We are so full of contradictions. Lately I have found myself getting into a pattern of eating too much food that is not only not good for me but it makes me feel crappy! As I do this there is another part of me that knows better.

I am sure you know what I mean in one form or another. We are so inspired to do the right thing in our lives, but then often our behavior does the opposite!

This is one of the most frustrating things about being a human on planet earth!

Why do we do this? What is it in us that causes contradictory behaviors?

Look around you. The whole world is made up of opposites; dark/light, hot/cold, wet/dry, winter/summer, happy/sad and wealth/poverty. Our entire world is made up of relative contrasts. Here is another truth about these opposites: they are constantly changing into each other. Winter becomes spring and then summer. A beautiful sunny day can quickly become an angry windy thunderstorm. You and I are cut from the cloth of this world. This world of polar opposites permeates our whole being. We are on top of the world one moment and then the phone rings. Oh No! Bad new and suddenly your happiness decends to worry and fear. Some days you feel like being alone and others you relish connecting with some of your best friends.

When you engage in behaviors that you don’t like after you thought you had a positive routine going, it’s these intangible forces of yin/yang coupled with the law of constant change at work.

Each of us follows specific patterns in our lives. Some of these are conscious but most are unconscious. These patterns can be as mundane as how we brush our teeth and towel off after the shower all the way to our feelings and beliefs about anything in our world.

These patterns serve us in many ways. For example, once you learn to drive a stick shift car it becomes second nature. Initially, you must focus all of your attention on it and later you can talk, eat and drive all at once!

These habits can also harm us. For example, making a commitment to exercising every day. Motivation is strong in the beginning and for 2 weeks everything is going well. Suddenly the force of change takes hold and the new routine that was gaining momentum seems to be gone. Polarity has shifted and staying home watching t.v. is irresistable.

What can you do?

Here’s what not to do…. Don’t beat yourself up. Recognize since we are all a part of this world of constant change from one opposite to another. This happens to all who endeavor to create new life for ourselves.

Instead, be aware that change takes an upfront firm decision and then continuing to re-choose each time you are tempted by opposite forces – “wouldn’t it be nice to watch t.v. now?” You may have to make the choice 1 or 100 times per day. Sometimes you may make the wrong choice. Remember you are a human full of contrasts. This does not mean you are doomed. Let is go, now is a new moment and you can make a new choice.

Each time you make a choice you add momentum to that choice. If you have made a choice to break a habit pattern of complaining you may be faced with the urge to complain 50 times per day. What if you complained 20 times and refrained 30 times? Since you have chosen not to complain more you are building strength within you to become a non-complainer. Keep it up and be easy on yourself for the times you have complained this will change!

Each of us has 2 metaphorical dogs within us. The white one is the dog of all healthy positive choices and behaviors. The black one is the one that tempts us to go back to old behaviors that makes us unhealthy and unhappy. Which dog will be the stronger one? The one you feed and pay more attention to!

Having a blog is so important these days when you want to do business online. Blog syndication will bring you much more traffic than if you only post on your blog. Without traffic you could have the best product/service on earth and no-one will see it!

Did somebody tell you it was going to be easy? Easy money making- “just join this opportunity.” Easy success – “create a business online fast when you buy this E-course.”

Somehow I seemed to have an idea etched in my brain that is was going to be easy.

I am talking about creating a life for yourself that includes a successful business and financial wealth.

There seems to be some kind of pervasive thread running through our culture. I am talking about the expectation that we “deserve” success. You know, all you need to do is read a Robert Kiyosaki book put forth some effort on the weekends for a couple of months and Voila our dreams come true.

Can this happen? I am sure a few will have an experience like I describe above but not most. Often what I see happening is the normal challenges and obstacles show up and the success attitude starts to corrode. “This doesn’t work”, or “There is no way to go beyond this issue”, or “It’s too hard” are all common gripes. All of this boils down to Entitlement. It is amazing how much of our culture believes that it is entitled to success without paying the price it requires. Just to set the record straight here, I am recovering from entitlement myself!

Here is the crazy thing: Feeling entitled will keep you stuck without success, without wealth and without true enjoyment that comes from really living life. When you feel entitled you give your power away.

Here is the reason: When you believe the world (world means anything or anybody) owes you something you focus negatively on what is missing from your life. You also put your focus outside yourself on whomever or whatever you believe owes it to you. You miss the huge truth that you are the only one who can create what you want and that’s as should be! Do you really want to wait for something outside yourself to get your life going?

OK, now that we have cleared the air let’s discuss the road to success. First, make sure your dreams make you feel giddy and aren’t someone else’s. If you are trying to fulfill someone else’s idea of success for you, you will not be able to persevere through the inevitable obstacles that test your commitment.

Next be really clear about what you want (you don’t need to know How yet) so you can build a momentum of activity on your part while putting in your order to the invisible power that helps you create it in a bigger and better way than you could imagine.

Decide right now that you will continue to go for your goal until you reach it, “No Matter What.” This means you don’t expect it to be handed to you. You only reap the rewards after you have re-created yourself and habits commensurate to what is truly required for achievement and taken consistent action. Sometimes you will do this for years! This means that if you have a goal to be a millionaire, you must develop millionaire habits.

Do not be fooled and waste many years learning this the hard way as I did! I am telling you this so you can take a shortcut! Recognize if you have a tendency toward entitlement. Be honest, but do not be hard on yourself. As I mentioned above, a high percentage of Americans are this way (over 90 %!). The best course of action is to notice your thoughts and how you talk (in your head and to others). When you hear negativity start to pay attention. You have a choice to shift it to an attitude of taking responsibility for your life.

If you continually search for easy money making, you will never experience true success. There is no greater fulfillment that taking the wheel and designing your life! The reward of knowing you are truly living life and contributing in a positive way starting with your attitude. With this attitude the world of your dreams and riches is an open possibility.

I assume you are reading this because you are frustrated with the results so far in your business. You are not alone! Have you heard the statistics on how long most businesses survive? In network marketing 97% fail! 70% of businesses you see in your hometown or on the internet will be out of business in less than 5 years!!

You had better get educated right!? Whoa, watch it; you must know where to get practical education to get you on the road to success. What you actually need is valuable entrepreneur education.

Below I make some comparisons of valuable vs. useless education, try your luck at determining which is which:

• An MBA from Harvard business school or a $5,000 sales seminar with a self-made millionaire internet marketer?
• Being mentored by your uncle Tim who makes 6 figures at his high powered job as a marketing executive or Joe down the street who has his own business in town for the last 15 years and takes off ½ the year to travel for fun?
• Spending an afternoon listening to an audio CD learning the benefits of your product or an audio CD on how to identify and solve the problem of prospective clients?

You may hold a masters degree or even a PhD. Are you educated for success? I guess it depends on who you are talking to. If you are working toward success as an entrepreneur the answer is no!

Sorry, but it is pretty rare for someone who has been educated in a traditional university program to have a real world skills to make it in their own business. Ouch! That is not popular, nor is it easy to hear. Well, it is absolutely true. The self-made millionaire often is a much better quality option.

Personally, I have gotten more out of a 3 day seminar on marketing than in years of formal education. The millionaire seminar speaker has navigated the obstacle course of raw experience. Often the professors in universities live in the ivory tower of a secure paycheck and tenure. Usually they haven’t experienced the “school of hard knocks” an entrepreneur has!

Who you learn from makes all the difference in the world. In the above scenario with your uncle Tim, it may appear on the surface your uncle would be the better mentor. Careful here! If he does not work on commission, he probably will give your theory that has never been tested in the real world. Joe on the other hand will have all kinds of advice that he has tried and tested until he got results. Joe has a pretty nice quality of life and has persevered through challenging times.

I believe most business owners will choose to learn more about their product. This can be massage, vitamin packed juice or jewelry-almost any product fits here. Watch out! Of course it is important to be knowledgeable about your product; but when your business is failing, learning more about what you sell won’t fix the problem! You must educate yourself how to create demand for your product! Being or having the best in your industry means nothing if you don’t have customers!

All of the current circumstances of your life are a result of past thoughts and beliefs. Our life experiences are a perfect mirror of what we think and believe inside. This is so that we can get to know ourselves and re-create ourselves if we want something different. So if you don’t like what’s going on realize it will only change if you change your thinking first.

The universe has laws that it has no choice but to follow. Gravity is one of them. There are no debating gravity’s effects. If you jump off a building you are going to hit the ground regardless of who you are. Universal Laws work 100% of the time without fail.

All creation begins with a thought and moves into words which will flow into physical form. The creation of your life circumstances are no exception.

You are here to learn how to master the process of creation. You can do it! Start right now telling yourself a new story about anything in your life you are not psyched about. Why not? You are already telling yourself a negative story. Every thought is just a story so why not chose one that is more enjoyable? Ever notice there is an endless stream of get rich quick schemes around? People think if they can just find the right million dollar idea or business opportunity they will finally become financially free. These schemes prey on those who haven’t yet woken up to the real reason they can’t seem to get that big break. Are you curious to know how you can finally create financial freedom? Changing your limiting beliefs is the way!

Have you noticed people seem to follow patterns in their lives? Some seem to have the “Midas touch”; everything they do is a huge success. Then you look around and see those who take action but they go from failure to failure. When they try something it does not pan out or they lose money.

Think about yourself for a moment. Where along the spectrum of these two extremes are you? If you observe yourself and notice a repetitive pattern you don’t like, it is most likely due to a limiting belief within your mind.

We get very familiar with what goes on inside of us. We get so used to it we don’t question the messages that are playing constantly. If there is an inner tape playing that says, “You don’t deserve to have financial wealth” you won’t ever experience abundant money in your life! Somewhere in your subconscious, there is an automatic thought process that keeps you in the same financial situation year after year.

Those who seem to be successful and easily attract money also have subconscious messages playing inside of them. The same process happens here. Automatically they are “wired” for success and financial wealth.

So all you have to do is change your subconscious messages right? Correct!

Here is a way you can begin to re-wire or re-program your brain. Pay attention to what tapes are playing in your head. You may not necessarily hear words and sentences but there are other ways to find out what the inner tapes are. They are described next.

Notice how you react to situations in your life. If you make a mistake that costs you money what happens inside? Do you think, “Things like this always happen to me?” Bingo, limiting belief right there! You believe that you always lose money, and so your subconsious will continue to assure this happens!
Once you spend some time becoming acquainted with your inner beliefs you can begin to change them.

Now it is time to pay attention and catch yourself when the old messages play. This is your opportunity to reprogram. Say to yourself “it is not necessarily true that I always lose money. It is possible that there is another way to look at this!”

Yes, this takes some effort but will become second nature the more you do it. Certainly, it is easier than struggling and losing money! Over time you will have many “A Ha” moments and start to see why you were having such a rough time.

Please make sure you aren’t sleep walking through your life as a victim to “Get Rich Quick Schemes”! You have the power! Make a choice right now to begin changing your limiting beliefs!

Here is a question for you. Do you get paid for your time, or for your value? If you are an employee you get paid for your time in almost all situations. If you are compensated for your time it is unlikely you get paid what you are worth.

In an interesting study done by the Social Security- Bureau of Labor statistics studied 100 people who started work at age 25. By retirement age; 63% were dependent on social security, charity or family members, 1% were percent wealthy, 29 % were dead, 3% were still working, and 4% had the accumulated capital for retirement. Only 5% achieved some level of financial success after 40 years of working!

So realize it doesn’t matter if you keep your head down and work hard for 40 years, the chance of you retiring wealthy is relatively small when you get paid for your time. Here is the funny thing; wealth is not necessarily created from working hard! Wealth comes from making yourself into a person of value.

Here I will use the example of network marketing as a path to get paid what you are worth. How is a valuable network marketer defined? Certainly they don’t get paid for their time it’s for their sales! To do this they will have spent time changing who they are. This means they read different books, hang around with different people, and shift old mind patterns to new supportive ones. They question their viewpoints about life, the government and even their family and are open to new ideas. Successful network marketers grow; they challenge themselves and are willing to do what it takes to move beyond huge obstacles. Every time an obstacle is surmounted they have gained more courage and therefore value. They are detached from difficult people, things and circumstances that immobilize others. In essence a valuable network marketer is an enthusiastic leader who makes a great income, loves to teach and influence others to become valuable problem solvers.

You must be willing to do all of these things if you want to stop trading you time for money. This requires you to be “self motivated”. You must stop looking to others for direction and start directing yourself, making firm decisions that you don’t waffle over. Self motivation is not taught in schools. It means you are productive, not busy. You make it a failsafe habit to do these productive things every day. Your passion is followed up by consistent action.
When you are committed to this process “no matter what” you are likely to find yourself wealthy one day. Remember; be detached, you won’t know when that day will be! Along with the wealth you will also have some other great side benefits. You will attract other success minded enthusiastic people who want to work with you. Best of all, you will love your work.

Do you want to have total freedom in your life? Do you love the idea of never having to worry about money again? Do you dream of the day that you don’t have to work on someone else’s schedule?
It’s a common belief that people in this wonderful situation been really lucky and gotten all of the breaks. We often hope that someday our “ship will come in” and we will also be that lucky.
Here is the truth. Having a life of freedom, wealth and free time is not luck! You will achieve these things in your life when you decide to take an active role to make it happen, instead of living passively.
Are you willing to do what 97% of most people will not do? Do you have the audacity to be successful?
There is a good reason that only 3% of people achieve greatness. There are many challenges and obstacles on the road to success. Rarely do you happen to see the people who are living the dream life go through rough times. Realize in order for them to have gotten where they are, there’s full commitment to their dream no matter how many times they fall flat on their face!
Anyone can do this but very few are willing. There is a saying “If you are willing to do for 5 years what no one else is willing to do, you can have anything in life you want”.
In the beginning, what needs to be done will seem overwhelming and impossible. This is just a test to see how bad you want it. If it was that easy there wouldn’t be anything special about the accomplishment.
This brings me to the next point which is; you must find something that truly interests you. What is it you are passionate about? Without passion behind you it will be hard to stay on fire enough to get beyond the obstacles that are a part of any amazing undertaking.
If you don’t know what you are passionate about, trust it is within you. Right now, your security minded, fear based self is at the wheel. Most of us were conditioned this way from our childhood. Stay away from statements like “I don’t know what I am interested in”, these close down possibility. You can instead ask yourself, “I am curious to know what my passion is. I am open and ready to receive my purpose”. This will cause your subconscious mind to start connecting with your purpose and you will receive clues as to what it is.
There is no such thing as a free lunch. It is so true when it comes to living the life of your dreams! The reward is well worth the price of admission! Once you make a firm commitment to create the life of your dreams from the cloth of your purpose you don’t care as much about the obstacles. Even when they are huge, they somehow don’t seem quite as bad. When the student is ready the teacher will appear, is another statement of truth important to remember here. With full commitment, all of the teachers, mentors, information and support will magically come your way.
Do you desire a life of freedom and fulfillment? There is nothing special about successful people; anyone can learn the skills needed. What makes these people different is they say “YES”. The world needs your greatness! What will you decide?
