The club will take place every two weeks and will feature a range of DJs playing many different styles of music as well as occasional live music. The aim is to have two to three DJs per night - a guest, a 'newbie' and a regular.

The music we'll be playing will be broad and accessible, so if you think you fit into that fairly open description and you are interested in joining in, please get in touch (mark.roberts[at]magneetti.org).

UPDATE: OK, so I'm not sure what's going to happen with this... The main reason for this was a lack of music submissions from artists. The secondary reason, which was largely due to the first, was my disillusionment with the whole idea. The third reason was a lack of funding and the considerable unpaid work needed to make the show. The fourth reason was that there weren't enough listeners.

So all in all I stopped making them because it started to be more of a hassle than a pleasure.

But, if I get any comments or suggestions from people interested in the Kaiku podcast continuing in some form or another, I'll be happy to get things moving again.

Kaiku might also return as a series of gigs or mini-festivals at some point in the future. Now I have an artist grant for a year so I'm more willing to spend time on activities like this because I don't have to worry so much about where the money for the mortgage is going to come from!

M

Kaiku Podcast #6

Listen to Kaiku Podcast #6

Kaiku Podcast #6 comes a little late again but makes up for it with some delicious music from Finland and Estonia.

Track list and links:
Mr. Delicious a.k.a. We should be back ontrack in a week or two.

In other news, the Kaiku Podcast will be expanding to cover a larger area of Northern Europe. The amount of submissions form artists in the circumpolar north has not been high enough for me to warrant basing the show entirely on the northernmost regions. I'll still give priority to artists from the arctic north, but I'll now extend the welcome also to people from southern Finland, Norway and Sweden, and also to artists from 'west of the Urals' Russia. Anyone in Iceland is also welcome to get in touch.

Kaiku Christmas Podcast

Listen to the special Xmas edition of the Kaiku Podcast

Merry Christmas (a.k.a.
