Megaupload / Rapidshare tricks to download files

These Megaupload tricks are particularly useful for those who receive the message "All slots assigned to your country are in use", when you try to download a file.

I'm still not completely sure if this will work all the time, but its worth a try even if it works 60% of the time. Below are five different methods you can try.

For RapidShare:
If you have a ADSL connection with dynamic IP address, just restart you ADSL router/modem and clean your browser cache, especially cookies. This should be enough.
Method 4 listed below may also work for Rapidshare.

Method 1:
Go to http://upandup.freehostia.com/accelerator.html to easily bypass Megaupload download slots. Just as a precaution, clean your browser cache before each attempt, even though I don't think this is necessary.

Method 2:
If you can't get those country slots, you can read the post about a new version of a Firefox extension called Megaupload S.X3.2 for megaupload.

Method 3:

1. Go to the Google Translate tool. Here you'll find two sections : Translate Text and Translate a Web Page.

2. In the Translate a Web Page text box, paste your megaupload download link. Select the translation of your choice and hit the Translate button to load the megaupload file download page.

Method 4:
This method involves browsers that use the anonymous TOR network. XeroBank (formerly know as Torpark) is one if the browsers and OperaTor (check the post on OperaTor) is the other. XeroBank is a modified version of Firefox with TOR and OperaTor is a combination of the Opera browser, TOR and Privoxy.

Setting these browsers can be quite a headache. So be prepared to do some extra reading to get them started. Also, my guess is since these browsers use the TOR network, breaking limits may be possible in almost any services like Megaupload, Rapidshare..etc

Method 5:
For Firefox users:

1. Install the Firefox addon named User Agent Switcher.

2. Once installed, go to Tools >> User Agent Switcher >> Options >> Options.
The User Agents Switcher Options window is displayed.

3. Select User Agents from the list in the leftmost part of your screen.

4. Click Add to add a new user agent and type these details in the resulting window:
a. In the Description box type : MEGAUPLOAD
b. In the User Agent box type : Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; Alexa Toolbar)

5. Click OK twice to close the two windows and finish adding the new user agent.

So how do you use it from here? Just before you download a file from Megaupload, go to
Tools >> User Agent Switcher >> MEGAUPLOAD.
You can always set the user agent back to default after your download is complete.

Type in the address bar this: about:config
Then search for this key: general.useragent.extra.firefox
Double click on it and add this: MEGAUPLOAD 1.0
So at the end it will look like this: Firefox/2.0 MEGAUPLOAD 1.0
Restart Firefox and now you have infinite slots.

Method 6:
For Internet Explorer users:

IE users will have to edit settings in the Windows Registry.
(Caution: Please ensure you backup your registry before proceeding. if you don't know how to backup the registry.)

1. Go to Start >> Run.
Type regedit and press Enter. This will open the Registry editor.

2. IE 7 (IE 6 users can also try this ) users must navigate to the following :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet
Settings\User Agent\Post Platform.

3. Other IE users must go to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet
Settings\5.0\User Agent\Post Platform.

4. Now right-click the Post Platform folder and go to New >> String Value.
Type Alexa Toolbar as the name and click Ok.

If any of the above tricks aren't working, there is one more way. I couldn't classify it as a method for downloading from megaupload. In fact, megaupload is not even in the picture in this case. Well, it is a site named DivShare. For those who aren't aware, it is much BETTER THAN Megaupload. Unlimited downloads, unlimited uploads, files stay on DivShare forever..

Most piston engines today employ a camshaft to operate poppet valves. This normally consists of one or more shafts parallel to the crankshaft with a number of oblong lobes or cams protruding from it, one for each valve. The cams force the valves open either by pressing directly on the valve stem, or by operating some intermediate mechanism. (Exceptions to this system include the two-stroke and Wankel engines, which use piston-controlled ports).

Sliding friction between the surface of the cam and the cam follower reduce the ultimate power of the engine. While attempts have been made to combat this with rollers (which also permit the use of concave cam lobes), there are more frictional losses in the tappet blocks and valve guides. Then there are the losses in hysteresis, whereby not all of the energy used to compress the valve springs is returned as the spring extends again. All these reduce the overall efficiency of the engine. And, of course, camshaft/spring operation introduces valvetrain weight, limiting the rotational speed at which the engine can operate.

One of the approaches designed to overcome these problems, but which has proved difficult to implement, is Camless valvetrains using solenoids or magnetic systems which have long been investigated by BMW and Fiat, and are currently being prototyped by Valeo and Ricardo. The new Fiat Nuova 500 is supposed to have this kind of engine^[1].

The earliest proposed system was on the Tucker Torpedo in 1947, which was planned use oil pressure to open the valves. However, the engine didn't reach production due to legal problems.

Camless engines would not only be more efficient in terms of mechanical energy, they would also be more flexible, as the valves could be computer-controlled and free up more power to the wheels. Infinitely variable valve timing would be possible, though variable valve lift would be more difficult. Valeo estimates that the efficiency of a camless engine would be 20% greater than a comparable camshaft-operated engine, though Ricardo is more conservative. These companies are positioning this technology as an alternative to hybrid engines currently used to increase fuel economy.

The Wankel engine is a type of internal combustion engine which uses a rotary design to convert pressure into a rotating motion instead of using reciprocating pistons. Its four-stroke cycle is generally generated in a space between the inside of an oval-like epitrochoid-shaped housing and a roughly triangular rotor. This design delivers smooth high-rpm power from a compact, lightweight engine. Since its introduction the engine has been commonly referred to as the rotary engine, though this name is also applied to several completely different designs.

The engine was invented by engineer Felix Wankel. He began its development in the early 1950s at NSU Motorenwerke AG (NSU) before completing a working, running prototype in 1957. NSU then subsequently licenced the concept to other companies across the globe, who added more efforts and improvements in the 1950s and 1960s.

Because of their compact, lightweight design, Wankel rotary engines have been installed in a variety of vehicles and devices such as automobiles including racing cars, along with aircraft, go-karts, personal water craft, chain saws, and auxiliary power units. The most extensive automotive use of the Wankel engine has been by the Japanese company Mazda.
