It was weird waking up this morning and not immediately reaching for my camera. But I'm glad that I used my DSLR for a majority of my photos this week, and I'm planning on using it more often in the coming weeks and months. I forgot how much I loved using it :)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nVOngJBhrCc/VdsQZPku9II/AAAAAAAAJLA/HkTjJKBxb3c/s1600/20150823_093428.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nVOngJBhrCc/VdsQZPku9II/AAAAAAAAJLA/HkTjJKBxb3c/s640/20150823_093428.jpg" width="360" /></a></div>
Sunday mornings we go to church. Unfortunately, our church doesn't seem to have air conditioning. There are fans, but its really really hot in there. Today was the first day in weeks I remembered to wear my hair up. It helped.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSxnktZ9AfQ0DpwvXrl7tksdhRpob2_EMoWy8no4vfF5_vF4ZrD6Cj3ogm-GIiaD-apIXqG66WIx-jEcovf8q9Yqq2Oe5MtmU5S2LkgrP9Y7sLhgKtZZzWm-oxIEbwgWVv0x7vaeJKrelZ/s1600/20150823_094322.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSxnktZ9AfQ0DpwvXrl7tksdhRpob2_EMoWy8no4vfF5_vF4ZrD6Cj3ogm-GIiaD-apIXqG66WIx-jEcovf8q9Yqq2Oe5MtmU5S2LkgrP9Y7sLhgKtZZzWm-oxIEbwgWVv0x7vaeJKrelZ/s640/20150823_094322.jpg" width="360" /></a></div>
It rained yesterday morning.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WxkKGU7UO_Y/VdsQZa3e4lI/AAAAAAAAJLE/URlQMqcO6eU/s1600/20150823_115804.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="360" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WxkKGU7UO_Y/VdsQZa3e4lI/AAAAAAAAJLE/URlQMqcO6eU/s640/20150823_115804.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
We also made a Target run. We have a storage unit nearby, but I prefer that anything we store there go in plastic storage bins. We ran out (again), so we had to stop at Target to pick some more up (again). Its kind of a pain (and kind of expensive!) to keep transferring everything we own to storage bins. But I figure next time we move, and hopefully have a basement, we are going to be very happy that all of our holiday decor and out of season clothes are in storage bins!<br />
<br />
<i>I didn't start packing on Sunday though, that's on my list for today.</i><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I spent way too long debating if I should eat yogurt, an apple or goldfish for lunch or mac and cheese.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Catching up on Friday and Saturday's posts.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
We decided to bake oatmeal cranberry cookies.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

It was a new recipe. The cookies ended up being delicious - with the cinnamon and brown sugar and cranberries, they taste just like fall! I decided they would be perfect for breakfast ;)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Zf9IAKkpOug/VdsQohCmltI/AAAAAAAAJMI/k0pjOaUW4_E/s1600/IMG_0188.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Zf9IAKkpOug/VdsQohCmltI/AAAAAAAAJMI/k0pjOaUW4_E/s640/IMG_0188.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
At the Farmer's Market yesterday we got a pint of cherry tomatoes in all different colors - red, yellow, orange, purple. We had them for dinner over pasta. Yum!<br />
<br />

I tried to take a picture of me cooking every day (I succeeded with the exception of Wednesday). My plan right now is to use these photos in my Project Life for this week, while using the rest of the pictures for my Week in the Life pages.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-lTR2SPJqDZ8/VdsQdfLfQsI/AAAAAAAAJLY/4Iq20V2t_ok/s1600/20150823_200352.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="360" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-lTR2SPJqDZ8/VdsQdfLfQsI/AAAAAAAAJLY/4Iq20V2t_ok/s640/20150823_200352.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
Sunday wrapped up as Sunday's usually do - hanging out on the couch talking about how quickly our weekend flew by before the week starts again.<br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9b6ekermgks/VdorE5Hq6jI/AAAAAAAAJI4/ag-Qcxin8XQ/s1600/20150822_083245.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9b6ekermgks/VdorE5Hq6jI/AAAAAAAAJI4/ag-Qcxin8XQ/s640/20150822_083245.jpg" width="360" /></a></div>
I love my new shirt from Target. Its light and flowy, and will transition into fall perfectly with a cardigan and jeans, or leggings and my denim jacket.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-mm41EzLhP-U/VdorEk8-b1I/AAAAAAAAJIw/3B0rfvc1xRg/s1600/20150822_084205.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-mm41EzLhP-U/VdorEk8-b1I/AAAAAAAAJIw/3B0rfvc1xRg/s640/20150822_084205.jpg" width="360" /></a></div>
We had to stop at the bank on our way to the market. Fortunately, its on the way!<br /><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-x6I2gVp-NF4/VdorE38xFDI/AAAAAAAAJI0/puS9nObNELQ/s1600/20150822_085300.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="360" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-x6I2gVp-NF4/VdorE38xFDI/AAAAAAAAJI0/puS9nObNELQ/s640/20150822_085300.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
The view from our bus ride - Wrigley Field.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-P8K3BPaXd6Y/VdorJX5bPPI/AAAAAAAAJJQ/TkwxElV7E5E/s1600/20150822_091832.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-P8K3BPaXd6Y/VdorJX5bPPI/AAAAAAAAJJQ/TkwxElV7E5E/s640/20150822_091832.jpg" width="360" /></a></div>
Everything looked great at the market. We ended up with heirloom cherry tomatoes, bell peppers, jalepenos, an eggplant and peaches.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-nQraTUV-EfU/VdorI7gfNNI/AAAAAAAAJJI/lkvZammzmx4/s1600/20150822_092847.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-nQraTUV-EfU/VdorI7gfNNI/AAAAAAAAJJI/lkvZammzmx4/s640/20150822_092847.jpg" width="360" /></a></div>
And a croissant. Because we always have to get a croissant. Or, more accurately, I always have to get a croissant. AJ usually gets a pastry. This time he got a plum and cheese danish that he said was delicious!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-f8F4kXXZaQk/VdorIXLMAaI/AAAAAAAAJKw/ffNV2hTnnpk/s1600/20150822_101247.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="360" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-f8F4kXXZaQk/VdorIXLMAaI/AAAAAAAAJKw/ffNV2hTnnpk/s640/20150822_101247.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
While we were waiting for our train, I tried to take a picture of our shoes. It didn't work out exactly how I imagined, but I love how it turned out!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4szsAyZRXTE/VdorNGkCo5I/AAAAAAAAJJo/T5KwHO4r27I/s1600/20150822_113847.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="360" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4szsAyZRXTE/VdorNGkCo5I/AAAAAAAAJJo/T5KwHO4r27I/s640/20150822_113847.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
When AJ and I were in New York last month, he made guacamole with this flavor packet from the grocery store. So he really wanted to do it again, but we couldn't find the flavor packet anywhere in our store. Honestly, our store is small and (because of that, I think), they don't have a variety of items. It can be very frustrating.<br />
<br />
He ended up buying the fresh made guacamole from the deli!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-AcjfVLDPllA/VdorLujf96I/AAAAAAAAJJY/VIDnoaoOs2k/s1600/20150822_165139_001.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-AcjfVLDPllA/VdorLujf96I/AAAAAAAAJJY/VIDnoaoOs2k/s640/20150822_165139_001.jpg" width="360" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I, on the other hand, don't like guacamole, but I do love fruit snacks!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-y49YDiwpnNI/VdorOZxMpJI/AAAAAAAAJJw/wdolQ6PBvcc/s1600/IMG_0181.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-y49YDiwpnNI/VdorOZxMpJI/AAAAAAAAJJw/wdolQ6PBvcc/s640/IMG_0181.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
Dinner tonight was nachos (hence the guacamole debacle). I usually just make them in the microwave, but I decided to be fancy and do them in the oven.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-MQ65F8IokfQ/VdorNDAKR-I/AAAAAAAAJKY/PX4oNJuPovc/s1600/20150822_193757.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="360" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-MQ65F8IokfQ/VdorNDAKR-I/AAAAAAAAJKY/PX4oNJuPovc/s640/20150822_193757.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
We spent the rest of the night enjoying our nachos and watching The Unauthorized Full House Story on Lifetime.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I can't believe it is Sunday already and this project is coming to an end today. I'm hoping to keep up some level of daily documenting (although probably not to this extent!) as we move forward into the rest of the year, since I was so severely lacking in that department this summer!</div>

It was a very quiet day around here. I woke up late, and spent most of the day scrapping, napping and just hanging around the house.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Y8Hs-cwsrUk/Vdop6wmv3zI/AAAAAAAAJH4/6C80p9qXhc0/s1600/IMG_0167.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Y8Hs-cwsrUk/Vdop6wmv3zI/AAAAAAAAJH4/6C80p9qXhc0/s640/IMG_0167.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
I don't have a scrapbook room or desk anymore (the desk was destroyed in our move from Louisiana to New York). For layouts and things, I scrap at the dining room table. But for Project Life, it is easy to take out the few supplies I need beyond the Project Life plastics and cards and put them on the coffee table and set up a nice space to scrap on my couch!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigDtfovle3I5PyE3SD_2ZUCGjhB9pXeVlvMkxXkvX-VO9iwMCrJSrSuXWsJfhwgOP1coq_8oAoVgrVNigbmhfSlmJOBUAJMtwN4DK219cUJCxS0p-cRDEupiE_ynMTQ_uZIqgoycBzIg5x/s1600/IMG_0168.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigDtfovle3I5PyE3SD_2ZUCGjhB9pXeVlvMkxXkvX-VO9iwMCrJSrSuXWsJfhwgOP1coq_8oAoVgrVNigbmhfSlmJOBUAJMtwN4DK219cUJCxS0p-cRDEupiE_ynMTQ_uZIqgoycBzIg5x/s640/IMG_0168.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-uLt2AFh_RQg/VdoqAPYFn5I/AAAAAAAAJIM/6xzRO5qMB7Q/s1600/IMG_0169.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-uLt2AFh_RQg/VdoqAPYFn5I/AAAAAAAAJIM/6xzRO5qMB7Q/s640/IMG_0169.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
Ideally I would have been in this picture, but I don't think my 7 months pregnant self could have hit the timer on the camera and then run around the table and couch and gotten back into my seat in 10 seconds!<br />
<br />
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-v8-dU4znVdw/VdoqADUcfbI/AAAAAAAAJIQ/tlNrBJuE8q4/s1600/IMG_0179.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-v8-dU4znVdw/VdoqADUcfbI/AAAAAAAAJIQ/tlNrBJuE8q4/s640/IMG_0179.JPG" width="640" /></a><br />
I even broke out the typewriter. Although the best place for it here is on a trunk under the windows in our living room...I probably should have gotten the ottoman to sit on. But instead, I tried to sit on the floor. Which was fine in the getting down on the floor aspect, but not so great at the getting up off the floor part!<br />

Then it was nap time. Well, it was actually lie on my side and feel the baby kicking time that turned into nap time. Because really, its such a comfortable napping position.</div>

Aaaand a gratuitous photo of my new socks. I recently decided to throw out all of my socks (they were just getting old) and buy all new ones at Costco. I love these funky ones, with the bright colors and stripes!</div>
<br />

AJ got home very late - he was golfing with some guys from the plant after work. So when he got home, we decided to just order a pizza, instead of cooking. I never complain about ordering a pizza for dinner! That's what Fridays are for :)<br />

When I was uploading them, I couldn't believe how many I took!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-dJHuv6Yu-VA/VdcuHfkwmyI/AAAAAAAAJFI/4TMAthsJ8pY/s1600/IMG_0120.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-dJHuv6Yu-VA/VdcuHfkwmyI/AAAAAAAAJFI/4TMAthsJ8pY/s640/IMG_0120.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
I didn't write my blog post or upload my pictures Wednesday night, so I just did it when I woke up in the morning. Which happened to be super early, because I woke up with AJ's alarm before 5am! Usually when that happens, I fall back asleep after an hour or two, but that just wasn't the case this time. I don't mind being up so early though.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-2oqk5jCcqdA/VdcuCejJbjI/AAAAAAAAJEw/zYzEvL3iTj4/s1600/20150820_080649.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="360" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-2oqk5jCcqdA/VdcuCejJbjI/AAAAAAAAJEw/zYzEvL3iTj4/s640/20150820_080649.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
It was one of those late summer almost early fall days where the weather is nice and cool and perfect for opening all the windows. And I spied just a few orange leaves outside the window all the way to the right! (Unfortunately, today isn't so cool and the a/c is back on)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMeqWH1c9ZtOvq8ktHH_N3PIVZiEVOSOUo_QkldK-cRix9VzZ8AA4xHjffsvSfUvgawa9EWFCDHoSFzReFBrYseQXhMooYGPr82MZKaypOlFYSB05RM0PkKB5bT-ejad4p8FH2LwO2OaEK/s1600/IMG_0125.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMeqWH1c9ZtOvq8ktHH_N3PIVZiEVOSOUo_QkldK-cRix9VzZ8AA4xHjffsvSfUvgawa9EWFCDHoSFzReFBrYseQXhMooYGPr82MZKaypOlFYSB05RM0PkKB5bT-ejad4p8FH2LwO2OaEK/s640/IMG_0125.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
Once I realized there was no way I was going to fall back asleep, I decided to just be up and get ready for my day. I had a quick errand to run, but wanted to wait until I knew for sure that the dry cleaner would be open!<br />
<br />
I love that my vanity is now cleaned and organized and it is so much easier to sit down and put on makeup. You might have also noticed that it is in the nursery. The bedrooms in this apartment are so small (but the living areas are quite large!) that its the only place it fits! But I think it could work nicely once the baby is here.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-keKc9R9D3OQ/VdcuMkfMe9I/AAAAAAAAJFc/v_NIPoCZDlA/s1600/IMG_0127.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-keKc9R9D3OQ/VdcuMkfMe9I/AAAAAAAAJFc/v_NIPoCZDlA/s640/IMG_0127.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
I figured with the cooler weather (it was 64 when I left the house) that it was actually a cardigan kind of day. I loved being able to pull these out of their boxes!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-aBf0bory1o0/VdcuNBgWt3I/AAAAAAAAJFg/hc9Xg5H3mAQ/s1600/IMG_0135.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-aBf0bory1o0/VdcuNBgWt3I/AAAAAAAAJFg/hc9Xg5H3mAQ/s640/IMG_0135.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
A quick view of what I saw when looking up...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-kR95JZYSZqA/VdcuCAJtLRI/AAAAAAAAJEs/57q4NSbeFjE/s1600/20150820_112646.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="360" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-kR95JZYSZqA/VdcuCAJtLRI/AAAAAAAAJEs/57q4NSbeFjE/s640/20150820_112646.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
and looking down during my walk to the dry cleaner.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-YNK-rmPk_HM/VdcuBVYENiI/AAAAAAAAJEg/Wel2cO1hEEM/s1600/20150820_113057.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="360" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-YNK-rmPk_HM/VdcuBVYENiI/AAAAAAAAJEg/Wel2cO1hEEM/s640/20150820_113057.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
My new maternity jeans needed to be hemmed. They were the perfect length to wear with a pair of heels, but I'd really rather wear them with flats!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4HJYRC_lQJk/VdcuGUbP9yI/AAAAAAAAJFA/IpZRMmQW2RU/s1600/20150820_114004.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4HJYRC_lQJk/VdcuGUbP9yI/AAAAAAAAJFA/IpZRMmQW2RU/s640/20150820_114004.jpg" width="360" /></a></div>
<br />
A quick stop at the grocery store for a water bottle.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-TTL__ozJO_w/VdcuEKbk6fI/AAAAAAAAJE4/XKWvSv_XjXY/s1600/20150820_113951.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-TTL__ozJO_w/VdcuEKbk6fI/AAAAAAAAJE4/XKWvSv_XjXY/s640/20150820_113951.jpg" width="360" /></a></div>
They started a new policy in Chicago where you can't get plastic bags at the grocery store anymore. Its a good policy, and I understand why they did it, but it can be difficult when you stop at the store for something unexpectedly without your reuseable bags (usually when I'm walking by on my way home from the L and remember that we are out of something). They do have brown paper bags, but they don't have handles, so its hard to carry them home when you are walking!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-uqvrgI3FWSE/VdcuOBsRPRI/AAAAAAAAJFo/ZlUq9ghB1Nw/s1600/IMG_0140.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-uqvrgI3FWSE/VdcuOBsRPRI/AAAAAAAAJFo/ZlUq9ghB1Nw/s640/IMG_0140.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
And then it was time for a nap!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgn5WdowC8SGlwxQWOPHJORGbJw9F1Otq1ZJqPi51jMDri6byWO6SgQ9BXrPpFwCkdbZRfvpj71cQY2NhtIMOloouQ28F-cZVTAo1HcYU0ZdjqRjeJLP7Ty2dUyOaSYYKWBJEE-ODgwZo6A/s1600/IMG_0143.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgn5WdowC8SGlwxQWOPHJORGbJw9F1Otq1ZJqPi51jMDri6byWO6SgQ9BXrPpFwCkdbZRfvpj71cQY2NhtIMOloouQ28F-cZVTAo1HcYU0ZdjqRjeJLP7Ty2dUyOaSYYKWBJEE-ODgwZo6A/s640/IMG_0143.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
After my nap, I wanted to do laundry, but they'd turned off the water in my apartment building! I don't know why - they are renovating the apartment downstairs and also there were a ton of construction vehicles going up and down our street. So I couldn't do any new laundry, but the laundry that I hung up on Monday was dry and ready to be folded and put away.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-pLpu-jBq6V4/VdcuSGkThfI/AAAAAAAAJGA/sWc-26FGPmA/s1600/IMG_0146.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-pLpu-jBq6V4/VdcuSGkThfI/AAAAAAAAJGA/sWc-26FGPmA/s640/IMG_0146.JPG" width="426" /></a></div>
Then I spent about an hour unpacking and listening to the Paperclipping Roundtable. I finally finished the last two <i>big</i> boxes (all clothes - mostly mine that went right into Rubbermaid containers for storage). Now I just have a few small ones left, but I need a few more storage containers!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-k8yYyyB36WQ/VdcuTr8QhSI/AAAAAAAAJGI/Zs2yLENTAWQ/s1600/IMG_0148.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-k8yYyyB36WQ/VdcuTr8QhSI/AAAAAAAAJGI/Zs2yLENTAWQ/s640/IMG_0148.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
Since I'd done everything on my to do list for Thursday (aside from washing towels!) I just relaxed on the couch for a while.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-AZIZGcO2SBE/VdcuWfitFfI/AAAAAAAAJGQ/p8gIObYqiLk/s1600/IMG_0152.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-AZIZGcO2SBE/VdcuWfitFfI/AAAAAAAAJGQ/p8gIObYqiLk/s640/IMG_0152.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
And painted my nails with another one of my favorite Sally Hansen Insta-Dri.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHUn35Ek5KyHRpNIfiK7UHb2-OBlyCSx5e0q7cG6upXn_anrWUo10wBZBwgvwi6WekNvHVc-N7K5MgAYXEPXhVdK_Sdry7Gu-auaDhWYDvIsInCGVdo7qQT_JhyphenhyphenFtg6i0Xhv6ZIvCmHx6-/s1600/IMG_0153.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHUn35Ek5KyHRpNIfiK7UHb2-OBlyCSx5e0q7cG6upXn_anrWUo10wBZBwgvwi6WekNvHVc-N7K5MgAYXEPXhVdK_Sdry7Gu-auaDhWYDvIsInCGVdo7qQT_JhyphenhyphenFtg6i0Xhv6ZIvCmHx6-/s640/IMG_0153.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
And then the mail finally came! I've been waiting for this package of pictures to arrive for days (it didn't take an absurdly long time or anything, I'm just very impatient when it comes to ordering pictures!) I couldn't wait to get them out of the package and into my Project Life!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-awDo334JHhI/VdcuYqActRI/AAAAAAAAJGk/DNwJN3dA6Nc/s1600/IMG_0154.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-awDo334JHhI/VdcuYqActRI/AAAAAAAAJGk/DNwJN3dA6Nc/s640/IMG_0154.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
I don't have a dedicated scrapbook area anymore, but Project Life is pretty easy to do on the couch.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cWnyE9xnZrU/Vdcudo76jTI/AAAAAAAAJG4/TFynmdGmRX4/s1600/IMG_0155.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cWnyE9xnZrU/Vdcudo76jTI/AAAAAAAAJG4/TFynmdGmRX4/s640/IMG_0155.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
Most weeks, one afternoon after work, AJ rides a trail by his work with one of his coworkers.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjv8eopWFfiMWP9BJLfrDcZ1LRDthhKy12o1P0B3ARuxYvRwInwg6XHoC7bINW8pXrC5wxrDvdBbXd8s8NY62CuwqBFUen0qmZLqu-DrHrKw9MySEZXx-_8RloGyueTbAYlLJG_pgx5Hw3m/s1600/IMG_0161.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjv8eopWFfiMWP9BJLfrDcZ1LRDthhKy12o1P0B3ARuxYvRwInwg6XHoC7bINW8pXrC5wxrDvdBbXd8s8NY62CuwqBFUen0qmZLqu-DrHrKw9MySEZXx-_8RloGyueTbAYlLJG_pgx5Hw3m/s640/IMG_0161.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
Since it was a later than usual dinner night, we did breakfast for dinner again. This time, we made waffles! The baby loves waffles, or probably more accurately, the baby loves syrup! Anytime I have waffles or pancakes, the baby throws a dance party!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkpfs-klhbo1OC_KgdXdYF4xOnbaggIfxk7SGRxuwTn7EcObewxkLXUytBRNLUJL6IP4-ud1Dgn1NVYZirsNQ7_qUBCsxzzunO8SknE5cbAzq1n5ZrREW6BJFQyeI681sLrBjffOtGcbIn/s1600/IMG_0165.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkpfs-klhbo1OC_KgdXdYF4xOnbaggIfxk7SGRxuwTn7EcObewxkLXUytBRNLUJL6IP4-ud1Dgn1NVYZirsNQ7_qUBCsxzzunO8SknE5cbAzq1n5ZrREW6BJFQyeI681sLrBjffOtGcbIn/s640/IMG_0165.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
We finally caught up on Wednesday night's Master Chef. Well...here we were watching a commercial. Which wasn't all that interesting ;)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-rS85B2AuxsA/VdcufsactpI/AAAAAAAAJHE/fSX_aKdyeno/s1600/IMG_0166.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-rS85B2AuxsA/VdcufsactpI/AAAAAAAAJHE/fSX_aKdyeno/s640/IMG_0166.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Finally, it was time for bed. </div>
<br />
I'm hoping that I am able to keep up with taking photographs throughout the weekend. That is where the wheels have fallen off for me before! I think tomorrow should go well though, we are going to go downtown to our favorite Famer's Market and I'm really looking forward to taking pictures there!<br />
<br />

I think the fact that I haven't documented much this summer has made this week long intensive look at our life even more interesting. Especially with all of the changes that have happened since the last time I really documented what was going on (for me, that was December).<br />
<br />
Yesterday, I ended up using my phone a little more than my DSLR.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9EjnKWRc79Y/VdW7PczjEZI/AAAAAAAAJDU/LC1oac1CtJU/s1600/IMG_0114.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9EjnKWRc79Y/VdW7PczjEZI/AAAAAAAAJDU/LC1oac1CtJU/s640/IMG_0114.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
Like most mornings, Wednesday started out with a cup of decaf tea. I just use our Keurig without any K-Cups to get the hot water. Its easy to do, and the regular tea bags are much less expensive than the K-Cup teas. Plus, I feel like there is less waste with the regular tea bags.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Shower time. I am definitely not brave enough to bring my camera into the shower like <a href="http://aliedwards.com/2015/08/week-in-the-life-2015-tuesday-words-photos">Ali Edwards</a> did on Tuesday, but I liked the idea of capturing that part of my day. So I stood outside the door and snapped this picture of our bathroom.<br />
<br />
I also love having pictures like this of where we live. We move so often, and I love having pictures of little details like this from our apartments/houses.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Zl0Qucb7nBA/VdW7RcC8EpI/AAAAAAAAJDw/sSCntMbcIQo/s1600/IMG_0117.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Zl0Qucb7nBA/VdW7RcC8EpI/AAAAAAAAJDw/sSCntMbcIQo/s640/IMG_0117.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
I've been trying to make the bed every day. Its definitely not my favorite chore. But I love going to sleep at night in a bed that has been made up, so I'm trying to make this more of a priority.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNeR5TyE05G9hJbZ0hIosllInZVLpjt82c_DxYKPuhFZwQk4g6gIE8OrQ3BdQqCa9z15UMXqxFo1JALOfEtN_etDNVEWIwjGPm15vDjele5xP5nWSsCQuHay310OnQZ4SFsUXuYfnJZa53/s1600/20150819_132908.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNeR5TyE05G9hJbZ0hIosllInZVLpjt82c_DxYKPuhFZwQk4g6gIE8OrQ3BdQqCa9z15UMXqxFo1JALOfEtN_etDNVEWIwjGPm15vDjele5xP5nWSsCQuHay310OnQZ4SFsUXuYfnJZa53/s640/20150819_132908.jpg" width="360" /></a></div>
This Wednesday was a bit out of the ordinary because AJ was home early. He had an emergency dental appointment after breaking a tooth on a peanut M&M in a cookie bar! They ended up not doing much yesterday, since this break actually set in motion a larger set of work than needs to be done. And it was a clean break that already had a root canal, so he isn't in severe pain. Instead, they set up a plan for the larger set of work, and made an appointment for him to have it all done next Wednesday afternoon.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-PGE8Lf1J6f0/VdW7CNsEOQI/AAAAAAAAJCk/Rns9-1l_bHc/s1600/20150819_134303.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="360" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-PGE8Lf1J6f0/VdW7CNsEOQI/AAAAAAAAJCk/Rns9-1l_bHc/s640/20150819_134303.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
It was nice to have AJ home for lunch. We had grilled cheese. And both of us wished we had goldfish, but we didn't have any in the house!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1AS6CFYUI6E/VdW6_qx_WNI/AAAAAAAAJCY/48mwGDbpA-U/s1600/20150819_160317.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1AS6CFYUI6E/VdW6_qx_WNI/AAAAAAAAJCY/48mwGDbpA-U/s640/20150819_160317.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
I actually put on makeup today, which called for a selfie.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-CQWiJ_12a-o/VdW7DkOW03I/AAAAAAAAJCw/szg7ozsfWWg/s1600/20150819_160345.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="360" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-CQWiJ_12a-o/VdW7DkOW03I/AAAAAAAAJCw/szg7ozsfWWg/s640/20150819_160345.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
Just because AJ was home early didn't mean he stopped working. After lunch, he jumped on the computer to work from home a bit.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-hHL9C5-xNz8/VdW7SI_9PuI/AAAAAAAAJEM/oRHCF1iLprI/s1600/IMG_0119.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-hHL9C5-xNz8/VdW7SI_9PuI/AAAAAAAAJEM/oRHCF1iLprI/s640/IMG_0119.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
On Wednesdays, we always take a bump picture. The location has changed a few times, but now that we have the nursery {almost} set up, we try to take the pictures there.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-OlM5vyCzC7k/VdW7MuAxjjI/AAAAAAAAJDI/DrCL62xXkwI/s1600/20150819_173813.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-OlM5vyCzC7k/VdW7MuAxjjI/AAAAAAAAJDI/DrCL62xXkwI/s640/20150819_173813.jpg" width="360" /></a></div>
Normally on Wednesday afternoons, I go to prenatal yoga. But instead, because AJ was home and the weather was gorgeous, we decided to go for a walk.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTv8w1zZvPnwICQoZMUFutypjp6FfWl73dg9AEqsQeKnQ3ntRAsKRYlA5GnwRlveTgi2Ge140HHzmV8MqhyHYxGeBSjXQejN7QAyGro6zW0u6fDTVzs5jKi4YReSQ4gaoUPwFVMe3kJvRK/s1600/20150819_174624.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTv8w1zZvPnwICQoZMUFutypjp6FfWl73dg9AEqsQeKnQ3ntRAsKRYlA5GnwRlveTgi2Ge140HHzmV8MqhyHYxGeBSjXQejN7QAyGro6zW0u6fDTVzs5jKi4YReSQ4gaoUPwFVMe3kJvRK/s640/20150819_174624.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
I was so excited to see mums for sale. It is a huge sign that fall is on its way! Plus, they remind me of our October wedding.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2jjKKrSO6TCLkyQ2qfixBOsg9B8_MqBGIsgr-qUCDcuQwDZZ4PvBCpM2e4NdD4C8NlLzQOs2dxpVQNcXgmCfiaIu83zNb7lUnjGWeRkb4nviVHwxzy4mUXvEb3Uh7DDMjLo8esr-ERtCl/s1600/20150819_181411.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="478" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2jjKKrSO6TCLkyQ2qfixBOsg9B8_MqBGIsgr-qUCDcuQwDZZ4PvBCpM2e4NdD4C8NlLzQOs2dxpVQNcXgmCfiaIu83zNb7lUnjGWeRkb4nviVHwxzy4mUXvEb3Uh7DDMjLo8esr-ERtCl/s640/20150819_181411.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
We stopped for Bagel Bites, which I'd been craving. Not that I really needed them exactly, but I rarely indulge my not so healthy pregnancy cravings {fortunately, most of my cravings have been for roasted red peppers and tomatoes, and I've been able to ignore the ones for Starburst, Tootsie Rolls and Pull n Peel Twizzlers}, so I decided to just go for it.</div>
<br />
The rest of the evening was spent laying around on the couch watching tv. I wasn't feeling 100% for most of the afternoon, and our walk really knocked me out, so I didn't take any pictures of the rest of our night. I'm hoping I feel better today, but I am definitely going to take it easy, just in case! I'm hoping my big order of Shutterfly pictures arrives today so I can spent my afternoon scrapping! Fingers crossed :)<br />

Most of my days lately are.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimdtwyedHviqKgVIo6kUrI95Iku5Gpa4g1YcqwVtWo6v4PWY_4jBoDtVcerncNcqG13vEZImW_X5XBsr1C-RUYLJy5glpzPqIbtC5nY269XTbxgG60Y2lcbnDlTivoHF1Crbny8WLLcoZI/s1600/IMG_0091.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimdtwyedHviqKgVIo6kUrI95Iku5Gpa4g1YcqwVtWo6v4PWY_4jBoDtVcerncNcqG13vEZImW_X5XBsr1C-RUYLJy5glpzPqIbtC5nY269XTbxgG60Y2lcbnDlTivoHF1Crbny8WLLcoZI/s640/IMG_0091.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
Some mornings I wake up with AJ's alarm (between 4:10am and 5:15am, depending on if he is going to the gym). Other mornings I sleep through it and wake up later. Tuesday was a later day. Fortunately! But my mornings almost always start out with Cheerios.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQTfbrJYWv1CGLZsQf7cLcKA3yFVmivInOIo8KWGIzkxfnNlyx9IFtJYK2NQoNks_qWBmRnbJ4OkIF4yD4ni6CyZwsiJDb2eydSdzthgNImaKJFK8yBM9KyEY9OroeMo-BcGUDALiShuTR/s1600/IMG_0094.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQTfbrJYWv1CGLZsQf7cLcKA3yFVmivInOIo8KWGIzkxfnNlyx9IFtJYK2NQoNks_qWBmRnbJ4OkIF4yD4ni6CyZwsiJDb2eydSdzthgNImaKJFK8yBM9KyEY9OroeMo-BcGUDALiShuTR/s640/IMG_0094.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
I've been re-watching The Office on Netflix lately. Right now, I'm mid season 8, and definitely noticing the change from Steve Carell's departure from the show. That is the worst part about binge watching, a decline that seemed gradual in real time just smacks you in the face when you watch the episodes one after another.<br />
<br />
I was also working on yesterday's Week in the Life blog post...and you can still see Monday's laundry hanging on the drying rack (as well as some pictures that still need to be hung).<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-LpoCGhLOnCY/VdPTLMzzXPI/AAAAAAAAJAk/rllQfXXuuSg/s1600/20150818_121752.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="360" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-LpoCGhLOnCY/VdPTLMzzXPI/AAAAAAAAJAk/rllQfXXuuSg/s640/20150818_121752.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
Relaxing after lunch, enjoying how much this baby likes to move after I've eaten!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-zFppl_TAoN4/VdPTQXF6dzI/AAAAAAAAJBE/Z6nQ0bHNJ2E/s1600/IMG_0100.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-zFppl_TAoN4/VdPTQXF6dzI/AAAAAAAAJBE/Z6nQ0bHNJ2E/s640/IMG_0100.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
Most of the afternoon was spent working on unpacking and organizing. I'd been putting off unpacking this box of clothes, since most won't fit anyway. But I pulled out the cardigans, which I can still wear once the weather cools off, and packed the rest up into rubbermaid bins to go into storage for a little while.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4d9H_VKVcEs/VdPTShTR8rI/AAAAAAAAJBM/nriAASYdH4Q/s1600/IMG_0102.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4d9H_VKVcEs/VdPTShTR8rI/AAAAAAAAJBM/nriAASYdH4Q/s640/IMG_0102.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
Then I decided to tackle my vanity + make up. And watch a bit of Parks and Rec.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjms5qtkuZOtkpK88aPm5uBL5o1cQ8WVU7wI4ofcFyUO74qI8hmGneQGi_-jfAY1rA8ZBT5MExhkR6MOJBG4ajQWu2JVwdxBza4ks2u4KFDZlz-jwEssTDj4m5ic2pS3ch9RtKSKJ2yO1OZ/s1600/IMG_0108.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjms5qtkuZOtkpK88aPm5uBL5o1cQ8WVU7wI4ofcFyUO74qI8hmGneQGi_-jfAY1rA8ZBT5MExhkR6MOJBG4ajQWu2JVwdxBza4ks2u4KFDZlz-jwEssTDj4m5ic2pS3ch9RtKSKJ2yO1OZ/s640/IMG_0108.JPG" width="640" /></a><br />
I was inspired by the result to work on a few other areas of our bedroom that are often overlooked.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-d_c1JBustSU/VdPTUzIRJMI/AAAAAAAAJBU/05ycga74xJA/s1600/IMG_0107.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-d_c1JBustSU/VdPTUzIRJMI/AAAAAAAAJBU/05ycga74xJA/s640/IMG_0107.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
All of my hair products, moisturizers and spa things were sorted through and ones that were expired were tossed. Things I use daily were put in the orange crate (from our wedding), and the others were put in the linen closet with the rest of the "extra" toiletries. I feel like I can <i>use</i> my things now, because I can see them!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhI-R09evTTTZinb4PCNAibDIDuelIwW6IrhnpoFeKA9FZjz_l5tDBcMVvYnLN6eloVf1UNk1PPlzG3bsUT59PUTEH9bPwpGTVm5LJ0cP_vie74HW6S0OJenbgYU8vWPmm6Stx78cMvyiHw/s1600/IMG_0101.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhI-R09evTTTZinb4PCNAibDIDuelIwW6IrhnpoFeKA9FZjz_l5tDBcMVvYnLN6eloVf1UNk1PPlzG3bsUT59PUTEH9bPwpGTVm5LJ0cP_vie74HW6S0OJenbgYU8vWPmm6Stx78cMvyiHw/s640/IMG_0101.JPG" width="426" /></a></div>
And I managed to finally plug in my beside lamp and alarm clock. Seriously, I can't believe it has taken me this long to organize our bedroom. Well, yes, I can. Its always the last room I work on, because I can just shut the door and no one else sees it but us. But it feels so good to have everything organized in here now.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FT83-uchpxI/VdPTW7wwTNI/AAAAAAAAJBk/bqYEDuyJPME/s1600/IMG_0109.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FT83-uchpxI/VdPTW7wwTNI/AAAAAAAAJBk/bqYEDuyJPME/s640/IMG_0109.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
And then it was Tums time. I wasn't immune to heartburn before, but so many things cause it now that I never knew could. Like fruit snacks (which I probably shouldn't be eating anyway, but they're better than candy, right?)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-o9hrXVuevZ8/VdPTY3xcDII/AAAAAAAAJBw/MkfG70kVhBE/s1600/IMG_0111.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-o9hrXVuevZ8/VdPTY3xcDII/AAAAAAAAJBw/MkfG70kVhBE/s640/IMG_0111.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
We had kind of a mess up at dinner tonight. The chicken I planned to cook didn't defrost as quickly as I'd hoped (it will be dinner tomorrow night). Fortunately, I had eggs and potatoes in the fridge, so we had breakfast for dinner!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_FrwOlD6dsFIA0aPRjmj10OamsoW7kMyZQYSRfDMWSU8rIu5uNJDO2nq7R2B8pUpuhsGnpLBZ8A2FnvoQyDJi-k4q_RJKC4qjzwqGmBGN6Xennm9Yic_xTVnBit0ed-POmjo9tMSEluik/s1600/IMG_0112.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_FrwOlD6dsFIA0aPRjmj10OamsoW7kMyZQYSRfDMWSU8rIu5uNJDO2nq7R2B8pUpuhsGnpLBZ8A2FnvoQyDJi-k4q_RJKC4qjzwqGmBGN6Xennm9Yic_xTVnBit0ed-POmjo9tMSEluik/s640/IMG_0112.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
There wasn't much on TV tonight that captured our interest. So AJ decided to read while I worked on this blog post and watched the Mets game on my kindle.<br />
<br />
And that's what we are doing now. Well, that and hoping that the tornado watch we are under doesn't become a warning. I really don't want to go hang out in our laundry room basement in my pjs with my neighbors!<br />
<br />
<br />

And this year, it came at a perfect time. I finally feel ready to get back into crafting (now that our home is almost entirely set up). Or maybe its this project that is pushing me back into it, I'm just not sure...but either way, I'm so excited to be back into crafting.<br />
<br />
This year, I'm planning on using my DSLR more than my iphone for documenting. My DSLR hasn't been out and about often lately. In fact, in the past few months, we've used it mostly for bump pictures. And as a result, I think AJ's used it more than me!<br />

Every morning, I have a cup of decaf tea. Usually in my favorite LOVE mug. Its sitting right beside me right now.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I realized yesterday morning that I can't see my toes (unless I lean way over!) anymore.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-lNcOQj4UQco/VdNBAc2YIuI/AAAAAAAAI_Q/2DtxqCtYwbs/s1600/20150817_130335.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-lNcOQj4UQco/VdNBAc2YIuI/AAAAAAAAI_Q/2DtxqCtYwbs/s640/20150817_130335.jpg" width="360" /></a></div>
Monday is laundry day. Yesterday, I wanted to get caught up on washing sheets that I recently unpacked, in addition to our regular weekly laundry. So I ended up doing seven loads - it took basically all day.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKI2vabr3Ry6eEfqhPnMnQVNqDTsFK_c6oaMmK4nLpBnth-p1KI52N1Sd7BzFL6UMY-Iia9D6B-_9Blh0f1sYB-qSuH_699U78kuQgpxg7Fq923bB2KaT0Qv5gX0R9Fd4bwIoo7gdSeTG_/s1600/IMG_0082.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKI2vabr3Ry6eEfqhPnMnQVNqDTsFK_c6oaMmK4nLpBnth-p1KI52N1Sd7BzFL6UMY-Iia9D6B-_9Blh0f1sYB-qSuH_699U78kuQgpxg7Fq923bB2KaT0Qv5gX0R9Fd4bwIoo7gdSeTG_/s640/IMG_0082.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
More laundry. We don't dry a lot of our clothes in the dryer. Most of it gets hung up on a drying rack in our living room.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-rR6R2vOUtO0/VdNBFZVn96I/AAAAAAAAI_s/_AiePkdfk-U/s1600/IMG_0087.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-rR6R2vOUtO0/VdNBFZVn96I/AAAAAAAAI_s/_AiePkdfk-U/s640/IMG_0087.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
When AJ gets home, he uses the back kitchen door and basically starts doing dishes immediately while we hang out in the kitchen together and catch up on each other's day.<br />
<br />
Yesterday we had to run to the grocery store before dinner. I forgot to bring both my DSLR and my phone. Oh well. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqn3yFq7wCERxNqi2RJpKdawEw-Sc01aLSIDZlQzMuPOAgg_3xhExWZCc1529_6MsT9Bf4NvvU-dV_m1lhnDpjHlID4KnYINDbWsbIqBj_q2WojgsrspTO6PFtW3AWfYHK4uz70QxfPDYy/s1600/20150817_174540.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqn3yFq7wCERxNqi2RJpKdawEw-Sc01aLSIDZlQzMuPOAgg_3xhExWZCc1529_6MsT9Bf4NvvU-dV_m1lhnDpjHlID4KnYINDbWsbIqBj_q2WojgsrspTO6PFtW3AWfYHK4uz70QxfPDYy/s640/20150817_174540.jpg" width="360" /></a></div>
After getting back from the store, we relaxed on the couch a bit before I started dinner.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-wvyMRFeWmuw/VdNBG6b9ezI/AAAAAAAAI_0/eknbysiFG-E/s1600/IMG_0090.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-wvyMRFeWmuw/VdNBG6b9ezI/AAAAAAAAI_0/eknbysiFG-E/s640/IMG_0090.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
The baby must be a foodie like his or her daddy, because the baby always kicks when I'm cooking!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-365k1nAgz9c/VdNH3G6XpxI/AAAAAAAAJAM/Z1ovy90QU9w/s1600/20150817_195532.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-365k1nAgz9c/VdNH3G6XpxI/AAAAAAAAJAM/Z1ovy90QU9w/s640/20150817_195532.jpg" width="360" /></a></div>
We tried a new recipe for dinner last night - Tomato and Lentil Salad. AJ loved it, I liked the flavor, but I really didn't like the texture of the lentils (texture is a big thing with me and food). So instead, I made a string cheese and tomato open face sandwich.<br />
<br />
And before I knew it, it was time for bed. And now its Tuesday :)<br />

<br />
How has your summer been? I took a mini break from most social media stuff <span style="font-size: x-small;">(except a few <a href="https://instagram.com/katiestories13/">instagrams</a>, because I just love pictures so much!)</span>, it was kind of nice to step away for a little bit. And as a result, this summer I ended up almost never being on the computer.<br />
<br />
You really would have thought that I would have gotten more things done around here with more free time, but I really really didn't. Would you believe we still aren't fully unpacked? There are a few boxes left in our storage room that have to be looked at, but most of them are full of not essential things (non maternity clothes, fine china...)<br />
<br />
Fortunately, I found my scrapbook stuff, or most of it. There are still a few albums that are packed up, but I found my 2015 Project Life album!<br />
<br />
But I am really behind on it because its been packed up for so long! My album is only completed through March, but I did just order all of the pictures through July, so I should be able to catch up soon - I hope!<br />

<br />
It was fun to go back and look at these layouts. Its been so long since I've opened this album, and so much has changed since January - back then we were living in Albany, looking at homes up there and just hoping that we'd have a baby on the way soon. And now we are in Chicago, back in an apartment, and best of all, expecting our first child in November!<br />
<br />
Its still crazy to me how quickly things changed this year!<br />
<br />
<br />

<br />
I love this project so much. Although <a href="http://katie-stories.blogspot.com/2014/05/day-in-life-2014.html">last year</a> I never quite figured out how to incorporate my pictures along with <a href="http://www.katie-stories.blogspot.com/search/label/Project%20Life">Project Life</a>.<br />
<br />
This year, I have no idea what I am going to do with the pictures because most of my scrapping supplies are still in my parents' garage waiting to be shipped out here to Chicago. <span style="font-size: x-small;">Apparently when U-Haul recommends a 20 foot truck for a three bedroom home, they don't mean a three bedroom home that also includes a scrapper!</span><br />
<br />
So for now, so I don't forget before my papers and everything arrive, I'll share them here!<br />

Its been a long time. Like a seriously long time. I <strike>think</strike> know its the longest I've ever gone without blogging.<br />
<br />
I didn't blog because there was nothing really happy going on for me to blog about. We were feeling stuck and like nothing was working out, no matter how hard we tried. I wasn't scrapping very much, aside from keeping up with Project Life, for the same reasons.<br />
<br />
But all at once {literally all on the same day} everything changed. An opportunity to move back to Chicago showed up at the time when we needed it most. To call that day one full of blessings is an understatement.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCsBQtS5u8yXDugamPRt__QJIO6gKxGWyMZ0VHRJO4AfUYCIzQZ4eHoiv_evp_ssfZEhrKfic7m91yWFwQSXIPOoZieAK9Vw8Ro8Dgy7E4RDwGI-bAJ1SaT_0H3-FE0jIqW_ULJF5U5A1x/s1600/Oak+Street+Beach.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCsBQtS5u8yXDugamPRt__QJIO6gKxGWyMZ0VHRJO4AfUYCIzQZ4eHoiv_evp_ssfZEhrKfic7m91yWFwQSXIPOoZieAK9Vw8Ro8Dgy7E4RDwGI-bAJ1SaT_0H3-FE0jIqW_ULJF5U5A1x/s400/Oak+Street+Beach.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
We knew we had to go, there was no way we could pass this up. Even if the idea of our third <a href="https://instagram.com/p/kav5Fcq4-T/">move</a> in 14 months, and <a href="https://instagram.com/p/tsQiJkK49f/">second</a> <a href="https://instagram.com/p/tu8VtrK467/">cross</a> <a href="https://instagram.com/p/tu-yRMK4wT/">country</a> <a href="https://instagram.com/p/txwcZUq43N/">move</a> in only six months seemed <strike>a little daunting</strike> crazy.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-xk6EK4_e-So/VUuWyBWMfrI/AAAAAAAAIxY/bLe67EqfTFo/s1600/Chicago%2BRiver.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-xk6EK4_e-So/VUuWyBWMfrI/AAAAAAAAIxY/bLe67EqfTFo/s400/Chicago%2BRiver.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
But before I knew it, we were packing up <a href="https://instagram.com/p/16BejIq46y/?taken-by=katiestories13">several</a> U-Haul trucks (which is a story for another day!) and headed out to Chicago!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0dPPDWM3bws/VUuWyVhXKBI/AAAAAAAAIxk/2qwTrIkjGbc/s1600/AJ%2BUHaul.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0dPPDWM3bws/VUuWyVhXKBI/AAAAAAAAIxk/2qwTrIkjGbc/s400/AJ%2BUHaul.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I feel like a giant weight has been lifted now that we are back home. I cannot wait to begin blogging again now that we are back to being actually happy - and that is worth blogging about!<br />
<br />

<br />
December Daily has been on pause here. Sadly, my grandmother, my dad's mom, passed away unexpectedly last week.<br />
<br />
I am not sure if or how I am going to include the wake and funeral in December Daily. It seems morbid to include it, but weird not to, you know?<br />
<br />
I'm going to think about it a while before I make a decision. But I did work on a few other pages this morning. Some I can't include here because some have presents in them and I don't want anyone to see them yet!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQmEtQmBkyRzKlVBKKxtuKUlMFv0ILic6XLXQb-Wp3nvAr0-8s39HJNLKOG60pQA6c1dOILwqKPIMM4doH5nIgyUUld6DpKDbPCP-MWRarSGIAXB07FO1Z8HlAsCuE58-kJUUFFsI7ISa0/s1600/11+Layout.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQmEtQmBkyRzKlVBKKxtuKUlMFv0ILic6XLXQb-Wp3nvAr0-8s39HJNLKOG60pQA6c1dOILwqKPIMM4doH5nIgyUUld6DpKDbPCP-MWRarSGIAXB07FO1Z8HlAsCuE58-kJUUFFsI7ISa0/s1600/11+Layout.jpg" height="494" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
"It was supposed to be a relaxing night at home. We were baking Hershey kiss cookies, and making kale + pancetta pasta. Shouldn't have been a very big deal at all.<br />
Until the pancetta starting smoking, not badly, not unlike how pancetta or bacon or anything gets a little smoky when you cook it. But it set off the smoke detector. Which set off the screeching + flashing fire alarm in the apartment.<br />
We were able to get the smoke detectors to stop within minutes by opening the windows and turning on the fan.<br />
But the fire alarm? That went off for an hour. We stood outside in the snow and waited for someone from the apartment complex's maintenance team to come and turn off the alarm!<br />
We ended up ordering sandwiches + the world's biggest calzone for dinner!"<br />
<br />
Well I'm off to school now, but I'll have a few more pages tomorrow! What are you up to today?<br />
<br />

<br />
I've got some seriously fun plans today. I get to go to the DMV. Isn't that awesome?! I'm <i>very</i> excited ;)<br />
<br />
I was going to go yesterday, but there was more snow, so I decided to do a few things around the house instead, including finally taking out all of the Spode (and making lots of hot chocolate!)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZJDHRflPOG0/VImOiwUDc6I/AAAAAAAAIuU/YKMQXvuzL0I/s1600/10%2BLayout.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZJDHRflPOG0/VImOiwUDc6I/AAAAAAAAIuU/YKMQXvuzL0I/s1600/10%2BLayout.jpg" height="494" width="640" /></a></div>
"I finally took out all of the Spode. I don't really have anywhere to put it here (unlike Mom who has hers all displayed in her beautiful china closet!) So right now it is all sitting on the dining room table. But that's okay since the table is giant and we only need to use two seats so there is lots of room for everything. Since we don't host Christmas here, I think its fun to use our "fancy" Christmas china for "regular" meals - or hot chocolate with whipped cream and sprinkles!"<br />
<br />
PS. I edited the journaling after took the picture because I didn't like that I said "yesterday" since I actually took it out on Wednesday and only said yesterday because it was today when I was creating the layout!<br />
<br />
What are you up to today? Its got to be better than what I'm doing!<br />

<br />
I'm rushing a bit this morning. It snowed last night and it is predicted to rain/ice/snow again today, but I need to go to the grocery store! So I want to run out and get there quickly in case the roads get all messy again because skipping a trip today is so not an option - we have no milk, no bread, and basically nothing to eat at all besides frozen chicken (yeah, this is a long overdue trip!)<br />
<br />
So on to Monday + Tuesday's layouts.<br />
<br />
Monday's story is another one of those "could have happened anytime in December" stories that I just happened to share on Monday.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cPXpxo4tVDA/VIgzVaaqAvI/AAAAAAAAIt4/otplVVNANwA/s1600/08%2BLayout.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cPXpxo4tVDA/VIgzVaaqAvI/AAAAAAAAIt4/otplVVNANwA/s1600/08%2BLayout.jpg" height="494" width="640" /></a></div>
"I love wearing Christmas themed jewelry. Mom and I usually find a few new things every year: present bow + candy cane + snow flake + ornament earrings, Reindeer watch and this year's new addition, a jingle bell bracelet. Mom and Jamie have the same bracelet too!"<br />
<br />
And Tuesday's is a totally Tuesday-related story. Its all focused on the weather and the snow that we got (man do I love snow!)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3Ew_Q-HNb1w/VIgzW7h-5fI/AAAAAAAAIuE/2pQXLFskHSI/s1600/09%2BLayout.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3Ew_Q-HNb1w/VIgzW7h-5fI/AAAAAAAAIuE/2pQXLFskHSI/s1600/09%2BLayout.jpg" height="494" width="640" /></a></div>
"The weather prediction for today had been really crazy. It kept changing between snow and sleet and freezing rain. All day, we just had ice and freezing rain. I was so disappointed - after spending 18 months living in "Southtown, USA", I was so ready for snow this winter. And snow around Christmastime? That is just awesome!<br />
But I figured we'd have to wait for another day. Until AJ got home from work and said it was already snowing at the plant (just a few miles away) In just a few minutes, huge flakes were falling from the sky! I ran outside to eat December snowflakes. I wasn't waiting until January!"<br />
<br />
Do you love snow as much as I do? I would love if we had fresh snow on the ground every single day!<br />
<br />

<br />
So its true...Monday posting is just not my favorite thing in the world. I try, I really do, but Mondays are for catching up for me, and I just prefer to post on Tuesday :)<br />
<br />
How was your weekend?<br />
<br />
Ours was filled with Christmas-y goodness, which is on my DD pages. And also a little house stuff.<br />
<br />
Remember <a href="http://katie-stories.blogspot.com/2014/12/december-daily-2014-day-3.html">this house</a> that I loved but was iffy on the location? Well, AJ and I went back and thought we were okay with the location, and of course, in love with the house. As in, ready to put an offer in kind of love.<br />
<br />
But I was still nervous and needed a sign that it was okay. And instead, I got seven signs that it definitely wasn't! Yes, <i>seven</i>. I apparently needed to be hit over the head!<br />
<br />
And the last sign was totally obvious - the house is probably going to get another offer that is better than ours, and we aren't willing to meet that one at this point in our home search.<br />
<br />
The message was received, loud and clear. And I thought I'd be sadder, but really, we have until next October to purchase a home under our relocation, and the inventory is only going to get bigger as the holidays end and spring approaches. I'm looking forward to finding a house that fits us perfectly, a house where I can't wait to put an offer in and don't have those "is this the right thing?" feelings!<br />
<br />
So on to the Christmas things!<br />
<br />
I did things a little differently this week. The pictures from Friday were taken earlier in the week, but it was more of a general Christmas story, so it could really apply anywhere. And the pictures from Saturday are actually from Sunday, but we had wanted to put the lights up on Saturday except it rained all day!<br />
<br />
So I mixed it up.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-PTPRjPfeHSM/VIb-VGD7BDI/AAAAAAAAItc/cokjH-OE4Mg/s1600/05%2BLayout.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-PTPRjPfeHSM/VIb-VGD7BDI/AAAAAAAAItc/cokjH-OE4Mg/s1600/05%2BLayout.jpg" height="494" width="640" /></a></div>
"There are some things that just signify that Christmas is really here - the tree, the lights, Home Alone and Christmas Vacation, and the Hershey Kisses jingle bells commercial.<br />
This year, I saw it for the first time when I was flipping channels. I heard the familiar sound of the last bell ringing and whew-ing. I was so excited and texted AJ immeidately!<br />
I wonder when it started being aired, it feels like its been around forever - and I hope it is!'<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhW2AJGNd-ipRje9o2j__BE9J6MQp0gK00kPSxMGcJG9-oZm78Ul_WzcC4grVIopy2C4mw5DxSuXYltsgs2E37GZ99-rPg-LDYvjjg9UdquzBhjl1w9qg5ImwxwBjEbxNzdXt_vhJDcGjwS/s1600/06+Layout.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhW2AJGNd-ipRje9o2j__BE9J6MQp0gK00kPSxMGcJG9-oZm78Ul_WzcC4grVIopy2C4mw5DxSuXYltsgs2E37GZ99-rPg-LDYvjjg9UdquzBhjl1w9qg5ImwxwBjEbxNzdXt_vhJDcGjwS/s1600/06+Layout.jpg" height="496" width="640" /></a></div>
"The Christmas lights. I love putting up the Christmas lights. Even though we don't have a huge outside space, we still put lights on the balcony. I love to see them shining brightly at night. Everyone's decorations make the long (and cold!) nights seem so magical at Christmas!"<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-4SnvBKqU7OA/VIb-VN977UI/AAAAAAAAItk/O3zAFNrFXVI/s1600/07%2BLayout.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-4SnvBKqU7OA/VIb-VN977UI/AAAAAAAAItk/O3zAFNrFXVI/s1600/07%2BLayout.jpg" height="496" width="640" /></a></div>
"Spending the day at the Troy Victorian Stroll."<br />
<br />
There wasn't too much to say about the stroll. I'm sure I'll talk more about it in my <a href="http://www.katie-stories.blogspot.com/search/label/Project%20Life">Project Life</a> album. To be honest, it didn't live up to expectations and I didn't feel like talking about that since it was negative! But I did want to include it in here, since we did it and it was a Christmas event!<br />
<br />
Do you stick to recording stories exactly on the day they happen, or do you mix them up?<br />

The weekend is almost here, and I can't wait!</span><br />

Yay!</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', Trebuchet, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; line-height: 21.5599994659424px;"><br /></span>

Aside from the morning (when I was doing work related things), I spent most of the day getting ready for our Christmas movie marathon!</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', Trebuchet, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; line-height: 21.5599994659424px;"><br /></span>

We'd both been very excited earlier, but it had kind of went away. So last night, we had a movie marathon + hot chocolate (well, I had hot chocolate!) + Trader Joe's blondies. I would say that it worked!</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', Trebuchet, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; line-height: 21.5599994659424px;"><br /></span>

We'd both been so excited, but for some reason after the beautiful Thanksgiving snow melted away and Mom, Dad and Tommy went back home after Thanksgiving, we were both feeling like the Christmas magic had gone too. </span><br />
<span style="color: #222222; font-family: Trebuchet MS, Trebuchet, sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: white; font-size: 15px; line-height: 21.5599994659424px;">But we knew just how to fix it: hot chocolate + Trader Joe's blondies + a few of our favorite Christmas movies. The Santa Clause, Santa Claus is Coming to Town and Home Alone were all part of last night's movie marathon. I could watch these movies over and over again (and to be honest, Home Alone has been on at least 4 times in since last Friday!)</span></span><br />

In the past, I didn't really mind if they didn't coordinate - I treated each page as a totally different layout. While I still see them as different layouts, because they are different days and different stories, I am definitely more conscious about making sure that they "go" together. Like Tuesday/Wednesday...same red plaid carries from one day to the next.</span></span></span><br />

<br />
I'm hoping to get a wreath for our front door today. I was going to stop yesterday after house hunting, but I ran out of time!<br />
<br />
I almost did what I feared house hunting yesterday - I found <i>an awesome house</i>! Seriously, great layout, brand new amazing kitchen, hardwood floors, lots of windows, big backyard, a deck, a new roof. It was awesomely maintained, and even the wall colors were ones I would have picked!<br />
<br />
But the location wasn't great. And not even like "not perfect, but doable for this amazing house" not great, I'm talking major major issues on many points - including adding an extra 45 minutes without traffic to the trip already 3 1/2 long trip to my parents' house!<br />
<br />
So the search continues. Which is just fine since we haven't sold our house yet! <i>Know anyone looking for a house in Louisiana? </i><b>;)</b><br />
<b><br /></b>
Other than house hunting, yesterday was pretty quiet.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8dLXcsPWXBCol1VAydzTPaeQLrhs9weWJKsKcVLUo2YeJx6aGacQoz3RuxjezaYQz-vsbJPFBYqGsXIdoe-Qyf-9NdtJgRLe-xKGYPqIHpupqXdbCXAKfTQ2bwzbx_4I2EkIS4_wU07Fo/s1600/03+Collage.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8dLXcsPWXBCol1VAydzTPaeQLrhs9weWJKsKcVLUo2YeJx6aGacQoz3RuxjezaYQz-vsbJPFBYqGsXIdoe-Qyf-9NdtJgRLe-xKGYPqIHpupqXdbCXAKfTQ2bwzbx_4I2EkIS4_wU07Fo/s1600/03+Collage.jpg" height="160" width="640" /></a></div>
I started out the morning extra early, with a cup of tea and an advent calendar chocolate. And then later on, I totally burnt dinner! I was seriously upset, but decided to try the honey mustard chicken anyway, just to see how badly I messed it up. Turned out, I burnt the marinade that spilled onto the (fortunately tin foil covered) pan, but the actual chicken was awesome! I'll definitely make it again, but maybe I'll be more careful not to spill anything on the pan!<br />
<br />
This year, I am approaching December Daily slightly differently. In the past, before I did <a href="http://www.katie-stories.blogspot.com/search/label/Project%20Life">Project Life</a>, I would document what we did everyday with an accompanying picture. But since I document our daily going ons in Project Life, I'm focusing more on December stories this year.<br />
<br />
So instead of talking about house hunting and burning dinner (which will still be documented, just not here), I talked about one of my favorite family Christmas traditions - our advent calendars!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBmfLHVHy24NfWansWAGECi145uBsqYQc94q77laHNBfF734RquQN7agfcbjZ-cPr5x-K10NxhlIDksaunnTFIlSR7AJQApU14yi1CW8_1Tuznk5LbDEYz3zvZtHhS1494f7nL5j6LootR/s1600/03+Layout.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBmfLHVHy24NfWansWAGECi145uBsqYQc94q77laHNBfF734RquQN7agfcbjZ-cPr5x-K10NxhlIDksaunnTFIlSR7AJQApU14yi1CW8_1Tuznk5LbDEYz3zvZtHhS1494f7nL5j6LootR/s1600/03+Layout.jpg" height="494" width="640" /></a></div>
"Every year, Aunt Diane buys us these exact chocolate filled advent calendars (she is awesome!). They have been a part of our Christmas tradition for as long as I can remember - the chocolate just tastes like Christmas to me and I almost memorized the sayings on the inside of the windows! I love waking up and having a little chocolate "present" waiting for me - its the only time of year I have chocolate with my breakfast every day!"<br />
<br />
While I love my other albums (seriously, woke up this morning and read my 2011 and 2012 books again while drinking my tea), I am really loving this story centered approach this year!<br />
<br />
Does using Project Life affect how you approach other projects?<br />
<br />

<br />
I'm so excited, I am going to look at more houses today. Our house in Louisiana hasn't sold yet, so we aren't ready to put in an offer in New York, but I am really enjoying looking at all kinds of houses in all the different towns around here. I figure by the time we are ready to put in an offer on a house, I'll know what all of our options are!<br />
<br />
I just keep my fingers crossed that I don't find a "perfect" house, because I would want to buy it right away, and that's not an option right now!<br />
<br />
But I'm sure it will be fun, and I should have some interesting pictures to share tomorrow!<br />
<br />
Yesterday I took a ton of pictures!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXKHZQQLnABCgS5w-G4WB_u1FJ92m5wXeOwRYxJBAT_EXxKsBiJDMaBh6CcREo1pMN6tPTkx_J6BzP09xQPUE4KGSEij_8kjNU3WJfnB2ZNO5CMauVrLtX_o6VwZY31UiK0Z-mIaLlemhe/s1600/02+Collage.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXKHZQQLnABCgS5w-G4WB_u1FJ92m5wXeOwRYxJBAT_EXxKsBiJDMaBh6CcREo1pMN6tPTkx_J6BzP09xQPUE4KGSEij_8kjNU3WJfnB2ZNO5CMauVrLtX_o6VwZY31UiK0Z-mIaLlemhe/s1600/02+Collage.jpg" height="640" width="640" /></a></div>
Waiting to cross the bridge on the way to the grocery store | Cold weather + an advisory for an ice storm | Blogging in the morning | Writing up a menu + grocery list | And buying groceries | One of our Nativity scenes, this one is near the tree | Finally getting the empty boxes off the dining room table | Setting up the advent wreath<br />
<br />
After I was done grocery shopping and decorating, I was playing with my camera and taking pictures of the tree. I decided to try out <a href="http://www.pinterest.com/pin/114560384247593702/">this tutorial</a>.<br />
<br />
The pictures reminded me of looking at the tree without my glasses on - something I love to do, and something I'm always trying to convince AJ is pretty. He doesn't wear glasses and can never understand what I mean when I try to describe what anything without glasses looks like!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfGhT-qfRnZFvlmKBHHnO29Jqlxwl-4yHGOhI_Hd75aJF2Ue7MEkbpikKj9VKeiWbE0BSxi-IRNE99NiSeVOgq_tQowTexPzQbFxJj5YdP2vRA3DaemytYK-pB6846ypn6idSqY9q5VXOP/s1600/02+Layout.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfGhT-qfRnZFvlmKBHHnO29Jqlxwl-4yHGOhI_Hd75aJF2Ue7MEkbpikKj9VKeiWbE0BSxi-IRNE99NiSeVOgq_tQowTexPzQbFxJj5YdP2vRA3DaemytYK-pB6846ypn6idSqY9q5VXOP/s1600/02+Layout.jpg" height="494" width="640" /></a></div>
"I've tried to explain to AJ (who has perfect vision) why the tree looks so beautiful without your glasses on. He never got it, until I found a tutorial showing how to take photos like this. He was shocked that this is my world without my glasses!"<br />
<br />
Do you wear glasses? Do you love to look at the tree without them like I do?<br />
<br />
I'm linking up my Day 2 with <a href="http://aliedwards.com/2014/12/december-daily-2014-day-two">Ali Edwards</a> again today. And the rest of my album pages are here: <a href="http://katie-stories.blogspot.com/2014/12/december-daily-day-1.html">Day 1</a> (and by rest, I mean the other one...because its only Day 2!)<br />

<br />
Our Thanksgiving weekend was fun, but the two weeks before...craziness!<br />
<br />
Can you do me a favor? The next time I decide to move cross country and host a major holiday two weeks later, please remind me how crazy it was to unpack and shop and cook and get the house ready at the same time!<br />
<br />
But really, without the deadline of hosting guests for a holiday, I seriously doubt we would have gotten everything unpacked and organized so quickly. So maybe I should always plan a big party right after a move so we have to get everything done?<br />
<br />
Of course, the house is in upheaval again as we pull out all of the Christmas decor and try to figure out where it all fits in our new apartment!<br />
<br />
And its time to begin another one of my favorite holiday traditions - <a href="http://aliedwards.com/projects/december-daily">December Daily</a>. Like <a href="http://katie-stories.blogspot.com/search/label/December%20Daily">previous years</a>, this will be my only digital project of the year.<br />
<br />
I'm using <a href="http://www.shutterfly.com/">Shutterfly</a> again, because it is just so easy! Every morning I upload the pictures from the day before {or I upload my iphone pictures directly from their app - so easy!} I add the pages to the book one at a time, and by the end of the month, my book is done and ready to order!<br />
<br />
I'll be sharing a bit about our days + my layouts here. It might be daily, it might not...I guess I'll just have to see how it works out! But I will be linking up with <a href="http://aliedwards.com/">Ali Edwards</a>.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
And so, its on to Day 1!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-b0qku-a1MXk/VH2xHDz1wuI/AAAAAAAAIrU/bPUTYeSIrr0/s1600/01%2BCollage.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-b0qku-a1MXk/VH2xHDz1wuI/AAAAAAAAIrU/bPUTYeSIrr0/s1600/01%2BCollage.png" height="528" width="640" /></a></div>
It was a pretty normal December day. A little baking, watching food network by the tree.<br />
<br />
We started our advent calendars. They are a wonderful tradition in my family. Every year, my aunt buys us all a chocolate advent calendar. It is one of my favorite December things, and I can't imagine starting off a Christmas season morning without that little piece of chocolate!<br />
<br />
A little out of the ordinary today, AJ came home for lunch. He called around 1:15, he'd forgotten his lunch and since we live just 10 minutes away, he decided to come eat here. It was so fun to see him for a bit in the middle of the day!<br />
<br />
Of all those stories today, I decided to start off December Daily with the peanut butter oatmeal cookies I was making. Which is nothing new really. <a href="http://katie-stories.blogspot.com/2011/12/december-1.html">2011</a> and <a href="http://katie-stories.blogspot.com/2012/12/december-daily-cover-saturday-december-1.html">2012</a> started off similarly, talking about cookies and baking...and <a href="http://katie-stories.blogspot.com/2013/12/december-daily-2013-cover-day-1-day-2.html">2013</a> started with another favorite holiday treat!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-xNxbgYdr1m0/VH2w53Oo-pI/AAAAAAAAIrM/PRpMaH_kl3M/s1600/01%2BLayout.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-xNxbgYdr1m0/VH2w53Oo-pI/AAAAAAAAIrM/PRpMaH_kl3M/s1600/01%2BLayout.jpg" height="496" width="640" /></a></div>
"It seems December Daily always starts with something baked. The start of this month, bringing out the Christmas decorations, watching our favorite Christmas movies {Home Alone | Christmas Vacation}, the cold weather, it all makes me want to fill the kitchen with flour and sugar and vanilla.<br />
I tried a new recipe this time - peanut butter oatmeal cookies. I'm calling them "breakfast cookies", but just so I don't feel bad eating them in the morning!"<br />
<br />
It feels awesome to start this project. How are you documenting your Christmas season?<br />
<br />

There were a lot of reasons, and I tried several times to get back into blogging, but it always was the first thing to go when my to do list got a little too crazy.<br />
<br />
Or even when things didn't get too crazy, because at some point, it wasn't as fun anymore.<br />
<br />
So that's when my accidental <span style="color: #274e13;">life got too crazy</span> break became a real <span style="color: #660000;">I'm stepping away for a bit because this isn't fun anymore</span> break.<br />
<br />
And for a while, I didn't think I would come back to this blog. I wasn't crafting a lot, which may have been because my desk is in several pieces in the garage, or because I was reading, watching West Wing and Gilmore Girls, exploring our new home and unpacking.<br />
<br />
But I started to miss blogging. So I waited. I waited to see if I really missed it, or if I was just bored. And then I realized I missed Week in the Life week.<br />
<br />
Honestly, is that really <i>that</i> big of a deal? No. I can totally take pictures of my week myself and just do it a different week. And I thought about doing that. But it wouldn't be the same. I missed doing it at the same time as everyone else, the community.<br />
<br />
And I realized, I don't blog because I like crafting, I can do that with or without blogging, I blog because I like being part of a community. Sharing and being inspired and being a part of something bigger.<br />
<br />
So I'm back. And just in time to take part in my favorite scrapbook event of the year - December Daily.<br />

<br />
We are back in New York!!! I am so so excited to finally be living back home.<br />
<br />
It has been way way too long since we've been around real fall weather. AJ and I are taking full advantage of the beautiful fall weather on the east end of Long Island - walking every morning, enjoying the vineyards, and hanging out outside every chance we get!<br />
<br />
I brought my scrapbook things with me, but with the sun out every day this week, I haven't been inside much to use it!<br />
<br />
But, I do have this layout made over the summer about my <i>other</i> favorite place to live - Chicago!<br />
<br />
One of my favorite things about living in Chicago was using the CTA to go everywhere. I loved my Chicago Card, and when we moved, I didn't know what to do with it. But I didn't want to throw it out, so I held on to it. And eventually decided to make a layout with the card - but I didn't have any pictures to go with it.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcUSny5nywq-zx7_qZTWq05k9FNHyKvl0uDG_p8evL1GanfzlhZGm5rogfAlBkUfq6waCDTR-rTkF3ewEkzc6kjI0lzXo_DXJITBy0VWK3lcxtBt9akM5R7rYI4Rh_DEOdOyuIJYLh24_t/s1600/Katie+Stories+Chicago+Card+Layout.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcUSny5nywq-zx7_qZTWq05k9FNHyKvl0uDG_p8evL1GanfzlhZGm5rogfAlBkUfq6waCDTR-rTkF3ewEkzc6kjI0lzXo_DXJITBy0VWK3lcxtBt9akM5R7rYI4Rh_DEOdOyuIJYLh24_t/s1600/Katie+Stories+Chicago+Card+Layout.jpg" height="640" width="638" /></a></div>
<br />
Then I had a really hard time because the colors on the card were pretty weird, and I had trouble finding papers that worked with it. I ended up printing out a map of the CTA train and bus system, and using it as a center for my layout. I'm happy with how it turned out, and I'm glad I documented that part of my life!<br />
<br />
Well, I'm off to shower and get ready for more exploring the island out here! What are you up to this week?<br />
<br />

<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Just popping in to say that there won't be a Project Life post today because it's moving day!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
This is the fastest move turn around we've ever done - two weeks from the day we found out we were moving to the day we got in the car. It's been a hectic two weeks, but we're in the car and headed north!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I'll be updating on Instagram #newyorkstateofmind if you want to follow along on this crazy three day drive!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Otherwise I'll be back on <strike>Tuesday</strike> Thursday with a Chicago scrapbook layout and on <strike>Wednesday</strike> Friday with a mini recap of our tip!!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Have a great weekend :)</div>

<div style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
<br /></div>
<br />
Hi everyone!<br />
<br />
Did you know that every day I on my board in my classroom, I share a national event/holiday/awareness day that occurs on that date? Sometimes they're silly. Sometimes they're boring. And sometimes, I write them up there hoping to bring something to my students' attention.<br />
<br />
It was recently brought to my attention that September 26 is Mesothelioma Awareness Day.<br />
<br />
To be honest, I never thought too much about mesothelioma beyond hearing it mentioned in those class action lawsuit commercials that always come on during Judge Judy.<br />
<br />
It seemed like something that didn't affect women, especially young women. And I thought it we figured out the cause of it (asbestos exposure), people weren't going to really get it anymore.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/?ui=2&ik=2d372e433f&view=fimg&th=148a40e0cec52b01&attid=0.2&disp=inline&safe=1&attbid=ANGjdJ9JdNXDeOkCHF9yQjIWKyuverPyj3otrFCyjZRU-upO1dNW2Nuz4L8lDbYZxNoYowmMF_D3j7W-rvSQNXqY91164LeJARR4RDZJKWi7ThfowyL6naORlcJ-lrY&ats=1411686811185&rm=148a40e0cec52b01&zw&sz=w1342-h513" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Displaying Cam_Lil_HVSJ.jpg" border="0" height="142" src="https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/?ui=2&ik=2d372e433f&view=fimg&th=148a40e0cec52b01&attid=0.2&disp=inline&safe=1&attbid=ANGjdJ9JdNXDeOkCHF9yQjIWKyuverPyj3otrFCyjZRU-upO1dNW2Nuz4L8lDbYZxNoYowmMF_D3j7W-rvSQNXqY91164LeJARR4RDZJKWi7ThfowyL6naORlcJ-lrY&ats=1411686811185&rm=148a40e0cec52b01&zw&sz=w1342-h513" width="200" /></a>But then Cameron Von St. James reached out to me about his family's story.<br />
<br />
His wife, Heather, was diagnosed with mesothelioma just after giving birth to their daughter. She was given only a short time to live, only 15 months. And that was actually better than average for this disease. Of the 2,500 and 3,000 new cases of mesothelioma diagnosed each year, most are give only they are given 10 months to live.<br />
<br />
But after a life saving surgery - including removing one of her lungs - Heather is now one of the few mesothelioma survivors.<br />
<br />
She, and her family, now make it their goal to raise awareness of mesothelioma.<br />
<br />
Cameron shared some facts with me about mesothelioma that I never knew before.<br />
<br />
Like what mesothelioma actually was. Its an aggressive cancer that attacks the lining of the body cavity called the "mesothelium". And the only know cause is exposure to asbestos.<br />
<br />
And that it isn't only in the lungs. While 80% of the time it is, it can also occur in the abdominal lining and heart's lining.<br />
<br />
Or that there is a such thing as second hand asbestos exposure from parents or spouses who work with the material. Even though mesothelioma is most commonly diagnosed between the ages of 50 and 70 <span style="font-size: x-small;">(it usually sits dormant in the body for 20-50 years after initially being exposed to asbestos)</span>. It isn't uncommon for younger generations who may have had second hand exposure. And the incidence in women is on the rise too, largely due to this second hand exposure.<br />
<br />
So today I'm using my post to raise awareness to some of these facts. And hopefully one of my students notices today's special day on the board, and asks me about it!<br />
<br />
For more information, you can check out Heather's <a href="http://www.mesothelioma.com/heather/awareness/#.VCSoIPldXeI">awareness page</a> or <a href="http://www.mesothelioma.com/">mesothelioma.com</a>.<br />

<br />
So, I planned to share this yesterday, but life happened. If you follow me on instagram, you probably already saw <a href="http://instagram.com/p/tQT7D6K467/?modal=true">this</a>.<br />
<br />
AJ and I are moving back to New York! We are so excited to be going back home and being close to family again. And I don't think its been a big secret that we didn't love Louisiana.<br />
<br />
But part of leaving is saying goodbye to this house, which does leave me feeling a little sad. We've only lived here for a few months,but it was our first house. So my goal before we leave is to photograph all the rooms so I don't forget them.<br />
<br />
I started with my scrapbook room.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-PBB53JWdhOE/VCIHJAEBcfI/AAAAAAAAInw/vT0Q6Wow2do/s1600/Katie%2BStories%2BScrapbook%2BRoom.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-PBB53JWdhOE/VCIHJAEBcfI/AAAAAAAAInw/vT0Q6Wow2do/s1600/Katie%2BStories%2BScrapbook%2BRoom.jpg" height="426" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I love this room. All of my scrappy things are here, and when I'm mid project, I just shut the door and no one can see the mess. Its such a huge change from when my Expedit bookshelves were our tv stand and my desk was in the corner of the living room <span style="font-size: x-small;">(where people put drinks on it during parties...don't even get me started on how much that drove me crazy!)</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-FcXiGakjgZ8PGOa0VJ_IRZ0pVIBL6ziyGuh5xib34kxBPI8VZes4PssFaZsOT6uB9iKRX_akUI-BshbblbZjbe6zWf5bLIisjoi_OdbOnLwvfK0nOD40civKzSCV0P1UZYddh5lLP0NC/s1600/Katie+Stories+Scrapbook+Room+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-FcXiGakjgZ8PGOa0VJ_IRZ0pVIBL6ziyGuh5xib34kxBPI8VZes4PssFaZsOT6uB9iKRX_akUI-BshbblbZjbe6zWf5bLIisjoi_OdbOnLwvfK0nOD40civKzSCV0P1UZYddh5lLP0NC/s1600/Katie+Stories+Scrapbook+Room+2.jpg" height="640" width="528" /></a></div>
<br />
I'm really hoping we can continue to have a space for my scrap things, because having them <span style="font-size: x-small;">(and all the clutter they create!)</span> out of our main living area has been awesome!<br />
<br />
Where do you keep your craft things?<br />

<br />
It was so amazing to see our friends though, it had been way too long now that we are all spread out all over the country!<br />
<br />
I can't wait to get the pictures printed, but I'm trying to work chronologically, so I need to get through June and July and August first!<br />
<br />
So that's what I worked on when I got home from work last night :)<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Week 26 | June 23 - June 29</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFKZe_DzbpZAkBgGo2ec1XMJ5nCByqiZ6S_pHn0BML2Yydpb9uPhpmVWrAby0dtu9tF5G0KPMBJ-QGKCQQJmDuEvxm8Yf_Z4-Sl0XRIRNI5ctQBK2XWYQx8vr9O7Lv4HJdTQanvX5ebBS-/s1600/Katie+Stories+Project+Life+2014+Week+26.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFKZe_DzbpZAkBgGo2ec1XMJ5nCByqiZ6S_pHn0BML2Yydpb9uPhpmVWrAby0dtu9tF5G0KPMBJ-QGKCQQJmDuEvxm8Yf_Z4-Sl0XRIRNI5ctQBK2XWYQx8vr9O7Lv4HJdTQanvX5ebBS-/s1600/Katie+Stories+Project+Life+2014+Week+26.jpg" height="332" width="640" /></a></div>
Things got a little stressful this week because it was the start of all of <a href="http://katie-stories.blogspot.com/2014/07/update-some-around-house-decorations.html">this drama</a>. I chose not to journal about it here though. Instead, I focused on our impromptu overnight trip to New Orleans. We had a great time staying in the Garden District - it was the first time we visited there. And we got beignets, my absolute favorite!<br />
<br />
And I also finished up my scrap room. Its a bit messy right now, as we had to turn it into a third bedroom while our friends were visiting, but I'm planning to clean it up this weekend and share pictures on Tuesday!<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Week 27 | June 30 - July 6</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-9_yV03NR_DQ/VBtyN5AP-QI/AAAAAAAAInI/lq9axn5YQso/s1600/Katie%2BStories%2BProject%2BLife%2B2014%2BWeek%2B27.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-9_yV03NR_DQ/VBtyN5AP-QI/AAAAAAAAInI/lq9axn5YQso/s1600/Katie%2BStories%2BProject%2BLife%2B2014%2BWeek%2B27.jpg" height="342" width="640" /></a></div>
Fourth of July week was pretty quiet around here. I basically only had pictures from 4th of July! So I decided to go all out with my Project Life page and my <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Project-Life-Becky-Higgins-Holiday/dp/B00CICS8WU">holiday kit</a>. I am totally loving how it all came together. And I also love the top left pocket - it is see through with just a card in the middle. When it lines up with the pages behind it, you can see part of a baseball game and part of a vineyard.<br />
<br />
I've been using see through spaces in the pockets more this year, and I'm really liking them! What are your go to design elements lately?<br />
<br />
