About a year ago, my lovely friend Alice Hu and I were working on a boudoir shoot together and chatting about how we love boudoir but it's rare you see the editorial feel that both of us love! Right then we looked at each other and said we should do it!!!! We worked feverishly for the next couple weeks creating this fabulous boudoir business that caters to the fashion forward, confident, edgy, feminine woman! Ta Da!!!!!! Femina was born!! Since then we have been creating the most fun, out the box shoots for our clients and we couldn't be more smitten! Alice shooting and myself on the dolling up end we are quite the fabulous pair if I do say so myself! Some of our faves!

Katie and Garreth-Engaged!!

Katie and Garreth are tying the knot early 2013 and I was honored to be a part of their engagement shoot with Tyler Branch! Katie is bubbly and sweet and gushed about Garreth as I dolled her up! One of the most fun parts of working in this business is hearing all the engagement stories and how each couple met! You can tell a lot about a couple by the way they got engaged! Katie envisioned soft messy curls with natural earth toned makeup. GORG!! I adored getting to know Katie and am so excited to share some of their gorgeous pics!!

I met Ally on the big day! She lives on the east coast and we weren't able to get her in for a trial run! She is the sweetest ever and was so easy to work with! She envisioned soft, natural makeup and relaxed curls for hair. She is amazingly gorgeous and needed close to nothing to enhance her natural beauty! I also dolled up her beautiful mother and grandma. I absolutely adore the classic and romantic old hollywood feel of the Hotel Del and think it was the perfect backdrop for Ally's amazing and intimate wedding! Morgan is the sis of Whitney our gush worthy bride from a while back! She is absolutely breathtaking!!!! You can't make these girls look bad!!! From the second I met the Patterson family a few years back I knew they were something special! They are funny, kind and warm!! I obsessed over the wedding details of these weddings for weeks after their big days! Morgan, very different than sis Whitney wanted clean, classic with a little modern mixed in for her wedding inspiration! She chose metallics, black and white and it was heaven!!!!!! We created a soft and clean look for makeup using golds on eyes with soft cheeks and lips. She envisioned upswept loose hair. I die for her look! She looked incredible! I'm obsessing over the images from her wedding!!!! AMAZING!!

This post is very overdue but I think it's good timing....my lovely sister and brother in law Krsitin and Jeff are expecting their first little bundle this week and so only appropriate to showcase their wedding from early last year! We all were introduced to Jeff at Erik and my wedding in 2007 and we all loved him from the get go! He is 100% fun all the time! His laugh is infectious and he and Kristin are the perfect match! Jeff's family is from Santa Maria so they decided to have their big day there! We rang in 2011 with the "Wedding Olympics", super yummy rehersal dinner and then their big day! It was a blast! I was preggers with Peyton at the time and Capri had just turned two! It was a fabulous family vacay and I was honored to doll up the beautiful bride! Kristin envisioned soft,swept back hair and a little more drama on the eyes. Her hair was on the shorter end so we opted to add in some extensions to give the fullness it needed. I loved the way she looked!

To say that Jacqueline and her family are absolutely lovely is the understatement of the year! I first met Jacqueline,her sis and her mom at the studio for her trial run! She envisioned soft, natural makeup and classic, romantic hair. Jacqueline is gorgeous and needed virtually nothing to bring out her beauty! They were all feminine and beautiful both inside and out! The wedding was full of love and the most beautiful feminine and classic details! Fresh whites, with soft taupes and pinks added just the perfect touch against the amazing grounds of The Montage! I loved every moment of their wedding! Congrats Jacqueline and Michael! I hope you are blessed over and over again in your marriage and life together!!

Tanya contacted me about a month from her big day and I was thrilled to be able to be a part of it! One of her bridesmaids Katie, was a future bride and past bridesmaid of mine. Tanya lives on the East coast so we went without a trial run. She was the sweetest most lovely bride! Her wedding was all things fabulous!!! We dolled her and her wedding party up at the Fess Parker, Santa Barbara. Sun was shining and the day was heaven! Tanya envisioned dewy, fresh skin and a little more drama on eyes. Over the past couple years, I've had the pleasure of dolling up Katie for multiple weddings. We first met when she was bridesmaid for one of my past brides Andrea. Early last year, I was able to pretty her for another past bride Tanya and then her big day came!!!!! We started the year with their super sexy and chic engagement pics! I was so excited when she said she was dreaming of a ballet bun and dewy skin! She is a vision as is and this was an incredible look on her! Gavin and Katie live in New York and are the cutest couple ever! They tied the knot at this amazing private estate in Palm Springs. It was AMAZING!!

Little did we both know when meeting at Sarah's trial run that we knew most all of the same people from college! Sarah was referred to me by her fabulous photographer Stephanie Trachy and we had no clue how much our paths must have crossed! Sarah played waterpolo at Long Beach state and she and one of her bridesmaids lived blocks from my hubby who played was on the men's team! When it came to the wedding day, we felt like old friends and I had a blast remember silly things about college with her bridesmaid Emily. We had so much fun! To say Shaina looked dreamy on her wedding day is a total understatement! She is just one of the most lovely, kind and classic brides of 2011! Shaina works and lives in New York so we worked out some of her timing around when she was going to be in California. We squeezed in her adorable "Up" themed engagement shoot in the earlier part of the year! She wanted to look soft and feminine on the big day and I think we nailed it! I knew from the start this wedding was going to be special....Shaina along with our original emails was a video of how Andrew proposed...I cried! They are so in love and so perfectly matched! Shaina loves hummingbirds and believes they are good luck! We saw hummingbird after hummingbird the day of her wedding and whenever I see them I think of her!! Huge congrats to incredibly lovely Shaina and Andrew!!!
