Brick (MOVIE)

2010-09-01T18:02:00.000-07:00

imdb 7.5/10

this is one of my all time favors. Dialogs at the same level, like a Tarantino
or Kevin Smith. Great Thirller, in an Highschool setup.
expect more, than it sounds!

The lonely teenager Brendan finds his former girlfriend Emily dead in the entrance of a tunnel of sewage and recalls her phone call two days ago, when she said to him that she was in trouble. Brendan, who still loved Emily, met bad elements of his high-school trying to contact her, and when he succeeded, she told him that she was OK. He hides her body in the tunnel and decides to investigate the meaning and connection of four words, including "brick" and "pin", that Emily told him to find who killed her. Using the support of his nerd friend Brain, he successively meets the small time drug dealers Kara, Dode, Brad Bramish, Laura and Tugger, to reach the teenager powerful drug dealer The Pin. Slowly, Brendan unravels the motives why Emily was killed and plots a revenge. Written by Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

imdb 7,3/10

Broken Flowers is a 2005 French/American comedy-drama film written and directed by Jim Jarmusch and produced by Jon Kilik and Stacey Smith. The film focuses on an aging "Don Juan" who embarks on a cross-country journey to track down four of his former lovers after receiving an anonymous letter stating that he has a 19-year-old son. The film stars Bill Murray, Jeffrey Wright, Sharon Stone, Frances Conroy, Jessica Lange, Tilda Swinton, Julie Delpy, Chloë Sevigny, and Mark Webber.

As the devoutly single Don Johnston is dumped by his latest girlfriend, he receives an anonymous pink letter informing him that he has a son who may be looking for him. The situation causes Don to examine his relationships with women instead of moving on to the next one, and he embarks on a cross-country search for his old flames who might possess clues to the mystery at hand.

A Single Man

2010-08-29T13:08:00.000-07:00

imdb******** 7.7/10
me ******** 8.0/10

A story that centers on an English professor who, after the sudden death of his partner tries to go about his typical day in Los Angeles.

"George wakes and Christopher's celebrated camera eye follows him. What Isherwood has caught with extreme brilliance is the texture of life itself in George's person... Wry, suddenly manic, constantly funny, surprisingly sad, this short novel perfects exactly those techniques which made for Isherwood his early reputation." -- Alan Pryce-Jones, Book Week --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

this movie is definitive worth a look. camera, colors, music, cuts, are just awe...wait fot it... some.
the single man george, an intelligent and cool character has a aweseome frame, with always the right words on his lips.
