Baby Bird Baby Sprinkle

Tweet tweet. A little bird is here today to show you the cutest BABY BIRD BABY SPRINKLE submitted by Kate Petronis of And Everything Sweet. This party would be a perfect TWEET Heart Valentine’s party, too!

Here is what Kate said about the party- "My sweet friend Katie is pregnant with her third child and due any minute now. Myself and four friends who love Katie to pieces put together this darling bird themed shower to celebrate the newest member of her family and "feather her nest". :)

Isn't this the cutest dang "E" you've ever seen? I hate to brag, but its not often that I see the letter E and say "awwwwwww", but after I made this I whispered a long one. ;) This was one of many DIY projects from this party. Easy peezy...just get yerself a paper mache letter from the craft store and wrap it in yarn...round and round and round until you're done. I embellished with felt birds and felt roses. I'm sure there is a tutorial online somewhere...I just kinda winged it, but I think it turned out pretty cute. (shower decorations/baby nursery decor afterwards...gotta love those two-fer deals!)

Another little DIY project, this wreath was so cute and fun to make and will make a great decoration for Emily's nursery room door. Big thank you to my Cricut machine for cutting out the the letters and thank you to all the wooden doll tutorials I found all over the internet for this one. :)

For drinks we served pink lemonade in mason jars and of course, bottled water. Are you loving the fabric labels? I used leftover fabric from the dessert table (which by the way was $1.50/yard at Walmart!!!...these labels practically paid ME to decorate the water). I just love how I justify all these little expenses...hehe

We set up a clip making station so that each guest could make a little hair clip for baby Emily. I created little instructions for each "step" to help guide everyone through the clip making process. I put out ribbon and clips and each guest covered their own clip w/their ribbon of choice. Then they chose an embellishment to make it pretty. There were buttons, bows, fabric flowers and more.

After food and bow making we sat down to play a quick game of memory (baby themed). This game was so much fun to play. I found the idea and instructions to make the game here. Erica and Ashly did a great job putting it all together for us.

The basic idea of the game is a matching game...when you get a match you get a candy prize based on the match you made. For example...when you find the match to "contractions" you get a box of Whoppers. Epidural match gets the candy Lifesavers. I think you get the idea. Each guest was sent home with a little treat for their birds at home. These little bird seed ornament favors were not only cute, but totally inexpensive AND useful!! Our poor birds outside need all the food they can get in these harsh winter months (wait, wasn't the high today in the 60s? Whatever...not everyone lives in Atlanta.). Kite Themed 2nd Birthday Party

Come fly away with me as you look at this darling celebration. This KITE THEMED 2ND BIRTHDAY PARTY was submitted by Andressa Hara of Twinkle Twinkle Little Party.

Here is what Andressa said about her event- "The inspiration for this party came from a cute 3x3 kite frame I received from a very sweet couple as a baby shower gift when I was expecting Connor. I knew from that day I had to do something special with it considering I am a big fan of kites of all types and colors. It brings me back memories growing up in Brazil and having a brother who loved to fly kites out in the streets - good times with not too many distractions :)
I wanted to put together something very simple because all the little guests were younger than my little boy and I didn't want to overwhelm the little tots with so much sugar :)
The dessert table consisted of plain vanilla cupcakes, milk shooters for the parents, cake, candy jars filled with gumballs.
I designed:
1)Goody bag toppers "clouds" (cotton candy) , kite tails (sour belt) and sundrops(lemon drops).
2)Chocolate wrappers - I placed standard size Hershey's chocolate bar in Wilton's clear treat bags, wrapped the custom chocolate wrappers and tied the bags with a ribbon.
3)Tags for yellow treat bags I purchased at Michael's which they filled with candies to take home.
4)Bubble labels (Bubbles bought at Party City)
5)Water Labels

I also built kites and we had a kite decorating station for the little tots - glitter glue, stickers and mini pompoms.

I made party hats using textured scrapbook paper bought at Jo Ann's, embellished the hats using leftover ribbon and attached a 3D tag which said "Fligh High".
Fresh lemonade, juice pouches, ham and cheese sandwich, and pasta salad were served."

Princess 5th Birthday Party

It's time for another gorgeous princess party. This PRINCESS 5TH BIRTHDAY PARTY was submitted by Sriti Fusillo. Sriti not only chose to host a princess party for her daughter, but a tea party as well. Everything was put together so perfectly. Such a pretty party for a darling little girl.

Here is what Sriti wrote about the party-

“I did a Princess Tea Party for my daughter Sarina for her 5th birthday. I hand-made the invitations to look like tea bags which folded out and gave all the details for Princess Sarina's Birthday Tea. I hand made all the food except the cake, which was made by It's All About the Cake. We had Petite Fours with fondant tea pot toppers and pink blossoms, chocolate cupcake pops, yogurt parfaits, brownie bites with fondant dahlias, and sugar cookies. I also made Princess Punch (sherbert with ginger ale) and we had pink tea (pink lemonade). The table napkins were mismatched pieces of material I had that I sewed into napkins. The napkin rings are toilet paper rolls cut and then covered with ribbon and a rhinestone. I designed the chair backing and all the printables myself (I am a freelance graphic designer) and my husband hung a small chandelier over the table using fishing line. The girls had a hair and makeup statio n where they could get their hair and makeup done and a crafts table where they could make their own crowns and wands. The goody bags were felt bags that were filled with princess items (a charm bracelet with princess charms, jewelry erasers, princess pops and truffles in a gown box) that each of the girls got to take home along with their made crowns and wands."

Vintage Ballerina 3rd Birthday Party

This next party feature is absolutely stunning- A VINTAGE BALLERINA 3RD BIRTHDAY PARTY submitted by Jennifer Schattle of Jennifer Schattle Photography. The best part- only around $150 was spent to create it all!

Jennifer Wrote:

“Recently I worked with Jenifer Hill, owner of hello love designs, on a styled shoot for her son Ethan’s 9th birthday. And if that wasn’t fabulous enough … I was invited back to capture all of the amazing details for her daughter Ellah’s vintage ballerina themed 3rd birthday party.

I was completely smitten when Ellah greeted me at the door dressed in the cutest pink frilly tutu, accessorized with a vintage blingy brooch, sparkly top, ballerina shoes and a darling rosette headband. And not certain how Jen could possibly outdo the movie party … she blew me away with the attention to detail to make her little ballerina’s third birthday amazing!

Guests dined on oven baked ham and cheese sliders, chicken salad croissant sandwiches and homemade pig in the blankets. For dessert … Ellah’s dad Buster made her the most perfect ribbon birthday cake. It was GORGEOUS. There were also yummy powdered donuts, homemade raspberry muffins and vintage glass bowls filled with candy treats. I’m definitely having Jen and Buster plan my next birthday!”

Ellah's mom, Jenifer Hill (from hello love designs), wrote:

“My daughter, Ellah, has a love for ballerinas. When I was shopping at the Round Top/Warrenton Antiques Show in Round Top, Texas, I found a stash of vintage little ballerina prints. I purchased them for her room, and when she saw them, the gasp she took helped me to decide the theme of her 3rd birthday - a vintage ballerina.

The party:
I kept the party simple and the budget small. Not including the birthday girl's outfit, I spent a total of $150 on the entire party! I used alot of what I already owned and borrowed from my mom for styling. When the pint-sized party guests arrived, they were given a tutu to wear if they did not wear their own. Sorry boys, it was an all-girls party! The birthday party started out with a brunch where we served oven roasted ham and cheese sliders (as seen on Pinterest!), tiny dancer croissant sandwiches with chicken salad, pigs in the blanket, french toast, homemade raspberry muffins, powdered donuts and an assortment of fruit including watermelon, the birthday girl's favorite. We served orange juice, strawberry lemonade, and tea to drink. The 2-5 year old girls were given spill-proof cups I found on sale at Target. Those were a clean-up saver.

We took the party outside where the girls first decorated a ballerina coloring page and then made their own ballerina princess crowns with glittery foam stickers. Of course, the tutu-clad girls danced, twirled and plied across the backyard. I set up a mirror for them to watch as they danced around. Ellah had a very faded, vintage-y pink ribbon cake made by my husband. It was strawberry with a raspberry filling and oh, so delicious. Each ballerina received a favor bag and single stem rose as the party ended just like a prima ballerina receives at the end of her performance.

Ellah wore a tutu pettiskirt by Cheeky Chic Baby, top by Baby Gap, and shoes from Nordstrom. Her shoes were glittery, ballerina pink and the bow had a zipper edge - she loved them! Ellah also wore a vintage brooch on her tutu from my personal collection. Her gorgeous headband was ordered from Prim Couture Shop. The headband is as beautiful in person too!

The decor:
Pink was the obvious choice for a ballerina party, but I wanted to throw in other colors as well. I looked to the ballerina prints I'd purchased for the her room. I found turquoise in a couple of the prints. Turquoise has been a classic vintage color, looks adorable with pink, so I used it throughout the party. I spray painted unused frames I already had to frame the ballerina prints. I hung one at the cake table and the other two hung over the french doors leading into the party area. Since my daughter's name is Ellah Rose, I wanted to incorporate roses in to the decor. I fell in love with Cath Kidston's fabric which sparked the entire design for her birthday invitation and all the printable party accessories. I sell the vintage ballerina invitation and coordinating paper party accessories in my store! I asked my aunt of Kustom Kids of Kingwood to sew a pennant banner for the party, and I placed fabric flowers from Lemon Tree Studio at each end of the banner. The paper lanterns and all the paper goods were picked up at Party City. Perhaps my favorite purchase (besides the banner), was a vintage floral sheet from Eager Hands, that I used for the tablecloth. The print reminded me of my grandmother, so I snagged it for a great deal and the seller even threw in extra goodies like eyelet trim I used to trim the party hats. All of the vintage dishes I used were borrowed from my mother. The pieces displayed the candies, and I provided cupcake liners from Cupcake Social for guests to use for candy munching. All other decor were things I already owned keeping to my budget conscious party.

My favorite party moment was watching her blow out her birthday candles. I cry every birthday party thinking how much my children have grown and how fast my time with them goes. There are only so many years I will see them, as children, blowing out their candles before they're adults. I cherish it.”

Sesame Street 2nd Birthday Party

Today on Kara's Party Ideas- an incredible SESAME STREET THEMED 2ND BIRTHDAY PARTY submitted by Amber Lyden of Party On Designs! Can you tell me how to get...to this amazing party?! Oh. My. Goodness. Everything is just unbelievable!

-THEME: {Details told by MOM, Dana Nussbaum}

"Sesame Chic. My daughter loves Sesame Street (as most kids do), but I was desperate for a new spin on the theme and decided to do a party filled with “Sesame Chic”. J I thought the best way to incorporate the theme and really make it feel accessible and magical was to use the environment of Sesame Street as the backdrop of the party. My intention was for everyone at the party to really feel like they were on Sesame Street. We even replaced our street sign with a custom made one for the day!

-INVITES:
I always think the invites set the tone for the party so I wanted guests to know what they were in store for on Maddie’s 2nd birthday. Each guests received a box filled with miniature alphabet blocks, a Sesame Street figurine and a small board book which was custom designed to tell the story of a sunny day and give all of the details needed for the party. They were definitely unique and a fun way to get all of the little ones excited for Maddie’s big day!

-DÉCOR:
*Every table had a centerpiece featuring a plush Sesame Street character and a street sign with Madison’s name
*Every chair was graced with a custom designed chair backer with an M or a 2 and trailing primary colored ribbons
*The kids table was a favorite element – it featured brightly colored gumball machines filled with kid friendly snacks like puffs, fruit snacks and cheerios that kids could dispense themselves into brightly colored candy cups. Alphabet blocks were also scattered across the table for fun during mealtime!
*The walkway to the party featured signs alerting guests to “Sunny Days Ahead” and even a faux Subway sign directing guests to take either the “M” or “2” trains to Sesame Street
*Wooden props of characters like Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch set the tone for the party and really transformed the yard into Sesame Street
*At the end of the walkway was a beautiful photo posing booth designed by SEND IN THE CLOWNS and mirrored after the famous Sesame Street brownstone. Guests could pose in front of the brownstone for a Polaroid pic before entering the party
*Madison loves pinwheels so I filled all of our planters with brightly colored ones I found at Target – they gave such a fun pop of color to the party
*A giant elmo prop (5 feet tall!!) was the centerpiece of the backyard and was flanked by multicolored balloon bouquets

-ACTIVITIES:
*Each of the activities was inspired by one of the famous inhabitants of Sesame Street…
*Elmo’s Edible Beading (kids made their own edible necklaces using Fruit Loops and licorice strings)
*Cookie Monster’s Cookie Doh Creation Station (kids used glittery Play Doh and assorted cutters and rollers to make dough masterpieces)
*MADISON’S Lunchbox Decorating Center (kids used foam appliqués, Sesame Street characters, glitter glue and stickers to decorate their very own metal lunch box!)
*Abby & Zoe’s Dressing Room (The little ones got dressed up in Abby Cadabby headbands, tutus, Zoe’s jewelry and magic wands)
*Big Bird’s Seed Search (The kids sifted through tubs of birdseed to find treasures like jewelry, stickers and more!)
*Mr. Hooper’s Store (This was Madison’s favorite element of the party!! We customized a Melissa & Doug lemonade stand to turn it into “Hooper’s Store”. The shelves were stocked with kid favorites like bouncy balls, mini tambourines, crayons and coloring books. Every child got a pouch of play money so they could “buy” all of their favorite treats and place them in custom Mr. Hooper’s store shopping bags!)
*Picture Frame Decorating Station (Kids decorated photo frame keychains to display their Polaroid pics and remember their day on Sesame Street)
*Sesame Street Playhouses designed to look like landmarks from the famous street were scattered through the yard and filled with comfy red pillows so kids could take a break and just relax!

-DESSERTS:
*Desserts are always a big part of any family event and this was no exception! As with the rest of the party, I wanted the desserts to represent the characters / environment of Sesame Street.
-Bert & Ernie’s Celebration Krispies (Dipped rice krispy treats with colored sprinkles to match the incomparable duo
-Abby Cadabby’s Magic Pretzel Wands
-Zoe’s Candy Jewelry (Candy Necklaces, Bracelets and Ring Pops were strung along multicolored ribbons on a white Manzanita tree)
-Oscar’s Dirt Cake push pops (displayed in mini trash cans of course)
-Big Bird’s “Bird Seed” (tubes of candy coated sunflower seeds)
-Elmo’s Crayon Colored Frosting Cones (miniature gourmet sugar cones filled with brightly colored buttercream and displayed on a white painter’s pallet…I had the best time making these!!)
-Cookie Monster’s Cookies (an array of delicious cookies complete with take-home boxes for families to bring a bit of the Sesame Street sweetness home with them)
*The dessert table was finished off with delicious red velvet cake pops, a tower of adorable Sesame Street themed cupcakes and of course the polka dot birthday cake replete with a custom street sign styled topper!"

Sandra said- "My son Mohammad celebrated his 5th Birthday. I wanted to make sure that it would be one that he would possibly be able to remember until his next birthday (lol).

Transformers was the theme he came up with. Collaborating with the genius mind of my friend and business partner, we were able to put together a spectacle of a desert table that will be spoken about until our next event.

The kids had a blast and the desserts were to die for. Special thanks goes out to Tantissimo Cakes who did the wonderful job of getting the cake to not only look fantastic, but to taste just as good. The butter cream cupcakes she also made could be smelt from miles away. Also a big thanks to to Ilham Serhan who made the amazing cake pops that were so true to the theme. They looked so futuristic, like something straight from the movie! She also made the cookies that not only tasted beautiful but, WOW- the design. 3's a Party put together the favour bags filled with little goodies that the kids loved. gave The gorgeous compartment box was purchased from Lily Chic Events. It made our glass bottles look amazing."

Scrabble Tea Time Party

And up next, a beautiful SCRABBLE TEA TIME PARTY submitted by Kendall Burley of Cherry Kissed Events! What a terrific way to get together with your girlfriends!

Party details from Kendall- "Nicole and I had a chance to do a great photo shoot inspired by a garden tea theme. We have been planning a Tea Time photo shoot for some time now and finally got to put all our items and ideas together with some great vendors. And we had a lot of fun too!

First, we decided to use purples, golds, pinks, and greens as the main colors for the day.

Next, we decided what items we really wanted to include in our shoot. Such as using our DIY frames that we had worked on, bunting, a cute cake, and fun details like a pop of color on each plate by using a pear.

We used our favorite florist, Bonnie, from Florals by Flory in Roseville, Ca.

She did a great job using bright wildflowers and incorporating them with the DIY tea tins and the DIY laced wine bottles that we made.

We used our sweet friend, Tamsin, from the Sweet Bambino in Roseville. Tamsin makes great baby clothes and other fun items and she made us the cutest bunting. The bunting was made with burlap and felt and she added some cute flowers as a fun detail.

We met with Sweet Cakes by Rebecca in Citrus Heights and showed them the type of cake we wanted and they did an awesome job making us exactly what we wanted, and it tasted great too! We highly recommend them!

We had the chance to use our dear friend, Marci's, new business, Sacramento Vintage Crockery Rentals. She had some unique and original tea time items that really made our shoot look awesome. You need to check out her amazing selection.

We also had photos taken by our friend, Kiem, from Kiem Nyugen Photography. He is always so helpful and works quickly, getting our pictures to us quickly. He is a must for every party!"

Captain Jack Pirate Themed Birthday Party

And the next weekend party feature goes to this fun CAPTAIN JACK PIRATE THEMED BIRTHDAY PARTY submitted by Christy Bergerson of Itsy Belle.

In Christy's words- "My sons favorite new television show this year was 'Jake and the Neverland Pirates', so of course for his birthday I had to design him his very own preschool perfect Pirate Party!
The dessert table was complete with Pirate Marshmallow Pops, Cannon Balls, Pirate Rope, Chocolate Planks, and even Skull and Crossbone Cookies!
Decorations were purchased on a budget with Halloween Clearance shopping!
Little pirates had their faces painted with pirate beards and mustaches. Games included "Pin the Patch on the Pirate" and a blindfolded version of "Walk the Plank". A homemade Skull and Crossbones pinata had all the kids excited!"

Night at the Movies Birthday Party

My first weekend party feature goes to this fabulous NIGHT AT THE MOVIES BIRTHDAY PARTY submitted by Jennifer Schattle. Grab some popcorn and take a seat...this party is one that can't be beat.

Party Details told by Mom, Jennifer Hill (of Hello Love Designs):

"My son, Ethan, was turning 9 this year, so I was facing the dilemma of what kind of party to throw that he would love. And would be 9-year-old "cool" too. Since he has a summer birthday, we always do outdoor parties, and I knew this year wouldn't be any different. I went down my checklist: Camping? Done. Pool party? Done. Circus? Done. Picnic? Done. My parents had just installed a new flat screen television on their back porch. Outdoor movie? That's it! Ohhh, and I love the old theater marquee look, so let's go with that theme - a cool, vintage Hollywood outdoor movie theater! Then he chose his favorite movie, The Karate Kid (2010) with Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan. My ideas were brought back to a 9-year-old reality, and, really, it was all about what he wanted. Vintage Hollywood was out.

For the invitations, I used midnight blue as the background - appropriate for our evening/night event. I still incorporated the old-style theater marquee that I loved, and that was the springboard for the rest of the paper goods. The marquee colors had yellows and red which was perfect for the movie he chose since it takes place in China.

We had the theater, but you cannot go to a movie without going to the concession stand first. We needed a concession stand. I had the idea of marrying a concession stand with being outdoors, so I used a very common umbrella table. Voila, we had a 360 degree concession stand. Very cool for 9-year-olds. Candy all the way around! The red-striped tablecloth was a great find from Target. It zipped around the umbrella! Party lights were hung around the umbrella ready to be lit at dark. I used red and yellow paper lanterns from Party City hanging from the umbrella, keeping with the colors of the invite and movie setting. "Ethan's Theater" concession stand was stocked on one side with the staple movie box candy - m&m's, starburst, skittles, reese's pieces, bottle caps, etc. I used a basket I had for the box candy and my mom's food stand for the other candy. Drinks were outdoor style - glass bottle sodas in a red ice bucket also from Targe t. We weren't having cupcakes, but I had to tuck in a few cupcake toppers into the ice bucket. Red-striped straws (from Hey Yo Yo) with personalized straw flags (Hey Yo Yo) were a must for the drinks. That way the kids could keep up with which drink belonged to who. Let me tell you, they loved having their own names on the straws! The other side of the concession stand had the cotton candy. My sister-in-law has a vintage chip clip stand that I used to hold the cotton candy packages. So neat. The kids just pulled the cotton candy off of the clip and were off to the movie. Of course, the main attraction of the concessions had to be the popcorn. Buttered popcorn was a must. Ethan requested caramel popcorn. I mixed buttered popcorn with m&m's and called it, appropriately, kung fu popcorn. All the popcorn was easily reached in lidded jars from Walmart and a wooden scoop was available to help scoop out the popcorn (also from Walmart). I hung more of the personalized party circles with ribbon around the jar lids. Popcorn boxes (Hey Yo Yo) were just the perfect serving size for the movie. Finally, we had chocolate covered fortune cookies! We couldn't watch The Karate Kid without having fortune cookies. I picked up the fortune cookies from our favorite local Chinese food restaurant and dipped them in chocolate. These were a huge hit with the kids and adults too.

At the party entrance, I used red crepe paper and stands borrowed from a friend as the red rope entrance. It lead the way out back to the party. Very V.I.P. I also placed a "now showing" sign along with a small Karate Kid poster at the entrance next to a jar of red "admit one" tickets giving the entrance a movie theater feel.

At many theaters, you will find photo booths. I thought it would be fun to have an outdoor photo booth to take pictures of Ethan and his guests as they arrived. Well...the best laid plans of mice and men...it didn't work out exactly as I had pictured, but the end result was still just as cute. It was too windy that day and the sheet wouldn't hang, so we just had the photo booth in the great outdoors. I provided different hats and cardstock mustaches from the Cupcake Social as the props. All of the guests hadn't arrived yet, but my friend and photographer, Jennifer Schattle, did an amazing job capturing the kids' personalities that were there for the shoot! They even attempted their own kung fu moves!

After the photo shoot, we played one quick, prize-winning, game: the great popcorn eating race. with chopsticks. Each guest and the birthday boy were given the same number of popcorn pieces and a pair of chopsticks. The object was to race and see who could eat the popcorn the fastest using their chopsticks. Popcorn was everywhere! It's a wonder that we had winners. We played this game a couple of times and had a blast.

Ethan requested a popcorn cake. I am no baker, but I love to make my children's cakes/cupcakes every birthday, so I had a challenge ahead of me. I have to credit Bakerella for the inspiration. She has the popcorn brownies on her website, and I used her technique with the marshmallows to place over the cake. And truly, I have to credit my husband for finishing the cake! I burnt out scoring the marshmallows and he swooped in to double and triple up the marshmallows making the popcorn effect even better. While I was decorating the party that afternoon, he placed every marshmallow "popcorn" on the cake. What a dad!

Finally, after the birthday guests enjoyed the movie, they took home their party favors stuffed inside a popcorn bag (from Hey Yo Yo). It was definitely a night to remember and, most importantly, Ethan said it was the best birthday party ever. I agree."

THEME: Saved by the Bell DETENTION Desserts

What kid in the late 80s and early 90s didn't roll out of bed in their Ninja Turtle pajamas to catch his/her favorite Saturday morning show... Saved by the Bell?!?! Filled with comedy (aka. Samuel Schreech Powers)... and a little drama (who knew caffeine pills were so dangerous)... and EVERYTHING 90s, our friends at Bayside High School taught us about love, friendship, and how to be Cool at School! I wanted my dessert table to be all things awesome, gnarly, and totally RAD... just how Zack and the gang would do it!

DESSERTS:

Center Desk...
The center of the table became this retro television I found off of craigslist for a whopping $15. No, it doesn't work thanks to the change from analog to digital... but the static screen and knobs took me back to the good ole days. I placed Kelly 'Kup'kowski Cakes on top of the tv and topped the cupcakes with the Class of '93 photos and fondant toppers in the most awesome iconic fashion. Could that sneaker be any more amazing?! SHAAA! Orange sodas sat in front of the TV. Just because everything is cuter on sticks, I placed Schreech Pops on one side and gummy burgers on the other. The Schreech Pops were made by yours truly and displayed the multitude of faces of the sidekick that we grew to love (well, maybe not Lisa)! The gummy burgers were direct from The Max, the fav after-school hang-out/dance competition location/music video set!

Left Desk...
Placed perfectly on AC's dumbbell, Slater's Sugar Cookies showed off the famous logo, Zach's sneaker, the iconic opening credit pair of shades, a boom-box, and the Bayside logo. Go TIGERS!!! Because of Lisa's shopping habit, Miss Lisa 'Turtles' were placed atop a stack of shoe boxes. Ice-cream flavored lollipops sat in retro sundae cups in tribute of the greatest girl group at Bayside High... Hot Sundae! "Mind to it... Go for it..."

Right Desk...
Speaking of Hot Sundae, let's not forget how stressed, excited, then scared Jessie Spano got over the music video shoot, the fame of the girl group, and applying for colleges. For that reason, Jessie's Energy Pills sat on top of a large stack of textbooks. And it wasn't just the girls that had a musical hit, the boy band Zack Attack swooned almost every girl at Bayside. Zack Attack Snacks, poly bags filled with neon sour gummies, sat on a platter hoisted up with an enormous pair of sneakers (jeans tucked IN, of course)! At the end of the day... and each season... the gnarly girls and bodacious boys of Bayside taught us one thing... Friends are Forever! So grab your Buddy Band Brownie, topped with neon Nerds (another specialty by me) and chill with a pal! Just don't get caught by the princiPAL!!"

Breaking Dawn Twilight Party

Any Twilight fans out there? If so, you will love this BREAKING DAWN TWILIGHT PARTY submitted by Amy Fetter of Earl Photography. From the feathers to the chess pieces to the colored contacts, this party had it all! Everything was "Twilight" style. Amy even had life sized Edward & Jacob stand ups!

Here is what Amy said about the party- "I threw a Twilight themed party, for the premiere of the movie based on the book, Breaking Dawn. I had about 7 different areas set up:

The entry area had our very owen photo studio (or photo booth) with an actual photographer friend -who was already invited to the party, but then offered to take pictures. Next to that was a table with name tags, prize drawing entry, a costume contest entry, and two sets of trivia (one from 'Twilight' and one from 'Breaking Dawn'-the first part that related to the movie). We also had prizes for Trivia winners.

Right across from the entry table was the wedding themed/love story table. Completed with a themed fondant cake as the centerpiece, fondant themed cupcakes, labeled water bottles (which didn't turn out as great, but the idea is cute), and it was decorated with all sorts of fun hints from the movie, such as hanging white flowers, feathers. Also, things like plastic swans for "Bella Swan", as well as rose petals agains a white table cloth, and diamonds.

My theme colors were pretty obvious -white, black and red. The great part is they are all reusable party items -colors I will for sure be using in the future.

I even hung LED Christmas lights, as well as paper lanterns and tissue decorative balls.
Once you left the entry to the kitchen area, there were two food areas -one themed after the Cullen (vampire) family, and one after the Werewolf's. Fans know that the Cullen's are "vegetarians", or that the Werewolf's -compare the Cullen's -are "hot-blooded" (both in reality and in temper) -so a veggie tray on one and hot chocolate on the other, etc. -you get the idea.

Then the final area was the movie room, where we had the Twilight series trivia playing on the the tv. And then the movie popcorn holders, with twinkling lights and the prizes.

The party went a little like this: People arrived, greeted, put name tag on and names in the drawing bowl, grabbed trivia and a pen and sat at the table and filled it out while they talked and while people arrived. (The trivia was found on-line: www.funtrivia.com). People could choose when to do their photo booth pics, but one of the most fun parts (MUST Have for this type of party), were the Edward and Jacob card board stand-ups. These made the pictures so fun. And you can't forget the ever trending "mustache on a stick" for a photo booth, HOWEVER, I found ones with red lips and white vampire teeth. SO cute! I ordered them from www.mustacheonastick.com."

Today I am featuring this darling TOY THEMED BIRTHDAY PARTY submitted by Luciana Perali of Atelie Festejar from Brazil. How cute is this classic party theme? I love all the homemade DIY touches.

As the children arrived they were given a fun vintage toy bag, including a do it yourself kite kit. All the moms received “playground kits”, including sunscreen, moisturizer & bandaids! Such a cute idea.

The toy themed treats and desserts couldn’t be displayed more perfectly. I love all the airplanes and kites. And look at the cute aviator goggles on the drink bottles!

Here is what Luciana said about the party- "First of all I am a mother of boys and know that innovation in their party is very complicated because we can not use many things that are so available in the US. The theme of this party was toys. An airplane was built to showcase some of the treats and we decorated the chairs with fabric kites made out of scented sachets. The details on the desserts are incredible. Look at the intricate work on the cupcakes and cake. Other sweet treats included bala de coco, macarons, cotton candy and cake pops.”

Up next is an adorable VALENTINE'S DAY SPA PARTY submitted by Christy Bergerson of Itsy Belle. This party looks like it was so much fun! What a perfect theme for a teen valentines party! LOVE the hutch dessert display and the pink ruffle cake!

Here is what Christy said about the party- "When I was planning on a Valentine's themed Spa Party for girls I knew it had to be sweet and relaxing! I decided soft pinks would give more of a calm spa feeling than the typical reds of Valentine's Day. In searching for inspiration I saw a photo of the sweetest pink ombre ruffle cake, and it became my centerpiece! I knew that fading soft pinks, ruffles, and sweetness would be the perfect touches. I also wanted to bring in a touch of chocolate, cause what would Valentine's Day be without chocolate!

I knew for a spa party there had to be lots of pampering!
