I’m posting this quick blogpost now. I just came across this awesome OS that was built on Microsoft Silverlight. And this is what it is all about the all new SolveOS

SilveOS.com is a Silverlight operating system (sometimes called a Web OS or a Webtop or a cloud computer). It brings the convenience and comfort you know from classical desktop applications into your browser. SilveOS.com gives you a familiar work interface that looks the same whether you’re working at your home computer, or remotely from a borrowed or public computer. System hosts all of your data and applications on the web so that they are accessible from Internet browser and not tied down locally to any one. You can launch applications right away without installation and it will be executed in draggable and resizable windows.

Mozilla Firefox Home for iPhone now available [Download]

The much awaited and hyped Mozilla’s first ever iPhone app, Firefox Home for iPhone is now available for download. Here are some screenshots of how it looks. Will be reviewing the app once I get some time.

The app allows the users to view and manage their desktop Bookmarks, history and syncs well with the desktop version of Firefox. I’m not very sure of how this app will be a hit. But then, it has created some hype that will have a record breaking download count!

Apple released the Beta release of the much needed iOS 4.1, that is supposed to resolve the iPhone signal problem. And looks like the fix has been done. The modem firmware has been updated to 02.07.01. Here’s the video of How to Jailbreak your iPhone with iOS 4.1 Beta 1 posted by FunkySpaceMonkey:

Here are some changes that have been noticed in this new iOS 4.1 build:

? New Baseband (02.07.01)

? Game Center is back with new look (see screenshot)
? Camera Switch and Flash buttons reposition in landscape mode
? You can now choose to add Favorite as voice or FaceTime.
? Spell Check can be turned off in Settings

Download Windows 7 SP1 Public Beta now

As expected, Microsoft has released the public beta of Windows 7 Service Pack 1. This SP1 includes the much hyped RemoteFX. RemoteFX allows host based 3D rendering, allowing users to access a remote computer and experience the multimedia content in their system.

The new SP1 has all the up-to-date hot fixes that were released and also adds support for USB 3.0 [Probably]. The Windows 7 Service Pack 1 can be downloaded here at Tech Evaluation Center.

iPhone 4 has been unlocked! [Video Footage]

Looks like the iPhone 4 has been unlocked now. Planetbeing, of the iPhone Dev-team has confirmed that he now has an unlocked iPhone 4 with him via twitter. Here’s what he tweeted.

I’ve been waiting for the confirmed public unlock for long, and I think its coming out from the dev-team very soon! iPhone 4 would be mine soon!

Pranav does it again – It’s a Mouseless now

Pranav Mistry, a proud Indian student at MIT, known for his ultimate handsfree device called The Sixth Sense, has now come out with another invention. It’s called the Mouseless. The project aims at making the mouse invisible, and gives all the features of a physical mouse without actually requiring the physical hardware. The picture below explains the whole concept of this product.

This invisible mouse uses IR lasers and IR cameras that are embedded into the computer itself. And this is based on the computer vision algorithm, may be something similar to OpenCV is used in these technologies. And you know what, the mouse would cost just $20 to make. So, obviously, on a larger scale, it would cost much lesser and would be a huge hit in the market. Anyways, have a look at the video which Pranav demonstrated about the invisible mouse.
