).

The story goes that Ram has a problem with his brain and is unable to control his hyper emotions about few things which makes him a beast at times. He would not even hesitate to kill and does not like anyone being praised or belittling him. In this process, he builds a grudge against his own brother who is good at everything and tries to kill him right during their childhood. Their mother (Seetha) is unable to tolerate all this and takes it upon herself to change Ram, so she takes him away from Hari to avoid further hatred but then not much change happens in the nature of Ram even after they grow up. Meanwhile, Hari is often chased by Anjali (Priyamani) who poses as a bank employee but in truth she is actually a CBI officer who comes to arrest Hari since she suspects his hand in the killings of a news reporter (Prabhakar) and a well known doctor (Rajeev Kanakala). Apparently, the doctor happens to be the younger brother of the health minister Siva Reddy (Kota) and from then on the minister is closely on the heels of the killer. Anjali finally manages to arrest Hari successfully through a plan of hers and soon she realizes her folly when she chances upon his mother and understands the entire story of Hari and Ram.

Flashback..

Hari&Ram are conjoined twins.After successfully seperating them Doctor informs the parents (Chandramohan,Sita) that Ram might be a mentally retarded person when he
grows up.As a Kid Ram is irritated when someone points out his illness.His mom takes him away from home when he is aversed to his brilliant brother Hari &attempts to kill
him.

Why does Ram commit the two murders? Does he change his attitude towards his brother? Can Ram get out of the case smoothly? All this forms the rest of the story.

Performance:
Kalyanram has put his heart and soul to come up with a good performance and though he was nice in most of the scenes, he failed out during the intense scenes which required good depiction of emotions and expressions, his dialogue delivery is ok. He portrayed good histrionics in the role of Ram.

Priyamani worked well on screen as a 'Glamour girl'.

Kota was the apt choice for the corrupt politician but there was not much gravity to his role.

Seetha did her role effectively as the unlucky mother, the comedy track was an utter disappointment and despite the presence of highly experienced and entertaining actors like Brahmanandam, Ali, Raghu Babu and Venu Madhav, nothing happened to the funny bones.

Ashok Kumar was hysterical which was annoying.

The others were okay with their performances but could not contribute much to the film.

The director has shown his amateur approach and though the idea was clear in his mind, he messed up narration with some shoddy screenplay and sour dialogues. The saving grace of the film is some good background score and worthy songs along with top notch camerawork and well executed stunt scenes though the fight sequences were quite savage. Costumes were good on the lead pair and editing was alright.

Highlights:

Kalyanram excelled in dual role.Hareram provided the actor enough scope to showcase his ingenuity.
Director Harshavardhan ( Swarna Subbarao) tried to present Hareram as a stylish action thriller and he succeded somewhat.
Priyamani is ok.
Music(Micky J.Meyyer)is good in songs.Rerecording is awesome Mainly background score
Cinematography(Ramprasad) has done good effort.

Sidelights:
First half is ok with interval bang Twist,Second half is better.
The movie has a decent plot &neat characterisation to thrill the audience.But the screenplay isn't that good.it lacks pace & the director failed to maintain the tempo.Despite the presence of Brahmanandam,Ali,Raghubabu there isn't much comedy.(More care should be taken on Comedy plot)

Analysis:

First Half of the film is decent the interval twist leads the audience to the second half with high hopes.secondhalf meets the expectations of the audience.And the last 15 minutes show is captivating with high value stunts and fly cam work.Director has chosen right story and did his best.

The film is opened with old style of movies and slowly appreciated the momentum and holds audience interest. On a whole the movie has all commercial values to become a decent hit. Technical values are strong. Production values from NTR arts is so rich. Already it

> Micky J. Meyer came as a fresh brezee into Telugu films. Though his first film Pothe Poni10th ClassNotebook and Happy Days was noticed widely, and he even won his first Filmfare Award for Happy Days. I called him before the release of Hare Ram audio and he promised to talk after the release of audio. Once I listened to the and then his work for the movies was not a box-office hit, he was noticed with the film audio, I called him to say how I felt about it, and then we had a brief chit chat. Here are some excerpts from our telephonic conversation:

Sri: Tell me about yourself.

MJM: As you are aware, I was born and brought up in Hyderabad. Since my childhood, I have had a passion for music, and I used to play songs of Talat Mehmood on the Casio piano that we had at my home. I joined in Tritiny College of Music when I was in fifth standard, studied there for eight years and completed my graduation. I was composing and singing some songs in AIR when Thammareddy Bhardwaja gaaru offered me the film Pothe Poni. Though the film was a not a hit, I got noticed and other films soon followed. ...I haven't composed BGM for the films before Happy Days, but with Happy Days I started doing that too.

Sri: So, what's more difficult - composing songs or BGM for a movie?

MJM: Both are equally difficult, I'd say. A song has to elevate the movie, while the background score has to elevate each scene. Either one has its own importance. We simply cannot consider these two separate.

Sri: What's your comfort zone - composing music for lyrics or giving the tune first?

MJM: I am comfortable with both, but as of now, I can say I am more comfortable when I can give the tune first for a given situation, as I am not real good in Telugu. But soon, I'll be good in Telugu (laughs)!

Sri: Being a Hyderabadi, how come you are not familiar with Telugu?

MJM: I can understand Telugu but cannot speak as most of my friends are Hindi-speaking. I do not understand Telugu word to word, but can grasp the whole concept; I am learning the language now, which will change the situation soon (laughs)!

Sri: So, how do you work on the tunes? Would you sit and discuss the lead to the song and work on that, or what?

MJM: No, once I agree to do a film, I sit with the director and listen to the whole script and will know where the song is required. Depending on that, we go ahead with the song.

Sri: Interesting! So, would you tell the director if a song is misplaced or that it's not needed at all? Or, would you simply do your job?

MJM: I never faced such a situation... but I'd surely discuss with my director about any such situation. I do not have any problem in doing that!

Sri: I know a music director who abuses singers when they sing the tune wrong, be it on the stage or off the stage. How do you deal with singers?

MJM: (Shocked) What...! I can never do that, really! ...That's not my way, it's not how I was brought up, and it's not ethical! I respect singers who give life to my compositions. I do respect them a lot!

Sri: Who's you favorite music director?

MJM: I grew up listening to A.R. Rahman, and I am thus an ardent fan of A.R. Rahman gaaru.

Sri: What about singers?

MJM: Talat Mehmood sir. My dad has nearly all of his collection and so I grew up listening to them and even practising them on my piano.

Sri: What are your favorite instruments?

MJM: Piano and violin. I use these two more than any other instruments!

Sri: How did you feel about the Filmfare award?

MJM: (Laughs) What do you want me to say? The truth is that I am very happy and also that the movie got five more awards. So, it is like a bonanza for me! This gives me more responsiblity now.

Sri: How is the response for the audio of Hare Ram?

MJM: I am getting calls from all over the place, saying that they liked it! The sales are really good too. Kalyanram and Harsha gave me complete freedom and discussed every scene with me, which helped me a great extent when giving the background music for the movie. ...You must tell me how you felt after experiencing it in the movie. I wished him all the best for his career and ended the interview.
