Take me out to the We-dding, take me out with some vows! Okay, not quite the traditional ball game lyrics…but Janet and Eric did have an amazing baseball-themed wedding in honor of their love for the all things baseball! Sometimes people go overboard with their themes but personally, I think that they did it just right! It was not over-the-top and could definitely still be described as elegant. See for yourself below!

From being married on the home plate in their Ceremony, to the baseball team-named tables, to their signature guestbook jersey – they definitely thought of all the details! The Wedding Party Entrance was especially fun and unique – each member held custom baseball bats to create an arch for the Bride and Groom to walk through in their grand entrance. The centerpieces were a blend of tall vases with baseballs in the base or a low arrangement with the fun addition of a team pennant flag to show the guests to their seats. At each place setting, a baseball cookie favor was displayed for their guests to take home. They even had a custom cake topper with them and their Great Dane Lucy at Wrigley Field. It was so fun, still beautiful and perfectly fit the couple.

Real Weddings: Laura & Travis

The words “Rustic” and “Romantic” would be excellent words to describe the theme of Laura and Travis’ Wedding. Laura and Travis got married on a beautiful June afternoon at Squirrel Creek Ranch in Grass Valley. This fun-loving couple’s decor consisted of beautiful colorful wildflowers in an eclectic collection of vintage vases. Unique dinnerware (collected by the Bride) and centerpieces that consisted of personal items like old books, abalone shells, and an old Clarinet were a unique twist to most rustic weddings. As you can see below in the photographs, this wedding style fit them perfectly!

Along with the unique centerpieces, Laura and Travis sourced antique decor and furniture, crochet handkerchiefs, and added small vintage colored glass bottles with flowers on the tables. The favors were absolutely perfect for this wedding – jars of homemade jams! Their ceremony included a very sentimental moment where they had their rings on display, so that family and guests could warm and bless the rings. That is definitely a memory that their family and friends will always remember, as they were included in the ceremony itself!

Real Wedding: Lia & Alex

B-E-A-U-tiful! The wedding of Lia and Alex was just that and more. Our featured couple were married at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church and held their reception at the Crocker Art Museum. Lia chose a color palette of platinum silver, pops of orange and lots of modern white and the result was just dashing. The tables were draped in a mix of platinum silver linens (some with sequins – gorgeous!), topped with white square modern dinnerware and lots of clear glass, and partnered with silver chiavari chairs, for a chic and elegant look. The dash of orange florals on the tables completed the look. Take a look below at the beautiful wedding and the magnetic love between this couple.

As you can see, the wedding of Lia and Alex was full of love and laughter. The traditional Greek dances were just so fun to see -and their guests had a blast! Their unique blend of Greek, Italian and Mexican heritages was reflected in many aspects of the wedding. The centerpieces were a mixture of silver and white ceramic pieces that reflected their Greek and Italian heritages and the white acrylic “Papel Picado” table numbers paid homage to Lia’s Mexican ancestry. The escort cards were displayed on a hand painted orange and white canvas with handwritten calligraphy of each guest’s name – it was a perfect artistic touch to showcase their Art Museum venue. No detail was left undone – it was apparent that Lia and Alex wanted to create an amazing experience for their guests to enjoy!

Highlight: Alecia & Josh

I would describe Alecia and Josh’s Wedding as “Intimate” and “Beautiful”. They were married on the highly desirable date of 9/10/11 at the Heavenly Resort in Tahoe. The color scheme for the Bridal Party was comprised of gray suits, a personalized range of blue dresses for the Bridesmaids and vibrant wildflower-like florals which were all beautiful accents to the rustic location. The simple white baby’s breath flowers for the Bridesmaids and the gorgeous fall colors of flowers for the Bride’s bouquet were simply breathtaking.

As you can see, this wedding was very beautiful and romantic – but also very much personalized. In honor of their first meeting at Golden Bear, they made little honey bear jars filled with local honey as favors for their guests. The Groom, a seasoned graphic designer, created all stationery including their invitations and reception pieces. For the flower vases, the Bride DIYed tinted blue Mason jars – a DIY Project she shared on our blog – and then decorated them with burlap, raffia and mini pine cones. She also used burlap as table runners to mimic the rustic texture throughout the room. All of these projects really showcased the Bride and Groom’s talents and personalized their wedding to make it even more special!

Highlight: Buu & Brian

“Easy-going, classy and fun” were three words that Buu and Brian wanted their wedding day to be like. Well judging by these beautiful pictures, it’s safe to say they got exactly what they wanted! In every image you can see the love that both Buu and Brian have for each other. Brian comes from a Mid-West family, he met Buu when she did a background check on him before being a part of the Big Brother Big Sister Organization. Buu must have liked what she found because these too became an item! Now they have the rest of their lives to make many happy memories together as husband and wife.

The Proposal: Brian, one of the sweetest men, planned to propose one week in February but Buu would be out of town. He had to quickly restrategize. Brian knew Buu would get suspicious if he planned a trip or took her to a fancy restaurant so he thought of the perfect surprise proposal. He hid the ring in her gym bag that she would bring to the gym while the couple trained for a 5K. Brian asked her to look in her bag for the keys and the first search Buu didn’t find the ring, [think quick] so Brian asked her to look again and finally she found Brian’s family heirloom diamond sparkler!

The ceremony and reception were held on the remarkable Citizen Hotel 7th Floor Metropolitan Terrace looking over the city. Mason jars filled with blue hydrangeas decorated the reception, as well as tall centerpieces and blue uplights to complete the look. Guests were also delightfully entertained by dragon dancers to celebrate Buu’s rich Chinese culture. Hints of navy blue that the wedding party donned were seen in the cake and stationery, as well as splashes of champagne and silver. We wish Buu and Brian many years of happiness as a married couple!

“HUGE thank you to Kate and her team for making it all happen for us. Not only is Kate incredibly organized, but she really took the time to get to know us and our style. She made fantastic suggestions when she felt they were welcome or especially important, but never tried to force anything on us or talk us into something we weren’t comfortable with. I can’t begin to explain how great it felt to trust her 100% and know that everything was under control on our wedding day. Every aspect was taken care of, down to the smallest detail, and my husband and I never once worried about a single thing. She glued my sister/maid of honor’s eyelashes back on when they started to peel off after the ceremony, she brought me an assortment of granola bars when she overheard me whisper to my husband-to-be that I was hungry during family photos, she brought all of our gorgeous flowers and candles up to our hotel room after the reception so that we’d have a beautiful room to come back to… and I know that as soon as we get all the photographs back, we’ll see detail after detail that we missed that day and be so grateful for! Because of her, we were able to just truly relax and enjoy a beautiful day with the people we love most. Thank you again, Kate – we’ll let you know when it’s time to throw a vow renewal party!”

Real Wedding: Megan & Matt

This vibrant and Eco- friendly wedding was very creative and just plain beautiful! The fun loving couple, Megan and Matt, were such a great couple to work with and the love between them is electric. It was a very intimate wedding as they each wrote their own vows – and as you can see in their pictures it was definitely a wedding to be remembered!

Now that you have seen the photographs done by Jen Stewart Photography, you can see that the love between Megan and Matt is undeniable! The creative ideas that Megan came up with were stunning – from the beautiful and vibrant colored fabrics that hung above them as they stood under the oak tree, to the mason jars with chalk paint that each guest could individualize. The food catered by Tacos Tres Hermanos (a mobile taco truck) was definitely a fun twist! The Dia de los Muertos cake topper they chose for their wedding pie was also unique – and the cupcakes and desserts were done by Karen’s Bakery. Everything about this wedding was fun and with all the DIY projects, it definitely set it apart from other weddings.

The Lab Event is not a pushy sales type event, but rather a laid-back setting. Brides-to-be and of course, Grooms-to-be can go to an awesome event to see what each vendor has to offer.
