Since this blog was created, an increasing number of Kluesner family members have joined Facebook. Many members in our family are also members of a special KTTF group on Facebook.

There we trade photos and videos related to family events, organize the next float trip, and there’s even a list of Tonka Masters from the past. Now that this group exists on Facebook, it can replicate many of the functions which this blog was intended to serve. Better yet, all of our family members can contribute to the group, much as our email list enables us to share links and pictures.

If you haven’t already sign-up for Facebook today and catch up with your friends and family, and feel free to join us in the Kluesner Tonka Truck Float group.

Update: Facebook has since changed how groups work, so we’ve set up a new KTTF Page on Facebook. So let everyone else know you “Like” floating with the Kluesners and be sure to tell your friends on Facebook.

As in, two more perspective dates for the float trip. It turn out there may be some problems with the first suggested date for the float trip. Jamie wants to propose the following two dates in July:

July 19th,
or July 26th

It might help to compare to your own schedule by importing the family calendar on Google that we made. Are you available either weekend? Jamie said “I need some feed back from EVERYONE!!! Please let me know.” We’ll keep you updated here.

You are invited to Gary & Doug’s Second Annual Cinco De Mayo (on the 10th) Extravaganza.

It was such a great time last year we decided to do it again! Had to compromise on the date, but figured 5 days late is better than not at all Join us for margaritas, sangrias, beer and food by the pool! There will be lots of dancing, and by dancing we mean DRINKING!

Another Way to Save the Date

Sometimes it can be difficult to coordinate dates between us, and long e-mail lists of replies pile up abotu who can do what and when (if at all). For example, recently everyone seems to have plans on two proposed dates for Mary Ann’s dance party (SHHHH!).

So instead of making a long list of replies, I created a public group calendar for the family on Google. We could make it a page of it’s own when we make the group site. Better yet, you can integrate other people’s calendars into your own to figure out when you both have gaps in your schedule. If that sounds confusing, it really isn’t – try it for yourself.

Hockey game

We’re getting pretty excited about the hockey game many members of the KTTF extended family are going to this upcoming Saturday. So to celebrate this upcoming contest of the St. Louis Blues against the San Jose Sharks, I thought it’d be fun to relive one of the game’s greatest moments.

Wait for it….an all team brawl! Here for your viewing pleasure, is a rare goalie fight some of you might remember.

Because kttf.com and theborg.com are already taken, Scott Resnik was kind enough to look up some other possible domains. So instead of trying to keep count by scrolling down through a list of e-mails, I took some of the internet addresses he thought of and made a poll out of them. If you have another domain suggestion you could leave a comment for our consideration as well.

The first proposed date for the Float Trip this year, according to current Master Tonka Owner Jamie Kluesner:

Saturday June 28th – Sunday June 29th, 2008.

Of course you’ll want to arrive to camp the first Friday night before we float. Does anyone think we should make a Google calendar of family events, like this one which could be added as a page on the site? Feel free to leave a comment about what date works best for you, or what river you think we should float on.

For a few years now we’ve been using e-mail to keep each other updated. Well, what if instead of posting links when we can’t tell if works safe or reply in long threads of e-mails when we can keep it all organized in one place. Welcome to KTTF blog, where we can all trade links the new old fashioned way.

To start us off, I created a FlickR photo pool to help put our pictures together in a way that is comprehensible. Check it out and contribute photos of your own if you’d like (the photo above is linked as well).
