Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge #10

Todays sketch was designed by Kathleen Rintoul-Waite from Lilypopcrafts I've had fun with this one, it's great! so thanks to Kathleen :)

Onto my white card base I've added a layer of crumb cake and another layer of the lovely "sweet sugarplum" (coming soon) I stamped the splatters from gorgeous grunge in crumb cake, sweet sugarplum and also some with silver embossing, which can be seen better on pic further down :).

Three little flowers from the petite petals stamp set are also stamped using the new sweet sugarplum, I'm loving this new colour and I think it goes well with the crumb cake.

I added a pearl to my flower centres after shaping them a little.

A piece of silver sequin trim is used across the top corner. Lastly the sentiment is from the sweet stack set and mounted onto matching circles of card.

Paint a picture

Hello,
Been really busy lately but here I am back with a little card today.
This features a sneak peek of one of the new stamp sets coming soon in the new edition of the annual catalogue, it is called painters palette.

Also used is one of the new in-colours, its called peekaboo peach and I love it, I also used pacific point as I thought the two went well together.

There are a couple of other stamp sets used as well, they are gorgeous grunge and work of art. The little butterflies are from papillon potpourri and punched from the matching punch.

I hope you like this little project and I hope to be back soon with another one.

Hi and welcome to this weeks challenge, our sketch for this week is from Justyna, its pretty cute :)

When I first saw the sketch I wasn't sure what would work best, something plain or just really go for it. Sooooo.....

This time I just went for it!! something bright and vibrant, away from my norm of mostly just two colours.

Colours used are basic grey, melon mambo, pool party and bermuda bay.....eeek lol, this is way out my comfort zone....

Only two stamp sets used here though, A nice cuppa set (with matching dies) and petite petals for the little flowers which are punched out with the matching punch...The cute paper covered in all those gorgeous little hearts is from the nice cuppa d.s.p stack.

I hope you all like this weeks project. I cant wait to see what everyone has done with theirs.

Cute little gift box & tutorial

Hello,
Today I have this cute little pizza box style gift box for you, finished box only measures about 2-1/2 inches square but could hold some little sweets etc.

I used calypso coral cardstock and pretty petals d.s.p to make this, and then a strip of the same card to make a wrap round band with a couple of circles....finished off with a nice sentiment from the endless birthday wishes.

I added some little foil covered chocolate balls inside, but any small items/sweets would do.

Todays sketch is from Hannah McCurley....

I think she's been very good to us giving us this one to work with :)
I chose to do something with a new product I have from the spring/summer catty, in a sort of pastel theme using mint macaron, blushing bride and soft sky....

Its the Number of years bundle, so I'm thinking, what number do I use?? Well I dont know of any birthdays just now soooo.....27 is for February 27th :), the date of this hop.

I just masked off each part of the card in turn and stamped the corners with the little confetti stamp from the new sale-a-bration set "party pants" (claim for free with a £45 spend)

A quick and easy card to do and with the numbers you can have any age, date or special number on your project.

Mint macaron thank you

Hello again,

Hope everyone is well today....Today's card is a lovely little thank you card, there are quite a few variations of this one so I don't know who the original idea came from....this is my version.

On a white card blank I matted a piece of mint macaron, then a piece of very vanilla to do my image on. The hexagon shapes I did with the pretty petals dsp, just love the mint and black together here.

The stamp sets used this time are the lovely gorgeous grunge for the "splatters" and the thank you sentiment comes from the work of art set....The finishing touches are the cute butterfly stamped from papillon potpourri and punched with the matching punch, finally a few little gems on the butterfly body and a couple in two corners of the card.

Hello and welcome, this weeks sketch was designed by Debbie...

I really enjoyed making this project, a nice start to my first blog hop :)

Here I used only three colours and decided to go for a summery look due to all the bad weather we've all been having recently. So I hope this brightens your day....

This is done on a plain whisper white card blank with a smoky slate mat, then another mat in white....

On to this I chose a panel of so saffron and one of white.

On this panel I stamped the leaves from the summer silhouettes stamp set with smoky slate ink. I then cut two circles again in so saffron and white, this circle is stamped with the flower from the same set inked with the same colours, I put dimensionals on the circles to raise them a little.
The sentiment is from the work of art stamp set.

I really like these two colurs together, one of my favorite combinations along with a favorite stamp set!

Today I would like to share a cool feature I found while browsing the web, I had been looking for ways to match up stampin up colours, like what matches what and co-ordinates etc and I came across this......

All the stampin up colours are on left side and all you do is pick any one or more colours you want to use on your project, then click search, this gives you other colours that will match and co-ordinate.

Its pretty good to turn to if you need help colour matching or if you've just lost your mojo lol :D

Leafy branch

Hello all ;)

I have for you today one of my fav and quick cards, The colours ive used are smokey slate and blushing bride, I always love pink and grey together.

The stamp sets used are summer silhouettes, petite petals and botanicals for you, the matching punch was used with the petite petals (which can be purchased as a bundle)

The little flowers also have a wink of stella on them, this gives a lovely shimmer.

This is an A6 card but folded in a tent fold style, on my first mat I inked the edges of a piece of whisper white with blushing bride ink, this gives a nice soft finish, I then stamped on another piece of whisper white with the leaves stamp, twice straight on and twice second generation stamping.

Little flowers are stamped in blushing bride and punched out with a pearl added to the centres.

The sentiment is stamped in blushing bride from the botanicals for you set (sale-a-bration)

This card could be for any occasion.....

Pop up ice cream

Morning from a very wet Scotland today.... Today's card is a little bit different with the inside being a pop up :). I used the honeycomb happiness stamp set from sale-a-bration, you can claim this set free when you spend £45 or more in our catalogues. The splashes on the front are from gorgeous grunge and I used a little bit of dsp down the side.

The dsp is birthday bouquet from the spring/summer cat. The inside is done using the same (honeycomb happiness) stamp set and the same dsp.....colours used are mint macaron, blushing bride and black. The little ice cream cones have a wink of Stella on them to add a nice shimmer but it's hard to see in the photo.

As you can see I've used a couple of other brand dies for my inside, to create the pop up and edges, I have so many in my stash I thought it was about time to put them to good use :)

summer silhouette

Good afternoon ;)

Todays card is from the stamp set summer silhouette, just the thing for a rainy day....well its raining here in Scotland, as usual lol.
This was done by inking through a mask with pool party and tempting turquoise to create a border and a center section which i then stamped with the flowers and leaves just in black.

The sentiment is from teeny tiny sentiments and punched with the word window punch. Butterfly is stamped then punched, this was also brushed with the clear wink of stella to give a gorgeous shimmery effect (hard to see in pic)

Softly falling.....

Well that time is nearly here so here's a little Christmassy project, this has got to be my favourite embossing folder ever, it's called softly falling and again my very much used stamp set festival of trees.

My ink colour this time is tempting turquoise which I also used to ink round the edge of my layer.

A few tiny gems were added to the leafy tree and 3D glitter glue to the spots on the other tree.

A double swirl

Hello again :)
A nice and easy card today for you today....this one features the everything eleanor and petite petals stamp sets and sentiment is from endless birthday wishes.

The colours I chose were black, smoky slate and melon mambo.
First I stamped the large swirl from everything eleanor in black, then again in smoky slate moving the stamp slight over this time to give a sort of shadow effect.
The little flowers are stamped in melon mambo and punched out with the co-ordinating petite petals punch.
My artwork piece is then mounted on melon mambo and black cardstock.

Small Faceted box

Hi again,

Today I have for you a little box that I was inspired by and just had to give it a go, this is the biggest of the three sizes which is 1.1/4 by 2.1/4. This wee box would be ideal for a piece of jewellery or a small gift for the Christmas table. Here I used those little chocolate foiled balls that you can buy just now in most shops, the one's that come in a net bag.

The first one I made was black with gold embossing and I used two of the small stamps from the festival of trees set, "a merry little wish" and the little star, then just random stamped ....This one has gold foiled chocolate balls....

The next one is made with kraft card and used the same stamps, chocolates are little christmas puddings so I chose my colours to match.

I used old olive and crumb cake inks to do my stamping but no embossing on this one. Finished off by adding the little chocolate puddings :)

Another festival of trees

Morning,

Today's card is another Christmas one, really like this festival of trees set of stamps.

If you are needing to make a batch of cards and you need them quick these are very easy to do and give a very effective finished result.

I embossed a piece of cream card with an embossing folder (not a stampin up folder) from my stash, this was mounted onto a red mat which is then put on a black card blank...
The three of the trees are stamped in black and the little bird in red, I added some red glitter drops to one of the trees as baubles and tied a piece of ribbon round the cream card, then finished with a sentiment from sassy salutations set.......

Avery nice and simple card to make with just a splash of red

Two tones of blue

I wanted to have a go at this card I originally seen on Google images. This
uses everything Eleanor stamp set and the two inks are Pacific point and tempting turquoise.

I used the masking technique with the centre plaque, then stamped the swirl twice, take the mask away and it instantly looks as if the swirls are behind the plaque :)

I then stamped the little bird and the two flowers, all these are from Everything Eleanor. My choice of sentiment was from the sassy salutations set.
Add a little bow, a couple of gems and your done.

Pink and grey just for you

Hi,

Today i'd like to share this simple little card which is made using the work of art, gorgeous grunge and petite petals stamp sets.

The main stamp is from work of art and was inked with smoky grey and stamped once and the pink was done by inking the stamp only once with blushing bride ink then stamped two times times to get the gradual fade effect. Splatters are from gorg grunge and stamped once in each of the two colours.

Flowers stamped and punched with petite petals stamp and matching punch.

Little heart and sentiment from work of art set.

Monochrome Christmas

Happy December 1st, its getting close now, soon be time to get my tree up and I'm sure my daughter Chloe will no doubt be reminding me very shortly lol.

Today I have a nice little card for you, Christmas this time of course. This one again using the festival of trees stamp set and my gorgeous grunge in the background.

I decided to try something a little different than the traditional christmas colours, using basic black, smoky slate along with some silver embossing going on.

The splodge from gorgeous grunge has been stamped with smoky slate and
the speckled stamp has been stamped with versamark and embossed in silver, its hard to see in the picture.

Same with the trees, versamark on black card and embossed in silver. Flowery tree is stuck flat and the spotty one is raised on dimensionals as is the sentiment, card is finished off with a few gems for that added bit of sparkle. Pearl drops have been used on the tree.

I think this makes a nice change for Christmas, elegant and expensive looking :)

Work of Art

Well what a horrible night it is here, typical wet dark Scottish night. So I thought I'd brighten things up a bit with this little colourful card.
The sentiment "you are a fabulous work of art" from of course the work of art stamp set, splodges (if that's what you call them) are from gorgeous grunge.

Colours I chose this time were rich razzleberry, tempting turquoise, and melon mambo.

Butterflies are punched from the itty bitty butterfly punch.

Tea light gift box and card combined

Hello again, I seem to be in a very crafty mood just now lol....that said, here's another cheeky wee project I made :-)

This one is a card and little tea light gift box combined....so cute!

The gorgeous grunge stamp set is so so versatile, you can do loads with it, I absolutely love it!

So this one was using Stampin up gorgeous grunge and papillon potpourri stamp sets and sentiment is from the endless birthday wishes, the colours I chose were, pool party, blushing bride and crumb cake.

This will hold 4 of the standard tea lights, the ones in the little metal/tin holder, yankee's are taller so don't fit, saying that I will be trying to amend dimensions to come up with one that will fit them.

Had a few requests for a tutorial.....

For the box drawer you will need a piece of card measuring 7.5/8 by 2.3/4 inch, on a scoreboard score this on all 4 sides at 5/8ths of an inch, make up as you would for a normal box base.

The card/box part you will need a piece of card measuring 12 by 6.1/2 inches, place this on scoreboard with the long side along the top and score at 1/2, 1.1/8, 2.3/4, 3.3/8 and 8.3/8

fold and crease all scorelines. you can at this stage cut an aperture if you wish and stick a piece of acetate behind to form a window...

Then fold over the first 4 scorelines to make a sleeve for your box tray to slide into and glue this in place, I find it easier to fold it over with the tray inside so you get the right placement. (if you are going to stamp it do that first)

Lastly, fold your last scoreline over to make the card part.....Decorate to your hearts desire :)
