AUBREY :: ONE

2014-11-09T16:10:00.003-08:00

I can't believe how fast a year goes. This little niece of mine is almost 1!!! And with setting up my own little nursery I have discovered it makes a pretty good studio...for the next 3 weeks ;)

Happy (almost) first Birthday Miss Aubrey! We love you! xoxo

And a little sneak at what I like to call the PERFECT Christmas card...giggle.

BABY :: Z

2014-09-27T15:01:00.000-07:00

I think it's safe to say that I've taken a step back from my photography this year. While I love taking photos, I just didn't have the energy to push my business, and sitting infront of a computer just wasn't a priority. I gave my all to teaching full time and being mama and wife. If you were trying to get a hold of me for photos...I am sorry! I was MIA! I'm still trying to balance all the things I love in life. I'll get there one day (I hope).

NOW I'm playing a bit of catch-up. I have personal photos sitting on memory cards (like years back!) and I have only printed 2 months worth of my daughters life...and she's just about 3! On the brighter side of things, I think I have finally found a way to "scrapbook" our lives. On the Scary side, Baby 2 is due in 9 weeks!!! so here we go. I'm spending this beautiful day trying to catch-up a bit.

I KNOW I KNOW...It's about time I posted some photos of this little peanut. He belongs to one of my dearest friends and is getting bigger by the minute. So before he's a toddler, here's a look at him fairly fresh. I'm loving the dreamy black and whites lately :)

We love you baby Z.

Family #3 from this session is finally done. I love how each family really is unique and lovely in their own little way.

Family Number 2 is ready to go...Aren't they beautiful?!?

I absolutely love the feeling in these photos...one of the challenges was to somehow make each set of families a bit different from one another. There's a certain softness in these photos that I am loving.

Enjoy

RAIN RAIN GO AWAY...phewf.

Here's part 1 of a gigantic family session...only 3 more families to go! BUT, if you know me at all, you know I have ants in my pants and literally can't wait to see what sort of things happened in front of my lens. I swear its like I have memory loss. So, leave it to me to stay up WAY past my precious bed time to download, convert and edit...just one more (the little voice inside my head says-which I choose to ignore). I was feeling it today. But I'm so happy to get family 1 up and posted.

ENJOY

BABY A

My first niece...born December 12th and what a beauty.

Baby #3 is on it's way!!!

Look familiar?
giggle...you guessed it...they've done it again!
Baby #3 is on it's way!

So here we are in the land of snowfall and children...each photo was taken with my child attached to me...so needless to say this shoot lasted all of 15 min. With ice frozen fingers, rosy cheeks and winey kids we just needed of few before baby 3 pops out. And why not make it a family affair :) Tis the season.

Family of 10

2013-10-06T15:18:00.003-07:00

~FAMILY~
As thanksgiving approaches I give thanks to the wonderful families that choose ME to photograph them. And as my nerves try to consume me through my shoots, I am granted by the love that surrounds. I am a busy girl these days but am loving the few shoot I choose to do. And I am also grateful for your patience. I struggle with dwindling down photos and would love to edit all 300+, however time chooses otherwise. So thank you. You have a fabulous family...Cherish them always.
xoxo

A few more SNEAKs

2013-08-22T15:51:00.002-07:00

While the little Miss was fast asleep today, this is what I worked on.

...and I've decided that these photos will probably not see one long blog post but rather a few small ones...cause each time I edit I just get super excited to share...giggle.

This is why I fight through the nerves and doubts...when I find images like these I'm like a kid on Christmas morning...I only hope my clients feel it too ;)

why not have a dance party?!?

sweet family of 3 :: sneak

A little Monday night session sneak.

Summer NIGHTS

2013-07-25T21:00:00.000-07:00

The Miss and I had a good day at the beach with the cousins...when it HIT me...summer is GOING GOING almost GONE!!! ARGH I haven't taken out my camera nearly enough and there is definitely not enough beach/relaxation time happening over here. SO. More beach. More peaceful Nights without the TV. More family time. More adventure. More CAMERA.

So tonight while in the backyard watering and picking raspberries I thought...GO GET YOUR CAMERA YOU CRAZY!!! This little girl is growing up way to fast!

So yup a personal post but boy she is just so darn cute how could I possibly help myself (insert proud mama smile)

Priya :: BABY

2013-07-15T20:52:00.001-07:00

Here we go...Sweet baby PRIYA.

          First of all, ahhhh, it was so great getting out behind my camera. IT has been TOO long! I love it when I get to go out and shoot these lifestyle sessions. They can be challenging yes, but patiences is a virtue ;) There are no fancy props or posing, and baby and mom are both settled (for the most part) into their new lives. However, I do come in (usually for a few hours) and disrupt things just a teeny tiny bit. But gorgeous shots of babe with a sweet smile and bright eyes is totally worth it.
        Second, there is absolutely nothing better than when clients continue to book me for all their major life milestones. I am so thankful to Sheri and Kristen. I was there for their wedding, a 30th Birthday celebration and to photograph their first, little Sanjay.
        Now (less than 2 years after their first) came along little Priya. She has the sweetest name and is already gorgeous. Here she is at 9 weeks old.

Big brother Sanjay

Getting a shot of these 2 was near impossible.

Easter 13

Just a few quick shots of our Easter Day!

2013-03-16T09:32:00.001-07:00

I haven't blogged in a while and I'm feeling the need for some playfulness. So here are some random thoughts that are festering in mind.

Easter is on its way.

1st SNOW day!

2012-11-12T19:54:00.000-08:00

These days my photography is a little less about snapping the PERFECT pic. If you have a little one on the move it's really just taking what you can get! HA!

Much to My surprise, we woke up this morning to a beautiful blanket of snow. AND literally the day before, Emmerson's Grandma took her shopping for her very first snow suit! SO, as dad was shoveling the driveway we headed on out for a first touch of snow.

The snow went straight into the mouth...and she loved it!

Did i mention we got a puppy! yup we're that crazy family with an 11 month old and a PUPPY!

Needless to say, LUCY enjoyed the snow too!

Pumpkin Patch

It's another first!

Welcome to the PUMPKIN PATCH.

Emmerson :: october

2012-10-26T13:25:00.002-07:00

Here we are....FALL! I can hardly believe it. September had us settling in to our new home and we are completely overjoyed with our home. I have also been back to work (Teaching On Call) which has been wonderful, busy, a bit bittersweet, but great. We are fortunate to have both sets of grandparents ready and willing to take on my sweet little girl.

By 9 months Emmerson had been taking her first steps and it wasn't long before she was fully walking. Remember back when I said she was one determined little girl? well i was right. Nothing stood in this girls way...quite literally. She goes right on over anything in her way. We have to keep and extra eye on her.

Now at 10 months she continues to amaze us!
Emmerson has...

1. figured out jumping on the bed
2. throws her ball to the ground to make it bounce
3. only 2 teeth...still
4. a love for banana, kiwi, and avocado
5. not slept through the night since 4 months
6. learned to dance and clap when she hears music
7. an obsession with Elmo singing with stars (OBSESSED with these videos, like Elmo and Adam Sandler, Katy Perry, Jason Meraz. No other videos will do, not even disney...it HAS to be ELMO, which brings me to...
8. an obsession with the IPAD. (YES YES i swore i wouldn't be THAT parent whose kid throws a tantrum with they don't get their electronics. BUT when the IPAD comes out you had better be playing and Elmo song...OR ELSE!
9. a love for the outdoors. She loves to explore and by expore i mean everything EVERYTHING in the mouth.

monthly updates :: behind :(

2012-09-23T21:53:00.001-07:00

so I'm a little behind on my monthly updates of my little one...just a little. I was trying to keep up to her monthly milestones but lack of Internet access, space and...time...has kept me behind. Nevertheless, many milestones have been hit, so here's a quick glance at the last few months. It's been a busy summer! Emmerson certainly keeps us on our toes and we finally have a house to call our own.

We made it to the pool and emmerson loves to swim...luckily oma and opa have a pool where she was getting lots and lots of practice.

Emmerson's second trip to Vancouver. And first time in court ha...we had to go to court in order to take possession of our home.

August was super exciting. Emmerson's first plane ride. We went to Saskatchewan to visit Emmerson's Great Grandpa. He was thrilled to see his only great grandchild at the cabin...the place he loves most!

We are finally settled in our new home. Freshly painted walls makes for a lovely background.

Stay tuned...EMMERSON IS WALKING!

mike + michelle

2012-09-20T17:17:00.001-07:00

it was a day of love...

felt between friends, family, husband and wife.

i was so lucky to be apart of it all.

Michelle and Mike have been together for, well let's just say a FEW years, and when mike popped the question the planning began! Everything that made this day special was a labour of love. Michelle planned such a beautiful day and with the help of friends and family she completely pulled it off.

When Michelle asked me to capture the day I was absolutely thrilled...mixed with a ball of nerves. I knew this was THE wedding to photograph! And with the abundance of wonderful photographers in the Okagangan I knew I had to up my game :) Michelle is one of my closest friends and I wanted to do her proud.

Get ready for the longest post of pictures EVER.

Love you Michelle and Mike...enjoy your memories! xoxo kailey
