With these layouts they were a bit more specified then the A4 layouts, as I had to design them within a grid however I was able to use a wider range of magazines. My favourite layout was the bottom one as I like how the subheading crosses through the body text. I think they both would look better if the titles and the intro text were closer to everything else.

Cutting out different types of text from the Radio times, I simply designed 3 sets of 3 layouts ranging from the simplest, then a little more complex and even more complex. I wanted to experiment with the text at angles and how I can make certain text stands out from the rest.

Here are some more thumbnails and a thumbnail of my hello and welcome spread. The ideas behind this was to direct hello & welcome to people of all nationality by including different ways of saying hello.

Here are some more thumbnail spread designs. at this pointed I decided to choose the thumbnail above as I felt it had the most potential.

My final front cover design. I altered the letter O to make it look like it was the sun on the horizon.

This is my final design for my hello and welcome page. Originally the different hellos where gonna be in speech bubble however during the designing stage I thought it was too dominant and difficult to balance on the spread with the rest of the context.

My Final DPS Design For My 'Zine'

These are the top 4 designs that I liked so i redraw them and tided them up. I decided to mock up the top n bottom left on indesign

1st idea draft : I like how the the images have came out in really high quality however I feel my title doesn't need to be bold and a few things could be aligned better

2nd idea draft: I feel that there is a too much empty space and everything is too compact. also I feel that I can do something about the image as it is being distorted by the spine

1st idea 2nd draft: Here I have made changes to the alignments of body text, images and title. I've also changed the tracking of the body text to 10 and changed the title from a bold Garamond to a regular Baskerville

2nd idea 2nd Draft: I have used up a good amount of that empty space creating a balance between space and text. Overall I like this design as it's clean, legible and i love how detailed my photos have come out.
This design will become my final outcome.
