Day 1 - Kamryn Summer Vacation with Daddy 6/4/2011

2011-06-04T23:47:00.000-07:00

Today, Kamryn went to the Virginia Living Museum with Melody. Kamryn learnt about butterflies and how they change from a Caterpillar to a butterfly. They then went to the book store where Kamryn got a dress up doll book set. They then went to flo:Delite, a "frozen yogurt" store which just opened up in Hampton.

Kamryn painted this picture.

After I got home from work, me and Kamryn went over to Sheneka's house, where we woke her up and dragged her out to "Blackbeard Pirate Festival" in downtown Hampton. We hung out down there and walked around, then at 9, we watched fireworks. It was lots of fun. Kamryn's favorite part was when the fireworks "rained" off the bridge".

Kamie riding scooter at Buckroe

2010-03-12T20:11:00.000-08:00

Kamie and I went to Buckroe Beach for her to ride her scooter. First, we got out icy pops and went to sit on the beach and have icy pops. It was hot, so they were melting pretty fast, and it became pretty messy. We went to the water shower to wash off our hands, but the water was turned off, so we had to go back to the car to use hand sanitizer to wash out hands.

We then went riding. When the road was rough, I pushed her until we got to the smooth part. She was having fun riding her scooter. We played tag, so she would rider her scooter and try to catch me. We went on the pier and I sat down and watched her play. After she had enough, we went to the children play ground. She eventually found a little girl to play with and she started running all over the place with her. The little girl had 2 older girls (maybe her sisters), so they were pushing them on the swings, playing with them. She was having lots of fun, but then it started getting cold when a dark cloud came and covered the sun, so I decided to go home. She didn't want to leave. When we got home, we had dinner, then she wanted to go outside again, so I took her outside to blow bubbles.

We stayed up pretty late that night, because Sheneka was returning from her trip to visit Dane for Spring Break in NY. We went to pick her up at 12 midnight.

Sunday we stayed inside. We watched TV, Kamie played her simulation computer game and listened to music.

I have quite an extensive collection of kids music, so I want her to listen to them more so she can learn more children songs, nursery rhymes, and such. I keep it playing most times. She loves them.

Here are some pictures from the weekend. AS ALWAYS, you can click on the picture to see the full album.

I made this into a "catoony" picture. I call it "Zooming Kamie"

Kamie wanted me to make funny faces, while she took my picture.

Kamie and Shen at Hampton U Waterfront & at home

2010-01-24T19:38:00.000-08:00

Kamie had a Dora puzzle she was working on. At times she got frustrated, but she was pretty happy when she finally figured out everything and put the puzzle together. She spent one weekend doing that.

She always love water, so as usual, she was excited to go by the water when we went to visit Shen. It was chilly, but she was happy anyway.

Sanjay's Birthday

2009-11-09T09:59:00.001-08:00

Kamie came for Sanjay's birthday this weekend along with Shen. It was a good weekend. Someone was joking that she is a computer junkie like me. She really is almost fully proficient in using the computer and she plays a lot of computer learning games. I customized google chrome browser so that the home page would just have different children's websites, so she could just click home, and click on any that she liked. All she needs to do now is to learn to type, and she will be all set.

On Sunday, when we got Sanjay's birthday cake, she was watching videos online. I kept calling her to come (so she can light the candles), but she didnt want to stop. I wait for that video she was watching to finish, then I went and grabbed her up. She was struggling to go back, but when she got into the kitchen and saw the cake, her eyes light up. She immediately became excited. Kamie and Shen stayed and lit the candles. Shen then brought the cake in to Sanjay, in the room, but I had not set up the camera yet. I went and set up the camera and brought out the cake with wine glasses. We sung happy birthday to Sanjay and he blew out the candles. We ate dinner of curry chicken before having the cake. It was lots of fun. We took lots of pictures. Kamie, as usual always love to take the pictures, so she used the remote. We had variety pack cheese cake. It was so yummy. Kamie ate her dinner without hesitation. I told her that we would have cake only after eating off dinner. It is the first I see her eat so quickly. She normally takes long to eat. I guess that runs in the family because that is how we all were when we were growing up.

UPDATE:
Well, here are pictures from Sanjay's Birthday party with all of us.

Kamie Flu

2009-10-30T10:04:00.000-07:00

Kamie has been down with the Flu since Saturday Oct 24th. She had to miss school for 4 days. She was okay during the time once she took her medicine, but once the medicine wears out, her fever came back. She recovered on Thursday and got to start back school on Friday.

She is really smart with the computer. She knows how to use everything on it, and anything I show her once, she remembers. I have a extra laptop that I allowed her to use. She knows how to start up the computer and open up the web browser by clicking the start menu and clicking to open Google Chrome. I set the website that I allow her to go on as the home page, so she can go on and play learning games. She really enjoy it. I need to find more websites which are kids friendly. She has known how to use youtube for about 1/2 year now, but I realized that youtube is not very kid-friendly. I need to find a better website with videos for kids.

Kamie's Birthday Party

2009-10-09T06:56:00.001-07:00

Kamie had her birthday party at Pizza Hut in VA beach. She was happy at first, but then it seem like she got tired, because she seemed sleepy. She LOVED her Dora cake though, and as always love opening up presents afterwards. I got her a scooter. She loved riding it.

As always, click on the picture to go to see ALL the pictures.

Kamie's 4th Birthday

2009-10-04T15:34:00.000-07:00

For Kamie's 4th birthday, we went to Chucky Cheese. We had a blast. She played all the games and was definitely smarter since the last time we went to Chucky Cheese. We had a lot of fun and she went around and tired everything. She even drove the car games, and was not that bad at driving. SHe still drives like a 4 year old, but I can tell that she is way smarter now.

I did not give her the presents because her mom wanted them to be saved for her birthday party on saturday, but I wanted her to have something to play with, so I gave her the "hop ball" that I got for her. She hopped on it and had a great time. At first, she would fall off, but pretty soon, she got the hang of it. It was a lot of fun.

Hopping on the HOp ball.

Kamie is about to start school!!!

2009-08-21T08:21:00.000-07:00

Kamie is about to start school! I am pretty excited! She might have to change daycares though, because the school bus does deliver to her daycare. I hate when she have to change daycares, because she has been changing too much recently. She got settled into this one and I REALLY like them. They give a note at the end of every day explaining exactly what she did that day and what they are doing the next day. She is finally at a daycare that I really like how they teach her.

Last week, we went jetsking, she had a blast. She didnt want to come back. I LOVE how she loves water too. We went in Norfolk. It was my first time at that ramp, but I really like the setup. There are lots of boats and other jetskis there, so I felt safe if something were to happen. We rode far out, but keeping the speed down, since she was on it. We rode over to the tunnel, rode to the Norfolk Naval base to look on the battle ships, rode all over. It was so much fun. We came back and started doing tricks. She loves when the water sprays. She is such a adventure junkie too.

We went kite flying on Wednesday at Mt Trashmore in VA Beach. It was a lot of fun. She loves flying the kite.

I have a ton of pictures I need to put up and a few videos as well.

Father's day

2009-06-21T20:22:00.000-07:00

Today, Kamie wanted to go outside and play ball. I think she learned to catch now. Before, every time I throw the ball she would only catch it when I am lucky enough for it to not fall through her hands or bounce out, but she went on a roll catching it most of the time. It was a foot ball sized beach ball, so hopefully with some more practice she can learn to catch better and more eye control watching the ball when it comes to her.
The best time was when, we came back inside and got icey pops and went back outside and sat on the curb at the back of my apartment sucking it in the shade. It was so much fun to just sit there relaxing and enjoying the breeze. It reminds me if the days me and my cousins would sit in a tree and just talk, enjoying the breeze over looking the river. This was my very first relaxing day since summer started. Today was just fun and relaxing. I still have to figure out how to get Kamie to eat. WHen she eats, she doesnt eat a lot, and when she is hungry, she is just SUPER miserable, and want to cry for everything. Man, its hard work figuring her out.
