As you know, I recently just started playing games on my iPod Touch. It was a bit of a pain in the ass, as I tried to buy an iTunes card - but as some of you know, you cannot (for whatever stupid copyright reasons) cannot use an iTunes card to buy Apps, from the Apple App Store.

Fortunately, they gave me a refund and sent a cheque to me. I thought that was very surprising and was willing to chalk the $15 up as an experience.

Fortunately, I didn't completely right off iPod as a viable gaming platform, and serveral weeks later bought myself a prepaid Visa gift card, to buy myself some applications.

One (of the many) games that I purchased was Minigore. Minigore, if you have not heard of it, is one of the many twin stick bullet hell shooters, in which you play a character named John Gore and have unlimited bullets and are constantly being swarmed from every direction by wierd little brown characters called "Furries"

The shoot-out takes place in Hardland Forest, a place that I can only hope is ficticious, and there is no real back story as to where these monsters come from, or why they are attacking you.

That doesnt matter though because everyone loves killing beasts, especially when they are attacking you.

It follows a level up type of process in that the more you kill, the faster and harder they come. To boot, as you continue on, the furries get bigger and bigger, and those furries explode and turn into small ones when you shoot them, creating a progressively more relentless assault.

It does not take long before you end up with a circle of furries surronding another circle of furries , surrounding yourself with your machine gun at full tilt trying to blast a path to freedom.

Your reward for sucessfully killing beasts is points mostly, but you get some sweet powerups too. You'll notice Johhny G is firing buckshot in the picture about, which is one of the power ups you can get. One of the others being a grenade launcher, and obviously when you eat 3 four-leaved clovers you turn into a rampaging minotaur for 5 seconds.

You can also double up and rock double shotty's, double grens or mix and match. Unfortunately, there is no double rampaging minotaur that I have been able to discover.

The game design itself is rather simplistic, the only difference in the level being with snow, or without snow.

There is a wack of different characters to choose from. Some favourites of mine are Santa, Hook Champ Guy and Zombieville USA Guy. There is a bunch of cross game tie-ins in there, and as well as some original characters.

The reason this game is so addictive for me is because of the OpenFeint achievements. OpenFeint is tied into my facebook as well, so I get to fill up all my friend's newsfeeds about useless shit that I have accomplished in this (and other games); which gives me great satisfaction.

This game is amazing, and for the life of me don't understand why its so cheap. It seems like everything on the iPhone is so cheap. I love it to death.

I am so much in love my my iPod Touch. I just started gaming on it recently, and there are so many good games. I'm thinking about maybe doing a switch up from a retro gaming blog (which I don't even really use anymore) to blogging about iPhone games and such. Just tossing some ideas around in my head right now. Reviews and the like. We will have to see how it pans out. I dont know if I am going to be able to pull myself away from it long enough to blog about it.

I really should probably pick one of these up. I wanted a Dingoo A320 so bad about 6 months ago, and then it just completely slipped out of my mind.
I have not looked into if people have been able to get homebrew running on the PSPgo!, but I'd rather use that, as then I could play on my tv, using a PS3 controller.
I should probably look into it.

Half Life and Half Life 2 are most definitely some of the best games I have ever played. I've been debating picking this up for quite a while now, as I've seen it for as little as $10!

This review reminded me how good a game it really is, and while I may not even play HL2 again - maybe I will play Episode 1 and 2, which he is going to review next.

Like arcade cabinets themselves, sometimes the arcades where you play the games can be a work of art too. Take this Japanese arcade in Kawasaki which features eight stories of arcade goodness for those ages 18+ up. It’s entire theme is based off of “the backstreets of China” and reportedly feels much like walking into a place you would see in the game Silent Hill.

I am pretty sure that the theme alone would attract gamers of all kinds to this place but the sheer size of it is also something to behold. In my own dreams/plans for my arcade of the future I have hoped to evolve into something that would take up two stories but eight? Wow.

One thing that seems to be a reoccurring theme here is the quality Nintendo games that were released. I had a Genesis, as did most of my friends because it was the cool thing to own at the time (and the sports games were better) so I missed out on a lot of these games the first time around. Fortunately, now - I am basically 12 years old in my mind still and I am slowly catching up (I think?)

Final Fantasy IV is my favourite FF and the music is one of the best parts of it. Nice choice.

I've never played Super Smash TV but it sure sounds like it rocks.

Keeping in topic with my favourite FF being IV, I also think A Link to the Past is my favourite Zelda; damndest thing though - I've never beaten it.

Never even heard of UN Squad until just now. Looks like any regular old shooter though. Got some good tunes cutting up though.

Street Fighter. That is all.

I dont think I have ever played a single Disney game on SNES, but judging by people's comments about them - I probably should've.

I don't ever remember hearing that song in Super Mario Kart? Its been a while, so maybe I am crazy - but, where is it? Rainbow Road? Maybe I am confusing it with the N64 version?

Lufia is another game that has an aura around it, and a big following that I've never had time to play. I wish there was more time in the day for video games!

I did not enjoy the Soul Blazer music; at all. I was glad when it finished,.

Pocky and Rocky on the other hand....
Any game that shares a name with one of my favourite snacks is a-ok with me.

Well, thats really too bad. I loved the concept behind the game, and was actually kind of looking forward to this game. I wasn't going to run out and spend $70 on it; but I probably would've picked it up when it dropped to $30.

I wont even spend that after watching this review.
