"T" Family

Oh this wind we've been having.... luckily we were able to find a nice little cove and be somewhat protective. These kiddos were full of energy and lots of fun... they even came armed with frisbees (which might have been a bribe by mom and dad... not to mention the ice cream they got afterwards). Thanks for a fun evening you guys - I sure enjoyed snapping away!

My little guy is into all things outdoors (specifically farm equipment and dirt equipment). His favorite toy is this little $2 backhoe that we picked up at Tractor Supply... thinking this would last us all of a week. Somehow this toy has survived shopping trips, play dates with friends, the park, and even being outside.

I have to admit.... I've never taken pictures in Iowa before - and when this sweet couple told me that is where they wanted them taken... I was a bit unsure. But how cute is it that HE wanted to have the pictures taken where he proposed - talk about romantic! I had a blast with this couple... they are so very much in love and I can't wait for their big day in just a few short weeks!

When I said "yes" to a family photo session in December... knowing that I'm a natural light photographer I prayed that we wouldn't have blowing snow and -20 degree weather... because living in Nebraska that was a real possibility. Who would have thought that we would have 50 degree weather and that yes an outdoor family session was possible in late December. This extended family traveled all over the world (yes world) to be together for Christmas... and I'm so glad I was able to capture a few sweet moments!

Yikes... I'm slightly behind on updating the blog. I think I should have paid this family... instead of the other way around. Not only did they find this absolutely fantastic place to take the pictures... but they made my job so easy! They were fun, relaxed and had a great time just being together... and they even came up with some fun ideas for shots too - seriously I'm bringing them along on my next shoot. Love the Parde family!!!

Oh my little guy :) He loves nothing more than to be outside, playing in the dirt...with rocks and/or sticks in hand. He loves any kind of equipment (lawn mower or tractor).

The Katz Family... celebrating 50 years of marriage

The Katz Family... We had the chance to surprise my in-laws for their 50th wedding anniversary. We kicked off the weekend with a surprise dinner and then later dessert reception. What they thought would be a small family dinner turned into a dinner with 60 family members and dessert for almost 175 friends. We were also able to sneak in some family pictures... many thanks to my mom who stood in for me to take our group shot. :)

Girls, Girls, Girls, Girls.... oh to take pictures of girls! Having a little boy I'm used to boy things (tractors, trucks, motor sounds and just plain running around). But let me tell you... hair bows and sparkly shoes, ribbons and bows and Justin Bieber? Oh yes... I said Justin Bieber. Maybe I will just stick with my little boy (thankfully he hasn't started to talk yet so I won't here him say Selena Gomez). I haven't laughed so hard as I did when Miss "G" who is 4 yelled out Justin Bieber when I asked her to say something that would make her smile. I was ready for her to say "Baby E" her little sister, daddy... or even cupcakes. Perhaps that is why the look on Brent's face a few pictures down is priceless - I'm not sure what Adrienne whispered... but I'm thinking she said "wait until they are 16!" Thanks Essink's for a fun evening... I had a blast!

This family is so special to me... I can't even describe it. If I had a sister.... I would hope it would be Rachelle. We can talk for hours, we often buy the same things (whether it is clothes or things for our house), we are both "city girls" who married farmers... and often times we think our husbands were separated at birth. I so appreciate Rachelle's wisdom, advice and caring nature and wish I could be as selfless as she is. I have loved watching their children grow up into young people... and they call our son their little brother. I just LOVE them!

What a fun fun family! I feel so lucky to have gotten to know Kim through our mom's group. Little did we both know that we had been praying for a friendship like this. Our families both farm so we completely get our sometimes "unique" lifestyle. Our husbands can talk shop... Kim and I both share a love of Kohl's and our 30% off coupons... and their kids are wonderful and adore having our little one around. What more can you ask for?

Oh how I LOVE this family... they are just too cute and so much fun. I'm not sure how excited the kiddos were about family pictures but mom told them that they were going on an adventure! When they pulled up... they spotted a horse and a few llamas. I was told the COOL factor went way up. Look at the way he looks at her... can you believe they went to prom together? Fast forward just a few years... 2 kiddos later and it is clearly evident that they are SO in love.

Farm chores with family

So here is a sneak peak into my life on the farm. I love that I have a picture of my father in-law here... I think the look he is giving me is "seriously I'm about to throw that camera into the scrap metal pile." I think I'm going to tell him he is on the blog... bless his heart he won't even know what a blog is! Our nephew has been staying with the in-laws for the week and boy has he had a blast... what is not to love (large equipment, tractors and 4-wheelers... and a little cousin who adores him).

The Schardt family... so I remember exactly when I first "met" them. I was sitting in church and saw the most darling family. I mean seriously look at their child... absolutely precious! I leaned over to my mom and whispered "she doesn't know this yet be we are going to be friends." I have so loved getting to know Linsey and the little man through our mom's group at church.
