Johnny Cash Would Have Celebrated 80th Birthday

Johnny Cash would have celebrated his 80th birthday today. The famed "Man In Black", has been called one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century. Remembered for his distinctive deep voice in country music, many of his songs crossed over into other genres including blues, gospel and rock and roll. During his career he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and the Gospel Music Hall of Fame.

During his long career, Johnny Cash showed lots of compassion for prisoners. He charted numerous hits themed on sorrow, hits including "I Walk the Line", "Folsom Prison Blues" and "Man in Black". So empathetic was Cash towards the plight of prisoners, that he performed at numerous prisons over his career from as early as back in the late 1950s. Live albums of these performances have become very successful e.g. Johnny Cash at Folsom Prison.

His characteristic attire of black shirt and pants earned him the title of "The Man in Black". In the 1970s he penned a chart hit by the same name in which he spoke out for the less fortunate, "I wear the black for the poor and the beaten down, Livin' in the hopeless, hungry side of town,/I wear it for the prisoner who has long paid for his crime, But still is there because he's a victim of the times."

In the mid 1980s, he joined with Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson to form a group known as The Highwaymen, who toured and recorded three hit albums.

Johnny Cash was a prolific singer-songwriter who released 96 albums over his career. He will be remembered.

Paris Hilton Track "Drunk Text," With Video, Hits Web

Stars are Blind? More like an heiress is tone deaf. Talks of Paris Hilton resuscitating her music career started last year, first with reports of her house DJing ambitions and then more details about an album produced by Afrojack. This week, perhaps to Hiltons chagrin, a track called Drunk Text ended up online with a produced video!

Could it be a single from her upcoming album? Although all signs would say so, the heiress spokesperson counteracted with the following statement: "We can confirm that the video leaked today is not part of Paris Hiltons new album. This video was recorded over a year ago. The first single will be out in a few months, we will let everyone know when its due for release."

Critics, so far, have been calling the track a joke. If Afrojack is, indeed, behind this track (lets hope the rising house producer isnt), he likely told the heiress to start talking about her latest drunken escapades, and then set a beat to it. Like any other drunken text, Hiltons lyrics are nonsensical. Only, unlike a painful two-liner, Drunk Text just goes on and on and on. Hear the track and watch the video here:

This upcoming album is Hiltons second grab at a pop career one that failed at the height of her heiress/reality persona popularity. Nevertheless, the former Simple Life star discussed it at the recent Grammys, telling reporters its perfect for clubs or Ibiza this summer. LMFAO and Flo Rida, as well as other artists, apparently, are making guest appearances, and a single is expected to be drop during the next two months.

At the Grammys, however, Afrojack said about Hiltons album: "I'm going to let the music speak for itself."

That statements about as promising as a film not screened for critics before opening night.

Nicki Minaj Debuts Next Single "Roman Reloaded"

Last year, Nicki Minaj promised more of character Roman Zolanski on upcoming album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded. So far, the released tracks live up to this, with “Roman in Moscow” appearing first and, on February 23, “Roman Reloaded” debuted on Funk Master Flex’s Hot 97 show.

While Roman, for Minaj, is a darker character, critics are hailing “Roman Reloaded” a return to form for the rapper, who recently went through a string of pop-influenced singles: the leaked “Marilyn Monroe,” the RedOne-produced “Starships,” and the ill-received Grammy performance of “Roman Holiday.” Essentially, “Roman Reloaded” takes the “Super Bass” rapper back to her early mixtape stylings. Aside from this, “Roman Reloaded” features Lil Wayne contributing a few verses.

Considering the greater range of styles Minaj has rolled out for Roman Reloaded, what could the album, which is scheduled for an April 3 release, sound like? Fans, and some critics, have started calling Minaj a “sellout” as the result of her pop dabbling. In an interview on Hot 97, Minaj addressed this point, stating: "I would hope that people know at this point that I'm smart enough to know what I'm doing all the time. But I guess they still kind of waiver. I always intended on putting out something urban after 'Starships,' because I knew 'Starships' was a monster. I didn't feel the pressure. To be honest, I feel really, really good. I feel that hip hop cares enough that they have something to say. I remember when I was hoping that someone had something to say about me on the radio or cared enough."

Gorillaz, LCD SoundSystem, Andre 3000 Collaboration "DoYaThing" Release

Although announced on February 9, the collaboration from Gorillaz, LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy, and Andre 3000 was released on February 23. Part of Converse Inc.’s “3 Artists 1 Song” campaign, “DoYaThing” surfaced on the shoe brand’s website as a free download yesterday, along with the Jamie Hewlett-designed Gorillaz footwear collection.

Even with the guest stars, “DoYaThing” has a distinct Gorillaz sound. Listen to it here:

“DoYaThing” is the latest in a string of “3 Artists 1 Song” campaign tracks, which have previously included such unlikely pairings as Matt & Kim, Soulja Boy and Andrew W.K., and Santigold, Julian Casablancas, and Pharrell. For “DoYaThing,” however, the shoe design came first. After a track was proposed, Gorillaz’s Damon Albarn contacted Murphy and Andre 3000, and in September, the trio recorded in London. Aside from a concept, no other facets were planned for “DoYaThing.” Murphy told Billboard: "We didn't exchange any ideas at all [beforehand]. Damon was basically saying, 'Let's just get in a room,' which, even if it wasn't Damon Albarn, is a pretty convincing argument, really. To be honest, I was worried that I should prepare something, but went with it anyway."

In describing the song process, the LCD Soundsystem singer said: "It was literally akin to a bunch of kids playing with toys until someone else said, 'Ooh! I like that bit!' […] Writing the lyrics was the funniest part... one person would be mumble-singing something and another would overhear him and ask, 'Oh… did you just sing…' I don't know... some crazy words that weren't at ALL what the guy was singing, and those new, misunderstood words could become the hook for a verse. I loved that about it."

A video is scheduled for the track, with an appearance expected by next week. An extended version is being released through the Gorillaz website at a later date.

Justin Bieber Collaboration With Far East Movement “Live My Life” Leaked

Roughly a week ago, news of a collaboration between Justin Bieber and Far East Movement was revealed by producer RedOne. Since then, LMFAO included the track in a DJ set – and the full produced version leaked online today.

The leaked track, however, reveals that “Live My Life” isn’t just another Bieber collaboration. Rather, the “Baby” singer simply adds the hook between verses. The track, as well, appears destined for an upcoming Far East Movement album, while the Biebs has plans of his own for a single leading into Believe. The singer tweeted: "And u guys keep asking. so yeah. my single is NEXT MONTH>#BELIEVE,"

RedOne claims “Live My Life” is destined to be a “smash.” Do you agree? Could this track achieve the same level of success for Far East Movement as “Like a G6”?

In discussing plans for album Dirty Bass, Far East Movement’s Kev Nish told Billboard: "FM has always focused on unexpected collaborations and mashing up musical genres which keeps making music exciting. 'Live My Life,' is a song we think both FM and Bieber fans will enjoy together."

Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun and RedOne mentioned the teen singer’s vocal maturity, and his greater depth is evident on “Live My Life,” although it’s somewhat shrouded by Auto-Tune. Believe, the pop star’s third studio album, is scheduled for release in 2012, and its first single is expected in March.

February 28 is the proper release for “Live My Life,” a video shoot is scheduled for the near future. Additionally, Red Foo of LMFAO is expected to be included in a remix of the track.

Limp Bizkit Sign With Cash Money

Over the past decade, Limp Bizkit saw their profile fade. Nu-metal became dated (by now, it’s easily defined as one of the distinct sounds of the early 2000s), Wes Borland left the group, and after releasing a handful of critically panned but still moderately successful albums, they went on hiatus until 2009. Regrouping in 2009 with Borland back on board, the group saw a mild resurgence in 2011 with Gold Cobra and may be taking another step up by signing with Cash Money.

Lil Wayne revealed the news on New York’s Kiss FM, just days after announcing the addition of Christina Milian to the label’s acts. Weezy additionally indicated Ashanti, who’s in the midst of a comeback herself, may be joining the YMCMB roster. Could the label started by brothers Bryan “Birdman” Williams and Ronald “Slim” Williams be the refuge of once-hot artists from the early ‘00s looking for career resurgence?

Although Fred Durst confirmed the news on Twitter, the label released a formal statement. The Bizkit frontman is quoted with saying: "As both an artist and someone who has signed artists, I can say without a doubt that Cash Money is at the top of their game. What attracted me to the label is not only their great taste and hustle, but their belief in their artists and the family atmosphere. Slim and Birdman allow their artists to be themselves and encourage creative output and continued development. I look forward to bringing my vision as a director as well as my voice to the label and to Limp Bizkit putting out some of our best music. ... This is the most at home, comfortable, and confident I have felt in the business to date.”

Birdman added: "We have always admired how they have been able to blend rock and hip hop and will bring a unique sound to the label.”

As a result of the signing, Limp Bizkit may soon be putting out music and, in the recent traditions of Cash Money, a few collaborations in 2012. Do you think adding the nu-metal band is a good move for Cash Money? Hit artists like Nicki Minaj and Drake have certainly raised its profile, but could Limp Bizkit, a semi-reviled band, sully it? Andre 3000 States OutKast Not Planning Album

Both Andre 3000 and Big Boi have been busy with their separate projects, from working with other artists to producing solo albums, but could another OutKast album be in the works? A recent interview Andre 3000 gave with GQ indicates no such music is planned.

The duo haven’t put out a release together since 2006’s Idlewild. A follow-up, if his statements are to be believed, isn’t in the cards – at least for now. In discussing all current activities, including resuming his fashion line, Andre 3000 told the men’s magazine: “[…] I have to say that as of now, there are no plans for another OutKast album. There's a lot of music on the horizon. I've been living off the excitement of new artists. I've been privileged to have these new artists kind of reach out and grab back and say, ‘Hey, Andre, we want you on this song.’ So I've been taking those calls and for the last two years, I've been doing collaborations. So these new artists have kind of been keeping me alive. I've just really been feeding off of that and this year I think I'm planning to do a solo project.”

Some of those artists contacting Andre 3000 include B.o.B., Ke$ha, and Drake. In 2010, Big Boi put out his own solo release, Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty, and Andre 3000 may be following, although he provided minimal details in the interview but added fans have high expectations for his upcoming solo project. He stated: “The only thing I can really say is I'm going to get back to having fun because that's what it was all about when I started this in high school—with OutKast—those were like high school dreams. I'm 36 now, so I have grown-man dreams. This album will just be me being myself as normal.”

Gotye 'Easy Way Out' Music Video

Gotye has just released the music video for Easy Way Out, the second track from his recent album Making Mirrors, to be popularised by a video.

Some months ago, a video for "Easy Way Out" was released. That version was a cartoon type clip. This second, newly-released music video is a stop motion clip of life inside a run-down flat, in which Gotye goes through the motions of daily life. Having apparently taken nine months to make, now that the video is "alive and doing well", it is another one of those clips that compels the viewer to watch until the end.

It begins with Gotye waking in the morning to the sound of sirens as police or ambulances race past outside to an emergency. Even the "undernourished cat" gets disturbed and jumps off the dresser. The camera pans to the right showing Gotye as he gets ready for the day, pours coffee, smokes a cigarette, travels on the train, types at his desk ... the list goes on.

There is nothing new in what happens in the daily life of Gotye, except that all this is recorded in stop-motion video. It is compelling viewing.

Towards the end, a fire accidently starts in the flat. Unexpectedly, Gotye is so "ground down" by the pressures of his mundane life that he does not notice the fire. At one stage he is seen reading the paper oblivious to the flames beside him destroying his residence. Now that shows one "burnt out" individual!

The final scenes are devastating. There is not much left of the pokey little flat ... maybe the fire destroying the hovel was not such a bad thing!

This second "Easy Way Out" video is one interesting clip, showing exactly the easy way out. Or does it?

Diddy Working On Own Comcast Channel Called Revolt

Music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs is working with cable giant Comcast on his own branded channel, as well as Magic Johnson. The news comes after the company has decided to launch ten new networks in support of minority owned channels. According to reports from The Root, Diddy’s network, coined REVOLT, will entail music and pop culture.

The rapper shared that it will be “the first channel created entirely from the ground up in this new era of social media.” Diddy’s new network will launch in 2013. In other news, the artist is said to be in good health now after being hospitalized this past February 13^th for severe headaches. Diddy was apparently not feeling so well after playing host at a post Grammy party held at the Playboy mansion Sunday night, February 12^th.

According to several sources the migraine wasn't induced by anything that happened before or during the party but did prompt the singer to seek treatment at the UCLA emergency room. After the migraine was said to have gone away, Diddy left the hospital, resting the following day.

After Diddy’s absence from the social networks was recognized by his fans, as well as headlines regarding his hospitalization, Combs took to Twitter the next day to show his love and appreciation for those concerned. "Thanks for all the Twitter love! I'm fine. I just had the craziest Migraine. I'm just sleeping it off now. Thank you. Love yall," he wrote.

Britney Spears Possible Judge On ‘The X Factor’?

The name of pop singer Britney Spears has now been thrown into the ring. Spears is rumored to be a possible candidate for one of the empty positions as judge on The X Factor since the departure of both Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger.

Per the Herald Sun, Britney is interested in the job, shared a friend of the singer. "She's a huge fan of The X Factor and thinks it's the perfect time for her to be a judge. She wants to show her fans she is back to her best and where better to do that than on national TV every week? She knows all about the ups and downs of pop fame. And with her schedule relatively clear she has the time to dedicate to a different project."

Discussing the media rumors and possibilities, Simon Cowell was evasive, but did drop a few hints during a recent interview. "Are we flattered that there could be interest? Yes”, he shared in regards to Britney Spears. Adding, that "there's a load of speculation, some true, some not true," when it comes to who will fill the void.

He "can't confirm or deny any of these rumors at the moment,” but “it's true to say that there a lot of more people have entered the frame this year. We were waiting to see who was going to contact us before we actually contacted people... We will meet a number of people over the next few weeks, mainly to explain to them that this is a big commitment when you do a show like this because of the mentoring aspect."

Fans will have to wait and see if Britney Spears' name is on the list since The X Factor’s Cowell and L.A. Reid won’t be revealing who the judges will be for a couple of weeks. "That will happen over the next few weeks," Simon said of the two females reportedly scheduled to take the reins of the two open slots. "I always wanted a boy and a girl to host the show, and I definitely think that's going to happen now," he also added.

Official word from Spears or her camp have yet to be reported.

Robin Thicke Covers Whitney Houston’s ‘Exhale’

R&B singer Robin Thicke, who was just in the news last week after being arrested for possession of marijuana, is now grabbing attention for his rendition of the late Whitney Houston’s song ‘Exhale’, as confirmed by Contact Music.

The track dates back to 1995 and was featured on the movie soundtrack entitled ‘Waiting To Exhale’. The Terry McMillan adaption, as fans will remember, included Houston in the role of Savannah Jackson, with co-stars Angela Bassett and Loretta Devine. The film followed “four very different African-American women and their relationships with the male gender.”

Thicke told MTV News that he was thinking about the talented Whitney, who passed away on Febrauary 11^th and was discovered in the Beverly Hilton Hotel, before deciding to release his cover of ‘Exhale’. "I was thinking about Whitney and how incredible she was and remembered I had recorded this song years ago but never released it. I listened to it again, I was overcome by emotion, because the lyrics express everything I'm feeling right now."

Katy Perry Scores Another Number One With 'Part Of Me'

Katy Perry has done it again! Last week after she performed the track Part of Me at the 54th Grammy Awards, Katy can now sit back with a huge smile on her face watching the song debuting at the coveted number one slot on the Billboard Hot 100. In the 53 year history of the Billboard charts, this is only the 20th track to have achieved the fame of entering the chart at the pole position.

Looking at other achievements, "Part of Me" is also her seventh Hot 100 Number One. Also the track is at the apex on the Digital Songs Chart, where it has notched up more than 411,000 downloads! Now that's impressive. Never before, has Katy Perry racked up so many digital sales in such a short time.

The only artist who has exceeded this total is Lady GaGa with "Born This Way" last year, when it sold 448,000 downloads.

"Part of Me" is a new track on the re-issued version of Teenage Dream. It is a dancefloor single that's bound to become a club favourite with its regular groove and neat guitar hooks. And if the Grammy preview is anything to go on, this single has got to become a real favourite with its "fist punches" in the air - another party rock anthem.

The re-issued album, Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection, is due out at the end of next month.

Hence, with blistering digital sales, huge radio airplay expected over the next few weeks, and then the release of the expanded album, Kay Perry couldn't have timed things better. "Part of Me" is destined to become very comfortable in the number one chair in the charts.

President Barack Obama Sings 'Sweet Home Chicago'

US President Barack Obama has once again shown off his musical talent singing the classic blues track "Sweet Home Chicago" at a concert held at the White House last night. Growing up and working for much of his life in Chicago, the "Sweet Home Chicago" tune obviously holds a special place in the heart of the great man.

In the clip below, the President is seen thanking everyone for coming and participating. He makes a special thankyou to the artists who performed during the evening. A few bars of music are played, and then Buddy Guy challenges the President to continue his precedent of showing off his vocal prowess, saying "You gotta keep it up." At first the President shakes his head, declining the offer, but after the constant urging of everyone he eventually accepts the microphone from Mick Jagger and starts singing.

In the presence of the Jeff Beck, blues greats B. B. King and Buddy Guy, and the Rolling Stone front-man himself, how could he resist. He sang a couple of lines from "Sweet Home Chicago", briefly handing the microphone back to B. B. King and then continued for another line.

Over the past few months, the President has joined in with the singing at numerous events, last night being the seventh time on which he has shown off his musical talent. Words that have been said about this latest performance include the "loudest", "wildest", and "most exciting". This concert was another in a series hosted by the first lady Michelle Obama. Earlier concerts paid tribute to the history of civil rights in the US and the music of that era. Also the blues were honoured as, without doubt, they were the most influential music of all time.

Former Hannah Montana actress and singer Miley Cyrus is showing fans another tattoo, adding to her collection this past February 18^th. After paying a visit to the Los Angeles Studio City Tattoo just last Saturday, Cyrus came out with the words ‘Love Never Dies’ permanently inked on the inside of her bicep.

Per TMZ, Cyrus went to the tattoo studio around 8pm with her long time boyfriend actor and 'The Hunger Games' star, Liam Hemsworth, and a couple of their friends. The daughter of country singer Billy Ray Cyrus was said to be the only who got a tattoo. She was worked on by an artist at the studio named Illya, who has reportedly worked on the young singer before. Since getting her new tat, a picture of Miley flexing her bicep with the words on her inner bicep, reading ‘Love Never Dies’, has hit the web.

The ‘Party in the USA’ singer has also decided to chop her once curly locks, opting for a shorter bob, since visiting the tattoo shop. Looking more adult, Cyrus tweeted another new photo to fans showing off her new appearance. “Got ANOTHER hair cut! You likey?!”

After getting feedback from what sounds to be shocked fans, Miley tweeted - “All y’all are saying its soooo short! Only cut about an inch & a half off tonight! In total about 5 inches!!! I love it! So liberating!” It looks as though Cyrus is moving far from her days as a Disney star and into more adult territory.

After releasing his new track entitled ‘I Won’t Give Up’ this past January, artist Jason Mraz has now dropped his music video for the song that comes off of his upcoming studio album ‘Love Is A Four-Letter Word', as confirmed by Billboard. Seen in the emotional video is a former marine dancing with his girlfriend, still enjoying life after losing a leg, crying babies, growing old, and more.

Speaking about his song, Mraz explained, “The story of the video is that we all have our stories. We all have out own version of suffering….and everybody has many things to NOT give up on.”

Just this past weekend Mraz attended the 15th anniversary of the Sunset Sessions, an event he has performed at before, making time in his busy schedule to return. While there he performed his new song to a swarm of very happy fans. "He started right here with 'I'm Yours' four years ago and he really wanted to come back, so he flew in from New York," Patrick Pocklington, Mraz’s co-manager shared.

"This allows him to see a lot of his old friends who are music supervisors or work in radio”, and “will help get the buzz going for his new album, ‘Love Is A Four-Letter Word’, which comes out April 17^th.

LMFAO 'Sorry For Party Rocking' Music Video

LMFAO has just released the music video for "Sorry For Party Rocking", the sixth track from their second album sharing the same name.

The clip begins with the camera descending on a cardboard neihbourhood setting at night time. All looks quiet and peaceful except for a few remote beats and music. In the distance a cardboard house is seen with lights flashing in time with the music. Moving closer, it is realised that the peaceful neighbourhood is not going to be quiet tonight.

The beat of the music is now disturbed by the angry voice of an older gentleman dressed in a nightshirt. He is complaining to his wife, "They're at it again, Agnes!", but she has no sympathy as she argues that it's good for the kids to have some fun. So he goes off alone to try to stop the noise.

The next scene shows the party in the "cardboard" house. Young people are partying everywhere - in the house, on the upstairs' balcony, and on the grounds around the house. And fitting in with the cardboard houses theme, many of the party-goers are dressed with boxes on their heads and similar costumes. A huge blow-up zebra falls from the balcony, and subsequently features in the clip many times - adding to this wacky story.

Further along, a complaint is phoned in to the police who do the right thing and investigate the complaint. But that is where the help from the law ends.

The clip is packed with brilliant dance moves - shuffling, breakdancing, and heaps of other acrobatic marvels.

Redfoo and SkyBlu have done it again, with a music video that compels being watched. At over seven minutes, it seems a long clip. But with the Party Rockers at the helm, it is one great clip.

Santigold Announces New Album Release Date

It's been almost four years since Santigold came onto the scene with her self-titled debut (back when she was known as Santogold). Yesterday, she announced her new full-length album, Master of My Make Believe, will be released May 1 via Downtown/Atlantic.

The album will feature the already-released singles "Big Mouth" and "Disparate Youth." Recorded in Los Angeles, Jamaica, and New York, the singer told Billboard the album will be "sonically eclectic but with some epic curveballs thrown into the mix." She continued, "I wanted it to feel dynamic and powerful. I still have the songs that sound very electronic and clubby, but I have a couple ballads on this one - my own type of ballads, where they just sound big, like the way some old Kate Bush or Peter Gabriel songs were..."

While the singer admitted she had difficulty staying on the same page as her label to finish the album, the singer says she never compromised the vision of the album. "I wrote in the direction that [the label] were telling me, but secretly I kept writing in my own direction... At the end of the day, nobody will hear anything but things that I feel 100 percent are great."

Until the album's release date, the singer will perform at SXSW and tour with the Red Hot Chili Peppers. She will also be featured on Amadou & Mariam's neww album, Folila, on the track "Dougou Badia."

Jay-Z and Kanye West Announce European Tour

Jay-Z may have alluded to MTV about a possible Watch the Throne follow-up due this year, but so far no official announcement have been made.

Until then, Jay-Z and Kanye West have announced the first round of dates on the European leg of their Watch the Throne tour - not a bad consolation. The 12-show run kicks off May 20 in London and runs through Scandinavia, Germany, and France, ending on June 13. Expect more shows to be announced.

No updates yet on Jay-Z's follow-up to his last solo release, 2009's The Blueprint 3. So far the rapper has confirmed that he has recorded two tracks for his 12th solo album and has potential ideas for four more tracks. It is also reported that Q-Tip and West are working on the album. 2012 is indeed the year to "Watch the Throne."

The Pretty Reckless ‘You’ Music Video

The rock group, The Pretty Reckless, have released a new music video in promotion of their track entitled ‘You’, as confirmed by Perez Hilton. The single is their fourth track to be released from their debut album ‘Light Me Up’ that was released last year. The mostly black and white video features lead singer and former Gossip Girls actress Taylor Momsen as she strums her guitar looking defeated after a break up of some sort.

But amazingly calm for the singer who recently spoke out about her penchant for super funky, stripper heels, that seems to be a staple in her on stage wardrobe. Momsen, who usually commands most of the band’s attention with her risqué looks, shared that she has been in love with heels since her childhood. “I love stripper shoes and I always try to find the tallest ones,' she said.

"I’m always surprised no one talks about my shoes. I’m, like, on stage in 15-inch heels but people talk more about my eye make-up, which has stayed the same forever. I always think that’s funny. I’m 5’8”. So I’m really tall. I got into heels when I was little, though. My mum’s really short so she always wears really tall heels and I used to steal them.”

In other news, The Pretty Reckless have revealed via Twitter that they are planning to tour with Marilyn Manson. "The Pretty Reckless will be opening for @marilynmanson in the USA on his spring tour!! So excited!" Their first performance with Manson will kick off on April 27th in Providence, Rhode Island.

Clip of Madonna's Second Single "Girls Gone Wild" Released

Last night, a clip surfaced of Madonna’s “Girls Gone Wild,” a track produced by Benny and Ale Benassi. Through Twitter, manager Guy Oseary announced the song is the second single from MDNA, and a video shoot for it starts soon. He wrote: "The directors for 'Girls Gone Wild' video are Mert and Marcus... They also photographed MDNA album... "

Although “Girls Gone Wild” has no official release date, the lack of success “Give Me All Your Luvin’” had in the U.K. is said to be behind the quick push for a second single. “Give Me All Your Luvin’”, just weeks after Madonna’s Super Bowl performance, peaked at No. 10 in the U.S. and No. 37 on the U.K. charts. At one point, “Girls Gone Wild” was rumored to feature Britney Spears.

The tracks origins, however, begin at Ultra Music. At the time Benny Benassi was preparing to release his fourth album Electroman, label founder Patrick Moxey thought the Italian producer’s style would gel well with “major American superstar artists." Moxey requested Benassi and his cousin Ale produce a few tracks, which were then sent to Canadian songwriter Jenson Vaughan. Vaughan then sent the demo of “Give Me All Your Luvin’” to Oseary, and Madonna soon went to Italy to work with the Benassi brothers. Regarding the significant mark from Ultra, still considered an independent label, Moxey remarked to Billboard: "Obviously it's huge for us. We have both the producer and the top-line writer; that's 100% share."

Regarding the final outcome of the Benassi brothers’ production and Vaughan’s lyrics, Moxey mentioned: "I was really attracted to his lyrics, and I feel Benassi in my bones, because those bass-driven tracks are so inspiring. It's a bit like cooking, like, 'Ooh, what would this sound like together?'"

MDNA hits stores on March 26. Aside from “Girls Gone Wild,” “I’m Addicted” is another Benassi-produced track added to the album. Additionally, William Orbit, who worked with Madonna on Ray of Light, contributed five tracks and Martin Solveig (“Hello”) produced four.

A full version of “Girls Gone Wild” has yet to be released, but the clip can be heard first in a megamix for MDNA:

Antony Bitar 'Sanctuary' Music Video

Antony Bitar has just released the music video for "Sanctuary", a track from his self-titled debut album. Having walked away from his opera training, Antony now devotes all his time to song writing in his effort to make the world a better place. In his words, according to his website, "I'm being serious when I say...I hope to change the world with my music."

The video begins with a scene of rocks being submerged by the ocean as ripples flow over a small boulder. The view widens to show Antony sitting in a peaceful seascape setting singing the introduction to the song. Another view shows the hands of a pianist nearby as he plays the melody. Next scene shows Antony, in a reflective pose, sitting at a window ledge inside a city building. Further scenes show Antony singing in the city, or near the ocean shore, or just general scenes of nature.

"Sanctuary" is a song about feeling safe. He sings about getting the strength and hope, because without them there is nowhere to go. It is a song about feeling good with oneself through concentrating on that place he calls "sanctuary". Some people find this "sanctuary" in their home while others find this inner peace in other ways or places.

It is a song about optimism and concentrating on the many positives that abound.

Antony Bitar has a magnificent voice. He reaches the high notes with the greatest of ease, and has no problems with the low sounds or any of the notes in between. All the training in opera singing has produced a magnificent performer.

Sanctuary is a one of those great songs, of hope, of optimism, of striving forward. Antony Bitar will appeal to many with his brilliant talent as a performer and song writer.

Rihanna, Chris Brown Collaborations Confirmed, Informally Released

Last week, news surfaced of Chris Brown possibly collaborating on a new Rihanna track, “Birthday Cake.” Although no one said the news outright, remix producers Da Internz hinted at it. In describing the extended version of “Birthday Cake” (the original is a mere 78 seconds), the duo mentioned a “shocking” surprise guest, which many surmised to be Brown, although neither he nor Rihanna officially confirmed it.

MissInfo.tv went a bit further, getting confirmation from two independent sources. At the time, Brown was reported to be singing one verse and rapping another on the “Birthday Cake” remix. After the news broke, Rihanna allegedly shelved the track – contrary to Da Internz stating “Birthday Cake” would appear this week.

Both artists, however, unofficially verified their collaboration through Twitter, with Brown even hinting Rihanna is appearing on a remix of his recent single “Turn Up The Music.” Rihanna wrote: “They can say whatever, Ima do whatever... No pain is forever <-----YUP! YOU KNOW THIS”

Chris Brown then replied: “Let them be mad!!!! We make music. Don’t like it, don’t listen! Turn up the music remix is coming soon too! Guess who’s on it?”

At the end of the day yesterday, both collaborations surfaced – but unofficially. As Rihanna was celebrating her 24^th birthday on February 20, Chris Brown tweeted a link to their “Birthday Cake” collaboration. Afterwards, he wished the “We Found Love” singer a happy birthday. In response, Rihanna tweeted the remix of “Turn Up The Music” featuring her vocals.
